I was curious by A Prime’s Passion with that title and I thought it was likely going to be a paranormal romance and since those are my jam, I decided to see what it was about. Let me tell you, the synopsis did not disappoint, I was even more intrigued after reading it and totally sold on getting it. I had to read something else before I could start A Prime’s Passion, but as soon as I was able to, I dove in! It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and it had me glued there for awhile. I was definitely invested in learning about this new world and seeing Zee and Niko find their way back to each other, though there were some bumps on the road to finishing this book. It was lowkey confusing to follow sometimes because I didn’t know whether I missed or just didn’t understand some things or if answers were still yet to come and some aspects felt a little rushed and underdeveloped, but the world was strong and the characters were pretty much too or at the very least, I liked them and want more of them and I feel about the whole book like that in general. I did enjoy A Prime’s Passion for the most part and I am for sure interested in continuing on with the series and seeing where else it takes me.

I received a copy of A Prime's Passion and I've been so excited as I really look forward to reading rejected mate trope. Unfortunately this book is quite a disappointment for me. I didn't feel like the H redeemed himself, the grovel was wanting. I wish I there are more interactions between both main characters and because of that I just couldn't feel their chemistry.

Anyway, thanks NetGalley for the copy. The review above are of my own thoughts.

I am always on the lookout for more new and wonderful authors plus, I am a HUGE fan of paranormal romances, so this book was a no-brainer to pick up. I am, however, not a fan of second chance romances. There are only so many bridges and they're all on fire and I'm holding all the gasoline and matches. Anywho... Where was I? Oh yeah... But, because this was a new-to-me author, I decided to grab A Prime's Passion and give it a whirl. A Prime's Passion is a second-chance shifter paranormal romance.

Overall, A Prime's Passion is not a bad start to a (hopefully) new shifter series. Doing a second chance romance with a long separation (and at the direct fault of the other) is a hard road to haul as a writer. I, in no way, felt that I got even a fraction of the groveling nor the "I'm going to make this up to you" actions that I would expect a normal human to accept as an apology. Banging does not equal apologizing, explaining oneself, nor repenting. (I am seriously jaded and salty and nothing short of I can't even say 'cuz I can't even imagine it would make me forgiving... but it's good to know this about one's self). ::shrug::

The shifter/paranormal-ness of the story was entertaining and the world-building was intriguing. I felt maybe a bit of editing and tightening up could have been done. Maybe a bit more explanations in conversation (versus internal head pondering word dumps). But nonetheless, I was entertained.

As I said above, I am not a huge fan of second chances but the glory of discovering a new author and series had me forgoing my typical hesitation. Yeah, there was nowhere near enough groveling, apologizing, and heartfelt true emotional anything to get me to not want to kick the male MC in the gonads (and then light him on fire).

I hope that more in the series is to come, just not second chance crap, and hopefully a worthy male and a snarky empowering female (or any combination of sexes, let's not typecast).

This story was reminiscent to me of Lora Leigh’s The Breeds series. In the way that it held my interest, and intrigue, in it’s grasp. Every chance I got to read, this story took over all thoughts. I was flipping page after page, reading chapter after chapter. I love when a book does that to me, because that’s when I know it was a great read.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest review, and this is my opinion.

This book was read to NetGalley.

This is the kind of love stories that I enjoy a lot, they met they loved each other, he heard something which makes him break out with her and then he finds out that he was wrong and has to win her back!!! I love it because they have to prove that they love the other and that they are sorry, it's a good way to rise my expectations in love, I recommend this book for those who enjoy that too.

