3.5 stars. This second book in the Fix-It Witches series runs parallel to Witch Please, and you should definitely read the first one first, or you'll be lost. Clem (don't call her Clementine) owns a small-town repair shop with her cousin. Although they call the shop Fix-It Witches, her family and coven try to keep a low profile as local witches. When a witch hunter bursts into town, hot on the trail of some rogue magic, Clem volunteers to keep him busy. But (hot and British) Gavin isn't what she expects at all. He seems more ambivalent than cutthroat about his job, and he really seems to like Clem. Soon the two are entangled in a complicated relationship, where both of them are keeping secrets.
I liked this better than the first book, but it had some of the same issues. The tone is all over the place again, between life-or-death suspense and cutesy small-town antics. There's a big reveal near the end (no spoilers) that I had read as given from the start of the book. Clem and Gavin have great chemistry, but it didn't quite hold together. Too much hinges on the Big Misunderstanding plot device, and one conversation could have saved them--and the reader--a lot of grief.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

I fell in love HARD with Witch, Please, but I will admit to being a little disappointed with Clem's story. Gavin seemed entirely clueless as a witch hunter, which felt emasculating, and Clem's behavior didn't seem to match her behaviors in the first book, despite them overlapping heavily on timeline. A necessary story, I suppose, but doesn't measure up to the encompassing storyline of the first.

Boss Witch is a fun page turner filled with pure chaotic energy and immaculate witchy vibes.
I adored the romantic elements. It was fun, light and so enjoyable!
I was completely enraptured by this book and even the first book was phenomenal in every way possible!
Literally everything about this book is perfect: the characters, the setting, the magical elements, the plot, ugh everything was perfect, I'm simply obsessed with this book now.
This story was amazing and I will honestly be reading much more by this author in the future!
First of all, how beautiful is this cover?

A witch and a witch hunter go head to head and just might accidentally end up in love. Clementine Waterhouse is a witch. She doesn’t tumble straight into love and believes in protecting and caring for her loved ones. She always weighs the pros and cons of her relationships.... and she’s never really felt the need to be in a serious lasting relationship. Gavin Rhys is a witch hunter, tasked with following his father’s legacy and hunting down witches he finds himself sent on a mission in the town of St. Claire. Gavin hasn’t ever really had a home, hasn’t ever really had a relationship and now he finds himself attracted to the one person who he’s suppose to be hunting. Clem decides to enter into a relationship with Gavin to distract him from his mission... but soon she finds that his charm and kindness are doing something to her she’s never expected. Soon Gavin and Clem find themselves in a relationship where neither can stay away from the other, but with Gavin’s father placing pressure on him to hunt down the witches and Gavin struggling to decide what side he will take and Clem having to figure out if this forbidden relationship can make it out alive... things are about to get messy. This was such a fun and romantic read! I adored getting to read from both Clem and Gavin’s POVs and the overall story was just great! It is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone, I didn’t read the first book and had no problem getting through this book!
*Thanks Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca, Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

This completes the story started in Witch Please and, in a unique set-up, the timelines of the two books overlap. It will be best to read book 1 and then immediately begin book 2, or even to read half of book 1 and then alternate chapters between the two to keep the timeline intact.
This book was obviously rushed and has some odd sections. Any book written during the pandemic gets a pass and should automatically get a second edition at some unspecified point in the future. The writing overall felt overwrought, unnecessarily over-dramatic. There were some sections where there was a confusing amount of detail (describing the tv manual that comes with the rental flat?!?); non-relevant details don't help set the scene for me. Other scenes lacked the same level of detail, which made it feel unbalanced.
A quick read best for readers dying to find out what happens to the characters; not a good book to read alone, nor the best intro to the author.

I didn’t think it was possible to love Ann Aguirre’s writing more after her stunning “ Witch Please”, but Boss Witch was phenomenal. I loved the character progression of Clem…. she was determined without being rigid, focused without being single minded and Benson! I can’t say enough about how awesome Benson is.

A huge thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
4⭐️ 4🌶
This was such a satisfying sequel to Witch Please! It was everything I expected it to be and more!
Though this follows a different main couple, their story coincides with the timeline in the first book so I highly recommend reading that first before getting into this.
As I was enjoying Witch Please, I was already so intrigued in Clem and Gavin’s story especially that it was a forbidden romance between a witch and a witch hunter! Their relationship was meant to be a ploy to distract him from the other witches but they ended up having very real feelings for each other and the fun starts from there!
Boss Witch starts off by going back to the start of that relationship and I enjoyed how it was a dual POV between the main characters. I loved that their banter and chemistry was so investing from the get go and that their sexual tension was very fiery which led to delicious smut scenes!
Besides their romance, I especially loved getting to know them individually! Clem was extra interesting in this book as I got to know more of her side in things regarding their family problems and relationships with the rest of the witch coven. Gavin intrigued me as well with his life as a witch hunter and him navigating through this experiences of being new in town. I also loved how adorable Benson the mouse was!
I found the plot more exciting since it explored not only more of the witch magic system and community but as well as the ins and outs of being a witch hunter. Both sides were so interesting so I really enjoyed the last quarter of this book!
Overall, this was such a perfect witchy read with fun characters and intriguing plot! I’m excited for more from this series!

I love this book and series. At first I didn't think our main character was gonna learn her lesson but thankfully she did.

What a fun, witchy rom-com! I will be sure to put this out around Halloween. Sweet, light-hearted, and a fast read - great for a spooky romance pick.

It was a very quick, fun romcom read for me. The characters were just adorable yet relatable. And the plot was easy to get into and super entertaining!!
