Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez was simply wonderful. It’s a perfect romance that is heartwarming, heartbreaking, humorous, and just a delight to read. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned as I read this beautiful story.

Alexis Montgomery, an emergency room physician, was born into a legacy of doctors, who strive to improve medical care. Both her parents are surgeons, as well as her brother, Derek, and have a 125-year legacy of leadership at the second largest hospital in Minnesota. Alexis was born to follow in her parent's footsteps and continue the legacy of hospital leadership, wooing big donors and ensuring the Montgomery family legacy lives on.

When Alexis is driving home from a funeral, she swerves to avoid hitting a raccoon and ends up in a ditch. She is rescued by Daniel Grant, the mayor of Wakan, a carpenter, and a bed and breakfast manager. They meet again in the local bar, but with no food available, Daniel invites Alexis to his home, where he makes her a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich, which then turns into a one-night stand. Alexis finds herself drawn to the small town of Wakan, and Daniel, but their worlds are too far apart, both geographically and economically for the two worlds to ever be compatible.

I loved these characters so much, that I didn’t want the book to end, and yet, I also couldn’t wait until the main characters could finally be together. Daniel is about as close to perfect as a fictional guy can be, without being too good to be true. He knows who he is and what he wants out of life. Alexis is a bit more complex, and that made her a very interesting character.

I also loved the romance. This book is mainly about Alexis and Daniel and their journey to falling in love, and also self-discovery. There are some wonderful side characters in this book, but they are there to support the main characters and do not detract from the story of Alexis and Daniel, as they are the focus of this story. My favorite side characters were of the animal variety, Chole the baby goat, Kevin Bacon the pig, and Hunter, the loveable, and unruly dog.

I just can’t say enough about how much I loved this book. Books like this are the reason I love reading romance books. It’s a story that stayed with me long after I finished the book and will be a book that I will have to re-read soon.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a well-written romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

4th trip on the Jimenez roller coaster of hearts tabby romcom. You laugh, you cry, and you definitely come through feeling some kind of way. This one hit different for me than the first three. Maybe it was because it took me so long to read. I was thrilled to be blessed by the NetGalley Gods with an ARC in September 2020, but then I was drowned by Covid forever (I'm a school nurse). By the time I could finally sit down and read, my own long-covid made it hard to focus. I definitely didn't get it done in a day like the last three books. I cannot wait for the audiobook on 4/19. Apparently Audible can't wait either, since it has to remind me at least once a week that I can't preorder a book more than once and to calm the hell down. It's basically giving me the curt service professional "ma'am, you've already paid for the book. you don't need to order it again. we'll send it as soon as it's released ma'am." And to be honest, I have genuinely forgotten and freaked out that I haven't ordered it more than once, so that's on me Audible, that's on me.
Jimenez writes female characters that are strong, but flawed. They have to come to terms with their flaws to meet their goals, and while it's sometimes agonizing to go through it with them, it's so satisfying. Her males are equally well rounded, and always incredibly delicious. And while Hunter is only "loosely based on Tess," don't tell me you didn't see that shaggy beard and those yellow eyes in your mind every time she talked about that dog. C'mon. It's Tess. I could hear her rooing through the damn Kindle App. I mentally replaced all the "Hunter's" with "Tess's" as I read. Sorrynotsorry.
Bottomline- I will read anything you read Abby, because I friggin love your sass. Keep 'em comin' lady!

Abby Jimenez has done it again! I was so invested in Alexis and Daniel's story. They had a great meet cute and I was so caught up in the time that Alexis spent in his town. Despite their differences, they had such a connection and so much in common. I loved that Daniel loved her for exactly who she was instead of wanting to change her like her family, ex-boyfriend, and "friends" did.

As always Jimenez somehow weaves laugh out loud moments (Oprah style- and you get a penis, and you get a penis) to dealing with heavy issues like domestic violence in Liz and Jake's relationship as well as classism and the health care issues that small towns deal. Their were moments I was frustrated for and with Alexis, but only because I was so sad about how her family and ex treated her. And of course, there is a cute goat in pajamas, so what could be better.

I'm so glad I have a copy preordered so I will have a physical copy for my shelf.

I will update with the link when I share to my bookstagram account.

Abby Jimenez delivers another sizzling romance. And what romance is complete without goats n pajamas, idyllic settings, and a little chocolate!

Part of Your World handles deeply intense topics with the gravity they deserve while also making the reader laugh out loud. Every character is created with depth and realism, from doctors and nurses, to patients, to everyday townsfolk. This beautifully crafted world draws readers in, and the chemistry between the main characters will make your heart flutter in anticipation. A solid read for romance lovers and women’s fiction readers alike.

