When Alexis meets Daniel, he is the complete opposite of her in every way and 10 years younger than her. She has no intentions of getting involved with him or his small town. But when she decides maybe they should be hook up buddies feelings get involved, complicating things.
This was a PERFECT romance. Daniel is the true definition of book boyfriend. He cared about Alexis so much and wasn’t afraid to tell her how much she meant to him. I enjoyed seeing Alexis thrive after an abusive long term partner and seeing her character grow / heal through Daniel’s town.
This is such a fantastic book. You can tell Abby pours her heart into each character she writes. She does a great job addressing hard topics in this book such as abusive relationships, childhood trauma, and anxiety. I think this may be my favorite she’s written so far!

Abby Jimenez never lets me down. Her books always make me swoon, stress, and smile. Part of Your World is up there with The Happy Ever After Playlist for me and has one of the sweetest male lead characters I’ve ever read. The story follows Alexis Montgomery, a sophisticated doctor with a family legacy that weighs her down and an ex that refuses to let her go. When her car goes off the road in a small town, she meets Daniel. Daniel is younger and comes from a completely different world, but their chemistry is immediate. As Alexis tries to keep her world and Daniel’s separate, she knows she will eventually have to choose between the two.
Daniel. He was such a sweet cinnamon roll that I dreaded the inevitable 80% miscommunication from the first page I met him. Him and Alexis had such a well-written love story that was at once movie-level romantic and realistic. I loved these characters so much and I hope they will pop up in future books. Bri, Alexis’s best friend, is the main character of Jimenez’s next book and is the perfect choice. She was funny, lovable, and was part of many of my favorite scenes.
Jimenez always writes characters that you get so invested in that you become stressed and protective of them. Part of Your World is no different. It is full of memorable characters, excellent dialogue, and all of the romance. Can’t recommend it enough. Already a 2022 favorite.

Part of Your World was an entertaining story filled with a lot of emotion. I felt like I was on a roller coaster between fun and heartbreak as Alexis and Daniel found their way to happy. This was definitely a story that made me feel and made for a truly great read.
Alexis and Daniel were wonderful characters. They had a lot of cute, entertaining scenes together with fun dialogue and I thought there was a good flow. Alexis is one of those characters that grew on me over the course of the story. I liked her but didn't necessarily love her or her choices when it came to Daniel. The more I learned about her, the more I felt for her and understood her motivations, and by the end, I was rooting for her. Now Daniel, there was nothing about this man I did not love right from the start. He was sweet and caring and had such a generous heart. I loved his patience and understanding with Alexis and at times my heart hurt for him. I basically laughed and cried my way through this. Between characters I didn't like and some of Alexis’s choices, my emotions were all over the place. I loved the little epiphanies Alexis had along the way, it all built into a really heartfelt and beautiful ending.
There's a well-rounded cast of characters, some fantastic and some not so much. I loved Alexis's best friend Bri and I liked all of Daniel’s friends and the townsfolk and the bonds they had. There were a few small side stories involved and the situations with them felt easily resolved and glossed over. There were nice descriptive details pulling me in the entire time though the beginning did feel slightly rushed. There were several hard subjects touched upon and I thought they were handled well. Thank goodness for the comic relief in the form of animals because it was very much needed with the heaviness involved. There is an age difference between Alexis and Daniel and it was touched upon but overall, I thought it was a small part of the story.
Bottom line, this story made me feel. I loved how it broke me down a bit and then built me back up. This was excellent storytelling with good humor, a lot of emotion, and intriguing characters. A great addition to the series!
I love, love, love anything written by Abby Jimenez, and “Part of Your World” is no exception! What I love so much about this one is that the woman (Alexis Montgomery) is a super successful doctor and she’s OLDER than the ridiculously sexy carpenter fling. So much yes to successful women over 30 being hot and desirable in rom-coms! As a 38 year old married woman, I love to read spicy books like this!
Alexis Montgomery and Daniel Grant are so very different from one another: he’s small town super hot carpenter and she’s the older very successful emergency room physician. What starts as just a fling quickly turns into more.. There’s an illegal amount of chemistry between these two, but are their differences too much for a relationship?
This book is so cute and so spicy. I just loved it when Alexis and Daniel spent time together. I loved their dates, loved their dialogue, and the baby goat! I just cannot with how perfect the baby goat is. You too will love the baby goat. Trust me....
This is such a fun read that!. I adored every minute of it. And the baby goat just makes this even better!! This was the perfect beach read!

Well, I think this is my favorite of Abby's books to date. I could not put it down, but I simultaneously didn't want it to end. While the main characters were busy figuring out how to fit into each other's worlds, I was trying to work out how I was going to cope when I finished the book and I couldn't be a part of theirs anymore. (Spoiler...not well, I have a major book hangover).
