Hunter Evans was a firefighter. He died saving a child from a fire and is still struggling to adjust with his blood needs and the belief that he has become a monster.

Alice Darlington can see ghosts and has a special way of communicating with animals. She runs an animal rescue sanctuary and is determined to rescue as many as she can, no matter what kind of animal they are. Her parents 'committed' her as a child, where she was severely abused. She managed to escape but she is still hunted.

Alice keeps strict hours for helping ghosts and when she ran into Hunter she thought he was a ghost. That was the beginning of the rabbit hole she fell into. Hunter was intrigued and followed her home, changing her world forever.

They might have an attraction but their past and emotional issues seem to keep getting in the way. Never mind the fact they are both being hunted, and those that are hunting them seem to be joining forces.

The story and characters at first glance are interesting but while Day gives us snippets of their past, the details are few and very surface level. I wanted more depth and background. All that I enjoyed from the first book seems a bit scattered in this one. While the witty banter is still there, it often felt forced. The steam fell flat and the ability to suspend belief just wasn't there for me in this one. I'm hoping the next book is more like the first.

Nigglies:
-He agreed to be turned so why did he agree if he thought he would become a monster? This bothered me throughout the story.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a let down for me. Don’t get me wrong, I can see the talent the author has, but the story line…..and the characters…..were, well, a bit flat for me. I wanted more from the story and didn’t get it.

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!

I read this without knowing it was the second book in a series, but that did not throw me off the story. It can definitely be read as a stand alone. The book was a bit fast paced, but so good! I will be going back to read book 1.

Hunter's Hope attempts to be a dark, MC, vampire narrative with some good steam. However, Day really is writing a paranormal rom-com with fade-to-black vibes.

Highly entertaining, emotional and action-packed adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists, exciting turns and undeniable passion. A thrilling journey from beginning to end, and so hard to put down.

I liked the premise of the story but something was missing for me (I'm not sure what but something). However I do recommend this book because the story itself is solid and I believe majority of readers will enjoy it.

Hunter and Alice lives are in turmoil. He was a firefighter turned vampire and she can see ghosts. They both have their secrets but bands together when their threats come after them. Will this duo be able to thwart their foes while staying ahead of the game and will it lead them to happiness together? This story kept me glued to the pages! I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Unfortunately I had to DNF this ok because the book was a bit too much for me in terms of paranormal romance aspect and its because personally I am not into it too much.

I usually really enjoy speculative / paranormal romances, but this romance was difficult for me to get into--the pace at which it progressed (assisted by the female protagonist's silly internal dialogue) took me out of the immersive experience I typically enjoy from other works in this genre.

As with the first book in the series, I have to round up that half star for the mere fact that I found myself laughing-out loud more times than I expected.

I had been looking forward to Hunter's story. I had already read Bane's story, who was an "ancient" vampire, so I was curious to see what the author came up with to explain the intricacies of a "newborn" vampire--his acceptance of this new "life", his adaptability, etc.

I found Hunter's story interesting, especially his "nice guy" side in contrast with his vampire nature. I think the author did a great job in balancing his old persona with this new side of him, showing the reader all the ways Hunter struggled to adapt while still dealing with the feelings Alice brought out in him.

I enjoyed the diverse cast of characters. The inclusion of werewolves, ghosts and demons served to expand the world the author had established in book one while still keeping the overall vibe from the first book. I enjoyed trying to decipher friend from foe and coming up with my own conclusions about it. I do have to say that the story dragged a bit in the beginning. Thankfully, as more characters were introduced and I got to see Hunter and Alice's romance bloom the story picked up pace and I was fully engaged, especially since Hunter and Alice's chemistry was pretty explosive . Their romance read a little insta-lovey, yet I found myself cheering them on and wanting them together.

All in all, an overall entertaining read and a great addition to the series. I can't wait to see what Alyssa Day comes up with next!

This book was a fun and fast paced read with a little bit of mystery tied in as well. Alice was such a sweet character who adapted so quickly to the change of pace since having a meet cute with Hunter. I also love how their found family spoils them whenever they can. Overall a great read. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Oh I am late to be reviewing, this, but I loved it. I have only recently discovered this author and really enjoyed the first book in this series: Bane's Choice, featuring the 'mortal' Dr Ryan St Cloud and the head of the Vampire Motorcycle Club, the actual Vamp Bane. In that book Hunter, is a mortal firefighter about to die after a fire, he gets turned into a vampire to save him.

When this book opens, he is newly turned and trying to come to terms with his life as it is now.
He bumps into Alice, as she is chasing an animal from her shelter, and although he is attracted to her, he think of himself as a monster, and Alice is a human. He is also used to always being in the friend zone as a human so thinks that it will be no different now.