Thank you so, so much to Forever and Netgalley for providing and e-arc of this!! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

Wow did this book give me all the butterflies. This is one of those books that sticks with you long after you've finished it.

This is an opposites attract romance between a prestigious doctor and a small town carpenter. Despite their vastly different lives and circumstances, they have a deep connection they can't deny. But with so many things standing in their way, they know their time together is limited.

Despite this being a romance and knowing that this ends in a HEA, the stacks in the book felt so high and so real. At no point was I sure how they were going to work out their differences and all the obstacles in their way.

Abby pulls on your heartstrings with this one. While it isn't necessarily heartbreaking, you can't help but grow deeply attached these characters. And when they're struggling, the feeling is so palpable.

The chemistry, the conversation, the romance, everything was so well executed in here.

For those of you who are avid romance readers - this is a closed door romance. You get a few mildly steamy moments, but overall everything happens off page.

All in all, this was an amazing book. There is a the most wonderful magical element sprinkled in here that made this feel like a real life fairytale. I can't wait to read more from Abby Jimenez in the future!

On her way home from a funeral, driving through the small town of Wakan, Alexis Montgomery drives her car into a ditch while trying to avoid hitting a raccoon.

Always around for someone who needs help, Daniel Grant gets Alexis's car out and the two part ways figuring on never seeing each other again.

Except when Alexis has to stop in the local VFW when the roads turn too foggy to drive in and Daniel is there with his group of friends.

When Daniel offers to escort Alexis out, and make her a home-cooked meal, it can't be anything more than that. Getting out of a seriously bad breakup, Alexis isn't looking for any kind of hookup.

But when hookup is what happens, again and again, and feelings start to form between the two, they'll have to reconcile the lives they've always lived with what will ultimately make them happy.

I just fell into this book and this storyline. It really didn't take long before it became everything I wanted to do in a day: read and finish this book. Well here we are and I'm in a huge state of a book hangover.

Honestly, I think this had been my favorite Abby Jimenez book so far. Like Alexis, I kind of felt at ease when she and Daniel were on page together. Their chemistry jumped off the page and was so palpable.

But the real conflict here was not whether or not they had chemistry, it's everything else that surrounds people's lives: jobs, friends, family, homes, etc.

All these things influence and play such a huge role in an individual's life, but what happens when you come from a seemingly entirely different world, so to speak, then the person you're attracted to?

The Little Mermaid reference is a good basis. Except for literally coming from a different world (a la under the sea), Alexis figuratively comes from a different world in that she comes from a very affluent family and has grown up with a lot of privilege throughout her life. Daniel, while wanting for nothing, has grown up and lived in the same small town his entire life and is currently struggling to keep his family's ancestral home from being sold.

But Alexis is also getting out of a terrible, abusive relationship. She's definitely not looking for something serious with someone. When she meets Daniel - and subsequently discovers he's younger than her - she sees it as an opportunity to let loose a little and just have some fun, no strings.

Daniel, however, has no dissolution about Alexis. He knows right away that her life experience is different than his, but he is just plain and simply drawn to her. I think there's something so sweet about a person's uncomplicated feelings for another. He doesn't chide her for not knowing how to peel an onion, he celebrates the things that make her, such as knowing how many bones are in the human body. This is something that her ex would always use against her and seeing Daniel be so open with her throws Alexis for a loop.

She then has to contend with her growing feelings for this man while also trying to fulfill the expectations set upon her by her family's legacy in the medical world. At some point it's about figuring out what you want, and maybe that won't make everyone happy, but everyone is not the most important, you are.

Similarly, Daniel, having grown up in Wakan his entire life also has a family legacy to contend with. It's almost like the town lives and breathes through the Grants. I loved that Wakan kind of takes on a life of its own. It's very subtle, but something I wish we got to see just a little more of throughout the story. It almost mirrors the life that two people build together and how that influences generations of people to come. Kind of building a community.

Honestly, this has been one of my favorite reads of the year so far. It's one of those books that I didn't want to put down, but also didn't want to end.

Another great job from Abby Jimenez who has become an auto-read author for me.

