When Sophie Jordan decides to start with a bang she really starts with a bang. IYKYK. Such creative structure and suspense created here. Love it!

This is my favorite book in the series so far. I really enjoyed the love story from start to finish. I do enjoy a book with a rake. There is chemistry and all of the secondary characters add to the story. I can’t wait until the next book.

Loved the story and mains, Mercyand Silas. How far will one lady go to restore what was lost by her brother? How far will they both go to obtain what they find what their hearts desired? Enjoyable read that's definitely recommended.
Thank you Sophie Jordan, Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

Sophie Jordan is another HR writer that I absolutely adore. When Mercy Kittinger's boneheaded brother gambles away her family’s farm, she’s determined to get it back even if it means committing a felony. Nearly getting caught leads to a fiery one-night stand with club owner Silas that leads to forever. What an adventure of a book

Thank you for allowing me to read this book. I was drawn in from the very first chapter. Mercy and Silas were drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. I love the chemistry. Bede was a sorry excuse for a brother/guardian. I wanted to throttle him myself. I do not know if there are other stories to go with this one but I look forward to reading them if it is.

Sophie Jordan does it again with another great romance! I loved the vibe and laughed out loud over Mercy and her sister’s relationship. I loved the down to earth feel of the characters and the realistic expectations. It made me delve deeper in wanting to discover Mercy’s world.

Mercy’s one time meeting with Silas, the owner of a gambling establishment turns into something unexpected when he finds a possession missing. He won’t let her get away with her stealing and quickly puts the pieces of the puzzle together.

I would rate this a five out of five. I also loved the fact I saw other characters in other books. This Netgalley ARC was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Strong and passionate, Mercy has been managing her family since the age of 10, with a wastrel hindrance of a twin brother and a younger sister she has parented herself. To save their family home she seduces Silas, whereupon a delightful romance ensues.

I loved The Duke Goes Down, so I was very excited to begin the next book in Sophie Jordan's The Duke Hunt series. The Rake Gets Ravished is a wonderful second addition to this series. It began with an intriguing first line that hade me hooked from the beginning! The main characters Silas and Mercy had great chemistry. It was refreshing to see that Mercy, the main character, was not so sheltered from the world. I really enjoyed how their relationship progresed throughout the book. I also liked that the love interest was so supportive of Mercy in various ways throughout the book. I was so invested in their relationship, and the overall story that I actually read this book in JUST ONE DAY! It was a great way to get out of a reading slump! Thank you NetGalley for providing me with the eARC for this book! Now, on to the sequel!

I delayed reading this one because of the low reviews that posted and I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t try it on my own.

I loved Mercy and Silas. They’re both good, loyal people with chemistry for days. I loved their open communication and how they worked together. I wanted to punch mercy’s brother or see him get junk punched by a horse or something.

Plot wise, it’s good. It wasn’t all fluff, but it wasn’t super angsty either. Everything moved quickly and before I knew it, the story was over. I could have done with more of these two together.

Overall, it was a fun read with characters who were so easy to root for.

**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

I was really excited to read this book. I love all of Sophie Jordan’s historical romances. The Rake Gets Ravished is a pretty catchy title, given that it is usually the other way around. Particularly exciting is that you do not have to wait long for a sizzling sex scene. It totally happens in the beginning as Mercy Kittinger visits Silas’s gaming hell to retrieve the voucher that lost the family farm her brother gambled away. Without the farm, Mercy would not have a place to live and it was just a long line of trouble that her brother brought upon her, when all she was doing was trying to survive. Mercy was looking for the voucher in Silas’ private room and she was about to get caught. She pretended that she was waiting for Silas and offered herself to him. She did steal the voucher back and burned it when she got home. Silas realized her deception and went looking for her. It just keeps getting better and better.

I laughed out loud quite a few times at some of the dialogue between Mercy and Silas. The development of their relationship was just so fun to read. Some parts are frustrating, some parts are sad, but they all lead to a happy ending. The chemistry is hot, Silas is swoony and Mercy has quite a modern look on sexual relationships. That was an unexpected surprise for the time period of this book. It’s a fast-paced story. Perfect for a beach or weekend read. Oh, and the cover is HOT. I loved it and am looking forward to the next one.

The Rake Gets Ravished is just as good as Sophie Jordan's others books. Lots of spice, a great plot that moves quickly, and amazing characters. Silas is your typical bad boy deciding what kind of revenge is sweetest for Mercy, the minx who seduced him and then stole back the deed to her family home.

Mercy herself is not the type to normally seduce men. She's sweet and smart but hey... sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I found the storyline more in depth than some historical romance novels who flit over details and I love the way the characters are developed.

