A Lighthouse Christmas is a wonderful, happy, holiday book that played in my mind like a Hallmark movie.
There was sadness in it— Mia struggling to find herself after her divorce from Milo and death of a family member. She’s trying to take things slow with Will and what that attraction means.
At the heart of the book is about three strong women who stick together and try to succeed at life, helping others. And lean on each other through mourning the loss of their grandmother/mom.
It’s got soul searching, romance, loss, divorce, and a happy ending.
This is definitely a book for all you Hallmark movie lovers at Christmas time.

Pardon me if this review is filled with typos, but I was up until 3:58 a.m. finishing this book. It was that good.

Mia's Grandma Ruth dies of cancer and Mia goes home to help her mother and sister get the family farm and lighthouse ready to sell. As much as the women would love to keep the lighthouse in the family, there are substantial loans they just can't afford to pay back. While going through their grandma's possessions, Mia finds a box of Christmas cards with pictures of a woman and a young girl. Curiosity has her calling the number on the back of one of the cards to find out why Grandma Ruth kept the photos and inform Mildred, the woman in the photos, of Ruth's passing.

Will, a local realtor, volunteers to help Mia get the house, barn, and lighthouse ready to show, but in the middle of their preparations Mia decides to hold a Christmas party for her soon to be ex-husband's New York company there.

There is so much more going on, but I don't want to give anything away.

I have read several books by Jenny Hale and have always enjoyed them. Her characters are well written and conversations are true to live. The story she tells here is uplifting and poignant. Truly an enjoyable reason to stay up late.

A Christmas romance with a little bit of mystery and beautiful backdrop sets the tone for a wonderful story with a ton of seasonal touches.

Mia goes back home after the loss of her favorite person, her grandma, and she is left to tend to her assets which included a lighthouse that had been in the family for many, many years. Once she gets everything tending to, she plans to return to Nee York and deal with her failing marriage.
While packing up her grandma’s things, she finds picture and items that hint at family secrets. Once she digs into her grandma’s past, she finds there’s much more about her than she knew. Especially when she finds an inscription that says “Hope is where you find it.” As she delves deeper and puts the puzzle together, she starts to find her answers but also finds that the lighthouse is in debt and needs saving in order to keep it in the family. The realtor that she works for helps her to see what she is missing in her marriage as well.
There’s something for everyone in the story-family drama, romance, history and an overall sense of warmth and heart. And of course, a lighthouse!
Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange for my review.

After the death of her beloved grandmother Ruth, Mia Broadhurst returns to Winstead Cape to put the family lighthouse up for sale. Unable to afford to keep the lighthouse within the family, she employs real estate agent Will to help renovate it ready for sale. But when a face from Ruth’s past surfaces it will throw their plans into disarray.

A delightful Christmas book with great characters. An easy and enjoyable read.

Jenny Hale has written an excellent book for the run up to Christmas. A well described and lovely setting, family, snow and romance. A good read.

I’ve read many books by Jenny Hale and if I remember correctly her debut Christmas novel was the first real Christmas romance I read. It’s been a while since I’ve read one of her books now however I decided to dive back in and pick up her new Christmas release A Lighthouse Christmas.

This story follows Mia and her mother and sister as they meet up in their home town to prepare her grandmother’s house - and lighthouse - for sale. Together with Will, their realtor, the work to upgrade some part of the cottage and make their way through Ruth’s belongings. There are some hurdles along the way for Mia however her romance with Will changes her mindset and how she deals with those hurdles.

I loved the setting in this story and in fact I’ve enjoyed the setting in all of Jenny’s novels I’ve read so far - all on the east coast. I loved the lighthouse and there are so many up and down the east coast if you google them they’re all unique.

This is a heartwarming festive read with the importance of family at the centre of it. There’s probably one little thing I could have lived without and it was the inclusion of an unknown friend of Mia’s grandmother. I would have enjoyed the story just as much without that one little aspect. If you’re looking for more recommendations for Christmas romances then check out the OG Coming Home for Christmas.

The title of this book grabbed me as soon as I saw it! I love Lighthouses and Christmas, put them together and you have a winner. This is a beautifully written heartwarming story that you don't want to miss. I can't say enough good things about this book without letting a spoiler slip out. I loved everything about this book!

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for Christmas themed books and The Lighthouse Christmas did not disappoint!

Mia, who's still grieving the death of her grandmother returns to a family lighthouse and its their that her epic Christmas adventure begins 😂❤️ This was such a hopeful/heartwarming read.