ER Dr Alexis has been groomed since birth to follow a certain path in life. Even down to marrying the "perfect" man who is not so perfect. Despite knowing her place in the world, she feels like she doesn't really belong...until the universe, a baby goat, and a deaf hunting dog along with a sweet and gorgeous carpenter turn her world upside down. This is the second book that I have read by this author and she really writes compelling stories with interesting characters that make you want to continue reading the story. Alexis is struggling with her life path, after recently ridding herself of her abusive boyfriend and is not looking for another relationship especially with someone who doesn't seem to fit into her life. But Daniel is the perfect boyfriend, sweet, caring, loving and a decade younger and her stuck up elitist parents would rip him apart. He also lives in a small town 3 hours away. She doesn't want to give Daniel up but she also doesn't want to disappoint her parents and tries to juggle everything including keeping Daniel, who makes her happy, hidden from her family and friends.

I loved the writing in this novel but Alexis continuing to be a bit snobby about Daniel throughout the whole book just lasted a little too long for me. Despite that, I loved the growth of Abby as Daniel taught her to do basic things that she never had to do and I also loved Daniel's steadfastness as his feelings for Abby never wavered. A really beautiful and enjoyable romance.

Alexis Montgomery's family is medical royalty. Her mother, father, and ancestors were all surgeons at Royaume Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. It is assumed in her family that her and her brother will take over as the family presence within the hospital. Much to her father's dismay, Alexis has taken the emergency medicine route and not a more "accomplished" position. Plus, when her brother elopes while in Cambodia for Doctors Without Borders, she realizes that not only is he not coming back to Minneapolis, her family's legacy lies solely in her hands. While driving back from a funeral, she ends up stranded in a ditch in a backwoods town, thanks to a raccoon on the road. Daniel Grant helps her get her car out of the ditch, and she runs into him again at the local pub. Daniel is not only extremely attractive, he is also much, much younger than her, so she assumes nothing will come of the mutual attraction. However, sparks fly and they spend the night together, even though that is something Alexis usually doesn't do. Alexis knows that she couldn't possibly have a future with Daniel. He lives in this hick town, is the mayor, and is a carpenter. That doesn't make them compatible in the very least; plus, her family would never approve. But Alexis is tired of doing what everyone else wants her to do. What about what she wants? The more time she spends with Daniel, the more time she realizes that their relationship isn't just a fleeting romance. Abby Jimenez's Part of Your World is a delightful opposites attract romance that fans of her work will most definitely enjoy.

Alexis is a character that you can't help but root for in Part of Your World. She has a lot of issues that stem from how her family treats her as well as her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, who is also a doctor at the hospital. Cue the drama. Her family loves her ex, but she knows he isn't the guy for her, not to mention he is a total creep. She keeps trying to escape him, but it's been difficult. They share a house together and he doesn't want to break up with her. Insert Daniel into this equation and you have polar opposites in love interests. Daniel is a genuinely good guy with Alexis's best interests at heart. He cares about the town he lives in and is an extremely loyal friend. The community relies on him and he is the very definition of dependable. It doesn't hurt that he is a masterful carpenter, extremely good looking, and very young. All of this makes him swoon-worthy, but Alexis keeps trying to resist a serious relationship with him because he doesn't fit the mold of who she thinks she should be with.

As the story progresses, Alexis must figure out what she truly wants, not just what her family wants, or what they expect of her. She must be courageous enough to forge her own path and follow her heart. It takes her some time to get to that point though. I appreciate that Part of Your World addresses trauma and digs deep into the characters; this isn't just a fluffy romance as it touches on a lot of different emotions. Alexis really has to work on herself and feel empowered to make her own decisions. It was frustrating at times to watch Alexis be so mistreated, but I was definitely caught up in her story and rooting her on.

Additionally, I really enjoyed the secondary characters that Jimenez created in Part of Your World. They weren't just characters that were on the sidelines, barely developed, instead they were very memorable. I truly cared about their stories, especially Daniel's cousin and some of the other town's residents.

Part of Your World is the perfect springtime read. Fans of Jimenez's romances won't be disappointed. This is my first novel I've read by Jimenez, but it definitely won't be the last. If you are a fan of contemporary romances, definitely pick up a copy of Part of Your World, which comes out on Tuesday.

A wealthy doctor finds herself caught between her heart and her family's expectations when she falls for a kind-hearted small-town mayor.

Although abuse survivors should proceed with caution due to possible triggers, this story depicts verbal and emotional abuse and generational abuse with depth and compassion. A large part of the clash between the hero and heroine's worlds comes from the different ways that family, community, and tradition have affected who they have grown up to be. In the hero's small town, everyone lifts one another up as part of a respectful, communal family with deep roots that allow the characters to feel grounded, safe, and part of something larger. In the heroine's world, however, traditions are used by abusers to control her, to keep her trapped within the structures they have created, and to take away her agency. The two settings become a powerful illustration of this dichotomy and it is not only the relationship but the uplifting community which finally gives the heroine the foundation she needs to begin forging her own path and rebuilding her self-worth. Thematically powerful with a swoony love story, this novel is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance or women's fiction and would be a great pick for book clubs.