What he doesn't know is that Alice has some paranormal abilities of her own - she can see 'ghosts' and talk to them and animals. she also has a secret of her own, that means that she is in danger. Hunter struggles with the new urges and habits his vampire self creates in him, and being around Alice helps to ground him a bit.

The supernatural plot between evil warlocks and vampires, and how Alice and Hunter fit into it, keep the book moving along, and this was really interesting and we also get lots of page time for Bane & Ryan, and particularly Edge and Meara and the werewolves, so I am eagerly anticipqating the rest of this series, I think book 3 is out in November - not sure I can wait that long!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, and all opinions are my own.

I can't get enough of the Vampire Motorcycle Club Series by Alyssa Day. I fell in love with the cast of characters in the first book Bane's Choice then in the newest book Hunter's Hope I fell even harder. Alyssa Day's writing kept me hooked and entertained. I loved the relationship between Hunter and Alice.

I have been a huge fan of Alyssa Day since I stumbled onto the Atlantis warriors series by chance in a random used bookstore and was thrilled when she decided to try her hand at a new series, especially one that combined two of my favorite tropes—you just can’t go wrong with vampire bikers. This series is one with a lot of interesting characters, mythos, and interactions with other paranormal creatures that keep things not just interesting but filled with fun little side stories. Book one was a little slow just because there was a lot of world building but the characters and the love story were fascinating and I was dying to read the next book. Hunter’s story picks up shortly after book one, with him recovered from his turn to vampire, but still getting control over his new instincts and skills. Almost dying in a fire trying to save innocent, Hunter was given the choice to turn and though he had some doubts decided it was worth a shot, but now he is having a lot of problems with his new desires. When he runs into the delectable Alice Darlington while roaming around town he is beyond fascinated with her and finds himself following her home to figure out why. Alice is the local ghost whisperer but her dream is to just help the animals that she loves, but when she runs into the strange and sexy Hunter her life changes forever. Little do either of them know that they have a shared enemy and they are right at Alice’s front door, ready to kill or capture her and only Hunter and his new family can keep her safe. Alice has to come to terms with the hidden world of vampires, shifters and so much more that she never knew existed and at the same time deal with the draw she feels to the sexy vampire who is taking over her mind and heart. Because if she doesn’t trust her new allies, the enemy that has been after her since she was a child will win and that will be disaster for all paranormals. I beyond loved this story, it was literally impossible to put down and stop reading. Alice was hilarious, naïve, sweet, and compassionate, but at the same time she stood up for what she believed in, fought for her freedom, and once she offered her trust and love she went all in and never backed down. I loved watching her interactions with her animal friends, especially Charlie, and the ghosts were fun too, but the way she handles Hunter as they get to know one another had me in tears from laughing so hard. Alice has a personality that is beyond unique but that I could see making her one of my best friends; she is just one of those women that would draw everyone to her and if she judges you as worthy of her attention you’d feel special. Hunter was one of the most honorable and confused heroes I’ve read in a while. Being a true hero in his human life and then finding himself suddenly thinking of those he once protected as prey now is seriously messing with his head, but the worst part is his fear that he is turning into a monster. When he meets Alice he knows that he wants her ferociously, but he also fears that he will bring her harm, even though there is no way he can resist getting to know her. Slowly he comes to terms with his new nature and instincts with the help of his acquired family and Alice herself, but there are some close calls and more than a few moments of intensity as his drives lead him astray. The battle he fought with himself showed his integrity, his sweetness toward Alice even in their intense moments, and the way he protected her as he helped her grown made him a great match for her. The passion between these two was a fire that had moments where it was banked, but it certainly burned hot when they fed it with their willingness to give into one another. This series is one that tackles some fun issues, brings in interesting storylines and overall epic battles, while still focusing on the love of two people that should never work together but ultimately do. I am dying for the next book which has been building for a while, even though I fear it might be the series finale, but either way I am sure Ms. Day will amaze and astound us with the next one since it has a lot riding on its shoulders with the lovers we have been waiting for. If you are looking for a story that will keep you roped in with laughs, drama, suspense, and sensuality you can’t go wrong with Hunter’s Hope and the sexy Vampire MC that has taken over Savannah!

This book is part of a series and it's best read in order. The books, while featuring a new central character each instalment, has an intertwining plot.

A sure way to make me fall in love with a character is their affinity for animals. Alice stole my heart with her dedication to saving animals and seeing the best in all of them, even a mischievous ferret and a demon dog.

I'm a big fan of this series for it's well rounded characters, word building and intruging plot. I mean who can resist a vampire motor cycle club. It's a perfect blending of two of my favorite themes

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