Can he win her over again? Zee never wanted to leave Appalachian pack but she wasn’t given a choice. The Prime of the pack threw her aside and she has been alone without her family for ten years. And she has been in pain all this without knowing the touch of her mate. Niko never knew the truth about Zee & he knew nothing about all she went through as she is more than just a wolf. He has come to bring her home where she belongs but will she come willing? Zee knows that she needs to say her goodbyes to her father but she knows that everyone will be talking about the last time they all saw her. Can she get the week and leave? But she wasn’t counting on finding her way back to Niko again he hurt her so badly so can she trust him again? A enemy is out to kill as many of the pack as they can. Can they all work together to take them down before anyone else loses their life? Where will this leave Niko & Zee? Will she stay to be with her mate? A good read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Zennia Day kept her eyes down and stayed quiet, knowing that one day, she’d escape.
When her chance comes, she finds herself on a road that takes her far from Massachusetts, all the way to North Carolina. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. Shiloh Walker is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book

I enjoyed nearly everything about this book! The writing style was mature and nuanced, Zee was exceptionally well written. Her flaws, her fears, her decisions, her friendships and her relationships. I adored the strength she grew into, and the past she escaped from. Her brothers and adopted family are all characters that interest me greatly; if this is not already a series, I do hope the author continues with stories for all of them. Wow. My only problem (sorry!) was Niko, unfortunately. He wasn't strong enough for her, I resented him throughout, and all the women he slept with making unnecessary appearances or being referred to made him distasteful to me. His character arc did not redeem him from past mistakes (I am usually a fan of second-chance romances, but only if the person earns it, and at no point do I feel like Nikolai did.) He did nothing in particular to make up for his past actions, he only ended up with Zee because of a biological imperative and her deciding to mate him regardless of him being basically a spoiled fuckboy.
I'm going to go now and look for other books by this author, because I feel like she's a superb writer and maybe my personal disconnect from the male lead in this story isn't a good judge of her talents. Thank you!

Walker's lastest PNR, A Prime's Passion, gives readers a hot, sexy, angst-filled second chance shifter romance that pinches your heart in a dozen different ways. There are some triggers of abuse and bullying. My only complaint was that I wanted more at the end. Hopefully, she'll revisit this world in the future.

It has been a long time since I've read a Shiloh Walker novel. Thankfully, A Prime's Passion was a wonderful reminder of what a great romance, paranormal author she is!

Zennia grew up in a broken pack. Where the strong tried to break the young and the old enough to do something about it weren't willing to stand up for the weak. Finally breaking free of that, she found herself in what should have been a safe place with a mate that would help her grow into the strong alpha female she could be. Instead, even he betrayed her with a banishment not long after making a public declaration of intent to mate.

Now, having had to flee Therian territory, Zee has been trying to rebuild her life. In Atargarian (mermaid) territory she has built a life but is working hard to hide her pack and touch withdrawal from her friends. Until the day that Niko comes calling to let her know her father is dying. Confronted with the man that betrayed her for no reason, forced to go home for funeral rights, Zee must figure out how to survive having to interact with her old pack as secrets and betrayals run rampant while keeping Niko from getting inside her defenses again. She won't allow him to break her when she worked so hard to live after him.

Shiloh Walker does an amazing job of bringing characters to life. She creates realistic worlds where shifters of all types are expected, common, and a part of society in such a way that I wish they were real!

Zee left her pack after the Prime's son rejected her. But she's made a life for herself with the Mer people and is content with her life.

Niko did a bad thing when he rejected the love of his life and she left the pack. Now he's looking for answers to questions and realizing that he made a horrible mistake years earlier.

In the world this author has created, humans and preternaturals or preterns all live together in a sort of peace, although not everyone is happy about it. There had been a war between the preterns and humans and now there was a kind of peace between them. Niko goes to get Zee because her father was dying but what he finds is a broken shell of what she once was because of having no contact with her pack. He realizes that he acted rashly because of a misunderstanding but it's going to take more than sorry for her to trust him again.

For ten years Niko had thought that Zee was with her old pack and was fine but turns out she's not had that at all and was far from alright. Without the pack to give her the physical touches a wolf shifter needed, she's actually in physical pain from lack of physical touch. Niko thought she had moved on maybe with another wolf but because of a misunderstanding, no other wolf would touch her because she was off limits. So when Niko shows up where she's made a life for herself with the Mer people, he's not met with open arms. Right away her friends have her back and let her know they will throw him off their land if she wishes it. But Zee doesn't want to cause problems between Niko who is Prime now and her friends or their people so after a bit of talking with him, she goes back to his pack for the funeral and wake for her father.