Alexis Montgomery is an ER doctor on her way home from a funeral, when she finds herself crashed into a ditch thanks to a raccoon with poor timing, and a whole lot of fog. Daniel Grant just happens to be passing and tows her out of the ditch. Not long after, they end up at the same bar, in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere.
What starts as a hook-up turns into a friendship and both of them catching feelings. But their relationship is doomed from the start. Both of them are tied to their lives in a big way, not to mention the ten-year age gap, and that they live two hours (and a world) apart.
I adored both main characters more than I can say. There was a lot of growth for both of them, but especially Alexis I think, as her worldview is expanded the more time she spends with Daniel. And Daniel, oh Daniel...who wouldn't love a hot carpenter / mayor / all-round great guy, but especially when he has a baby goat in pajamas in his arms. While Daniel would have been enough on his own, one of my favorite quotes from the book really sums it up "I'd follow a clown into a storm drain if he had a baby goat in pajamas."
There were some really tough topics touched on in this book, including physical and emotional abuse, toxic family relationships, wealth disparity, and more. There were also a lot of laughs, and incredibly tender moments too. Basically, this book gave me ALL the feels.
4.5 stars! This was such a cute read with some real hard topics that I feel like are handled (by the author) really well. I was definitely rooting for both of them separately and together, which makes for a great romance in my book (hehe) and I loved the little magical elements. I do wish her brother played a larger role in the book, I feel like that would have added a lot given that he came from the same family, I think there could have been some enlightening conversations written between the two of them, especially because he played such an important role in the background of the story. This is my first of her books but I'm excited to read the ones she already has written!
I have to start by saying one word. WOW.
This is my first time reading a book by Abby Jimenez. And I was not disappointed at all. I absolutely loved Alexis and Daniel’s story.
You could just feel the love Alexis and Daniel had for each other. Seeing their one night stand turn into something so strong was so special. It made all the little moments they had together feel so incredibly special.
Throughout this book we see both Alexis and Daniel’s POV and what there lives are like. Their lives are complete opposites but when they are together they work so well.
We cannot forget about Wakan. I absolutely loved everything about this small town. The community, the magic, the love, all the laughs, etc. It felt so at home being in that setting.
Daniel quickly became one of my favorite book boyfriends. There’s something so comforting about his character. The way he loves and goes out of his way to help others. Truly just wanting to share his love and support those he cares about.
Alexis faces quite a bit of hardships in her life. This book does touch on the topic of what different forms of abuse can look like in relationships. It definitely opens up a great conversation and as we see her being opened to those as well. Despite these realizations she sticks up for herself and finds her worth which is truly incredible to see. She has the support of Daniel and others but I appreciated seeing her get to where she was at the end of the book.
The ending of this book was everything. That epilogue absolutely had me in my feels.
This book was so completely charming, the few cringier moments didn’t even bother me! I loved the characters and the setting. It reminded me a lot of Hart of Dixie (tv show) and The Heart Principle (book).
Who this book is for:
• You love small town and big city discrepancies, like the ones in Hallmark movies and the movie The Proposal.
• You prefer your romances to feature nothing but pure love and unconditional support.
• You like solid banter between your main characters.
• You’re comfortable with discussions around emotional abuse.
I truly loved this. Just grinning ear to ear while reading it. There were a few moments where Alexis discusses class differences and uses metaphors around royalty which felt a little out of place. And I was actually a little surprised by how harsh she was on her mother, given that they both suffered from a good deal of emotional abuse (I have never been emotionally abused, so maybe I’m off base here).
But I stan a male main character whose only agenda item is to make his love interest feel loved and supported. This is my first book of Abby Jimenez, but I truly loved the ways she called back to inside jokes and previous scenes throughout the novel. It made the characters feel super organic.
I’d recommend this, and will likely pick up the next one in the series when it comes out in 2023.
Is it possible to capture lightning in a bottle again and again?
Well for Abby Jimenez it seems to be! Her latest book, Part of Your World delivered everything I was looking for AGAIN!
I experienced all the ranges of emotions while reading. From laughter, giddiness, awkwardness, anger, fear, and anxiety as I fretted over the characters HEA. (Ps. Thanks the gods for HEA’s - I wouldn’t have survived without it!)
This story feels like the novelization of Billy Joel’s Uptown Girl- your classic class difference romance, but Abby brings it up a notch but comparing and contrasting so many aspects of the characters. Healthy relationships vs unhealthy, differing support systems, family obligations and legacies… Alexis and Daniel couldn’t be more different and yet so the same and perfect for each other!
