This book is another case of reader whiplash like the first book of the series. The character of Massimo is still presented as a dark and dangerous man but now he seems to have done an emotional 180 that is not quite clear to the reader when this change happened. Laura now comes off as childish and frankly a brat. She claims to understand Massimo's world and attitude but then cries fowl when things don't go the way she wants. While the second book of this series still maintains the steamy sex and hard edges of the first, the character development is lacking. An enjoyable read if all one is looking for is brain candy.
This Day picks up right where 365 Days left us hanging wondering the fate of Laura. This Day is packed with drama, mobster, and a whole lot of passion.
I still love Massimo. Honestly, a sexy alpha a$$hole gets me every time. I cannot turn them down. Massimo truly loves Laura and would risk his life for hers. I was surprised to learn more about Massimo’s personal life, I can not help but wonder how this twist will factor into the next book.
I liked Laura less in this book. She appears to be this strong, smart, capable woman, yet she keeps making the same mistakes repeatedly. How can she not read a situation?? I understand the whole pregnancy hormones being high (been there done that three times) BUT this was to an extreme. There were a few times I could not help but shake my head and be a bit angry with her.
We had a few new characters introduced. Some I liked and others I hated. I have my fingers-crossed that one of them survives despite being a bad guy, I don’t think he is.
I enjoyed This Day more than 365 Days. The translation was better but there were still some issues. I am looking forward to how this story ends. Again, we are left with a HUGE cliffhanger.
I have been really looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint- now we need an update on when the third one will be released in English.
Laura is the same whiny spoiled brat but gosh do t you just love to love her. I find myself
Going back and forth between feeling sorry for and disliking Massimo. I would have liked to read more from his perspective.
There are lots of new characters introduced. The story moves along at a good pace and then the ending just sort of leaves you hanging.
Lots and lots of descriptive sex scenes. At time it seems excessive so I just skimmed through those and moved back to the story.
Again - can’t wait for part three.
I enjoyed every minute of it. I also understood what I was getting myself into. It's all smut and action. I don't know how they are going to make a movie out of this one to be honest. The storyline had a lot of untapped potential but it held my interest. I read it in one sitting. It's not perfect but if you liked the first book you will enjoy this one too. I can't wait for book 3! Definitely give it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow. This series Keeps getting better and better… This is book 2 in the series and I am waiting patiently For book 3 . .
While you can read these out order you’re not going to want to miss a single page of this sexy series.
I really enjoyed this book. It was action packed and very emotional. I am not so patiently waiting for the 3rd book to come out.
Thank you NetGalley for a digital copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Blanka Pilinski has done it again in the second installment to her “365 Days” series.. I had the pleasure of reading this via NetGalley. I thought I would die if I had to wait until Dec 7th because 365 Days left me on the craziest cliffhanger. Pilinkski gave me everything I didn’t know I needed. She paints such a chaotic, sexy, and addictive storyline. “This Day” features all of our favorites, Massimo, Laura, Olga, and Domenico + some very interesting new characters that will totally make you say “WTF!”. If you thought the first book was good, wait until you dive into the second. Laura soon finds out what it means to be married to the most dangerous man in Italy.
Besides the obvious obsession I have for anything and everything Massimo, I love that we saw more of Domenico's character and backstory in this book, as well as Olgas. There are new characters that complicate the story in the best way and I am now so anxious to get to the third book!
This Day is a sexy as sin sequel to the infamous first book in the series, '365 days'. Blanka Lipinska brings the drama, danger, and seduction in this unputdownable read!
In this book, Laura and Massimo are living a complicated life. Everything is happening so quickly. From a grand wedding to a baby on the way. You always knew that they were attracted to each other in an unexplainable way but as you read this book you see their connection blossom. I'm not saying that Massimo is going to change his dominant and protective ways but he is gentle with Laura, when she needs that. Laura's boldness also grows as she finds her boundaries with her new husband which is so fun to read.
There is danger and suspense the whole way. Some are personal issues and some come in the form of enemies of Massimo. It's challenging for the two to navigate their lives especially when Massimo's business affects their lives.
I also enjoyed reading about the romance between Laura's best friend, Olga and Massimo's brother, Domenico. They are both so bold and say what's on their mind and I think fans will love reading about them.
