Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for providing me with an e-arc.

I always feel like poetry is hit or miss. Either you connect with it or you don't. In this case I just didn't, probably because the format of the arc as well it was all just one big blurb of text.

For me though it felt like sentences strung together and it didn't touch me.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher of this book for providing this e-ARC for an honest review. This collection of poems by Elodie Parthenay is easy to connect because it focused on love, loss and pain. They are beautifully written that it feels like reading a story, an experience of someone. Sadly it is a miss for me since I did not enjoy it as much as some people do, and I might not remember the words in it. I think this is perfect for beginners in poetry since the poems are easy to comprehend.

One stanza that I really like:

you're focusing
so much on how
you feel about them that
you're forgetting how
they're making you feel

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher for approving me for this ARC!

This book was just so beautifully done, I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bare to put it down. It spoke to me in a way that poetry hadn’t done for years.

I truly believe this book needs lots of love and everyone needs to read it

This is a beautiful collection of poetry. Elodie takes us on a journey from an abusive relationship through learning how to fall in love with people who deserve you and ultimately falling in love with yourself. It has a clear, honest direction and I felt like I was going on that journey with her. Her descriptions of experiencing gaslighting were vivid. The healthier relationships that followed were so clearly different and I found myself rooting her her even. Her descriptions of the ending of relationships was heartbreaking and raw. My favorite portions were the end where she focused on learning to love herself and the importance of friendships and the power of motherhood. You could see how her perspective and view of herself completely transformed and the sections written about wanting better for her daughter were beautiful.
I would definitely recommend this book. You could read it quickly or take your time to savor each part. Elodie has such a way with words and I look forward to reading future work she puts out.

This book of poems shows a journey of growth. The path youu experience with lovers, loved ones and yourself. I found that the Forest section spoke to me, honing in on the importance of self care and forgiveness. It made my mind and thoughts be seen and heard. Arranged into a beautiful manner followed by the Bloom section I can understand why the poems were placed in the order they were.

Not all the poems spoke to me, as they won't always, but I really enjoyed this collection.

Disclosure: Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

This collection of poetry has my full heart. All the poems lead to the journey of growth and positivity while bringing out the essence of being human. Each poem tugs at the heart strings because somewhere deep it touches us and makes us think about ourselves, how our growth has been through the roles that we have been through and the situations that we have. This book is warm and emotional , filled up with snug words that gives the reader a warm feeling with sometimes sadness or melancholy hitting. Thank you to the author and the publishing house for accepting my request. Absolutely loved it.

I feel like this collection of poetry pulled me in and took me on a journey of healing with the goal of self love.

It begins in a place of pain and loss of hope, flowing through the emotions and uncertainty that come with losing touch with yourself. Next, it exemplifies how sometimes it takes outside forces of love to help us learn how to love ourselves. Ultimately, it leads to the refocusing of ones energy on oneself and the power that comes from self love.

I thought this poetry was beautifully executed and thoughtfully arranged. The poems flowed smoothly with direction and purpose. I felt like it was taking me by the hand and leading me somewhere better than where I started.

I would recommend this collection to anyone who has ever doubted themselves, doubted love, or is looking for signs of hope.

This was lovely. It was a lot of what I have been looking for in poetry that I haven't found. It wasn't many of the one-line "inspirational" statements that have no depth or meaning, it felt deeper and more personal, but not so much so that I couldn't follow or connect.

Really enjoyed this! It was so raw and relatable which is everything that I look for in a poetry book personally! I look forward to reading more work from the writer!

Have you ever started a book, movie, or show, having a certain expectation, but coming out pleasantly surprised. That's how I felt with The Sun Always Knows Where To Find Me. It was brutally honest with its stance on love, loss, self-discovery, and personal empowerment. This poetry book is split into multiple parts, part one deals with topics of grief and loss of a significant other. The details that were drawn in my mind were so vivid I felt like I was there when the narrator was grieving like I was seeing it with my own eyes. Part two talks about falling in love, it made me yearn to feel the way the narrator did. I won't explain all the parts but I will say that my heart hurt so much at some points. The authenticity and absolute love and dedication that went into this book made me feel all gut-wrenching emotions of heartbreak but also the beauty and joy of love and acceptance of ourselves.

"i promised myself that i
would be less reckless with my heart yet
here i am again
holding my faith tight
and bracing for a blow that
i hope never comes"

This is a beautiful piece. I didn't enjoy all the poems, but some of them we're very beautiful, sincere and pure. This is a very personal book and I could related to many poems written in it. This is the author's debut book and I think she's talented and has a lot of potential. Thank you so much for sharing this magical poetry collection with us. Rating: 4/5 stars.

The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me is an excellent collection of poems from Elodie Parthenay.

Many touch on love, heartbreak, self love, and motherhood. I definitely enjoyed the Forest and Bloom sections of this collection the most. These poems felt strongest in their originality and creativity.

Other sections were lovely and definitely touched on important emotions and subjects as well, but they felt similar to a number of recent works I have come across. Still great, I would recommend this to fans of Rupi Kaur.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For me "The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me" felt a bit like instapoetry, which isn't a bad thing! It should be accessible, simple, easy on the eye. Elodie Parthenay's collection is visually appealing and pleasant. However, I would've preferred for this style to be disclosed upfront.

I liked this, but it wasn't my favourite poetry book I've ever read. I didn't relate to all poems so this is probably why. However I did love that it was a very hopeful, uplifting poetry book. There were so many aspects of loving yourself in this one that I just loved!!

Poetry is so personable, emotional, and vulnerable, which is why I love and appreciate so much. To know you relate to someone or multiple people on various levels is aspiring and makes life less lonely. Elodie’s writing is purely enjoyable and honest.
