I always enjoy reading Carolyn Brown's stories. They are heartwarming and remind me of a small town hallmark movie. Thank you for another sweet little escape.

If you have read Carolyn Brown’s books before, then you know what to expect. This one is no different. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. Too unbelievable.

When Cassie is on the run and trying to avoid being caught, she happens upon Ted who decides in order for her to avoid danger, he should marry her. In a ‘only in romance novels’ turn of events, Cassie is welcomed by Ted’s family and everyone lives happily ever after - of course. Although this was a cute story it was very predictable and there were huge holes in the plot. I was disappointed by this one.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I didn't realise this was an older book and was rereleased. It definitely reads like a book set in a different time. Cecil should be behind bars in an instant.
I liked the idea behind Ted and Cassie's meet cute, but Cassie was a bit up and down with her personality and inconsistent. The family was lovely and was great to her, as was Ted, and she was giving him attitude.
Wish we could've learnt what happened to Cassie's inheritance in the end.

I wished I could rate this book with more stars. As much as I love the storyline, the characters and the cover, I didn’t enjoy the main couple’s story as much. Something is amiss. I failed to feel the spark between Cassie O'Malley and Ted Wellman. I’m kind of disappointed because at the beginning the story was very promising. I thought Cassie is supposed to have her inheritance in a few months? But then, a few months never came - Hello? Cassie’s inheritance? Did you missed the bus?!- You see, this inheritance thing was never mentioned again after Cassie and Ted had their HEA. All in all, this is an okay read. If you prefer a free and easy, clean romance novel that is. A Bride for a Day by Carolyn Brown is available on 29 March 2022 onward.

This has been a voluntary review in exchange for the e-ARC I received. I’m truly grateful to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and the author for the chance. Thank you.

Another great read from Carolyn Brown. Cassie is running away and meets a guy while at a bus station. Ted, the nice, new stranger pretends they are dating. They get married randomly (won’t give any spoilers here). While getting to know each other, they end up really falling for each other.

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book

I received an arc of this story from Netgalley for a honest review

Bride for a Day by Carolyn Brown was very sweet with a bit of Carolyn Brown's well known snark. Cassie O'Malley is in a panic as she is on the run from her “guardian” who wants to sell her to sex ring. To avoid being arrested she comes upon a stranger Ted Wellman and asks him for help.

Ted has been lost ever since his twin died years ago but there is something about Cassie that makes him feel alive.

I enjoyed following these two on their journey as they fell in love.

This was a great story! Cassie is running away from the home she lived in after her mom dad. Her moms best friend and her best friends husband took her in and helped raise her. Her moms best friend died of cancer and the husband sold Cassie to traffickers. When Cassie found out she ran with just a few dollars and some clothes. The cops are looking for her and she sees a way to sneak by the cops and not get caught at the bus station. She decides to sit down at a table where a young guy was sitting by himself. She begs him to help her and the only way he sees to make things look real is to say that Cassie is his girlfriend and they are getting married. When the sheriff hears that, he offer to drive them to the justice of peace and help them get married. Ted, the young guy Cassie just met, ends up marring her that day. After getting married Ted promises he will get an annulment with the help of his uncle. While the paperwork is being processed they end up falling in love with each other and end up getting married with their family present and she ends up pregnant. I received this ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

An easy, relaxing read! As you expect by this author, a slight twist on a typical romance. Cassie (a runaway) and Ted meet unexpectedly, get hitched by a justice of the peace, and live their lives on the same farm but yet separately. The ending is typical of a romance, easy read title.

Saucy, entertaining, and a perfectly great choice for lovers of Hallmark romance movies. Cassie O'Malley was an adorable and quirky heroine. Ted was charming and his family was delightful.
There are several nice components of this story that makes one light-headed and smile ear to ear.
It makes you wish you could get transported to the small town the story takes place in and rent a house, work at a small cafe, befriend those characters and listen to country songs, and visit carnivals.
The "accidentally-engaged" trope is my favorite romance genre.
I will not relay the plot here. I will leave you with this:
This book is The Proposal meets How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. It was the perfect book to curl up with in bed with holidays around the corner.

Special thanks to NetGalley for sharing this free digital copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Cassie is on the run, when she meets and marries Ted. They are only supposed to be married for a day, but will it end up like that, especially when his family get involved and want her to stick around.
A short, fun read.

Bride for A Day is a classic Carolyn Brown story updated. The author has written that this is one of her very first books and it’s a wonderfully sweet read full of family, faith and touching on the lessons one can learn listening to country music, chacteristics that have become a sure sign one is reading a Carolyn Brown book. What begins as a rescue of one becomes a rescue of two, and the journey to realization is most enjoyable to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

Cassie O'Malley is on the run. In a few months her inheritance will kick in. Until then, she just needs a job and a place to stay under the radar. But when Cassie gets off the bus in north Texas and runs smack into the town sheriff, she quickly does the first thing she can think of—approach the handsome stranger on the street and pretend to be a couple. Luckily, the sheriff believes it and the man surprisingly plays along—all the way up to the courthouse, where the officer insists he marry them himself.

Wondering how she got herself into this mess, Cassie can't believe her plan got so far out of hand. Her new husband Ted assures her that his Uncle Ash, a lawyer, will get the whole thing straightened out with no problem. Cassie would only be a bride for a day, and then she could go on her way. But as his family welcomes her with full hearts, she begins to wonder if she'll be able to say goodbye to the first loving family she's known in her life. Not to mention a man like Ted.

A terrific feel-good small town romance. The town itself is a wonderful character! :) Cassie and Ted are great characters clearly.. They both have their own baggage but it was nice to see how well they complement each other. and how things all work out in the end.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an arc.

Bride for a Day by Carolyn Brown, was a delightful story. It was exactly the kind of romance story I love with strong, intelligent, appealing characters who have real struggles, pasts and flaws, but appropriate, reasonable responses to life’s issues.
The characters in this book are well developed and adorable and I can't wait to read my next Carolyn Brown book.
Cassie and Ted's characters are so well written, and came alive in these chapters.
An engaging and enchanting romance with a small town feel and a heartwarming goodness
Small town Texas I could easily vision this place and the feeling it gave me was real.