Thank you Read Forever for the gifted e-copy.

Oh my goodness, I loved this book. This might be my favorite so far. The chemistry between Alexis and Daniel was palpable right from the start. Their banter was excellent, plus there's a baby goat in pajamas...WHAT?!?!?

Alexis is a rich city girl, a doctor, from a powerful medical profession family. Her parents have very high expectations for her, and it seems like nobody is good enough for her (and them) except her ex boyfriend. Who, by the way, is an emotionally abusive sh*t. Daniel is from a small town, owns a b&b (although, he IS the mayor) and he's about 10 years younger than Alexis. He has a strong support system, other than his addict of a mother, who wants to sell the b&b.

Alexis and Daniel are drawn to each other, but Alexis knows/thinks that they can't have a future together. When is she going to tell her parents to go to hell, and do what SHE wants and what will make her happy? And if that is Daniel, then Alexis has some decisions to make.

The mentions of Nadia Cakes were perfection, too - LOVED it.

So so good. All the stars - and I just pre-ordered a signed copy.

You ever finish a book and absolutely love it but you can’t find the words to explain why? That’s me with this one. I’ve read and adored all of Abby’s books but this is my favorite for sure, it was such a balanced mix between super heavy and sad and funny and charming and I couldn’t get enough. There is the authors trademark humor and wit, of course Daniel is the sweetest and he’ll make you fall in love with him and Alexis is definitely the kind of character you want to befriend in real life. But what made this one special for me was the darkness and depth, it added so many layers to a fantastic story and it truly got under my skin. If you’ve her other books you know that she takes her characters on quite a journey and this was no exception, these people have to work for their HEA. But it’s so worth it in the end, it really is. I do want to mention this deals with abuse in a few forms so if that’s a trigger take care before starting this one but I thought it was handled with grace and was really well done.

I absolutely love Abby Jimenez! Her books are constantly amazing! This one is no different!

Alexis and Daniel meet-cute is perfect and sets up their relationship in the best way every! Being a Doctor is hard, being a Doctor who’s family thinks isn’t living up to their expectations is even harder. However, Alexis makes it work until she meets Daniel and life gets turned upside down. A guy her family will never accept but who steals her heart none the less, along with the amazing little town he lives in.

As always there are some heavy topics in this book, this one specifically deals with domestic abuse. Abby as always does a good job of intertwining these sensitive topics into her love stories and is respectful to anyone who may have or are still going through it.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Forever publishing for a copy of this book! This is my honest voluntary review.

WOW. I loved this book. I could not put it down, to the detriment of my sleep. It grabs you right away and doesn't let go.

This is the story of Alexis Montgomery, yes, she's one of "those" Montgomerys and has a lot to live up to in her life. You see, her family has basically made themselves the medical family of her state, and possibly the country. She has been raised to know her place in the family legacy and nothing, and no one, shall get in her way. According to her family.

Then she drives into a ditch, Daniel Grant tows her out of the ditch, and then makes her a grilled cheese. Yes, a grilled cheese. You know where this is going, right? Head over heels, drop everything, commute two hours each way to see me, this is it. We are in love.

This book will make you laugh, will make you feel butterflies in your stomach, and will make you secretly admire the few nods towards Disney Princesses. Briana, the best friend, is hysterical, and her book is next and I absolutely can not wait.

Favorite quote: "Grace costs you nothing". I will think about that always.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is one of those books where I can't get my review out because I don't have the words. I love the opposites attract elements here, the nod to Cinderella, the forced distance, and the escapism.

This story felt beautiful and intense while also being sweet and charming. Daniel is a rugged, hardworking, pillar of his community. He is doing everything he can to save his family business. Alexis is an ER doctor, she has had everything at her fingertips her entire life and yet some of the most important things remain elusive so when these two characters meet their romance kinda sweeps you off your feet. Add to that Alexis family drama, the Ex living in her basement, and her upcoming promotion and everything kinda boils over.

This is one of those stories that sits with you long after it is over and makes you turn back the pages to re-experience it.

Highly recommend!!

This author is so good at giving you everything in her books! Laughter, love and heartbreak. She’s always an auto buy for me because you know her words are going to make you feel.

I loved the opposites attract and the big city, small town vibe. It’s always fun to read about the city girl finding her man in a small town.

