Alexis Montgomery has spent her entire career trying to live up to the Montgomery name. She and her family are a part of a medical legacy that goes back generations, and despite being a successful ER doctor, it still isn't enough for her demanding father. If her father had his way, Alexis would be the chief of emergency medicine and married to her ex-boyfriend, who he keeps pressuring her to take back. Frustrated and unhappy, Alexis is desperate for a change, then she meets Daniel. The pair couldn't be more different-- Alexis comes from a wealthy family and doesn't even know how to sweep a floor, and Daniel is the unofficial mayor of a small town and nurses baby goats. Alexis is hesitant to start anything due to Daniel being almost a decade younger, but the chemistry is undeniable. Alexis can't deny that being with Daniel makes her happier than she's been in a while, but knows he doesn't fit into the plans her family has for her. But the longer they're together, the more impossible it becomes for Alexis to picture her life without Daniel, and finds herself having to decide what's truly important to her.

I'm not a big fan of the age gap trope, but dang, if Jimenez didn't charm me with this one. I liked Alexis and Daniel and was rooting for them from the moment they met. Jimenez always has top-tier love interests, and Daniel was no exception. He was adorable and so sweet. I loved how caring he was, not only towards Alexis but to every person in Wakan. I also liked how the town became a character itself and had so much personality. Despite loving the pair and their relationship, there were some bits I didn't enjoy. Mainly, Alexis's reluctance to be with Daniel due to their differences. It all got a bit tiresome after a while. For a grown woman, I thought she spent too much time worrying about what her family would think of her decisions even though they were having such negative effects on her mental health. However, it was so satisfying watching her finally choose her path. Aside from little nitpicky things, I thought this was great and can't wait for whatever Jimenez comes out with next.

I recently read The Happy Ever After Playlist and liked it, so I was excited to get this one and give it a try. I'm happy to say, I enjoyed this book even more than HEAP. I found the character development for both main characters and they challenges they faced were really well conceived and executed. I was all in on their journey to the HEA.

TW: The book dealt with some heavy topics (emotional, financial, physical abuse).

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC, in exchange for my honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this prior to its April release!

If I could rate this more than 5, I would. Abby Jimenez writes such amazing books, I would read what she wrote on a napkin at this point.

“Don’t let them decide the life you’re going to live. You only get one.”

“Grace costs you nothing.”

I cried like a baby at the end of this book, full on tears. Not sad tears, more of happy and “Omg is this really over?” tears. This book hit me differently because I could relate to Alexis in so many ways, as she was going through so many things I currently am and have been, so it truly hit home.

There are so many things going on in this book that are so important. It’s NOT just a love story. It’s about finding yourself, and your way in this crazy life and doing what YOU want to do. It’s all about change, which explains why the dragonflies were appearing very often….Dragonflies resemble change is coming.

“Nobody can save you until you’re ready to save yourself.”

Daniels adoration and determination regarding Alexis was beautiful. He had my heart swooning and I could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. It was a little frustrating with Alexis being so stand-offish because of their different worlds, but it made sense in the end when it was all tied together. It was also frustrating about the age gap being mentioned SO much but I totally understood it; been there before. But alas, age is just a number and love is love.

“How he completed the final piece in my mosaic.”

“I think my soul recognizes hers the second I laid eyes on her. Our bodies knew it the very first sight.”

“Love follows you. It goes where you go. It doesn’t know about social divides or distance of common sense. It doesn’t even stop when the person you love does. It does what it wants.”

And omg the town of Wakan? I wish I could be there! It was so precious and I loved how the community came together and treated one another like family.

“Because sometimes family isn’t what you’re born into. Sometimes family is found.”

Alexis had the MOST character development I have seen from a character in a long time. She came from this extravagant lifestyle, a totally different world than Daniel. And Daniel, he changed her perspective in so many ways and I loved seeing that change in her.

Also, Bri rocks! Can’t wait for her story next!

T/W: emotional & verbal abuse by a partner and parent, domestic violence, death of a child briefly mentioned

I finished Part of Your World last night after reading it in bits and pieces for weeks because I NEEDED to savor it. I woke up thinking, “I can’t believe it’s over. I won’t get to read another one for a YEAR. I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time again.” That’s how good it is.