Beyond the amazing relationship story we are also given a realistic portrayal of domestic partner abuse. Depicting both physical and emotional, we are shown characters experiencing abuse, struggling to escape, working through the trauma and coming full circle assisting other victims. I appreciated the struggle portrayed and the varied reactions characters faced. Domestic violence has many aspects and can affect anyone- across all walks of life. I feel in my heart that this book has given be a better insight into this issue and I hope it will for others too, even just in a supporting role.
Overall, I can’t recommend this book enough. If you need something to lift you spirits, you can’t miss with an Abby Jimenez book.

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez – Abby’s Fourth Book!
Abby’s done it again folks! She’s written another romance you won’t be able to put down. Now, I fell in love with Abby’s writing years ago when I read The Friend Zone. Abby’s writing makes me laugh, pulls at my heartstrings and I adore her endless pop culture references.
Her next book, The Happy Ever After Playlist was very emotional. A grieving young wife and a storyline involving music is perfect for someone like me. As you know, I love a love story with a grief element. Abby’s sophomore effort solidified her as a force! Next up was Life’s Too Short. This one had me on edge while reading it. Abby tackles a lot with addiction and health issues.
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez Book Review
content considerations: mentions of emotional and physical abuse
I am so in love with this book. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. As much as I wanted to dive into it and read it within 24 hours (which is easy to do with Abby’s writing) I made myself savor it. I’m so glad I did.
While I’ve loved each and every one of Abby’s books, this is my favorite. Yes, it still has Abby’s trademark whip smart voice, but it is softer and more tender in a way that makes the characters more real. The stakes are there from the beginning. Alexis is a family legacy doctor with a high status, but is locked into a world she didn’t ask for. Daniel is a hard working, decade younger man, who is a legacy of different sorts—old family in a small town.
A chance encounter brings them together and they’re just what the other needs. Can they make it work?
The Verdict
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez is heartfelt, emotional, sexy and it leaves you wanting more of Abby’s writing. I loved it times a million and highly recommend to fans of contemporary romance and women’s fiction
I was really looking forward to Part of Your World and I can't believe I let my advanced reader's copy sit on my kindle for so long before I got to it. I would have finished this book within 24 hours of starting it if I didn't 1) have to eat and sleep 2)have a migraine on Saturday 3) actually have to spend some time with my family on Easter Sunday.
Abby Jimenez writes the BEST book boyfriends and Daniel was no different. These characters had such tenderness for each other. And of course there were emotional tear-jerker bits and laugh out loud funny bits.
I highly recommend you set aside a chunk of time and read this in one delicious gulp.
TW: Domestic violence, emotional abuse
Auto-buy every book by Abby Jimenez. Abby takes the reader on a love story that has touches of magic the whole way. You will not realize the extra Disney-like magic until the end and it was wonderful. Per usual, I laughed and cried while reading this book. I had to re-read it just to pick up on all the Easter eggs Abby put in.
Alexis is an emergency room doctor in a hospital that her family has been leading for 125 years. She is on her way home from a funeral when fog and a raccoon make her crash her car into a ditch and she is saved by Daniel. Daniel is the local town mayor and is also a part of a family legacy, but he is younger than Alexis. They hit it off and Alexis starts frequently spending all of her free time with Daniel thinking that it is just a fling, but they slowly fall in love, with bumps and laughs along the way.
4.5 STARS
Opposites attract and small town romance meet up in this highly enjoyable story.
Daniel is book boyfriend perfection!
I absolutely adore him! He’s witty, fun and I loved how reliable and supportive he was.
Alexis took a bit more for me to warm up to, she has been treated terribly so I understood her walls were up.
Daniel really is a memorable and amazing character.
It’s a heartfelt journey for these characters with hilarious banter and laugh out loud moments.
There’s butterfly inducing romance and flirtatious banter that’s incredible.
Their chemistry is amazing!
It’s a small town romance with Alexis as the big city outsider. She’s accepted by the wonderful town in a way that she’s never experienced. That was very special.
The secondary characters are amazing and add so much heart and fun. I absolutely loved them!
It’s such an enjoyable story with one of a kind characters.
There’s angst and some heavy issues, that’s not the main vibe or story.
It is so entertaining with amazing characters and a really magical story.
I highly recommend it.
TOO 👏🏻 PERFECT 👏🏻

I absolutely loved the secondary characters as well! Especially Bri! She seems like me and her would get along 🤙🏻

Love, love, loved this book! Abby Jimenez’s latest novel Part of Your World is perfection from start to finish! I adore when a novel plays out like a movie in my mind! Wealthy, highly educated gal meets small-town, heart of gold man initially hooked me, but what Abby Jimenez had in mind for them had me literally unable to put this book down! I very rarely say this, but I DID NOT WANT THIS BOOK TO END EVER! I have read all of Abby’s previous novel and she consistently blows me away with her ability to combine a depth filled storyline, realistic characters all wrapped in witty humor that has me laughing out loud—love that! I adore this 5 star novel and I am hoping beyond hope that Abby may will turn this novel into a very long running series—I could read about these characters forever! If you haven’t gotten the opportunity to read Abby Jimenez, I highly recommend all of her novels and Part of Your World is officially my new top favorite from her to date!
