Hunter is a newly turned vampire who meets Alice, the animal and ghost whisperer. Sparks fly, and did I mention the cute dragon baby Charlie? Sadly didn't read book one, and this is book two, but for the most part was not lost. Good story, good characters and would highly recommend this book and series and author.
I really liked Hunter and Alice together. So sweet.

Last year when I read book one I definitely had some mixed feelings about it. This story definitely improved with the layers of characters with their own unique talents.
Hunter is a newly turned vampire and is innately attracted to a brand new character who is gifted with the capability to speak to animals and ghosts. This can be quite a difficult situation when you were bombarded.
She gets caught up in their world and Hunter steps up to protect even though he is just learning has powers. Between the both of them the author crafts a wild and humorous story that is entertaining and fun, with clashes of fierce power and fight against enemies.
Plus, Hunter is on fire in the bedroom. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Together they are burning bright and that is a the type of character development that keeps those pages turning!!
Day has created a story full of vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and other things that go bump in the night, along with climactic clashes of all kinds! Exciting and enjoyable!
I love this series! Hunter and Alice are adorable ... and combustible. They love each other unconditionally. Though Hunter struggles with what he has become, Alice's gentle hand guides him out of his darkest moments. I'm not sure if the author is trying to set up a storyline, but with all the talk of how nasty Hunter's change was, there was no action on trying to figure out why that was. Also, unless I misinterpreted something, it was unclear what Hunter's superpower turned out to be. I couldn't distinguish it from the blood rage. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read, and I look forward to the next installment.
4.5 out of 5 stars. Really enjoyed this book. Flowed well and interesting story. I adored Alice's sweet nature, and I wanted to hug Charlie! I hope we get more of Charlie in future novels! Definitely recommend but may be better understood if Bane's Choice is read first.
Hunter's Hope (Vampire Motorcycle, #2) by Alyssa Day
This is the second book in this series and it not only kept me on the edge of my seat - it kept me laughing, sometimes shedding some tears and scared. This has all our friends from the first book plus new ones - but it is Hunter Evans (once firefighter now vampire) and Alice Darlington (she sees and talks to ghosts). There are lots of twists and turns, angst, terror, evil demons, some blood and gore, lots of laughter, love and steam to get us to their HEA. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Page-turner Easy-to-read Action-packed Tear-jerker Entertaining Unpredictable Great word building Steamy Romantic Happily Ever After Funny Scary Wonderful characters Haunting Twisted
Hunter's Hope is the second in The Vampire Motorcycle Club series by Alyssa Day. You do not need to have read book one to enjoy this book, but there are references that make more sense if you have. In Hunter's Hope, Hunter is coming to terms with his new life as a vampire, not just the blood drinking but the powers, living in the mansion, learning about other supernaturals, etc. Alice owns an animal rescue, tries to fly under the radar so that the people who held her captive for much of her childhood don't find her, and can see ghosts (though she's only open to help them on Wednesdays between 10am and 2pm). Hunter and Alice have an instant attraction and their personalities work really well together.
There are some very funny scenes in this book, I burst out laughing several times. Charlie and Ferret Beuller, as well as Alice's other rescue animals are very entertaining. And there's a scene where vampires, werewolves, and a ghost whisperer have a movie night where they roast movies that portray characters with their powers. Priceless!
Overall, this was a good book. It had a great pace, just enough heart, suspense, and humor, and set up the next book nicely. There are some things I wish we'd seen, like a Wednesday at Alice's, just to get a little more time with the main characters, but there's nothing inherently missing in the story. I look forward to the rest of this series and other Alyssa Day books.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great book by Alyssa Day.
I love Paranormal Romance, and a loved the story because it integrated a lot of paranormal verses into one story.
That characters were well developed and liked, the heroine was strong in her own right and never backed down.
This promises to be a superb series and I absolutely cannot wait for the third book. I read the first one which I enjoyed so much and was happy to be approved for this, the second one. The characters are vibrant, the story captivating and it is thoroughly fun and delightful to read. Hunter is a firefighter, recently turned into a vampire. He meets Alice, a quirky ghost whisperer who also runs an animal rescue center. The story had me laughing and crying and I loved it!

Alice is very much an animal person. They don't judge her for being odd and having a couple of weird talents...like seeing & talking to ghosts or picking up on feelings from her animals. She made a fresh life for herself when she escaped the Insitute and she is staying off their radar!
Hunter is a proverbial newborn Vampire! He's weeks old and dealing with fangs, feeding, and how to explain things to his firehouse! He has a couple of weeks to get a grip on his new life or he's going to have to give up all he's worked for.
Neither of them expected the attraction they feel and Hunter is desperate not to let his vampy side out of the bag to anyone but when they first meet she thinks he's a ghost. Needless to say, Alice still gets her eyes opened to all manner of supernaturals when she gets pulled into the bedlam that is Hunter's new life.