Here’s why I loved it:
💙POYW is less emotional than her other books, but I think it’s her most relatable story yet. I cried less but felt more deeply seen.
💙The two main characters are perfection. Daniel is just a sweetheart and such a good person. He’s eager but not spineless - a fine line to walk. Alexis is a strong leading lady who learns to trust herself, to give herself grace, and to ignore everything that’s just “everything else”.
💙My New Years resolution is to give more grace (to myself and others). One of the key messages in POYW is “grace costs you nothing” and it’s like Abby KNEW I needed this reminder now that we’re well into 2022.
💙My only reason for taking off 1/2 star from her last book was the significant overuse of the snort: “he snorted”, “she snorted”, “I snorted”. Well Abby really cut back in POYW. There were multiple instances that felt like the type of scene where Old Abby would have used “snorted” but New Abby found other phrases to use. Do you think it’s because she read my review last year and took it to heart? Yeah I think so too.
💙Obviously the book is hilarious (hello have you even met Abby?!). But the funny scenes are even funnier because I can’t help but picture Abby writing them. I can just see her cackling over her keyboard, shoving crackers in her mouth, as she hammers out a laugh-out-loud-funny sequence of total chaos.

Y’all I have no complaints about this book other than it’s over. It’s available in the US on April 18. Don’t miss it!

Thanks to NetGalley, Forever, and Abby Jimenez for the gifted copy.

Book Review
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

“My vagina has officially
been closed for so long I’m afraid a Spirit Halloween is going to move in”

Telling it Like it is Jimenez is truly talented at writing humour - making her characters come alive on the page - they are filled with depth, personality, and always have a sense of humour.

Jimenez is adept at tackling heavy issues in such a way that the reader can empathize and connect with her protagonists’ problems without being overwhelmed by them. While the subjects may be emotionally heavy her humour provides a reprieve and lightens the mood making it an easy read.

This book particularly, is full of magic and fairy tale vibes. The Princess Bride references are rampant and so well placed. You will laugh out loud and find yourself smirking as you read the dialogue.

Daniel is Westley.
He is the perfect book boyfriend. Unfailing in his commitment to his community, friends, and family he is everything Alexis needs.

Alexis is Princess Jasmine.
She is from an affluent household where she does everything a dutiful daughter should. She is compassionate, kind, and struggling to be independent.

A fabulous fairytale romance
Sure to check all the boxes (including a happily ever after) and gives you all the feels. Its as if Jimenez heard my desire for a magical romance and proclaimed
“As You wish”

Alexis has had a very long day when she gets run off the road by a raccoon in the middle of nowhere. She's extremely lucky that a good samaritan helps her get out of the ditch, and even more lucky that he is VERY hot. It's very out of character fro Alexis to go home with him after a drink at the bar, but there's just something about this guy. A whirlwind romance has Alexis unsure how she's supposed to go back to how her life was before, and even more unsure that she was ever really happy with how things were going.

This book had me laughing out loud and my heart squeezing up with emotions. As a Minnesota native, I could so vividly picture myself in this magical town of Wakan. Daniel completely captured my heart and I loved seeing him come into himself and really recognize his worth throughout the story. Alexis was the same way, I really appreciated the way that Jimenez showed her recognizing her privilege without making her feel bad for the way that she was raised which was out of her control. Alexis was a powerhouse, and I loved her journey and the way that she ended up stepping into her power. There were so many incredible side characters as well, like Kevin Bacon and a baby goat in pajamas, you really can not go wrong!
TW for discussions of toxic relationships and physical and emotional abuse. I thought this was handled in a very caring manner and really showed compassion for victims of abuse, while showing why it's not simple to get out of those situations. A very thoughtful addition to this book for sure.

Abby Jimenez does it again, I absolutely loved this book! I wasn’t able to put it down once I started. The characters were amazing, and the plot was perfect. This book had me feeling all the emotions. I highly recommend checking it out!

What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I DEVOURED Part of Your World. Sat down to read it and couldn't stop until I was done. I was found myself laughing, crying, internally yelling at the characters, becoming so angry at others, and so many more. This is a must-read. Whether you're an Abby Jimenez fan or not. This was only my 2nd book from her and quickly rose to one of the favorites I've read so far in 2022.

While it's a love story, she covers much more than that including domestic violence, mental health, and more. While there is plenty of humor and steam, it tackles some tough topics too.

Read Part of Your World as soon as you can. It will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

Huge thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
5/5 stars

There was very little in this book that I didn't walk away enjoying or appreciating in some way. The feelings and the development of them were well done while taking into account the amount of growth something like opening up naturally creates. The two main characters grow forward and backward, and in the end, toward each other. They must fight disparities and differences between them and decide if love is worth overcoming everything you grew up knowing about yourself and the world. Abby has done it again, leaving me enamored and excited for the next installment in this real and romantic world she has weaved.

The only thing I found trouble with was how borderline cartoonish the "friends" of Alexis seemed when they showed who they were (discounting her amazing best friend Bre who is STELLAR and I cannot wait to see her story). I will continue to devour anything Abby Jimenez creates.

