This is my first book by this author, but it will not be my last. I always love Christmas books, especially around the holidays. If you're looking for a nice read while sitting in front of a roaring fire on a cold, winter day, this book will not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Mia Broadhurst returns to the seaside village of Winsted Cape after the death of her grandma Ruth. Her grandma ran the lighthouse that had been in the family for years. Mia’s life is in New York so she and her family agrees that they should sell it. Mia hires real estate agent Will Thacker to help restore the lighthouse to ready it for selling. Both are dealing with issues in their live so they fight the attraction they are feeling for each other. While packing up her grandmas belongings, they find a photo with a message that is puzzling. As they search for answers and uncover a secret that threatens the future of the lighthouse, Mia must decide where she belongs.

I really enjoyed Mia's story, as she returns home to try to settle her grandmother's affairs while going through a divorce and managing a high-pressure job.

As much as this is billed as a Christmas story, there was very little to do with Christmas in it, other than the time of year and a business holiday party.

But the story of two people trying to find their way in the world after significant losses and stressful situations did resonate with me. I enjoyed watching Mia's story with Will unfold, and I appreciated the emphasis on how important family is.

Thanks to Jenny Hale, Bookouture and NetGalley for the review copy.

Such an amazing book for the Christmas season. The characters were well written and had good depth and the plot developed in a well paced manner. The plot was also unique and had be turning pages quickly but still a sweet Christmas story

A page turner, edge of the seat Heartfelt story about suffering from the loss of a loved one, family, friendships and relationships. Going through her late grandmother Ruth’s personal items and house Mia found herself reflecting back on childhood memories. As Mia, her sister and mother finds unknown items they learn the Grandmother Ruth kept some life changing secrets. This story can stir emotions and feelings which can tug on heart strings but also has some sweet and funny moments. A fantastic Christmas story for fans of Pam Rhodes, Katie Mettner, Donna Ashcroft and Elizabeth Neep. For those who have suffered from the loss of a loved one please be aware that the story does speak about the loss of loved ones and emotions so if you need to speak to someone about your feelings if you are suffering setbacks from reading the story.

While I've enjoyed the movies Jenny's books have inspired, this is the first one of her books, I've read. I could not stop swiping the screen until I had give up and call it a night. (Regardless of what time I go to bed, I'm up by 5 a.m.) If I'm to accomplish completing my own book this month I needed sleep.

At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like the writing style and found a name confusion that may or may not be straightened out by the end of the book. If that is the case, I'm surprised the characters didn't at least hint at the similarity. I'll leave you to read the book to see how that comes out.

I loved Felix's character. This little boy will steal your heart. Everyone is different in their own way, but those differences can also be their strengths. Christmas is about coming home... or in Felix's case, staying in the place that brought him comfort when he often felt like an outsider.

Overall, I loved the book and hope it's contracted with Hallmark because I'm ready to curl up with a cup of mulled cider and nutter butter cookies to see the characters represented on the screen.

Jenny Hale has written yet another heartwarming story full of amazing female characters. This book is the story of a family recovering after the death of the family matriarch grandmother/mother (Ruth). The family members (Mia, Riley, Alice- and later Hope). It is full of family secrets and drama- with a little romance mixed in. The overall themes of this book are strength, family, love, forgiveness, trust, and perseverance. A Lighthouse Christmas is a great holiday read- especially to snuggle up with on a cold night! I wish I had the opportunity to experience a lighthouse holiday party like the one described in this book- so beautiful! I definitely recommend and look forward to reading more by Jenny Hale in the future.

One pet peeve: lighthouses are painted a certain color and pattern assigned by the Lighthouse Board to aid mariners in the daytime so they can easily identify location. So in the book when Mia randomly selected red and white horizontal stripes rather than diagonal when repainting the lighthouse, it kind of bothered me... just remember to dust up on your lighthouse knowledge before writing a book taking place in one:)

Why oh why can't adults have pictures or illustrations in our books. I loved this book so much that I wanted pictures of the lighthouse inside and out. I honestly had myself moving in. Such a lovely story of families pulling together and making the most of what they have. I so hope there's a sequel as I'd love to follow more about the lighthouse and the bakery. Keeping everything crossed

I just finished my first holiday book of the season and this was such a cute and heartwarming story to kick it off with!

