This was a true delight of a romance!

I've read plenty of age gap romances, but it's always the male lead as the older love interest, so let me just begin by stating how nice it was to read the woman as the older love interest. 37 year old city girl Alexis finds herself falling for 28 year old small town boy Daniel, and the feeling is oh so very mutual. That special mutual feeling incites a romance that empowers both characters to become the best versions of themselves. Providing a valuable lesson in always remembering our worth.

Daniel might become one of my favorite book boyfriends ever-- he is the ideal man. Respectful, loyal, kind, funny, and selfless. He puts others above himself and takes care of all the people in his small town-- a community that is most definitely a family.

Alexis is weighed down by the burden of responsibility, she loves her parents unconditionally to the point she has forgotten to show herself the same love in the process. A chance meeting with Daniel begins a journey of self-discovery and freedom for Alexis, who begins to a taste a life free from expectations and filled with love that supports her back, rather than leaving her dangling.

The chemistry between these two is superbly done. I was committed to them from the start and bite my nails down to a stub as I anxiously awaited to see how their relationship would develop.

Now while some may look towards the town of Wakan (truly it's own character) as the cupid of the book, let me shine a light of Alexis' best friend Bri. Bri was such a favorite of mine-- she was the only other person in Alexis' life, aside from Daniel, who loved her for who she is and not for what she was expected to be. Bri wished for Alexis' happiness and had some key scenes within the book trying her best to direct Alexis in the right direction towards that happiness. Bri is the best friend we all deserve to have and also should try our best to be. I am thrilled to see Bri will be getting her very own book next Spring-- I'm so curious to see where romance will lead her!

If there was any hiccup it may be with the 'magic' of Wakan. It became rather heavy handed at one point, for me. Nevertheless, this 'hiccup' is not enough to deter me from giving a solid 5 stars. I consumed this book wholeheartedly and loved it to bits. From start to finish, I was in.

It's one I intend to recommend to all.

As comforting as the book was, there are also trigger warnings to be aware of:
The leading heroine is out of a recent emotionally and mentally abusive relationship, and a secondary character is in a present physically abusive relationship. The narrative takes great care of approaching this topic. A main component in Alexis' journey of self-growth is reflecting on how the type of abuse she suffered under ripped away her power and agency. She takes the steps to regain both back.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever for providing me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

I really loved the dynamic between these two in this age-gap romance! Alexis is a fancy city girl/ER doctor who has never cleaned her own house and Daniel is a hot carpenter/B&B caretaker/town mayor, but their immediate connection and the cosmic pull to each other is really cute!

Will Alexis follow her heart and let Daniel into her life or give in to her family and friends to accept the right partner for her prestigious family name??

Find out on April 19th! Also there's a baby goat involved which is reason enough to read!

Thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for this advanced reader!! 💗

Abby Jimenez has turned into an auto buy author for me. Anything she writes is magic, Part of your World is exactly that, magic. I could not read fast enough, her writing style sucks you in from the beginning and never leaves you disappointed.
Alexis comes from a well known family in the medical world, her whole life and future has been laid out for her with huge expectations to fulfill.
Daniel is a part time carpenter, mayor, jack of all trades. He seems to have the perfect laid back, happy life.
On the way home from a funeral Alexis ends up in a ditch, being on a rural country road, she thinks she is stuck for a while. Until Daniel happens to come along and save the day. After the brief encounter, she doesn't believe she will ever see him again.
Of course, they meet again in the town bar. From there we learn of Alexis' former relationship and the stress she feels to live up to her families expectations. We learn of Daniel's life and what his hopes and aspirations are.

This book read like a conversation with my best friend. I cannot recommend this book enough!

I'm can't believe I've never read Abby Jimenez before, because this was such a cute love story! Alexis is a doctor living the fancy life, but going through a giant breakup and dealing with almost everyone in her world not understanding why she won't take her (cheating!) boyfriend back. On the way home during a long drive, she swerves into a ditch, and is pulled out by a kind stranger from a nearby town (enter Daniel, the other half of this meet-cute). They hit it off, and suddenly Alexis finds herself wanting to make the long drive down to be around Daniel. But it's only physical, right? She can't possibly be falling for this mayor/carpenter/tattooed guy/B&B runner and the town he lives in, right?