Abby Jimenez can do no wrong in my book. Every book she’s written, I’ve fallen in love with the story and the characters. Alexis and especially Daniel are no exception to that! She is also the queen of dropping Easter eggs from her previous books. It was fun hearing about previous characters.

Man, Abby didn’t disappoint for Alexis and Daniel’s story. I freaking adored Daniel. I loved his small town roots & getting to know his friends and little village. Alexis was so strong and I loved watching her find her strength to fight for what she wanted. The ending was perfection!

This is out April 19 and can be read as a total stand alone!

I think I might actually read a phone book if Abby Jimenez decided to write one!! I have loved every story this author has put together, but Part Of Your World might actually be my favorite so far. Ya know? She kind of has a point: why is it okay for men to date or marry women 10 or more years younger than them and we all cheer 'rah rah, hooray for you, HeMan' but, in the rare instances a women does the same thing with a younger man, we all assume there must be something in it for the guy for him to want to be with an older woman. There's got to be a catch, right? He can't possibly be a decade younger than her and not be only interested in her money. Right?? I love that Jimenez is taking such weighty topics as ageism, grief, chronic illness, the cost of fame, among others and handling them with a lighthearted touch while still honoring the weight said topics deserve. Again, I'd probably read her phone book. I am so grateful to the publisher and the author for granting my wish for early access to Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez.

I absolutely enjoyed this book! Alexis and Daniel are from completely different worlds - Alexis is from a wealthy line of doctors (she is an ER doctor) and Daniel grew up poor in a tiny town. When they meet, they shouldn’t be attracted to each other - aside from the different worlds thing, Alexis is nearly ten years older than him. But they find ways to be a part of each other’s world and I really loved watching them fall in love!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for the ARC!

My first Abby Jimenez book has been a success! What an absolutely love and heart warming read.

Part of Your World follows Alexis, an ER doctor and heir to a medical dynasty, and Daniel, a younger man who is the mayor and bed and breakfast owner in a small town (or village) kind of in the middle of no where. When the two meet after Alexis is in need of a tow truck, what starts as a one night stand quickly turns into something more, even if the two come from extremely different backgrounds.

I loved this book so much, especially for the wo main characters. They were real and raw and loveable. Especially Daniel who is now on my ever growing list of best book boyfriends. The relationship between the two was fun to read about as they, mostly Alexis, struggled with combing the relationship with "real life".

This book delves into some heavy topics like emotional and physical abuse with both romantic partners and family members. I thought those parts were dealt with so well and they meshed well with the main story line despite the tones being very different.

The chemistry between Alexis and Daniel is magical and you really get to fall in love with their love story.

This book has turned me into an Abby Jimenez fan and I'll have to go read her previous books soon.

I am a very recent Abby Jimenez fan in that I have read all of her books now within the past month and I’ve loved every single one of them!

****Spoilers Follow****

Part of Your World is no exception. We are introduced to Alexis, an emergency room doctor who is also the next link in a family legacy of doctor’s at the Royaume Hospital in Minneapolis, and Daniel, small town mayor and current link in his own small town family legacy in the town of Wakun, when Alexis drives into a ditch to avoid a raccoon on her way home from a funeral. Daniel pulls her car out of the ditch and that’s it. So we are led to believe. However, a couple of hours later, we meet our hero and heroine again at the VFW in Wakun and things immediately take off for the two from there.

However, this is a forbidden love that can never last. Alexis knows she is tied to her hospital because of her family. Her family will never accept Daniel as a part of her life. She’s ditched her emotionally abusive boyfriend of seven years, Neil, though her father refuses to accept it and demands she attend counseling and reconcile with Neil.

Daniel faces struggles of his own. The bed and breakfast he runs is owned by his troubled bio-mom who has decided to sell. Daniel needs to come up with money to buy the house from her or risk losing his livelyhood.

Meanwhile, Alexis and Daniel continue to meet up and hook up. All the while, Alexis insisting that they are not together and that this cannot last.

I loved seeing how these characters weaved in and out of each other’s lives, but I’ll admit that Alexis’s wishy-washy-ness drove me crazy, though her own understanding of why she felt so devoted to what her parents wanted does make that more clear in the end.

The mystical and magical elements of Wakun leant a fantasy vibe to the overall story and the fairy tale references were such a fun touch! The movie, The Princess Bride, is quoted throughout and as it is one of my all time favorite movies, I was so here for this!

Such a fun romance, with plenty of steamy moments! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

This book had one of my favorite tropes (opposites attract) and one of my least favorite tropes (age gap) so I wasn't sure how I would feel. But I loved this! The age gap felt natural and something that was easily overcome.