I have no idea why Hunter got friend zoned so much - he's an absolute dreamboat! He and Alice are just to dang cute together! He's a great mash-up of alpha hero but with naive vampire added on top. Alice is pretty naive too, having been institutionalised for much of her life and I loved how she blossomed under the care of Hunter and the sheer forces of nature that are Meara and Ryan!
PS One of my fave funny scenes don't even involve Hunter or Alice - it's a certain part-angel trying to throw herself off the roof LOL
Hunter Evans was a firefighter until the night he died saving a child, then was turned into a vampire. Now, he has urges that are difficult if not impossible to control. When he meets Alice Darlington, a woman who sees and speaks to ghosts and animals, his sudden need to constantly protect her is almost impossible to control. Maybe because he has feelings for her he never thought he would ever have..
Alice Darlington spent years of her life locked in an institution, controlled by a heinous doctor who swore he would never let her go, until she finally managed to escape.
Now the new family that Hunter has is also accepting Alice into their fold, whether she wants it or not.
This book gives you all the feels, and you will love the characters so much, you won't want it to end!
2.5 stars
Hunter's Hope is the second in a supernatural series by Alyssa Day. I did not read the first novel, and I was thinking that maybe it was important to the plot of this story, but in reading some of the other reviews, it looks like that's not the case. That said, there is an overarching storyline that appears to be spreading its way through the series.
In this story, Hunter is a former firefighter-turned vampire. In fact, the story begins just weeks after his turning, and he's still trying to get the hang of what it means to be a vampire. He all but runs into Alice as she chases her raccoon into an elevator that he's in the process of departing, and from the first, he's smitten.
Alice runs an animal rescue. We learn that she is able to communicate to both ghosts and animals. We also learn that she's been on her own for a while after escaping from a Very Bad Place. Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear that Very Bad People from the Very Bad Place are still after her, and they are somehow tied to the vampires.
Hunter and his friends (vampires, werewolves, and an angel) accept Alice into their fold, and they vow to help protect her while also looking for their own Very Bad People (which is where the overarching storyline comes in).
Also, there's a cute demon.
I really really wanted to like this book, and in the beginning, I did. Hunter is adorable, and Alice is both brave and artless. However, too much of the story revolves around the two of them feeling each other out (and up) and generally overthinking everything. I wanted to know a lot more about Alice's past. There's a brief bit about her early life, but it is very unclear how she discovered her abilities and how she ended up in the VBPlace with the VBPeople or how exactly the VBPeople used her. I'm not even entirely sure what she does to help ghosts out (though she takes appointments from 10 to 2 on Wednesdays). With regard to Hunter, his life as a human is also glossed over. I believe some of his story is told in the previous book, but as this is his story, it seems incomplete without it.
Much of the story seems to hang on the screwball-comedy element, with snappy dialog and witty banter, rather than an actual plot. Alice giggles a lot and Hunter laughs. Characters with no clear purpose pop up (pirate ghost, I'm looking at you). It reads a lot like the book was written in chunks and then stitched together without rereading it for flow. Overall, it's a readable novel, but it's just not a particularly engaging one.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!
This is an entertaining read with some fun and some anguish. Alice is on the run from the monster who has kept her captive and used her. She is a delightful character and I enjoyed her innocent ways.
A cute, easy, fun, sweet read.
I usually like the flesh out my reviews with thoughts on what worked, what didn't, etc. But with this book its very WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). It was a very cute supernatural romance. I really liked the supporting friends and will be reading more books in this series. It's just adorable, escapism,
Thank you to the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review.
Second book in the Vampire Motorcycle club series starts at a fast pace and never lets up. Hunter newly turned vampire is immediately attracted to Alice ghost whisperer but only on a Wednesday. Running an animal rescue centre Alice accidentally takes in a minor daemon sent to watch her. Alice’s past will play a large part in their relationship but her time in the institute will bring the Chamber members after her power. Really strong characters with well fleshed out friends really sets this story alight and you will wish to follow their journey into the next story.
I was given an arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I read book 1 in this series and enjoyed it so was happy to read book 2, Hunters Hope.
Hunter is a newly turned vampire who meets Alice a quirky fun character.
Hunter is a good man adjusting to his new life with his new ready-made vampire family.
Alice I really liked, she is kind and dedicated to her animal sanctuary and also to helping her ghost visitors.
There's a real pull between Alice and Hunter and things do move very quickly.
The author develops all the characters through the book and it's entertaining seeing them all chatting and helping one another when needed. There's a good dash of humour within the dialogue.
All in all an enjoyable PNR read.

