First off, I found this book very timely since I read it in February and February is the month of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. This book was unlike any other that I have read and I found it absolutely fascinating to dive into the world of Vodou. The protagonist, Reina, was very likable and I was rooting for her from the very beginning. I was engrossed in her solving the murder that occurred in the French Quarter, and that threatened her religion and Vodou practices. This was a fun read and I loved the mystery/magical realism aspects of it.
