Crystal Chen makes her living as fitstagrammer CurvyFitnessCrystal, advocating that exercise is for everyone. The gym is her happy place, until the guy she dubs Squat Rack Thief starts stealing her spots, getting in her video shots, and generally making a nuisance of himself. Too bad he's also cute. When Crystal's widowed grandmother announces that she's getting remarried, what are the chances that her husband-to-be has a grandson...who turns out to be Squat Rack Thief himself! Otherwise known as Scott Ritchie, firefighter and seemingly nice guy, at least around their families. But Crystal isn't ready to forgive his gym infractions so easily.

This is a sweet and steamy forced proximity, enemies to lovers romance. I loved the surrounding characters, especially the grandparents. It's great to see representation in romance of a curvy heroine who is already happy with her body, and the story doesn't focus on any kind of transformation. I really wish I could work out with Crystal!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

I have dedicated most of my life to not crushing on Chris Evans but everyone has their limits. SET ON YOU is mine. An escapist delight, with just the right amount of heat, and sprinkled with inspiring messages on self-acceptance, SET ON YOU is exactly what I want from a romcom.

I have been looking for a book that is like “The Hating Game,” and I think this one hits the mark. When it comes to romance, I want a female character who Is confident and witty and smart. Crystal encompasses all of these traits; their banter was priceless! I also do not like a romance book that you have to wait until the very end for the big kiss or for them to act like a couple. In “Set on You,” when he upset her, she told him immediately, which is what I want to read….not someone who stews and wonders what his feelings for her are. You knew they “fell in love” because they spent lots of time together talking and getting to know one another before it became serious.
Finally, the conflict was justified not some big misunderstanding that was silly.

Hot kisses and “more” were great! 😍

Highly recommend this book to people who love fun banter, a hardcore workouts, and a modern plot!

Great characters, very relatable, well written, and likable. Granted, I love the "bad first impression" trope in romance, and if you do too, than you will enjoy this book. I also really like that the main character is proud of her curvier body, we need this representation in romance. Bigger girls are lovable, too.

This is the kind of enemies to lovers romance that has you grinning during the first few chapters, smiling while you root for "your babies" throughout, then clench your fist to your mouth while things unfold, and finally hold your hand to your heart at the end. Add to all that there's a deeper message regarding the whole "love the skin you're in" and what it takes to make a relationship really work. It's a perfectly paced, laugh out loud, grin at the banter book that you won't be able to put down. Debuting in May, 2022, it's definitely the perfect summer read.

OMG. This book is perfection. The banter top notch! The characters are well developed, interesting and their chemistry is amazing. I loved the social media topic in this one too. I can't wait for this one to be out and for everyone to get their hands on it!

I really wanted to like this book - I didn't love the instagram post content that was included, but I could see how someone else might love that. I *did* love the two main characters!

ONE OF MY FAVE ROMCOM EVER. I AM IN LOVE WITH SCOTT AND WITH CRYSTAL AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR TARA'S STORY. 90/10, A+.

Set On You delivers on every front: it has a relatable heroine who’s impossible not to love, all the humor and hilarious situations a reader’s heart desires, and just the right dose of delicious steam. Amy Lea has crafted an ode to all of us who struggle with self-acceptance while remaining determined to love ourselves. Set On You is the perfect combination of scorching hot attraction, enemies to lovers, slow burn, and romcom shenanigans. I am in love with Amy Lea’s voice, and I cannot wait to read what she writes next!

I was so delighted by this wonderful, effervescent romcom. It was utterly charming, and definitely earned a place in my "favourite books" stack. Crystal is a fabulous heroine, authentic, witty, and strong. Scott is an absolute dreamboat. I mean, hunky firefighter with a heart of gold?? You can't get better than that! Their relationship goes from enemies to lovers in a way that reminds me of The Hating Game, with a similar thrilling potency, and The Kiss Quotient, with similar engaging characterisations and richness of relationship development - but at the same time it is unique to itself. Amy Lea has a remarkably assured voice for a debut novelist. She manages the conflicts that test the couple in a really thoughtful manner and it results in an ending you can truly believe in. SET ON YOU made me laugh, swoon, and sigh. Simply put, it's a ray of light. I can't wait for everyone else to read and delight over it too.

Gymstagrammer vs Gym Rat - who will come out on top?

SET ON YOU follows Chrystal, a full-figured, half-Chinese gymstagrammer who teaches self-love. Her popular Instagram channel promotes fitness beyond weight loss. When Scott, her gym nemesis-slash-arrogant fireman, unexpectedly turns up at a blended family event, the rivalry - and their heat - racks up to ten. Between reps at the gym, the internet microscope, and personal emergencies, Crystal and Scott discover they're both more than meets the eye.

A contemporary romance with a social media hook, SET ON YOU pits an influencer against her biggest troll - herself - while delivering a picture-perfect HEA.
