A very cute and lively story, featuring Boris the Cat in comic strip form. Each story shows Boris in different seasons/weather out and about and helping other animals he comes upon. Lots of fun.

Boris the Cat, written by an Austrian author, has many friends who come to visit him or take him on adventures. The chapters are short with comic strip panels. It would be a good book to read with a child and discuss what happens next.

"The little cat with big ideas"? Well, that's a lie of a subtitle and no mistake. In the bits of this I saw – and it really should have been flagged up that I was only getting a quarter of the book – it's an owl's idea where Boris lives, it's a mouse that causes an adventure with a car tyre, a floral welcome for a friend was by accident, the hedgehog invents the helicopter, and a lot of the causes of the other tales are the wind or the rain. Boris's ideas are so low on the ground, any other reviewer would make a British political comparison. Certainly there is so much weather on these pages you'd think this a British book, feeding the stereotype that that's all we ever talk about to each other. What it is is a selection of six-panel cartoon strips featuring the cat and other animal friends, and there's very little here to actually laugh at, or love. If people deem this a classic, then fair play to them, but I really cannot see anything like that amount of appeal.

Funny first reader for beginning readers! The stories ar short and illustrations are a hoot. I am pretty sure even younger children will enjoy hearing the stories read to them. Great book! Great addtion to a classroom or library.

While reading Boris the cat the layout reminded me of comic strips. The illustrations really colourful and the writing is underneath and there is not many lines it’s very cute book.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this.

Boris the cat gets bored quite often, he would go on trips all the time, he was quite the little adventurer, you know. Kids, up aboard and let this little dude take you on a journey, a surprisingly adventurous one, you are sure to have fun while traveling with him.

This would make wonderful independent reading practice for new readers. Boris is a cute, lively cat who finds himself in lots of fun adventures. Each story is told in 6 panels of artwork. With simple language reflected in the pictures, young readers can practice decoding while using the illustrations as reference.

I would definitely keep this on a classroom bookshelf or encourage kids to check out a copy for home in order to gain experience and confidence reading simple stories by themselves.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This was interesting and almost reminded me of Calvin and Hobbes books where it's a picture book but separated into "chapter" of short stories. I enjoyed them and the classic illustrations were wonderful! Would recommend for when pictures are needed but looking for more depth than a regular children's book.