Move this up on your TBR if you haven't read it yet!

This book was a quick, fun read. The heroine, Mercy Kittinger, a girl from the country, visits London dressed scandalously where she visits a gaming hell to steal her brother's gambling IOU for their family farm. When caught by the owner, she distracts him by seducing him. Mercy disappears during the night with the voucher, returning home to the family farm she runs and to her wastrel brother and spoiled younger sister. Silas, the gambling hell owner tracks her to the farm to wreak his revenge and instead, their relationship begins to grow as they learn more about each other.

I enjoyed the characters as each changed for the better (excepting the brother) as a result of their relationships and experiences with each other. Silas and Mercy's chemistry was believable and the way Silas and Mercy start to care for each other reflects the personal changes they're experiencing. I found the dialogue between the characters amusing and Mercy's straight-forward attitude toward sex refreshing.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

The Rake Gets Ravished (The Duke Hunt #2). By Sophie Jordan. Avon. 2022 (ARC eBook).

With The Rake Gets Ravished we get a happily ever after for London rogue Silas Masters, and his unexpected seductress, Mercy Kittinger, when she seeks to undo the actions of her irresponsible brother. I always enjoy reading Sophie Jordan and for book two in The Duke Hunt series I enjoyed the spark that flared between the two and grew into dedication and sacrifice, while still being a lot of fun, romping read. I look forward to the next book.

Well written story, set with great characters. Enjoyable from beginning to end. Silas and Mercy are hot together and some characters are hateable while others are very likable. I will look for more from this author.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

I really LOVED the first 2/3 (or so) of this book... but the last 1/3 was a bit of a let down. If you're okay with the "villain" not being punished, maybe you'll enjoy it more, but that just doesn't sit right with me.

The highlight of any M/F romance (for me) is a woman taking the lead and being sexually aggressive and this book definitely delivered on that. It's especially refreshing to see that in a historical romance, even if the heroine is sexually-inexperienced. I'm a longtime fan of Sophie Jordan's books and this one definitely does not disappoint. These might be some of her best spicy scenes to date, too!

This was a great installment to the series and, I loved Silas and Mercy, they had such great chemistry and it was clear from the start, that they belonged together. The book has witty banter, steamyish love scenes, great secondary characters, elopements, shocking surprises, a loser brother who get his due, and finally a HEA.

Silas is not a rake – far from it and I do wish Silas’ backstory had gotten a bit more page time, I also wish that he put up more of a fight in the end, but really those things are minor and I loved this story! The book is part of The Duke Hunt series but is it very loosely connected and this book can easily be read as a standalone title.

It took me longer to get into this book than normal, but I really enjoyed the hero and heroine once it got going. IIt is quite sexy early on, and then we get to know the characters much better in the aftermath.

Silas in particularly was a pleasure to read about. I love his appreciation for Mercy and his willingness to literally get into the mud to help her. Mercy has to be the adult in her family, and I think Jordan does a great job showing the challenges a woman of her class could face, balancing between gentility and potential ruin. I really appreciated the dynamic with her sister, and I look forward to seeing if the next book in the series deals with the female blacksmith we meet here.

I do not think you need to have read the first book in the series to enjoy this one, though characters make an appearance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher.

Video Review Pending.

I sometimes have issues with historical romances, and the main character changing 3/4's through. This book did not have that issue. I loved our main character, and how she took charge of her own life, and also taking the power of running her family. Women having to run things from behind the facade of a man who is "the head of the house" is still prevalent, and seeing a woman take control was powerful.

I also had no issues with the love interest, (which is half the reason the main character changes, thus me not enjoying the last 1/4). He was confident, knew himself well enough, but was open enough with his feelings to allow change in his life. Its refreshing to see, and I greatly appreciated it.

Even the miss-communication was done in such a way that I wasn't hating it. They were communicating, but it was the digestion of the information upon being received. In the modern world this is often found in online communication. It was handled so well.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. I wish this book all of the luck. I know that Sophie is a beloved historical romance author, and she has a new fan in me.

The Rake Gets Ravished is the second book in Sophie Jordan's Duke Hunt series. The first book of the series, The Duke Goes Down, was a such a fast, sizzling read and I was so excited to read the next book! Sophie Jordan created one of my new favorite heroes in this book -- Silas, a bad boy who fell so hard for his leading lady. Mercy is determined to save her family and will do whatever it takes, but she didn't mean to actually fall for Silas. The banter, tension, and constant will they-won't they was done so well. Fans of Eva Leigh will love this book and series!
