Yet another fantastic book from Abby Jimenez.
This book had me giggling out loud in the beginning. The dialogue between the friends - Alexis/Bri, Daniel/Doug/Brian - and the couple was just great. I loved not just the banter but also the support.
This story features a theme of domestic violence. Alexis is working on disconnecting from her ex who was emotionally abusive and manipulative. Throughout the book, she also comes to understand why she accepted that treatment.
Alexis is a ER doctor who comes from a long line of doctors who have worked at the same hospital. There are expectations being placed on her for what she should be doing with her life and who she should be with. Throughout the book she is working to find what matters most to her and how she wants to use her influence and skills.
Daniel is a carpenter who also runs a B&B. He also comes from a long line of mayors of their small town who have supported the residents. He loves his town and could never see himself leaving, until he meets Alexis.
This couple has a nice little gap in age with Alexis being older. At first she feels like this will impact their relationship which she wants to keep light. Of course things progress and they both catch feelings. Alexis struggles to see where Daniel can fit into her life due to the expectations on her and how she was raised.
So, that was a nice long recap. Basically I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Alexis and Daniel came together. And I liked seeing Alexis come to understand she wanted to make a change with her life. I liked Alexis and Daniel’s interactions with the residents of his town. They were funny and sweet. I was invested in the relationship, but I was more invested in Alexis and her character development.
I would definitely recommend. (And would rate somewhere between 4 and 5 stars)

The latest from Abby Jimenez may be my favorite of hers yet! This opposites-attract, age gap romance was so sweet and tender but with the great banter I’ve come to expect from the author. The chemistry between Daniel and Alexis was incredible, even with this story being a bit more closed-door than some of the author’s precious books.
There were a lot of tough topics included, such as verbal, emotional and physical abuse, and strained family relationships. It was rewarding to see Alexis grow more independent and realize her worth and strength. Additionally, Daniel was just wonderful with a heart of gold.
Definitely recommend picking this one up next month!
Another great book by Abby Jimenez! I enjoyed the struggles the two main characters went and showd the way they worked through their differences. What a fun read!
Abby Jimenez delivers yet another amazing romance novel–one that just might be her best yet!
Alexis Montgomery is on her way home from a funeral when her car breaks down just outside of a small town. When a handsome local offers to tow her out, one thing leads to another, and they spend the night together. The morning after, Alexis realizes that this man is almost ten years younger than her, and she panics, returning to the city, fully intending to leave this encounter in her past. But forgetting the sweet, generous, and handsome Daniel is easier said than done.
Alexis and Daniel both come from completely different worlds. Alexis comes from a family legacy of doctors, and the fact that she’s only an ER doctor has made her a disappointment in her parents’ eyes. The hospital has always had a Montgomery on staff, and now that her parents have retired and her brother has moved away, the mantle of being the celebrity doctor falls to her. Daniel lives in a small town and runs the B&B that’s been in his generation for 150 years. He’s in danger of losing it, and he’s working extra hard to keep it in the family. While their lives and upbringings are very different, there are several parallels that are cleverly thought out. For instance, Daniel is dedicated to maintaining his family legacy, and so is Alexis, but she’s doing it out of obligation, and he’s doing it out of love.
This book is so funny and sweet. There are so many parts that are downright hilarious, from the situational humour to the lines that certain characters come up with. While Alexis may be nine years older than Daniel, he’s the one that has his life and his priorities in the right order, and Alexis has a lot of growing up to do. In true Abby Jimenez fashion, this book has a fair bit of angst, which makes the star-crossed lovers’ happy ending seem unattainable at first, making the resolution even more satisfying.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves an angsty rom com, and other fans of Jimenez will definitely want to read this the instant it’s released!
I loved this book so much! It was fun and interesting in all the best ways! I love when a book doesn't waste any time getting started on the actual storyline. From the beginning, I loved Alexis' character and then also loved Daniel once we get to know him too (I mean, he is perfect, really). I found myself laughing out loud often at Ali's silly antics and thought processes. I mean, the thought process behind the goat and its powers of persuasion alone was super cute.
I did cry quite a bit toward the end but not in the heart-wrenching way that I did with Life's Too Short. This was emotional in a heart-warming way.
Recommend to all rom-com lovers!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advance copy of this ebook for review!
