When Mia Broadhurst’s Grandma passes away, Christmas just won’t be the same. Mia decides to return to Winsted Cape, an absolutely beautiful seaside village. Now completely blanketed in Christmas snow, it is the only place Mia wants to be to feel closer to her grandmother during the holidays. Mia lives and works in New York City at a Public Relations firm. So keeping up the Lighthouse that her Grandma Ruth used to run isn’t going to work for Mia. Mia works with realtor Will Thacker and they begin to restore the Lighthouse so that she can sell it. Will and Mia are spending a lot of time together working on the Lighthouse, and Will is working through his own heartbreaking issues. But when, Mia, her mother and her sister are packing up her Grandma Ruth’s possessions, Mia finds an old black and white photo with an inscription on it. When Mia finds out the truth about the inscription, will she return to New York and never look back at Winsted Cape, or at the Lighthouse again, or will it change her life forever? I absolutely loved this story. The “Queen of Christmas” Jenny Hale, never disappoints. The characters in this book felt like family, while the detailed description of the village and the Lighthouse whisks you away to the Cape. This story literally brought joy to my heart. Grab a blanket, a hot cup of cocoa, and let the holiday season begin. This beautifully written and heartwarming, magical Christmas story is sure to be a favorite.
Thank you Jenny Hale for another heartwarming, inspirational and uplifting story. This is one that will continue to resonate in me for a very long time. This, read in one sitting, unputdownable, phenomenal page turner, is a wonderful and beautiful must read and I highly recommend this book.
What a story ! I loved it. A heartwarming Christmas read. There are lots of twists to the plot and characters the reader engages with . This was wonderful writing, a family drama which dragged the reader in from the start and which you didn’t want to finish
A 5 star read which I would highly recommend

I am yet to find a book by Jenny Hale that I don't like! This was no exception. Set at Christmas and in a lighthouse this is jam packed with magical charm and delightful festive cheer.
Revolving around loss, family , friendships and relationships there is so much going on I was gripped from the very beginning and
Struggled to tear myself away .
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a lovely book cover!
A sweet, romantic Christmas romance with many heartwarming moments to make you smile.
Engaging characters and lovely plot with a fairytale vibe.
A Lighthouse Christmas has a bit of everything you’d want in a holiday read…..blooming romance, family drama, a unique lighthouse, mystery and just cozy Christmas feelings.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
Truly enjoyed this heartwarming tale even though so many books have been written about the same subject. Grandma dies and leaves the family to sort through her belongings and her life and secrets. I think what made this such an enjoyable tale is it was a "cozy" Christmas story. Loved the lighthouse setting!
This was a lovely book, a little bit sad for me especially when the girls were sorting out their nan’s belongings after she’d died which unfortunately, brought back memories of when I had to sort through my mum’s clothes after she passed away. So, I found that side of the book hard. But, other than that it was a sweet book it’s lots of lovely descriptions of the lighthouse and the snowbound town. I guessed quite a lot of this book but, it didn’t matter to me in the end. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
First, I want to thank Jenny Hale, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Even though it is only October It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas after reading Jenny Hale’s A Lighthouse Christmas. However, let’s not jinx the bad WNY winter. I am just not ready for that. Jenny once again proved that she was born to write in this genre!
Jenny is known to pull on my heart string and she wasted no time in this book! My heart went out to Mia and her sister for the loss of their beloved Grandma Ruth. With the beautiful memories Mia shared of Grandma Ruth you could tell they had a special bond. By reading Mia’s story I couldn’t help but think of my late Gram and how much I miss her.
Jenny did a superb job pulling out all the painful emotions that went along with losing someone near and dear to you. I felt compelled to hop in the book and give Mia and her Mom a hug.
The one last thing the girls had of their Grandma Ruth was her beautiful Lighthouse. Not only did it have a ton of sentimental value but soon to find out that it had historical value as well.
I enjoyed reading the backstory of how Mia met her husband Milo.
This book is full of heart, secrets, a new love, and a mystery.
Jenny Hale writes the most wonderful books and her Christmas books are especially magical to read!
This is not just a fluffy romantic story it also deals with family.relationships, and loss
This is the story of Mia who returns to her home town after her grandmothers death to help her mother and sister sell her grandmother’s lighthouse. All her memories of spending time at the lighthouse rush back but Mia knows her fast paced life in New York is waiting for her and she must let the lighthouse go.
She works with real estate agent Will to restore the lighthouse and can’t help but notice how handsome he is. While she her mother and her sister are packing up their grandmothers belongings they find a black and white photograph with a faded inscription, this message is the key to a family secret that has been hidden for decades.
So Mia sets out to find the truth.
So, so wonderful and I do believe it would be the most perfect hallmark movie!
Christmas is a time for rejoicing, family, memories and love. A Lighthouse Christmas has all those things and more.
Even though their holiday starts off with sadness; the passing of Grandma Ruth, the sale of the lighthouse along with some surprises too, the Christmas Spirit thrives.
This was one of those books I couldn't put down yet I was sad to see it end. I really enjoyed this touching story.
A lighthouse Christmas by Jenny Hale is a romantic holiday romance. This Christmas story has much happiness as the characters learn how to relate better to each other during story.
