CWS: emotional abuse (past and present and on page), parental abandonment, domestic abuse (on page)

This was a solid 4 star read for me and I really blew through this book! This is my first Abby Jiménez book and I enjoyed it very much but had a few hang ups. I really hate the whole ‘I’m leaving you for your own good’ because it completely removes the autonomy of the other person in the relationship and disregards their decision and feelings about it, which I absolutely hate. I also didn’t appreciate the way Alexis treated Daniel in some parts of the book. I think my favorite character was Bri, Alexis’s best friend, love me a Latina doing things. I also thought she was really funny and definitely the voice of reason ( glad she wasn’t just a POC prop if that makes sense). I’m actually really excited that we will be getting a book for her and really hope it’s with Doug) .

I also really want to say that y’all should be really prepared for this book in terms of domestic violence relationships and abusive relationships with partners and parents because there is some very triggering content that happens on page. I think this aspect was handled very well and absolutely loved that there were resources included in the e-ARC. I also really loved that even though this was an older woman/younger man relationship, it was not the focal point of the relationship OR problems, like it NEVER was an issue.

TW: Mental and physical abuse, toxic family relationships

- F/M Dual POV
- Age gap (She’s older)
- Small town romance ish
- She’s protecting him from herself/her life
- Opposites attract
- Closed door romance
- Baby goat in pajamas!!!!🥺

I adore this book. I love the representation of an older woman dating a younger man. It’s something that we don’t see a lot of. On top of that, she was also the one to do the grand gesture at the end to win back her man! LOVE IT!!!

As much as I loved this book, it was still a difficult read with the FMC dealing with a breakup from her abuser and dealing with her own toxic family. It’s hard to see someone go through it even if it’s fictional. I also admire that Abby Jimenez includes details of the difficulty of someone leaving their abusive relationship. It isn’t always as easy as “just leave him.”

OK … now the baby goat in pajamas?! I seriously wish I could see this in real life. Daniel, the MMC, is amazing and an all around good guy, taking care of his little town.

Loved this book and can’t wait for the next one 😍

This book was sweet and steady, much like the characters. I enjoyed jumping into one of Jimenez's new books because her writing is fun and vibrant with such interesting meet cutes and situations. This one was no different. The characters made me fall in love with them while making me laugh. While I enjoyed this one and swooned at Daniel's tattooed sensitive guy ways, this one didn't have the spark I thought it would. The age gap wasn't the issue...it was Alexis. Her complete disregard for following the path her parent's wanted yet caused issues for her with her relationship with Daniel didn't make sense. It was a bit too much and annoyed me, but I think it was sweet how this novel explored the beginnings of a relationship that wasn't based on hate or fake dating. The no-strings-attached vibe was a refreshing way to see love develop between these two.

I look forward to more books from this author!

When city girl Alexis gets stuck in a ditch, small town Daniel is there to save the day. As they start to learn more about each other their worlds will collide and decisions will be made, love or career.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! This was exactly the book I needed to get out of a reading rut. What I enjoyed about this book and what I think sets it apart from other romance books, is that there is a real issue in the story. Most of the time the two characters need only have a simple conversation and what ever misunderstanding is going on could be cleared up. But, there is a real conundrum here and I enjoyed how the story unfolded and the resolution.

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5

Romance, emocional abuse, age difference, cute animals (baby goat, dog and a pig), magical elements and sex scenes described. In the background: physical abuse, child's death, divorces, and lesbian content.

I enjoyed the story and I absolutely love Daniel's character. He's the perfect guy for a romance book! There are some magic elements to the story (rain with no clouds, tree falling when she's trying to leave, and more) that I didn't really like, but the cute animals were a big hit! The emotional abuse that some of the characters suffered was very well described and I liked how much Daniel was good for Alexis. Even the age gap wasn't a big issue, it was actually cute and I love that Alexis found the love she deserved. Overall a enjoyable book and a quick read.