I'm a huge fan of this series and just like the other books I could not put this one down! Seriously, I started reading it before bed and rolled over to find that it was 1am and I was already half way through. Alexis and Daniel's story is so wonderfully done and felt so real, especially given the age gap (she is 10 years older) and the demands of her high powered family. Abby Jimenez has a knack for playful banter and her sense of humor is spot on. If you don't believe me do yourself a favor and follow her on TikTok (I promise you won't be disappointed). Each of her books are told in the same universe but can be read as standalones so you don't need to read her first 3 books before jumping into this one (though I highly recommend you read all of them!). 10/10 would recommend!
This book was so good, this is my first Abby Jimenez book and I would definitely read the other ones!
The story and character development are phenomenal, the chemistry between Daniel and Alexis was off the charts!
Some parts of the book really touched me and made me angry because reading about Alexis traumatic experience was really sad.
But I did enjoy the book and waiting for the upcoming books!
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me an ARC in exchange of my opinion.
At this point, I’ll read anything Abby Jimenez writes. Aside from the lovable dog and the baby goat in pajamas, this book is a delight. Staying in the happily ever after rom-com vein, it still does a fantastic job of covering the subject of abuse - both physical and emotional - a topic I wish more books discussed. A wonderful read for anyone looking for a happy ending.

I absolutely LOVED this book.
It was the first book I've read by Abby Jimenez and I'm so glad I was able to pick this up. This story between Alexis and Daniel, two people who come from very different worlds, but know the weight that comes from being a part of a legacy. The way these two come together is electric, palpable, and so utterly perfect that it is so hard to let them go when the story is finished. I just want to stay in their magical world and watch them live their lives, happy and content with each other.
I appreciate how Jimenez tackles the hard topic of abuse, and it's many forms, with respect, deference, and a keen understanding of its effects on someone's mental health. Alexis goes through a huge mental transformation as she recognizes that her former partner was emotionally abusing her and how she was primed for it because of how her father had treated her growing up and her mother enabling his behavior. A lot of this book was focused on Alexis' growth, not just in terms of her relationship with Daniel, but also just as a human.
This book will likely be a strong reread in the future, and I can't wait to dive into Jimenez's other books.
Oh man. Abby Jimenez does it yet AGAIN!
The banter! So many highlighted passages and laugh out loud quotes. Chemistry and sweetness are off the charts for Alexis and Daniel!
You should DEFINITELY read this one. Even better than Libby Hubscher’s new “If You Ask Me” for finding love after a toxic relationship, imho. I couldn't read this fast enough, yet I didn't want it to end. Daniel is the sweetest, and Alexis is trying to be as brave and as strong as she can be after being tormented by emotional abuse.
There's even a baby goat, some dog mayhem, and just the barest hint of magic. Best friend Bri is also a star (so excited for her book next!)
CW for intimate relationship abuse, but wow is the journey powerful, vulnerable, and thoughtful!
Thanks Forever, for the advanced read. It's a new favorite!
I really very much enjoyed this fun, witty, delightful story with just a hint of magical realism. Alexis, who comes from a family of extremely high powered, very intelligent and well spoken doctors, meets Daniel completely by chance at in a tiny town where he manages a bed and breakfast and works as a Carpenter and a goat nanny, funnily enough. Just like the rest of his family, he is devoted to this small town and he and Alexis have completely different backgrounds and can't really rationalize their attraction to one another and the fact that these lifestyles aren't compatible.
I think what I enjoyed most about this were the subtle nods to fairy tales, the fun descriptions of the action, and the animals. Just how fun and delightful it was. I really found myself. Getting lost in the story, I do find that the pacing was a little bit off, but I didn't think that was a huge deal breaker and definitely didn't stop me from very much enjoying it. I will probably revisit this one.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
A scoop of passionate connection, a cup of trauma recovery, a healthy helping of wit and hijinks, and just a dash of subtle magic.
Alexis Montgomery, a big-city high-powered doctor from a family of big-city high-powered doctors, meets Daniel Grant purely by chance when he tows her car out of a ditch near the tiny town of Wakan where he's the B&B manager, carpenter, baby goat nanny, and all-around good guy. He's also the mayor, just like every generation of Grants before him. Given their different backgrounds and dueling legacies, they know nothing can come of it, but the attraction is undeniable. Plus, the baby goat is wearing pajamas — no one can resist a baby goat in pajamas!
Abby Jimenez is a master of great couple chemistry and the connection between Alexis and Daniel is one of the best. Fairytale nods, Princess Bride quotes, and animal shenanigans are light and entertaining, but there's a serious core to this story: trauma, domestic abuse, sexism, classism. It's a challenge to pull off, and the pacing suffers just a little in the emotional second half of the book, but overall it's a fun, hopeful, heartfelt read with a strong woman who saves herself and a super swoony small-town guy.