Because Zee is so touch starved and Niko has made it obvious he still wants her to be his mate, they end up together. Her excuse is so that she isn't so on edge and in pain when she's around his pack but they both wanted to be together. While they're trying to deal with the past, trust issues and them being mates...there's also a group of humans trying to kill them off. When one of the pack gets shot, Zee finds a way to tap into her other half and get help. Zee isn't just a wolf shifter, she's something more and it was great to watcher her start to figure out what that meant. There's a lot more to Zee than even she thought.

I liked how they found out who was behind the attempts on their lives and what the group had planned.

Watching the pack not know what to do with her now that she's back but when Zee finally shows how strong she is, some of the pack respect her show of strength. Niko and Zee were really great, it's just sad that it took so long for them to get back together but I do love a second chance romance and this was such a good one.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Zee has been alone for a long time. But it is becoming painful and dangerous. And then she learns her father is dying. Can she forgive the lies and humiliation that forced her to be alone and touch deprived?
A Prime's Passion is the latest story by Shiloh Walker. It has the feel on a new series but we will see where Ms. Walker will take us.
Zee has gotten used to bury her pain along with her power. She loved Niko but found his loveless than secure. When anger and pride cause a rift, will a death help mend it? I enjoyed finding out as Niko learns just how much damage was caused by careless words. Can Zee forgive? Can Niko repent? Will love find a way or will pride triumph? Ms. Walker takes us on a journey full of passion and forgiveness. I enjoyed seeing Zee and Niko come into their own in this new world Ms. Walker has created.

An intriguing, emotion-fueled, action-packed, shifter romance…

And one I hope is the start of a lengthy new series. Zee and Nikolai’s history was brief, but deep, and caused a splinter in both their lives…

Zee’s childhood, her whole life, was blanketed by betrayal and pain. She was still suffering the aftermath but trying to find a new way for herself. She had friends, people who loved her, but she needed to completely let go of the past. If only it would let her…

Nikolai was an alpha, the leader of his pack, but that didn’t mean he was infallible. Oh no, he was a tool. A fool really. Yet he was a good man, a wolf shifter that took his responsibilities seriously. His continued missteps were tempered with his heart though and I couldn’t help but hope he could figure things out without hurting Zee more...

The emotional drama was high and the story told with an eye, and heart, for what motivated men and women regardless of their species or gender. If the patriarch was alive and well and continuing to flex its tone-deaf muscles, it was encouraging to see it also be challenged. I wanted Nikolai to grovel a heck of a lot more and Zee find her voice much earlier but given their past I think it played out exactly as it was meant to…

Their love was not the only mystery to solve, however. So many questions left unanswered and so many characters I would love to learn about. And spend a lot more time with. Meridia, Shale, Boone, the Day brothers – I need to hear more from them all!

Loved this read. Zee has been running for 10 years. After the Primes son rejected her and she was cast from the pack, she made anew home with the mer people. When she finally finds someone who can give her what she needs her past steps in to interfere. Can Niko get Zee to let him back into her heart and her bed?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

It has been a minute between reads by this author. I don't know why because every time I read her books, I am thrilled with the story. This is a paranormal read that takes place in a dystopian future where preternaturals and humans live side by side. THey are not necessarily on board with each others existence but approach tolerable by most.

Zennia was cast put f her pack due to a misunderstanding. The story picks up 10 years later when her Prime (boss guy over all the other alpha's) comes to collect her. Niko has no idea what to expect nor is he thrilled to find out how much pain Zee hs been in by not having contact with the pack. The story follows their reconnection and the path to forgiveness. We also get some suspense and lots of pack and paranormal action.

I loved Zee a lot! She has overcome what lesser beings would have been broken by. She speaks her mind and when she comes into her own and lets her power free-----woooo! She is amazing!

I loved the world building. I read a lot of paranormal so it is always nice to come upon something fresh. Loved meeting the different races/creatures. Loved that a person could have multiple entities within them. Multi-racial if you will. But each entity could act independently if they wanted to. Interesting side characters along the way.