Synopsis: A impossible romance between a woman and a man that lives in two different worlds. She is a doctor that came from very wealthy family of surgeons that have a legacy and they're like royals. He is a small town mayor (just like his whole family was), a bed & breakfast host (his family's old house) and a carpenter guy (hobby). One day coming back from her aunt's funeral, Alexis car got stock on the side of the road after she tried to get away from a raccoon. Daniel was driving on that same road and saw her and helped her tow her car. It's a small town and there was only one place open so she could get food, and Daniel was there with his friends (and the whole town). They ended up going to Daniel's house and that's how it all started. Can't forget to add that Daniel has a baby goat in pjs at home and a dog, and he has a garden, he is sweet, kind and very hot. They fall in love but they live in two different worlds and also, he's 10 years younger than her. Back home, Alexis has a ex that has cheated on her and are now fighting for the house they bough together. He insists in living in the house since he's legally allowed to do so. On the other hand, her father is a narcissist and mean guy that only cares about their legacy. He wants his daughter to marry her ex Neil, because he is a chief surgeon. Her brother married a celebrity and took off, away from his crazy family, leaving Alexis with the big responsibility of continuing the legacy. Alexis knows that her family would never accept Daniel and she could never leave her job and destroy her family's legacy. Daniel is the best character. He's everything a woman wants in a man and more. There's nothing wrong with him, except he's 10 years younger and he wasn't born in the kind of family that Alexis' father would approve. They live 2 hours away and they try to make it work, knowing that it could never happen.

I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Part of Your World is hands down my favorite book I've read so far this year! I've enjoyed all of Abby Jimenez's books that I've read, but this one stole my heart; there was so much to love!

Alexis Montgomery comes from a long line of distinguished doctors and she and her brother are expected to carry on that legacy. While on the way home from a funeral, Alexis ends up in a ditch a couple of hours from home only to be saved by a cute guy.

Daniel Grant lives in the small town of Wakan and while he's the town mayor and runs the B&B, he's also a very talented carpenter. While he may only be 28, he's wise beyond his years and is secure in who he is while trying to continue living up to the Grant family name.

When Alexis is rescued by Daniel and they finally meet again, the sparks between them are undeniable! They both have their own obligations in their own hometowns and while the pull is so strong for them to be together, will they be able to make it work? Alexis has man outside influences that are causing stress and knowing how opposite their lives are makes her think maybe she needs to leave Daniel and Wakan behind.

This was such a fantastic story. I was enthralled from the beginning and while the romantic love was there and the chemistry off the charts, I loved the friendship that was formed between Alexis and Daniel as well. I felt all the emotions reading this book; I laughed, cried, swooned and smiled. As I said above, this is one of my favorites of the year so far. Do yourself a favor and pick it up - you won't be sorry!

I usually like Abby Jimenez but I have to be in the right mental state to read her books because they usually deal with some pretty heavy stuff. This book was the same, but as usual I felt like the happy parts eclipsed the sadness. Alexis is a successful doctor from a very wealthy family in Minneapolis who are basically legacies at a major hospital there. The story starts with Alexis driving back to Minneapolis from a funeral, swerving to miss a raccoon, and driving into a ditch in a rural town called Wakan about two hours from home. A cute local guy (Daniel, who also happens to be the mayor) gives her a tow and they run into each other later at the only bar in town, and Alexis ends up going home with him. It's supposed to be a one night stand, especially when she realizes that he's almost ten years younger than her, but something keeps drawing her back to Wakan and to Daniel, even though she knows he will never fit into her world at home. Alexis is a really well developed character, the victim of a lifetime of emotional and verbal abuse from her father and most recently from a long-term boyfriend who has decided he wants her back. She basically treats Daniel and Wakan as a vacation, but this is a romance so they of course fall in love and have to go through some intense pain and growth and change to get to the end, but I found the end really satisfying, especially with Alexis finding her voice.