Since they are so different there are definitely hurdles to jump over but with the comedy and the feels this book makes you root for them in the end.

Alexis comes from a prominent family with a long line of renowned surgeons at a big city hospital.

Daniel is a small town carpenter who likes living the quiet casual life.

Their worlds collide with a bet, a gourmet grilled cheese, and a baby goat in pajamas. Afterwards, they just can't shake one another. It's it plausible to merge their lives, or is it doomed from the start?

I mean, same.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and ohhhh myyy it did NOT disappoint. I adore Abby Jimenez. Her books are filled with so much heart, hilarity, and gut-punching emotional depth. This one is no exception, and possibly my favorite of her books so far.
Read it. Love it. Repeat.

Y'all!!! Part Of Your World by Abby Jimenez has it all! And I mean ALL!!

After running her car off the road, Alexis finds herself stranded. She calls for a tow truck, but what she gets was the towns Mayor, Daniel Grant. He may be 10 years younger than her, but the chemistry between them, is off the charts! They couldn't be more different, or are they? Alexis is an ER doctor and lives in the city. Daniel lives in a small town, does a little bit of everything and is content with his life. Both of them have their worlds rocked when they realize how much they like each other.

This book isn't just a romance... There is abuse in all of its forms. Abby Jimenez touches on each kind of abuse, from emotional, mental, verbal and physical with such grace and realism. You can feel each characters pain, loneliness, and shame. As a reader you will find yourself getting angry, crying and feeling all the emotions. Abby Jimenez really knows how to draw these emotions out of her characters and out of her readers!

There isn't just sad, emotional moments. The laugh out loud moments come fast and often! I will NEVER look at a ring light the same way again!! 🤣🤣🤣

And for you Disney lovers out there, you will pick up on more than one Disney reference in this book! That, for me, just made this book even more enjoyable!! I don't read a bunch of romance novels, but I know a great one when I read it, and this is a great book!! 4.5⭐

Thank you to Netgalley, Forever and Abby Jimenez for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Now if y'all will excuse me I am off to buy Abby Jimenez back list!! 💙

Quaint, alluring, and undeniably affecting!

Part of Your World is a sweet, intimate, evocative tale that takes you into the life of ER doctor Alexis Montgomery as she struggles to juggle a successful career, a toxic ex, weighty familial expectations, and a budding attraction to a man almost ten years her junior who seems to be slowly stealing her heart piece by piece.

The writing is heartwarming and tender. The characterization is spot on with a wonderful cast of characters that are multilayered, quirky, amusing, and endearing. And the plot unwinds and unravels effortlessly into a beguiling tale bursting with heart, hope, healing, and heat.

Part of Your World is, ultimately, a story about life, love, expectations, trust, forgiveness, family, friendship, community, relationship dynamics, and discovering one’s true self. It is an addictive, moving, exceptionally romantic novel by Jimenez that is hands down one of my favourite reads of the year and is, without a doubt, another brilliant novel by an author I can never get enough of.

Well, Abby Jimenez. You are now four for four. I’ve read all four of your fantastic books, and they’ve all been five star reads for me. They just keep getting better and better! The author has a special gift for creating memorable and lovable characters, and crafting storylines that will suck you in immediately. Jimenez always makes me smile, laugh, and even cry. She grabs your heartstrings, then pulls, twists, and refuses to let go. The chemistry she concocts between her fictional couples is sizzling hot, super fierce, and intense. Jimenez mixes family drama with romance so flawlessly in Part of Your World. The reader receives a sweet and spicy love story about Alexis and Daniel, and their road to coupledom, while also including a good look at each of their backstories regarding family life. Including both of their individual stories provides much more depth and grit to the plot. You can’t help but form a connection to them both. Oh, and the conversation involving a ring light had me absolutely howling. My face hurt from laughing so hard. If you’ve read this one already, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t read it yet, be prepared for some giggling! (I’m snickering as I type this!) This truly is a well-rounded story with themes of family, friendship, career-life, and love, obviously. If you’re a big rom-com fan like me, you MUST grab a copy of this wonderful book on release day - April 19th. Abby Jimenez has done it again, my friends. 5/5 amazing stars for Part of Your World! I absolutely loved it.

Abby Jimenez is officially one of my 'go-to, got to read asap, freak out when a new book releases' authors. Her books are all filled with emotion but also witty sarcastic characters that I personally end up adoring.

Part of Your World knocked it out of the park and kept me wanting to read late into the night even though I'm a sleep deprived mom with a newborn.

Trigger warnings: emotional/verbal/physical abuse, cheating, depression