I love Christmas stories and A Lighthouse Christmas by Jenny Hale has everything I want in a beautiful heartwarming Christmas romance book.
Mia is not having things go as she has planned in her life. She decides to go home to help her mother and sister get her grandmother’s house and the lighthouse ready to sell after her grandmother has died. Mia wants to host the Christmas party for her company in the lighthouse in honor of her grandmother.
This book is filled with holiday, family, family, romance and so much more.
Thank you NetGalley, Jenny Hale and Bookouture for this book. This is my personal review.
A Lighthouse Christmas by Jenny Hale is a contemporary romance that of course has a Christmastime holiday setting. The story is one that is also much more than just ‘romance’ as it deals with family, loss and discovering past secrets.
Mia Broadhurst grew up celebrating all of her Christmases in the snow covered seaside village of Winsted Cape. However this year Mia’s return is to the old lighthouse in Winsted Cape that has been in her family for years is bittersweet with the passing of her grandmother which has brought about her return to all those memories.
Mia, her mother and sister have inherited the lighthouse but also all of the debt with the women coming to the conclusion that they must sell the property. As the family wades through the memories in the lighthouse they make arrangements with real estate agent Will Thacker to part with the lighthouse while they grieve and heal from their loss.
I have read quite a few of Jenny Hale’s book in the past so I knew going into A Lighthouse Christmas that I would be in for wonderful writing and a story that pulled me right in and of course that is what I found. I felt as if I were immediately transported to the lovely town and went right into the lighthouse with them. With a strong emphasis on family the pages kept turning as I flew through this latest read and will definitely come back for more from this author in the future.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley
I've read this author before but this one seems to really reach out to me even more safe than her hours. Great story.
A sweet, heartwarming, and festive story that made me smile and root for the characters.
I fell in love with the cover and liked the story that kept me reading and entertaining.
Great characters, a plot that flow, a lovely setting and a festive atmosphere.
Some parts require a bit of suspension of belief but I consider it a sort of Christmas fairy tale and enjoyed it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy of "A Lighthouse Christmas" in exchange for my honest review.
This is the story of Mia Carter, her younger sister Riley and their mother Alice. They are all mourning the loss of their beloved mother/grandmother Ruth. She lived in a delightful lighthouse that just screams - decorate me for Christmas. Mia a director of event planning at her soon to be ex-husband's company is not happy about selling the lighthouse but they are all strapped for money. She doesn't want to lose this last thread to her Grandma Ruth after having spent some of the happiest times in her life with her.
There are several obstacles placed in Mia's way but her Grandma always said that there has to be Hope. She feels that her Grandma is guiding her to be a warrior and make the right decisions. A truly heartwarming Christmas story.
It’s a quick and breezy read. If you want to pick up something in between intense reads, this could be it. I wanted more magic but still a good and honest effort by the author. There was just something missing but it is just my personal opinion. It still deserves a read.
Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I have been a fan of Jenny's books for a very long time and for me, it's not Christmas without a Jenny Hale book.
This year we are transported to Winstead Cape. This coastal town sounds like a perfect place to spend a holiday. Whether it be at Christmas or in the summer (HINT HINT for a summer book!) I loved the views, the shops and the general coastal vibe.
Mia Carter is a one-woman fix-it machine. Her entire life she has been the strong one in the family. she protected and cared for her sister Riley who is only a few years younger while her mum worked two jobs to keep them afloat. Mia never showed any signs of how tough this was on her. I could see from the beginning that Mia feels she has to keep the family going that a lot of the responsibility is on her. I could also see how easily someone could crumble under all that weight. I just wanted to give Mia a hand and tell her she didn't need to do it all alone.
I loved Will Thacker from the moment he pitched up at the lighthouse. I could tell that he was a good guy who had been through a lot. Will is such a kind and considerate man. I was rooting for these two very early on.
One thing I loved about this book is the strength of the women in it. Mia might be carrying a lot but so were her family and Will's sister Kate. I really liked Kate and I would love to have a bok where we get to see Kate get her HEA. I loved the bakery and I feel like there's a great story waiting to be told there. I also loved the scene where they are all baking there.
I loved the Christmas decor that the lighthouse and the barn were decked out in. there is something so magical about Christmas decorations.
This was not only a story of love but a story of strength in numbers. A story that showed that opening up to people can really help. If you need a little Christmas magic then grab a blanket and snuggle down with this book for a few hours.
A nice enough book but not really for me, as a previous reviewer stated you could see it being made for one of those xmas movie channels which pop up around now, there was nothing to really dislike about it but I just get invested in the story or the characters
I liked this book and could see it as a typical Hallmark Christmas movie. Mia is a PR executive from NYC who has come back to the Virginia coast after her beloved grandmother had passed away. She had owned a lighthouse that had been in her family for generations and Mia soon came to realize that the lighthouse was In desperate need of updating and was also heavily in debt. Neither Mia, her sister nor her mother could eliminate the debt problem with the lighthouse so they were going to sell it instead - they felt they had no other option especially since Mia’s marriage to her ultra rich husband was in the process of breaking down. She hired a real estate agent visiting family in the area to help them sell the lighthouse. Once they met, sparks immediately flew. A sweet Christmas story that didn’t answer all my questions (did Mia and her mother ever receive financial relief for their part in the lighthouse renovation), but it was good.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.