Did I just read my favorite book of the year? It’s entirely possible!⁣

Y’all, when I tell you there was nothing I didn’t love about this book, it’s not an exaggeration! I snort-laughed several times…Doug teaching Daniel how to take a certain picture 😏 was freaking hysterical! The Spirit Halloween store reference - comedy GOLD!⁣

Daniel and Alexis were an unlikely pair, but despite being from completely different worlds, they worked together in the best way! I love that they both had things they could teach one another. I love how Daniel had a sweet, boyish side while also showing surprising maturity. Alexis shows exponential growth by the end and I cheered for her along with the gala crowd when she gave her speech. ⁣

The small town - Wakan - was a main character of the book and its influence could be felt throughout. I absolutely loved the magical feel of this place and wish I could go visit! The town gets what it needs! ❤️⁣

My favorite things:⁣
🐐 Chloe - the baby goat⁣
🦮 Hunter - Daniel’s dog⁣
🎥 References to The Princess Bride and Ever After (my favorite movie!)⁣
❤️ All the amazing secondary characters that I can’t wait to see again.⁣

This book also handles serious topics like domestic abuse, both physical and emotional, and handles these sensitive situations with care. Mental health and therapy are themes throughout and I love how openly it was discussed. ⁣

Do yourself a favor and preorder this one now! I promise you’ll laugh, cry, and cheer for these two! ⁣

Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for a eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

If you know me and this page, you know I will always read whatever Abby writes. She is auto buy, read and often reread. Her fourth novel, Part of Your World is out next week.

Part of Your World is about Alexis and Daniel who meet my chance, but find themselves pulled towards each other despite everything that seems to be an obstacle. I love towns with lovably quarkey characters, they are my jam, and this book was full of them. Plus a dog and a goat in PJs, I was sold.

If you loved Abby’s previous novels you will love all the Easter eggs that Abby drops throughout. The Jackson Waters shirt that Daniel wears, Lola entering the story again, a mention of an ALS fundraiser; I am sure there was a few more I missed. All of these ties remind me why I love her characters and novels so much.

I can only hope this will not be the last we see of Alexis and Daniel, or Lola for that matter. Until the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed Part of Your World. The characters are well-developed and highly likeable. The fact that Alexis and Daniel come from vastly different worlds allows for each of these characters to evolve into more well-rounded individuals.

The couple meet when Alexis is driving home from a funeral and runs into a ditch swerving to miss an animal crossing on the road. Daniel tows her out, and later the two meet up again in the bar of the small town where Daniel lives. This small town is charming, full of interesting characters and livestock with celebrity names. The two are instantly drawn to one another and while Alexis doesn’t think the relationship can amount to anything besides a distraction from her everyday life, she soon falls for not only Daniel, but the lifestyle a small town offers.

There are some heavier topics in this book. Daniel was raised by his Grandparents after his mother abandoned him. Unfortunately, this woman is also one who needs constant financial bail outs creating a stressful life for Daniel who wishes to buy the home that has been in his family for many generations. Alexis feels the constant pressure of a lifestyle dictated by her professionally successful father and the family’s long history of providing medical care. Alexis has also recently removed herself from a toxic relationship that effected her well-being. Domestic abuse is discussed in multiple situations in the book. I love how the important messaging in this book shines through while wrapped in the comfort of a romantic blanket.

I enjoyed the push and pull of this relationship as Alexis is torn between her two worlds - her everyday life as an Emergency Physician in the big city and the woman she has become alongside Daniel in his small town. As Alexis works through the conflict of this inner turmoil, her best friend Eri shines some great perspective on the situation. I was delighted to learn that Eri’s story will be shared with readers in 2023.

Alexis Montgomery, city girl extreme, ends up in small town Wakan after landing her car in a ditch. It could end up being the best thing that happens to her. It's there that she meets Daniel Grant, and her world is changed forever. Their chemistry is undeniable, but they are from different worlds. For starters, she is 37 and he is 28. Their lifestyles are too different. She is tethered to her family name and reputation at the hospital where she works two hours away from Wakan. He is the last remaining Grant in Wakan and can't really leave. (He is the mayor of the town, too!)

