The summary of this book was intriguing, because let's face it, everyone has that moment they want to forget. Unfortunately, the story was not what I was hoping for. Stevie Green is 37 and a hot mess of an adult. A high school scandal sent her on a path of self destruction for 20 years and she has finally had enough. She moves home to help her mother pack up her childhood home to sell and decides to start her own decluttering business. The irony here is that she is ignoring the clutter in her own life and can't actually move on. Her character is not particularly likeable and none of the supporting characters are well developed so everyone feels shallow. The author tries to instill some intrigue by teasing about past relationships, alluding to the scandal and Stevie's dad throughout the book but this ends up backfiring by rushing the ending. It was a fairly quick and easy read but I am not sure if the author was aiming for romance, humor, or a serious story about addictions and consequences. It didn't really fit a particular category and overall fell short.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC.

I was hoping for more of a romance here. Stevie Green is is 37 and a red hot mess. Her character was so unlikeable, I didn’t finish this one.

3.5 STARS
This story has its humor but for me it was a bit sad. It took her 20 years to find the truth and begin to move forward. Rekindling her feelings with her high school crush seems to be a happy time, but when the truth comes out, all bets are off.
This story is the epitome of someone who desperately needs a fresh start and while she is on the right path, we feel her aches and pains. Her struggles are not unlike things we all go through and Huntley capitalizes on them perfectly.
While I really wanted to love this story, I felt more sorry for them all by not being able to function in their early years. So much wasted time.

Stevie Green is a train-wreck attempting to get her life together, and desperately trying to avoid examining her own mind too closely. This book follows Stevie and host of other characters in her life who all have parts to play in her journey to self discovery.
I would not classify this as a romance, exactly, but it certainly has notes of that. Its chapters switch POV frequently which adds an interesting element and saves the book from drowning too much in Stevie's self destruction. As a quick, entertaining romp this book was fun but somewhat shallow. While interesting, the rapid shifts in perspective meant the reader had little chance to build sympathy with any one person, and the book suffered from lack of character development particularly in Chris. The end also felt very rushed.
I read this book in one sitting so clearly it was engaging! But though the story captures your attention, the characters could stand to be more fleshed out.

Thank you Netgalley, publisher, and author for the ARC. Once I finish it is will update my review. As of now I am really enjoying it! Can't wait to finish it!! Thank you again

Goodness. This was terrible. Nothing about Stevie was remotely likable. She was miserable, idiotic, fake, and messy. As a 37 year old baby basically. This was the miserable story of a rich mom babying her adult kids so much that they couldn’t function in life but somehow decided to run a fake organizing business when they couldn’t organize their own lives. Ridiculous.

A book must grab me almost immediately to keep me interested enough to continue reading. This book just didn't do it. I'm sure others will like it.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!
LOVED this one! This was my first read from Swan Huntley and can't wait to read more. Such a rom-com read, easy and fast, a love story and a few secrets along the way. We mainly follow Stevie, who recently moved back home to La Jolla with her mom. She sets her sites on becoming the best home organizer in the city and becomes obsessed with beating out her competition. She was on a role, when all of a sudden her sister comes back into town and their mom encourages them to work together. The find a balance and work together, when one day they visit the home of Brad Green. Stevie dated Brad and broke his heart, and we soon learn that her sister Bonnie also has a connection with him. We get little glimpses into the other characters lives, mainly around the high school secret Stevie is so eager to learn the truth about.

I like the idea of de-cluttering as a career path for Stevie and it ends there. There are no emotions to any of the characters, even when they are going through something such as Bonnie and Dwight's situation. Stevie is hell-bent on finding out who sabotaged her in high school and couldn't seem to let go, even though she has come so far. It seems to be two different books in this story. One of Stevie's searches for the past and one of her future as a de-cluttering queen. It's not cohesive.
Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Getting Clean With Stevie Greennby Swan Huntley was a very interesting and great read!
Stevie is a 37 year old woman who is done with binge drinking and sleeping with strange men!
She is asked by her mother to come back home to La Jolla to help move! Saying yes immediately
Things are going wonderful for Stevie she has started her own business, and starts a relationship with her high school sweetheart Brad!
She is feeling great about her life..... Except for one small thing!
Who started the scandal twenty five ago that made her life take a different turn?
This was definitely a fast paced rom com and I loved every page of it!
Its about trying to discover who the hell you are even at the age of 37!
I genuinely didn't think that I was going to enjoy this book as much as I did, but I waa completely wrong!
I devoured this book and now I need more Swan in my life!

This was a cute rom-com that I read cover to cover in two days. I love these feel good stories that just make you laugh uncontrollably and just make you have fun. This one is perfect for the upcoming spring months, while you sit on your porch and enjoy the upcoming flowers and more.

I loved this one! It was so neat seeing Stevie reinvent herself especially at 37 an age when most people feel life should be figured out and that’s not true at all!
Premise
At thirty-seven, Stevie Green has had it with binge drinking and sleeping with strange men. She’s confused about her sexuality and her purpose in life. When her mother asks her to return to her hometown of La Jolla to help her move into a new house, she’s desperate enough to say yes. The move goes so well that Stevie decides to start her own decluttering business. She stops drinking. She hires her formerly estranged sister, Bonnie, to be her business partner. She rekindles a romance with her high school sweetheart, Brad. Things are better than ever—except for the complicated past that Stevie can’t seem to outrun.
I related so much to this book! Not in terms of Stevies pastimes but just in her journey to find herself, reinevent herself, as well as coke to terms with her past self.

Swan Huntley’s characters, all of them, remind me so much of myself. Oh how I love Stevie and her mantras and her routine and her inner thoughts versus what she actually says or does. “I am not going to tell Bonnie this” 5 seconds later “I have a date” that is so relatable…Enough about me, this is a cute rom-com, it’s fun, it’s about family, addiction, social media, sex, all the things. It’s a very fast read. It was the perfect choice for our short vacation this week. I will continue to worship Swan Huntley and will wait patiently, (if the past is any indication for 3 years)for her next novel.