Though Alexis omitted a lot of important things during her relationship with Daniel, I appreciated that for the most part, they communicated so well. Or at least, they tried. If you deal with the feelings of not ever being able to please your world (your family, friends, work, etc.) then you'll definitely relate with Alexis, and how hard some of her decisions were to make. And it you love the idea of a well-rounded, sweet, bearded and tattooed guy who gets along with everyone and treats everyone right, then I'm sure Daniel will be your next book boyfriend. He's a sweetheart.

My only complaint is that some of the context is told later rather than shown at the beginning. I don't mind being dropped in the middle of a story, but sometimes the information (like what state we were in) wasn't at the forefront, which made it harder for me to imagine. Overall, a fun rom-com for the masses!

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever Publishing for the e-ARC!

I do love Abby's writing style. She's funny yet hits some hard subjects as well.

Alexis had just ended a mentally abusive relationship and wasn't looking for anything, let alone anything serious. Daniel is instantly attracted to Alexis but is cool with taking things slow. Can Alexis comit fully or does she do what she feels is expected of her?

Read this book!! You will laugh, cry and at times you may want to smash something. But it's all worth it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Part of Your World in return for an honest review!

I love Abby Jimenez books! I love the characters she creates and all the emotions she can make you feel as a reader! This story follows Alexis who is a doctor that lives in Minneapolis and Daniel who is a small town guy living in Wakan. After almost hitting a racoon going through this small town Alexis meets Daniel when he helps get her out of the ditch! This story is the push and pull of what is more important... Keeping the plan you set for yourself or going to the place that feels like home. Also she always has cute animal characters in her books, this one has a baby goat in pajamas and a clumsy, sweet dog!

Abby has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I would recommend all her books!

When an ER doctor gets stranded on the side of the road and rescued by a handsome, small-town carpenter, sparks fly and opposites attract in this heartwarming and heart wrenching romance.

I loved this book, and it is currently tied in the top spot with Life’s Too Short as my favorites from author Abby Jimenez. I love Abby’s ability to write such compelling characters and great love stories while also tackling difficult and painful topics like in the case of this novel, physical and mental/emotional abuse.

Alexis is an ER doctor in need of some saving herself. Daniel is a small-town carpenter/mayor/B&B runner who finds her stranded on the side of the road after a minor car accident. The more they get to know each other, the more they start to really live. Alexis has felt trapped in her home and her job, mostly due to her horrible parents and her even worse ex-boyfriend who spent the majority of their seven-year relationship belittling her and lowering her self-esteem. She thinks her relationship with Daniel is only meant to be a fling. He’s almost ten years younger than she is and he lives two hours away. There’s no way that he could possibly fit into her life. But the more time they spend together, Alexis realizes the only time she feels like she can actually breathe is when she’s with him, in his small town, living life simply and freely.

I loved their chemistry and their banter. Alexis grows so much and learns about herself while in the end saves herself from the things that were dragging her down. Daniel is absolutely top-tier book boyfriend material, and is just the sweetest, most caring man. Plus, he has a baby goat. Always lead with that if you have a baby goat!

This was such an enjoyable and atmospheric read. The small-town vibes were very present and made me wishful for traveling and meeting new people! Overall, I highly recommend!

SCREAMING OMG okay *deep breath* here we go with an actual review

So this is the contemporary romance I’m trying to read right now. I am honestly really sick of the rom-com fake dating with a third act breakup shtick. This book has depth, and meaning, and characters that feel so real it’s like they jumped out of the page at you. But it also manages to be sweet and funny (I mean…Chloe?!???) It’s one of the best depictions of big city vs small town romance I’ve ever seen, and presents it not as a silly joke, but a real obstacle to overcome. This is a story of two unlikely people who fall deeply in love but have to figure out how they fit in each other’s lives.

The frank discussions of mental health, the breaking of generational trauma, escaping emotional and physical abuse, falling in love, choosing yourself, shifting your priorities, letting yourself be happy, delicious angst, open communication. If you like the idea of any of these things you will LOVE this book. It absolutely gripped me beginning to end and by the last page tears were streaming down my face because no one has ever deserved a happy ending more than Daniel and Alexis, and that’s just facts.