I really enjoyed this story. I have read all four of this author's books. For me, this is my second favorite. (Behind The Happy Ever After Playlist) I loved all the characters in Wakan and all the magical elements occurring there. I despised Alexis' father for his emotional abuse towards his daughter and wife.

Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for an advance readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I already have my physical copy ordered!

"Grace costs you nothing" - my favorite quote from the book.

4.5 Stars.
This book was a lot more than I was expecting. I have not read any other books by Abby but figured this would be a typical city girl in the country book, but this went so much further. This book tells the story of Alexis, an ER doctor from a powerful family, who stops briefly in a small town and ends up having a one nigh stand with local hunk Daniel who is 10 years her junior. What she meant as a one time thing turns more serious as Alexis falls in love with both Daniel and his town.

I really liked both Alexis and Daniel. I’m not usually one for an age gap, especially when there is also a large socio-economic gap, but this one didn’t bother me. I liked that both Alexis and Daniel were competent in their own life situations and it never felt like was one was cleaning up the other’s mess. I do think the two are very compatible but I did miss the heat as this was a closed-door book.

A major sub-plot in this book is abuse. Alexis experienced emotional abuse from her ex-boyfriend and one of the side characters in the book is in a physically abusive relationship. The book handles the subject well and, for me it never crossed the line into becoming a book about trauma. I do appreciate that the author’s note included resources for those experiencing abuse.

Holy smokes y’all the hype is real! It’s no secret that I’m a huge Abby Jimenez fan. The way she is able to mix fiction with heavy themes is flawless! Part of Your World is no exception.

When Dr. Alexis Grant gets stranded in small town Wakan good guy Daniel Grant comes to her rescue! He has charm and is the perfect gentleman despite being from the wrong side of the tracks. They agree to keep their relationship on the down low while she is dealing with numerous issues back home (familial expections, work expectations and pretty nasty ex). Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible but so is leaving it.

Gosh y’all I have no words to describe how much I loved this story. Daniel Grant is the sweetest guy…did I mention he kind of resembles my husband? Tattoos, brown hair, hazel eyes, calloused hands 🥰 I also loved how smart Alexis is without even knowing it (she’s in the medical field like yours truly! 😆). Their chemistry is off the charts. Also this book is hilarious with one liners and lots of funny animal happenings.

Go buy this book now and thank me later!

This is my favorite Abby book so far! Her writing is so engaging. I was picturing an amazing Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd in this one. The trope of opposite lifestyle was well done. How could anyone not fall for Daniel - he was sweet, selfless and just the best kind of guy. There was such good chemistry between the two characters. I will read anything Abby writes.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed Part Of Your World! This was my first time reading Abby Jeminez, and it certainly won’t be my last.

I really liked both of the main characters Alexis and Daniel. Daniel seemed to bring out a lighter side of Alexis who seems to be carrying a lot of pressure from her family and friends about not only her career but the current state of her relationship with her former partner. While her “friends” Gabby and Jessica royally suck, Bri was a total rockstar! Neil, Alexis’ former partner was the worst!
Daniel and the small village were so charming, and it was easy how Alexis fit in from the first time she ran her car into a ditch. I loved how the community took care of each other like a family!

Overall this was such an enjoyable read, although I highly recommend checking content warnings before going in, as there are some heavy issues that are handled with care. I’m looking forward to Bri’s story coming next spring!

Thank you so much to Forever Publishing and Abby Jeminez for an advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for review.

As soon as I finished this book I thought to myself, ‘and that’s why you preordered this even though you already had it on kindle’ 🤣 For those of you that don’t know me, I normally don’t buy books I haven’t already read. I prefer to buy books I already know I love and want to cherish forever, over one I might love. Seriously though, I love the way Abby writes. I love the characters she creates, and I love how often I laugh out loud while reading her books even as she is ripping my heart out. I finished this book in two days, and I’ll be honest, as I got to the end, I regretted reading it so fast because I didn’t want it to end. My favourite side character ever is now Bri, Alexis’s best friend. She had so many one liners that I took note of that cracked me up but I realized that none of them were as hilarious out of context. I’ll leave you with this one because it’s something I’m pretty sure one of my friends @lehighvalleyfoodforthought would say…or maybe has said and I just can’t remember. 😂🤦‍♀️

“‘Margaritas!” she sang. ‘It’s super strong. I measured the Patron with my heart.’ “

And on that note, I cannot wait for Bri’s story coming out in Spring 2023. It’s not available to preorder yet, I checked… but I already know I need it.