Content notes: Sexual content, Bullying, Classism, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Pregnancy, Sexism, Toxic relationship, Cursing, Medical content, Physical abuse, and Toxic friendship, Alcohol, Violence, Blood
I have truly loved all of Abby Jimenez’s other books so I came into Part of Your World with high expectations. She did not let me down. Part of Your World is about Alexis and Daniel who are both left in control of their family legacies in two very different lifestyles. Alexis is a successful ER doctor (big Grey’s Anatomy vibes) and Daniel runs a B&B in a quaint rural town - yet they find they have more in common than they thought.
What I liked: Daniel is a very solid main character. I almost can’t describe how much his reliability and overall goodness just felt cozy and home-y. He truly carried the story with his warmth and integrity. As well, I thought Jimenez did a good job of discussing a few different kinds of abuse in relationships and validating her characters’ experiences.
What could be better: I thought the story was a little predictable, it was heading in a very clear direction from the beginning. I think the predictability is fine if you are looking for a comforting romance read. Additionally, I found it difficult to warm up to Alexis. She was a little harder to love than Daniel but I got there eventually.
I would give this book four out of five stars because it was a cozy romance story. I also laughed out loud a few times - Doug’s animal names were very well done. I think I’ve come to expect incredibly emotional stories from Jimenez that tend to make me sob and this was a much lighter story in comparison.

I read this in one sitting. I didn't want to put it down. Admittedly, this is my first Abby Jimemez book and I loved it. I'll have to read her other books pronto. This book is filled with magic, Disney vibes, and chemistry. I fell in love with the town and residents of Wakan. I felt their love pouring through the pages of this book.
Daniel and Alexis are from completely different worlds, yet are perfect for each other. Swoon.
Abby does include heavy topics such as emotional & physical abuse, narcissistic behavior, and toxic relationships. These are written in a way that showed compassion and understanding towards victims of abuse.
4.5⭐️
Every time I finish Abby Jimenez’s newest book, it becomes my new favorite, and Part of Your World is no exception. This was a very sexy and fun book, but also utterly endearing and charming. Alexis and Daniel truly come from two different worlds, and my heart was on a roller coaster with all the ups and downs, all of the challenges they face—but their love felt so real and so strong, that I never doubted that it would work. There were so many wonderful elements to this book that made it special—the Disney vibe, the Princess Bride references, and the bit of Wakan magic.
I absolutely loved Alexis and Daniel's story. It was nice to have the age difference, with the male love interest younger by a decade. I loved that Alexis helped bring medical care to a rural, under-served community. This book definitely had more meat on its bones than you typical romance.
This book was so classically Abby Jimenez, in the best way possible. An adorable meet-cute, animals sprinkled throughout, small town magic, with some deeper emotion along the way.
Daniel adored Alexis so much - my heart melted at his chapters every time. He was motivated and dedicated to making their relationship work, and he was all around the best type of male love interest (IMO). Overall the story was so relatable, funny, heart-wrenching, and of course gives you the perfect HEA.
My one teeny tiny qualm was that I found the story a bit long and repetitive. But overall, absolutely adored!
As my first Abby Jimenez book I can say I am a fan for life. I have already bought her others so I can devour them.
Ali and Daniel are everything. I love their sweet romance, that they are so different but still have the same values. I loved that Ali grew so much and learned her worth throughout the book and Daniel was just the most supportive man for her. He was there for what she needed and didn’t put himself abover her the whole time. I loved the little B&B and small town. I also got some Noah and Ali the notebook vibes as well. Just a fantastic small town, city girl/country boy, age gap romance. And you know we are all a sucker for a baby goat in pajamas.
Now Abby don’t think I didn’t miss all The Grey’s Anatomy reference Allison aka Addison Montgomery the doctor with a brother named Derek and there was even a joke about signing post-it notes. Maybe it wasn’t on purpose but I enjoyed all these little references!
What a wonderful rom-com with adorable characters! Alexis and Daniel come from completely different backgrounds. Alexis's family is rich and all are surgeons but Alexis is an ER doctor. Daniel is a carpenter and town mayor in a small town. They are opposites but they are awesome together! This book deals with real problems and they were handled beautifully. The sexy parts were a bit too hot for me but other than that this was a great read! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.
I was intrigued by this one since the heroine is an ER doc! Thank you @netgalley @ReadForeverPub @GrandCentralPublishing for this ARC. This is my first Abby Jimenez book and I really liked it! This one comes out on 4/19.