CW: familial and domestic emotional abuse and gaslighting, physical domestic abuse (side characters)

Alright, buckle up folks…

Just when I thought I’d already read the perfect rom-com, in comes Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. This is the rom-com you never knew you needed. This is the rom-com of ALL rom-coms. The QUEEN ROM-COM. Have I convinced you yet?

I cried. I laughed. — Wow. Just wow.

This story starts off with a mischievous little raccoon who collides with Alexis’s car. The little bandit throws Alexis off road and into a ditch… and in comes Daniel. (Daniel is by far the BEST book boyfriend ever… and I even dare you to challenge me on that!)

Daniel is a talented carpenter, the mayor of Wakan (which is a VERY small town), and the owner of a bed & breakfast. He is kind, caring, sweet, and oh so dreamy. He pulls Alexis back onto the road and she goes on her merry way… until she makes a pit stop and ends up in the same pub as Daniel, shortly after her off-road catastrophe.

After a silly bet from one of Daniel’s friends in the bar that night, Alexis and Daniel have no idea that their worlds are about to collide. Except Alexis is a workaholic ER doctor, and comes from a ridiculously wealthy family… which is totally opposite of Daniel. Does this relationship even stand a chance between two people who come from two very different walks of life?

This story is a beautiful, small town, second chance, emotional rollercoaster that I would give 100 stars to if I could. It is now officially my number one rom-com of all time!

Part of Your World was my first book by Abby Jimenez, and it definitely won’t be my last. In fact, I have three of her other books on my shelf begging to be read after finishing this book.

Alexis is from high society and she is the Meredith Grey of this book. Daniel? Sigh…what’s not to love? He’s a mayor of a small town caring for a baby goat in pajamas!

This book is a battle of social status, a battle with parent’s expectations, and a battle of the heart. It addresses serious issues like emotional and physical abuse while keeping the atmosphere mostly light. You can feel the emotional struggles that Alexis goes through as her two worlds collide.

I cannot remember the last time I laughed as hard as I did while reading this book. Chapter 25! That’s all I can say. DEAD! And we cannot for get about overloving Hunter, squirrels at breakfast, and Kevin Bacon.

5 stars

I swore once I finished @authorabbyjimenez 's Part Of Your World that I would simply post my review on Goodreads, play it cool, and wait until closer to April to post anything on Bookstagram.

You see how well that worked out for me?!?

When it comes to Abby's books, I have NO CHILL WHATSOEVER, so when I was approved to read her latest last weekend, it immediately jumped to the top of my TBR and it could not be tamed.

Y'all, this book is everything. It will make you laugh out loud, swoon, sob into your pillow, experience butterflies - in- your -stomach excitement, and feel as though you've been put through the emotional wringer by the end of it. But, in typical and beautiful Abby fashion, it will be 1,000,000 percent worth it, and you will absolutely fall in love with everyone involved (aside from a few characters who shall remain nameless), secondary characters and adorable animals included!

I'm saving my big review for Goodreads and for closer to April when this masterpiece hits shelves, but for now, know that you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY need Alexis, Daniel, Bri, Doug, Brian, Liz, Derek, Hunter, and Chloe in your life!! You don't want FOMO come April, so drop what you're doing and give this book a pre-order or library hold ASAP. And if you haven't read any of Abby's amazing work yet? You have over five months to read three SPECTACULAR books, so GET AT IT!

A huge, huge thank-you to @readforeverpub @authorabbyjimenez @thatssostelle@netgalley and @toallthenerdygirls for my #gifted galley. You have made my week, month, year, and I can't wait to chat more about this one! Have you read this one yet? If so, hit me up because I need to gush, and also, if you're on Facebook, join Abby's reader group for Part of Your World, or if you're interested in an ARC, check out her Traveling ARC Program!

Abby Jimenez’ books are so damn easy to get lost in and devour within 24 hours. Part of Your World follows two people who are upholding their family legacies, but from two different sides of the track. Alexis from a prestigious line doctors, and Daniel, the “mayor” of a small and lovely town. Alexis and Daniel meet by fate, and the love between them shines from the very beginning, regardless of how much Alexis tried to deny it. As all of Jimenez’ books do, there is an important theme that this book touches on. The reality that emotional abuse is just as volatile as physical abuse, sometimes even worse. People sometimes don’t take it seriously because a person doesn’t physically harm you, but the toll it takes on a persons heart and psyche can easily have life threatening consequences.