Alexis and Daniel were both delightful and well developed characters. They both had similar struggles with standing up for themselves, knowing their worth, and fighting for what makes me happy. I thought the author did a great job of exploring these struggles from two different points of view.

Despite being a happy romance novel, this book also dealt with much heavier topics like emotional abuse and familial expectations. These topics played an important role in character and plot development. My heart definitely broke for Alexis at times but in the end her growth and personal development was so inspiring.

The setting of this book was also wonderful. The differences between Alexis' city and country lives were so interesting. I ended up falling in love with the small town full of quirky, loving characters.

Overall this was such great romance book! It was cute and flirty but also had depth to the plot and characters. I can't wait to read more of this author's books!.

I loved this book so much. I was totally obsessed with this “forbidden love” relationship. It’s one of my favourite tropes and this one was really well done. I absolutely loved the characters and was rooting for them. Once again, Abby Jimenez proved why she’s one of my favourite author, phenomenal writing! I was totally engrossed from start to finish. Highly recommend pre-ordering this one!!

I am pretty sure my heart grew 3 sizes bigger while reading this! There is so much to love about this story of two lovers from different worlds.

The chemistry between Alexis and Daniel is undeniable--the kind that you can't help but goofy smile while taking it all in. The small town is Wakan is literally magical. And even with a swoon-worthy love story, author Abby Jimenez also delivers a layer exploring women navigating physical and emotional abuse in a way that you hope won't resonate with readers, but you know it will.

And to top it off, the sheer amount of times I laughed out loud at this book deserves 5 stars alone. I straight up cackled while reading and found myself chuckling way after I put it down.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the advanced copy and the opportunity to share my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own--but take my word for it, you want to read this one!

Abby Jimenez has outdone herself with this new book! Part of Your World is a fairy tale for modern times, and it delivers on a big scale.

There is just enough magic and Disney references for the Easter egg hunters, but not so much it becomes cliche, or cringey. One thing I always talk about with Abby Jimenez books is how funny they are, and this one is no exception. In fact, Part of Your World had me laughing (out loud) so hard, I'm glad I wasn't reading it in public! There are some tough themes in this story, but they are handled with care and accuracy, and I think they were important to show character growth. This book had me laughing, crying, sighing, and gasping, all in one sitting. The characters are so complex, and I really appreciated the fact that the MC was over 35, too. You don't get to read many mainstream romance novels with an older woman as the love interest.

If you're yearning for romance with a big heart, and even bigger laughs, look no further than Abby Jimenez. There's nobody in the game right now doing it better. 5 big beautiful stars. Part of Your World is available on 4/19/22. Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for the chance to review this advance copy.

After reading one of Abby Jimenez's book, I was immediately hooked on how easy of a read it was and knew immediately I needed to read more. This happened to be an ARC and the 2nd book I have read of this author. Again, it was easy to read and I was absorbed after the first page. Part of Your World tells a story of love at first sight with people of two completely different worlds - opposite worlds. Through all the differences, they struggle imagine their lives together as one.

Well…. Here’s another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for you! ⁣

I felt like I was just giving too many of these out recently, but then I realized that there are just SO MANY wonderful romance authors and so many incredible romance novels coming out this year that they have just been giving me all the warm and fuzzies while I recover from surgery that I’m just blissed out in my feels, getting lost in these incredible stories that are just playing out like movies in my head, I’m devouring them and they’re bringing me so much peace that they damn well deserve 5 friggin stars. ⁣

Every. Last. One. Of. Them.⁣

And Part of Your World is one of them.⁣

I have loved every single one of Abby’s books, and I swear I love each one more and more and they’re still always five stars for me.⁣

This might be my new favorite! Alexis is an ER doctor from a family of prestigious surgeons, who feels stuck in a rut in her life and has the weight of the world and her family legacy on her shoulders. ⁣

When she gets stuck in a ditch in a small town several hours south from her, Daniel; the sweetest, most handsome, rugged, handy man of the town rescues her from the ditch and charms her instantly. These two come from completely different worlds and are so opposite, but are so perfect for each other. Watching their relationship blossom, while Alexis took on the world and Daniel tried to take care of his small town was so heartwarming. ⁣

The emotional and mental abuse Alexis endured from her ex and her parents crushed my heart; but Daniel has this gentle way of putting her back together without even knowing it. They are both truly beautiful humans. ⁣

There is also an adorable deaf hunting dog Hunter; a pig that gets into loads of trouble; and an adorable baby goat in PAJAMAS! 😍⁣

Needless to say; I loved this book so much. I cannot wait for Bri’s story! ⁣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣
