THE WONDERS holds up a magnifying glass to everyday concerns. While the plot meanders and the stream of consciousness style can become tiresome, I enjoyed this novel and its unflinching look at the women's movement. Elena Medel has a lovely writing style. Recommended for fans of serious literary fiction who don't mind a bitter aftertaste.