What I loved:
- The magical town of Wakan, it is a dream of mine to live in a small town where everyone is a part of your tribe, blood or not.
- Daniel. He is an absolute angel. Always putting others before himself and loving so hard with his heart on his sleeve.
- The important message of different kinds of abuse. (Not being able to leave out of fear, always thinking things will be better, having a support system who helps you plan when you decide to leave, overcoming those fears).
- The adorable animals throughout the story and their hilarious names.

What I disliked:
- How much Alexis harped on the age difference. As Bri said, if a man was ten years older than the woman, no one would even flinch. They were both adults, it wasn’t that serious.
- How much Alexis allowed her father to rule her life. I know that this is a part of her trauma; but it comes to a point where if you let your father control you at 38 years old, enough is enough.
- How Alexis treated Daniel. He deserved so much better. It made my heart break every time she’d make excuses that it’s all sex, when anyone would be lucky to have him.

All in all, I loved this book just like every other one of Abby’s books. They are a warm hug on a cold day. I can’t wait to see what Jimenez has in store with her next book about Bri!

Move this one to the top of your stack. I am a huge fan of Abby Jimenez's books and this one does not disappoint.
Dr. Alexis Montgomery is medical royalty and has everything money can buy except love. Thanks to a run-in with a raccoon, she has to take a detour through a tight-knit small town and meets the mayor, Daniel Grant. Daniel might be one of my favorite book boyfriend characters ever. He is kind, funny, hard working and well...perfectly perfect.
I got a "Hart of Dixie" vibe from this book and just fell in love with the wacky cast of characters. Who wouldn't love a pig named Kevin Bacon who wanders the streets wearing an orange vest and sporting his owner's Venmo in case you want to take your picture with him? A hint of Disney magic and a love story for the ages- this one gets 5 stars and a huge thumbs up! Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED this book. This author's books just get better and better. First of all, this book held me from the first page to the last page. it was well written and the conflict. Oh, the conflict. You could just see the train wreck that Alexis was creating for herself. These two characters couldn't be more different but found something in each other. I really loved everything about this story. At times, I felt so bad for Daniel. I know Alexis doesn't mean to treat him the way she does. She has her reasons, but I still felt bad for him. I loved the small town that Daniel lives in and I want a Daniel for my very own. I appreciate how he lived a simple in a simple town, but I still feel like he was very successful. This book will definitely in my top 10 romances of the year. Grab this book as soon as it releases! Huge thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read and review this book!

3.55 stars! While this book was a very good concept, I struggled to enjoy it as much as the previous Abby Jimenez books I have read.

Jimenez does it again! She crafts the absolute most delightful stories with the most lovable, believable characters! I'd read a grocery list if she wrote it and this book is no exception!

Dr. Alexis Montgomery ends up in a ditch in the middle of nowhere on her way home from a funeral. She ends up being pulled out by Daniel, an attractive fella nearly a decade younger than her. Fresh out of a toxic relationship, Alexis thinks she can have a no strings attached fling with the handsome stranger. When they both catch feelings she keeps telling him it can never go anywhere. Their worlds are just too different. Can they figure out how to invite one another into the world of the other and make it work?

This is my first book by Jimenez and it certainly won’t be my last! I laughed, cried, and felt so many feelings reading this wonderful story! I rooted for Alexis and Daniel the whole time and wanted them to get their happily ever after! This is definitely one I will be recommending! Thanks to #netgalley and Abby Jimenez for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I cannot even put into words how much I loved this book. I loved The Friend Zone series, but I loved this one even more! I already know this is going to make my list of favorite books for the year.

I read this book in less than 24 hours because I couldn't stop reading! It's my favorite thing when a book sucks me in and holds me in its grasp.

Being in the medical field, I love when a book has touches of medicine in it. I also love how wonderfully Abby Jiminez addressed the tough topics of domestic abuse and mental illness.

And I haven't even mentioned Daniel yet. The most swoonworthy book boyfriend you coud ever ask for! 😍

I literally cannot wait to see what comes next from this author.

I loved the chemistry between Alexis and Daniel. I thought Alexis’s character growth was great and I liked how the author dealt with the more serious topics.