Thank you so much @readforeverpub @netgalley for the advanced digital review copy.

Book Review📚-

Just a small town boy…just a city girl …🎶 Although it sounds like the start of a popular power ballad, what it is is the premise of Abby Jimenez’s new romcom.

Alexis has known what her life will be life since was young. She was groomed as a Montgomery that she would carry on the family legacy as a doctor at Royaume hospital. But suddenly all of her plans have been turned upside down after meeting Daniel, a hot carpenter that is 10 years her junior. They come from different worlds but will they be able to find a way to be a part of each other’s world?

•Modern fairytale
•Loved the little touches of divine intervention and Disney references.
•I was thinking the whole time that Bri needs her own book and then at the end it says she’s the next one in the series. She was hilarious so I’m glad!
•I loved both Daniel and Alexis! I was rooting for them the whole time!

Abby Jimenez has been an auto buy author for me ever since I stumbled upon her books last year. I was so excited to get approved for this ARC and jumped in right away! This book was sweet as candy, romantic and hilarious. It did touch of some bigger issues of abuse, family pressures and societal expectations. A quick and easy read that’s sure to keep you smiling!

Thank you @netgalley , @readforeverpub and @grandcentralpub ! Part of your World comes out April 19, 2022.

Abby Jimenez does it again with a delightful rom-com featuring two very different characters -- as one might say, from two very different worlds. It is a cute, funny, down-to-earth, romance that manages to tie-in a very realistic portrayal of a brilliant, strong-willed woman leaving an abusive relationship, and her seemingly perfect career, luxurious and urban lifestyle, colliding with a hard-working small-town man whose life journey could not be more opposite of hers.

TW: domestic (verbal, emotional, mental) abuse

How are all of her books so good!?

PART OF YOUR WORLD centers around Alexis, a doctor with a strong family history in medicine at a specific hospital in the city, and Daniel, a mayor/carpenter/B&B manager in the country. When Alexis is driving through his small town and runs her car off the road, Daniel helps her out of the ditch. They cross paths later that night when she stops by the local VFW for dinner and end up having a great night together.

Their relationship picks up over the coming weeks until they’re basically a couple (at least in his small town). She could never bring Daniel into he world. Her twin brother’s new wife doesn’t pass her parents’ test of a suitable partner so clearly a tattooed, bearded man who is 10 years younger than her won’t either. She tries to protect Daniel from their scrutiny and the other side of her life but it gets harder and harder. I wasn’t fully sold on the age-gap romance (not my cup of tea) but it wasn’t the “main issue” these two had going for them, so it worked out fine for me. I really loved their chemistry in this one and the kind of opposites attract vibe. (Clearly I can’t resist it because this is the second book with that trope in a row where I read 60% or more of it in one sitting.)

Daniel’s small town and all of the people in it were so cute. I loved seeing Alexis get to know and love them too, and vice versa. Both characters had some interesting backstory around family legacy. Alexis was also struggling with her emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend and some fake friends (on top of the horrible family I mentioned before). As usual, Jimenez balances a lot of more serious elements with a cute, steamy romance. I really enjoyed that the two were together for the majority of the book instead of being a slow-burn where nothing romantic happens until halfway through.

I can’t wait to be back in this world with Bri’s book! It better go the direction I’m hoping 😉

Super cute, funny, romance novel I inhaled. Abby Jimenez had a great way of pulling you in to the more serious topics in the book, but then breaking it up with banter that has me cracking up. Enjoyed from the first to last page.