It was such a delight that it almost felt like a warm hug. The book has great characters and such an atmospheric setting. Definitely will be picking this back up during the holidays!

Somebody call Hallmark and get this movie made 😂

I have absolutely loved reading this story from start to finish, such a joy. It was superbly written, but then I wouldn’t expect anything less from author Jenny, as she does write such wonderful stories, especially those set around Christmas time.

There was lots to love about this story, one being is how it had some historical element to it, secrets lost in the past but now to be uncovered/discovered as we turn the pages of the book and secondly it was so much more than a romance story, had lots going on, with reuniting of family, saving the lighthouse, bringing a bakery back to life, discovering new things, arranging a massive Christmas party for clients and so much more. Oh and not forgetting the yummy sound food that was made at the bakery, certainly made me hungry just thinking about them.

The characters were delightful, all of whom just came alive right before my eyes, I actually forgot that they weren't real at times.I loved getting to know all of the characters, seeing them interact with each other and overcoming individual obstacles/issues.

So final words, if you haven't discovered Jenny's books yet, then trust me when I say that you are truly missing out. Her books are just so heartfelt and magical, perfect for curling up on the sofa with a hot warm drink and a cat on your lap if you have one 😊.

This book has all the components of the classic Hallmark Christmas movie- big city exec on the cusp of divorce goes back to her quaint home town to sell her grandparents property with the help of a brooding blue eyed realtor. However, it felt much more elevated than the typical movie and not quite as predictable. It just left me with such a warm comforting feeling.

I just reviewed A Lighthouse Christmas by Jenny Hale. #ALighthouseChristmas #NetGalley

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookoutre for giving me a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It is a Christmas - themed book with a difference; the lighthouse setting made it unusual. There are many of the common ingredients such as a failing relationship, a potential romantic hero, and family issues / mysteries; this book uses an inheritance (the lighthouse) as the centre of a financial problem. There are a couple of inconsistencies: Mia and Alice go to move Riley's car out of the snow, only Alice gets in but we are told both get out, and the necklace is wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with tape before being replaced in the box, but then Riley has it dangling from her hand. There is a phrase about a type of quarterback throw that is lost on me as I'm English, and a mistake when Hope is talking to Mia and explains "then Mia called". These issues did not spoil my enjoyment of this book which has interesting characters, a nice setting and twists which are little unusual. I recommend it as a very good read.

A feel good Christmas story that centres around a lighthouse. Mia, her mother and sister are still grieving for grandma who had lived in the lighthouse, which had been passed down through the generations. There is an extravagant party planned to take place at the lighthouse, a family secret is revealed and a bakery saved. Such a lot to enjoy in this book. I loved the characters, the setting and although it was all very predictable I really enjoyed the book

A Lighthouse Christmas by Jenny Hale could easily be scripted into a PG holiday movie. It is set at Grandma's lighthouse after her death, when the family is coming to terms with the fact that they cannot afford to keep it in the family any longer. Enter the kindly and good looking realtor, a charity holiday event, and a dramatic family twist that keeps the narrative moving. I skimmed A LOT and found that not much nuance was lost. It is a simple and often repetitive narrative with a sweet holiday theme - perfect for cozying up with a hot beverage and indulging in for some, but not for me.

Sweet Christmas story! Small town atmosphere, friendly people and a historical lighthouse is the setting for this Christmas tale. I would have liked some more details about the lighthouse. Mia shows her magical PR skills as the lighthouse is spruced up for a high-end party and quick sale but something unexpected happens. Readers will want to read this delightful story to discover what happens.

This book takes place at a lighthouse owned by the family at Christmas time.
I liked the main character Mia. She has a lot going on in her life at the moment. She is separated from her husband, grieving from the loss of her beloved grandmother and trying against hope to keep the lighthouse in the family.
Real estate agent Will also has a lot going on. He is dealing with the loss of his wife and trying to help his sister and nephew when he can, all while holding down a job. He somehow manages to find the time to help out Mia and her family quite a bit.
A story of loss, love, family and hope.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the advance copy to read and review.

The pressure is on for Mia. She has to deal with the death of her beloved grandmother, save a Christmas party, detach from her ex husband and keep her family together. Once she arrives at the lighthouse even more responsibilities are tacked on. I loved the location of the lighthouse. The descriptions for the party were divine. The scene with Will and Mia in the afterglow Of the party was so romantic. Jenny Hale always provides a solid read. This one has lots of angst that turns into a happy afterward. The way a holiday romance should end.