What an amazingly sweet book. I was not prepared for how much I enjoyed this book about two people who shouldn’t work together, but do. Alexis is 37 and an accomplished ER doctor. Her family is medical royalty in Minnesota and she was raised to continue the tradition. While returning from a funeral she runs off the road in a small town two hours from home. I kind man, Daniel, stops and pulls her car out of the ditch. They meet again when she stops at the only hang out in town and they end up spending a perfect night together.
Alexis world is complicated. She has been in an emotionally abusive relationship for several years. Although they’ve recently broken up her family and friends don’t understand why they can’t work things out. It doesn’t help that he works at her hospital and co-owns her house. Daniel’s life is tied to his small town where neighbors take care of each other. He’s makes furniture from wood and runs an B&B in tourist season. He is also ten years younger. The reverse age gap works because they are both capable people in their own skill sets.
Together in his world they are yummy. But she sees no place or future for him in her space. This works on so many levels. It feels realistic and yet there is a some small town magic at work. The side story of her emotional abuse and another characters physical abuse is handled well. There is realistic family and job pressures too for both. Intimacy is such a part of their relationship I was disappointed it was behind closed doors. Both characters are lovable and I couldn’t wait for them to realize that together they are amazing. And I’m totally stealing the phrase “Grace costs you nothing.” and adding it to my lexicon. Sign me up now for Bri’s story in 2023. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. (4.5 stars)
Romance is not my genre... however, I loved this book! I loved the banter, the descriptions of the town and it's citizens, and I loved that the book addressed some serious topics. Sometimes, we choose a family that is more kind than the one we were born into and that's ok.
I think this is my favorite Abby Jimenez book. I highly recommend you read this book!
What a gem!! I adored this book and the growth of these characters throughout. This would make the perfect beach read!💘
They say opposites attract, but can they make it work? That's the question here! As always with Jimenez's love stories, there's a richness and layered feel that builds and develops throughout, slowly cranking up the angst until our couple's worlds seem so far apart. This is probably her least "fun" book so far; typically her books start out light and bubbly before punching you in the gut with angst, but this has more of a slow simmer of heartache that's central to the storyline. You always know that the other shoe is going to drop at some point, and that adds a heaviness to the whole story. It took awhile for me to find my bearings with this one; while I ADORED this sweet cinnamon roll of a hero, I had a tougher time with the heroine. It really is just sex for her at the start, and I didn't like the way she treats her guy. But as she slowly grew and changed, I found myself connecting to the story better, and it had such a nuanced, complex, unique feel by the end.
The story follows Alexis, a doctor (37) who has a mountain of family expectations to live up to... and she's sinking under the weight. Following a recent breakup from the "perfect" boyfriend who emotionally abused her, Alexis is dealing with some tough things in her life. She isn't in the right headspace to date. So when she has car trouble while passing through a small town and a sexy stranger comes to her rescue, Alexis isn't thinking about love or connections. And when she wakes up in his bed the next morning, that hasn't changed. But... there's something about Daniel (28) that keeps reeling Alexis back in. Spending time in his close-knit community and letting Daniel care for her feels like an essential vacation from the real world. Unfortunately, every minute they spend together makes their feelings run deeper, and that makes a hearty dose of reality come crashing into their fantasy world.
The best part of this book? Daniel, hands down. I never really warmed up to Alexis, but Daniel was AMAZING the whole way through. I loved how much he truly cared for Alexis, and he was willing to put his heart on the line for a chance to make things work. That's probably why it rubbed me the wrong way every time Alexis treated him poorly - it's like it never even occurred to her that a 28-year-old man might have feelings and expectations. The other winner here is the small town feel, with a great community and a cast of characters that enhances the story without overwhelming it. It's easy to see how Alexis would fall for this little slice of perfect, and I liked the distinct feel of the story. Jimenez shies away from the intimacy at the start - we barely experience their first few interactions - but it becomes an integral part of the story later on. Yes, there were still things that I wish had happened differently, but seeing these characters grow together was really fulfilling.
Part of Your World is a cute book that encapsulates or somehow addresses seemingly every genre trope. I liked Ali and Daniel, and appreciated that Jimenez went against the grain by making Ali older, without that being the biggest issue keeping the couple apart. However, it all felt very expected, and I literally just read another book that is the identical story, with a woman in medicine and a boy from the other side of the tracks, and her family's prejudices against him. She even has an abusive partner. All of that being said, this book is far better than its nearly-identical predecessor and it's a fun read that kept me entertained enough to finish it.
