What a fun book for parents to share with kids, especially when that kid may be asking for a pet or two!

I loved how the book was laid out with the Five Freedoms that each animal should be allowed to have and how those freedoms work for both pets we have in our hoes and those on farms and in zoos. Being a pet owner for awhile now, I even learned about interesting things like the difference between the make up of food for different pets and why their bodies need different things - have been buying dog food for my dogs, but answered the question as to why food is different between what looks like similar pets.

This is a book I will be buying for the kids in my life before the conversation of having a pet starts!

This book is so great, I can’t wait to buy it for my classroom library! Elementary school students are naturally so interested in animals and have a strong moral compass so giving them access to this kind of information in an appropriate and comprehensive way is so important.

So this book is more factual than story - totally fine! Not meant for a 3y/o which is what I have. This would be great for late elementary to middle school age to learn more facts about each animal. It does push the PETA agenda which isn't necessarily bad but for those who do consume meat it is a little critical. Overall very informative.

What an incredible, interesting, and important book. This book gives detailed information about the needs of animals in different settings from zoos, to the farm, to our homes. It clearly explains their intelligence and emotions and how those can be affected if their needs are not met.

The information is clear, thorough, and well organized. Great pictures.

I think this is a fantastic book for older kids as well as adults