Okay but Hunter is so cute lol. Like adorable. Anyway this was a cute quick read. Would definitely recommend to a friend. And would read more in the series. 4⭐
Hunter's Hope is a fantastic paranormal romance by Alyssa Day. This is my first read by this author and I didn't bother reading the blurb, so it was a great surprise. I don't usually read vampire paranormal, but honestly, this one grabbed me right away and I read it cover to cover with a short break to grab lunch. Ms. Day has given us a well-written book. The characters are spectacular and just plain fun. Hunter is a newly turned vampire and bumps into Alice and her racoon at a hotel. Alice has her own little quirk, she talks to ghosts and communicates with animals. Hunter and Alice's story is packed with drama, laugh-out-loud humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from Alyssa Day in the future. Hunter's Hope is book 2 of the Vampire Motorcycle Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.5 STARS
Newly turned vampire, firefighter Hunter Evans, lost his human life saving a child from a fire. Now in this new world, Hunter must learn to control his considerable powers, and the potential monster within by learning from and getting the help of his vampire family. After threatening the life and safety of Alice Darlington who runs the local animal rescue shelter, Hunter vows to protect her no matter the cost, personal or otherwise.
Alice Darlington is no stranger to the supernatural as she is a ghost whisperer; however, it is news to her that vampires, werewolves and other assorted supernaturals exist. Once she becomes part of Hunter’s world, Alice feels she has found a family, something she never had before. Alice is being stalked by an old adversary who is determined to use her for nefarious dark magic purposes as well as the power-hungry warlocks and their familiars who want to overthrow Hunter’s group.
While struggling to learn all the rules for his new life, Hunter quickly decides that Alice is his, and despite the caveman feel, Alice is equally entranced by Hunter. She has never really dated or a boyfriend so this is all new territory for Alice. There are several enemies known and unknown who seek to overcome and wipe out their friends while Hunter has to learn in high gear how to control his vampire traits and tendencies.
This book is the second in this paranormal romance series, the Vampire Motorcycle Club set in the sultry city of Savannah that lends its self to ghost stories and flights of imagination. It is not necessary to read the first book, BANE’S CHOICE; however, several of the important characters are introduced there first.
The second book in Alyssa Day’s paranormal romance series Vampire Motorcycle Club, Hunter’s Hope follows newly turned vampire Hunter Evans as he meets and falls in love with animal rescuer Alice Darlington. However, Alice has a secret that once revealed, could threaten her very existence. Can she trust Hunter with the truth, and what will happen when threats, old and new, find her? Can Hunter protect Alice when he can’t always control himself?
Used to being in the friend zone, Hunter can’t believe a woman like Alice could be interested in him, especially considering his challenges as a vampire still learning the ropes. Hunter is trying to adjust to his new vampiric life, and it is sometimes a struggle to control his urges. Hunter hates feeling helpless, and he is frustrated as he learns the ins and outs of being a vampire. I think Alice gives him hope when he feels a little hopeless.
Hunter’s feelings for Alice are strong, and their connection is instant. Personally, I’m surprised Hunter was constantly put in the friend zone. He is absolutely dreamy (minus the whole blood-sucking thing)! He’s kind and patient and passionate, thoughtful and protective. I love how devoted he is to Alice and to his friends. He is a good and honorable person, and the way he feels about Alice is swoon-tastic. They fit together so well and make a great couple.
Alice is a great character too. She’s a caring and compassionate woman who totally wears her heart on her sleeve. She is also a survivor, and she never gives up. I love her fighting spirit and her resilience. She learns so much about the supernatural world in this book, and she handles all of this new knowledge with grace, understanding, and humor. Considering everything she’s been through in the past and in the present, her ability to remain positive and hopeful is admirable.
The friendships are another highlight of the novel. Hunter, Bane, Edge, Ryan, Meara, and many of the werewolves have this great connection, and I adore their times together. There is an easiness to their friendships, which is built on trust, loyalty, and respect. Their witty banter and innate understanding and support of each other are fantastic! As much as they tease and threated and torment each other, there is a lot of love there, and they are more family than friends.
There is an overarching plot that adds a lot of suspense and action to the story. Power-hungry warlocks, supernatural battles, demons, and more threaten the delicate balance among the supernaturals, and Hunter, Alice, and the others are at the heart of the conflict. There are several twists and revelations in this messy and dangerous battle of good and evil, and it will be interesting to see how this aspect of the plot progresses.
I thought this was a great addition to the Vampire Motorcycle Club series, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next book. There were a few potential love stories hinted at in this book, and I’m curious to see who will be the focus of the next one. I think readers who enjoy sweet and steamy paranormal romances will enjoy this read, and I’m thankful to Entangled Amara, Alyssa Day, and NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
Second book in this series, but it works well as a stand-alone. Simple world building, modern day Savannah and the characters are just your simple vampires, werewolves and ghost whisperer, with a charming minor demon and a pirate thrown in. It is fun, entertaining, romantic, and suspenseful, wondering when the evil warlock is going to show up so everything has to come together. Enjoyed it! I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a honest and voluntary review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.