I was immediately drawn into Winsted Cape, a small little town by the sea. It seems like the perfect, snowy town to get away to for Christmas. As far as characters, I truly enjoyed reading about Mia and her family, as they learned about a big family secret after her Grandma Ruth passed away. Will, the handsome realtor helping Mia and her family prepare Grandma Ruth’s lighthouse for sale, also had a deep storyline that I was not expecting, making him and Mia the perfect match as they both worked through loss.

This is the perfect book to read while bundled up with a blanket and some coffee.

This is the second book I have read by Jenny Hale and it definitely did not disappoint. I loved it!

I loved the characters and the bond between Alice and her daughter’s Mia and Riley. Kate, Felix (her son) and her brother Will are also very loveable characters.

Jenny has a beautiful way of writing, and this story was totally captivating.

I would definitely recommend this and it is a very worth five stars.

This book captured the true Christmas spirit, which I adored. A sense of community and coming together for the greater good.

The characters were easy to like, and the whole time I was rooting for each of them to get their piece of hope.

There were romantic elements, a bit of a mystery element and lots of hope!

Overall I thought it was a heartwarming, and enjoyable read.

A Lighthouse Christmas is a heartwarming Christmas story. Mia Broadhurst returns to the snow covered seaside village of Winsted Cape when her beloved Grandmother passes away. The Lighthouse has been in the family for generations and her Grandma Ruth ran the Lighthouse. This is the first Christmas without her Grandmother. When she steps into the Lighthouse, all of her childhood memories come rushing back. Her life is in New York but she can't bear the thought of parting with the Lighthouse. As Mia works on restoring the historic lighthouse, she is attracted to the handsome real estate agent. This story is about being with family, second chances and the magic of Christmas. I highly recommend this book.

This was a cozy Christmas story filled with hope and love! Jenny Hale pulled you in from the beginning and made you feel not only like you were right there in the story but that you wanted to visit that exact lighthouse.

When Mia's beloved Grandmother passes away her she travels home to seaside village of Winsted Cape to help her Mother and Sister clear the lighthouse ready for sale. They all have wonderful memories of spending time there, together growing up. Mia is the fixer of the family and looks after everyone else. She runs a successful PR business back in New York with her soon to be ex-husband and is trying to work out what she wants from life whilst moaning her grandmother. In all the hurry of her grandmothers illness, the funeral and her pending divorce she has completely forgotten about the annual works Christmas party they host, Most places are now booked up so she decides to hold it at the lighthouse. With the help of her new friend and contractor Will she plans to make the party a roaring success.

This is a book about family, friendship and second chances. I love a book set around the holiday season but even more when it delivers a book where friends and family stand by each other and rally to help those in need.

This is the first book I have read by the author, but it certainly won't be the last.

This book has all the components of an excellent Hallmark movie! I love lighthouses and small towns, so the setting of this story is right up my alley. I enjoyed the Carter women so very much. They are strong and even though they may get down, don’t count them out. They are what families should be. Will, Kate, and Felix are another family who are there for each other. The storyline of these two families meeting, growing, and helping each other is wonderful. This is a great Christmas story that I think everyone will enjoy. I am new to reading novels by Jenny Hale and this will not be the last!

A Lighthouse Christmas is a light, festive read that delivers on its promise of putting you in a Christmas mood. It is a rather slow read, I found, but in the good sense of the term. You just want to take your time and enjoy all the holiday vibes.

I think it was also a refreshing take on the genre as it doesn’t focus too much on the romance part. It is more about grief, loss and family. The romance felt more like a secondary background plot. And it is always welcome to try and innovate a little, even though we do find the main staples in the genre: the dead relative, the inherited property to deal with and the whole angst over going back to your « more authentic » rural roots as opposed to the high-end life you made up for yourself in NYC. If you can overlook the cliché part, then you’ll enjoy a lovely, feel-good novel and it is all that matters in the end with chick-lit fiction.