If I had a wish for more stories in this world, I would vote for more Meri, Boone, and any or all of Zee's brothers.

Best Paranormal I have read in a long time.

I remember once upon a time I read Shiloh Walker, then for some reason stopped. Now I wonder why I did that.
The beginning of the story was really suspenseful and full of angst - it was almost a little hard to read it. I got over it and read it like a good girl. Niko is an anti-hero who sort of redeems himself at the end of the story, meanwhile Zinnia is someone who has been betrayed and left to suffered. But she pulls trhough and becomes a better and stronger version of her old self. I was sadden that she was alone for 10 years and that Niko didnt do anything (like resign his claim on her), so she could find some solace with someone else.

Nice cover but it was the blurb that sucked me in! The authors name cinched it and I begged for a copy!

What did I like? This was an incredibly complicated story line. I enjoyed the read but there was so much going on it felt like a series in one book! So many characters that I was hoping this was a series and there would be more books!

Would I recommend or buy? I’d still recommend it but be prepared for a huge cast of characters and an even bigger plot. I love this author and have read many books from her before so I can’t wait to get a paperback copy!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review! Four stars!

One of my favorite tropes is rejected mates, but there are only so many of them around. The minute I saw this, I JUMPED for it. Was so excited to dive in and I was NOT disappointed. The story opens 10 years after Niko has rejected Zee and she is off, isolated from pack, trying to live without them. Circumstances arise that put them back into contact and from there the story really begins. I love the world created here, and how complex and layered not only this story was, but all the characters were. I loved Zee's brothers and Niko's packmates and can't wait to read more in this series.

This book has a lot of angst, but also a lot of steam and was everything I would want in a shifter, rejected mate book. I definitely would add this to the top of your TBR pile and I'm sure this will wind up being a re-read for me in the future!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Independent Publishers Group for the Advance Review Copy. I have voluntarily left an honest review.

Zinnia “Zee” Day has been living on cut off from her wolf pack for ten years after she was branded as an outcast by the prince of the pack, Niko; the very man who is now pack leader. Zinnia grew up in a very dysfunctional pack raised by an ambitious father who cared little for what his

machinations were doing to her or his sons. When she came to live in Niko’s pack, Zee thought she found the love and acceptance until he rashly repudiated and banned. They still have deep feelings for each other; however, Niko so profoundly wounded Zee she sees no way to ever forgive him. He essentially drags her back for a pack ceremony to try and win back the affections of the woman he never stopped loving despite making very unwise choices.

When Zee is called home because her father is dying, she refuses to go saying “I have no pack. I have no home.” Niko finally realizes that the things he accused Zee of were false based in part on a prejudice of her half fae heritage. Now as the Prime leader of the pack, Nico is determined to do what it takes to win Zee’s forgiveness. She is the woman who he knows is his mate although Niko has a long way to go to make up for his ill treatment, and for the many years Zee has suffered being cut off from his pack and her family.

The Therians, as shifters and other supernaturals are called, have a human enemy who would see them destroyed or at least, subjugated. With extreme prejudice this group has waged war on Nico’s North Carolina pack including assassinating his father. So not only is coming home for Zee fraught with hurt feelings and less than welcoming pack members, but she and Nico have to deal with enemies and spies as well while finding their way back as a couple. Fans of the prolific Ms. Walker will enjoy this new paranormal romance.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

What a great story! I was instantly sucked into the story from page one and I really never stopped until I finished the book. I love this new world full of different beings and how they are able (or not able, depending on who you ask) to change things to adapt to everyone.

My favorite part though? Zinnia. She is ridiculously strong and determined and she is a fighter. She's also crazy powerful when she stops hiding and I love seeing her put multiple people in their place when they overstep their grounds.

I also loved that the second Niko found out the truth about Zennia, he was in route to fix his mistake. And that he, a Prime, was willing to admit he made a mistake and apologize, many times, to make it right. Though it was 10 years too late, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Many readers are going to fall in love with this story and these characters! I'm glad I got the chance to read this novel.