Blanka Lipinksa started this series with a kidnapping and finds a way to incorporate that theme into this book and does it really well. It tied perfectly into this book and helped the story move forward without being forced.
I give This Day 5 stars. I just can't get enough of this series. If you thought Blanka Lipinska wouldn't be able to live up to the hype, you are mistaken. Her writing is enticing and engaging. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down!
Book 2, continuation of 365 by Polish author Blanka Lipinska has some good qualities. The translation was much better than the first and I wasn’t quite so judgmental with the characters, although I thought Laura and friend Olga still hadn’t grown up from book one. Perhaps it’s because I am so much older than they are, but I don’t ever remember acting like teenagers hanging out at the mall when I was in my twenties.
The books are definitely better than the movie and I am glad I read the first book before seeing the movie. I do wish their story had been condensed into one long book or two medium page books.
Wow just ….. WOW. It had been along time since I read 365 days , so naturally when I got this day, I had to go back and re read 365 so my storyline would be seamless . This day picks up right where 365 left off.
I couldn’t put this book down . It’s hard not to root for massimo, he’s the broody mafia boss. Massimos love for Laura is what makes you keep turning the pages. When Laura takes off because she thinks he was cheating, I found myself wanting to shake her and tell her what an idiot she is .
The book has a lot of twist and turns you don’t see coming , as well as a lot of hot scenes. This book ends in a cliff hanger and now I desperately want book 3 I want to know how it ends… ahhh
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC
Loved reading the engaging and entertaining second book in the trilogy series. Laura is pregnant and in love with Don Massimo, her husband, as the danger continues to bombard, attack, and subtly converge on them. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
I reviewed a copy of the book through NetGalley.
I really wanted to love this book. After reading the first book, I Couldn't wait to devour the second one. I liked it but I felt that it wasn't as good as the first. The plot left me wanting for about 2/3 of the book but at the end I was hanging off of my seat. There were many hot scenes but Laura's character left me confused. She was this boisterous, take no crap, larger than life woman in the first book and just meek and mild in the second book. Whether this was because we are now seeing what she really got herself into or if it is truly a character flaw for her we don't know. Massimo is a contradiction in terms. He's hard, he's soft (no pun intended) and I really didn't feel the love/obsession that he has for Laura.
The ending left me hanging. The last scenes are shocking. It was everything I was looking for in the rest of the book. Although it started out slow for me, I'm glad I read it and look forward to the last book in the trilogy. My advice is to stick with it. The ending is worth it.
Action packed and sensual continuation of 365 …, Greater embellishments of the characters and some awesome new ones
These books just keep getting better and better. I am obsessed with what happened in this book. I mean yes the movie was 🔥🔥🔥 but this book was hotter 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I have so many questions and hope to read more. I just adore this series. Give me more like this please
I had high hopes for this book as I loved the first book 365 Days. I even watched the movie on Netflix! It left me hot, bothered, and wanting more after the first book. However, I don't think this book delivered on the sequel I was hoping for. Yes, there was still hot scenes and things moved forward for Massimo and Laura. However, the writing lacked and all the main action took place toward the end of the book. It it still worth the read if you are anxiously awaiting more after the first book like I had been.
This book is like a soap opera - full of drama, most of it unrealistic, but totally entertaining. I had to know what happens next! This is definitely a really fun read.
I… have no idea what I just read.
I don’t even really have the words. I didn’t like how this book was written. Very confusing.
And the cheating was a NO.
In book 2 of the 365 series, Laura and Massimo's story continues.
Laura is living her dream life in Sicily. She has her man, her best friend, and her family now knows what's going on. Laura only wishes she could live a more normal life with her husband and baby on the way. Things appear to be going smoothly until her safety is threatened. Massimo will do anything to protect her...but can he get to her in time?
I loved seeing Laura's character continue to grow in this story. She is continuing to develop into the strong, female protagonist I know and love. She knows what she wants, how to get it, and is not afraid to speak up for herself.
After leaving me on a cliffhanger with this book, I can't wait for book 3!
I had a lot harder time with this thank 365 days. It really just missed the mark for me personally.
There’s a lot of plot hole I feel like that just didn’t make sense. I sadly ended up DNFing this book
