This was so.. good!

I loved loved the two main characters and the love story that developed.

What I really loved was that the Main character was in her 30s with a career. It was so realistically good

Sooo broken down on the side of the road is one of my all time favorite tropes. And let me tell you Jimenez delivered!

We follow the lives of Alexis (37), a doctor and Daniel (28), a small town mayor/groundskeeper/all around renaissance man. Two people from very different backgrounds. It was hard to believe the author could really make it sound believable, but I truly felt their soul bonding love through the pages.

I love that Alexis is older then Daniel and not a 20 something year old. Let’s hear it for the ladies in their 30s! Heaven knows we need more age variation in our contemporary romance novels. I won’t go into detail about the plot since the description is right above. What I do believe won me over with this read was how real we got.

I appreciate Jimenez’s ability to tie something like abuse into a fictional tale and make a reader feel like they can overcome their own trauma.
I have personally dealt with being emotionally abused, and thankfully was not triggered by it in this book. I was honestly relieved to see someone write about it. Even if it’s in a fictional tale, someone is talking about it and sometimes that’s enough to spark an awareness.

I want to shake Alexis and scream, “I know how to fix this!!” Because it was evident what she needed to do from the start. I’m sure I won’t be the only one to think this. Even so, I think the main goal was the journey we took with Alexis and not rushing through to get to the end result.

It didn’t make me cry, which I’m grateful for and they had a few steamy scenes. I’d say it was a fantastic read especially if you’re looking for mild spice and a happily ever after.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to reads this.

So I was able to read the first portion and now got to finish

I got a chance to read the first four chapters of this book. All the makings of a great intro. Meet cute and heartache in need of healing. Best friend encouraging her along and damsel in distress. First four chapters reel you in. It doesn’t make you roll your eyes with the cliché feel of the damsel rescued and initially not falling all over the guy. You are eager to finish this story to see where this journey goes even if it’s ending predictably.

Now that I got to finish. I am still pleased with this book. I am so glad I got the opportunity to complete.

I LOVED this book. I am never disappointed in Abby Jimenez and each book keeps getting better. I also love all of the MN references since I am from MN as well. The writing of romance can be hard but Abby makes it easy, she makes you feel the emotions of each character.

Thank you for an advance copy in exchange for a review.

Abby Jimenez has outdone herself on Part of Your World! I've been a fan from the beginning of her journey as a writer, and I think this is her best yet. Alexis is a big city ER doctor who has been struggling to deal with familial expectations. Daniel, nearly 10 years her junior, is a small town mayor that runs a bed and breakfast while dealing with his own family drama. Their worlds collide, but in the very best way for the reader. Witty dialogue and drama drive this story home. Jimenez manages to deal with tough issues like mental/emotional abuse in such a real way while showing the reader that there can be a "happy ever after.," at least in books.

I love Abby Jimenez and I loved this book! I discovered Abby Jimenez when she was a guest virtual speaker at Digipalooza (the Overdrive conference) last summer. I then read all of her books and loved them. She adds meat to her romance salad in each one, even though the happily ever after element is still there. Alexis and Daniel meet when her car swerves into a ditch in his small town. They fall for each other right away even though they come from two very different worlds. Jimenez is able to weave the evils of both psychological and physical abuse into this story very effectively. Alexis has been psychologically worn down by both her parents and ex-boyfriend until she is incapable of making her own rational decisions. There are a great many bumps in this relationship until they both feel it is doomed. Alexis finally decides that bowing to the abusers is not worth losing the good parts of her own life. This is a sweet but nail biting at times story that the reader can enjoy while rooting for a happy ending. I liked the reference to former characters from the author's other books, although all of her books can completely stand alone.

Wow! Simply wow! She does it again and I have to admit, it is even better than her previous book. This is the first book I read in 2022 and can't be more happier with my choice. It was not one bit surprising that I finished in one sitting and yes, it is truly that good. Alexis, a rich doctor from a family of renowned surgeons meets our Daniel, Mayor/artistic carpenter of a small town amidst some chaos that includes a pig, a baby goat in pajamas and a grilled cheese sandwich. And that's it, they have clearly fallen for each other badly but their worlds cannot be more different. Their worlds being different was tackled well as their problems kept coming in front of Alexis almost every day and I liked that the author did not treat such huge issue like absolutely nothing at all, which is how is is managed in many books. But will their love make each other part of their world??? I loved all the people in this town and how Alexis joins the town folks as one of them right away.

It is an absolutely heartwarming and delightful read!

I think this might be my new favorite book from this author, which is saying something since they are all fantastic. As always, Jimenez had me laughing and crying in equal measure and swooning over the piping hot chemistry between Alexis and Daniel. If another author had written this book, I might have been very angry at Alexis for the way she treated Daniel (and don't get me wrong, my heart broke for him at times) but the stakes were so believable, it was very easy to understand her motivations, and this is just one example of the author's skill at writing real, complex characters. Abby Jimenez's writing is just so READABLE. Like smooth butter or liquid chocolate. Loved the magical elements SO much. Can't wait for Bri's story next year.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my complimentary ARC. All opinions are my own.

I have a complicated relationship with Jimenez's books. I have loved one and really disliked the others. This was a firm 3 star read. Jimenez's voice is always incredibly readable and I typically devour the book within a day or two. This story was no exception. Jimenez toned down the torture porn she puts her characters through. This was a take on a small town romance and had a tiny bit of magic to it that I really enjoyed. I was also invested in the secondary characters. I do not love a rich/poor class structure as a conflict but thought Jimenez did a decent job with it.

Part of Your World is the fourth book I've read by Abby Jimenez, one of my favorite romantic comedy authors. This book continues to draw out the laughter while handling heavy topics with grace and aptitude. Jimenez is masterful at making you swoon, sob, laugh, and fan yourself. This book introduces two new characters who are only very tangentially connected to the previous books, though there are obvious touches and callbacks to previous books. As the title suggests, the main characters are from two drastically different worlds. She's a high society, wealthy doctor with too many expectations from her toxic family. He's from a small town, blue collar worker who runs a bed and breakfast but is a jack of all trades for the people around him.

This is a romantic comedy, so of course they have sexy chemistry right off the bat and go through hurdles before they finally get their well deserved happily ever after. I enjoyed the book, and while it was the most predictable of the four books so far, that didn't take anything away from it. This needs to be on your list to read for the quiet days where you have time to throw yourself into this sexy romance that'll have you covering your mouth to hide your laughter.

i loved this so much what the heck??? well worth a preorder.

abby jimenez has become one of my favorite authors over the last 18 months and this book proved why. alexis montgomery is a doctor, fulfilling a 125 year legacy of her family working in the same big city hospital. when she needs a tow truck and runs into daniel grant in the tiny town she gets stuck in, everything changes. he has a baby goat and runs a bed and breakfast and nothing about his life is similar to hers. and yet... she can't stop thinking about him. this was warm and fun and inspirational and i loved it.

5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
romance, women's fiction
PG-13 steam - some detail of sexual activities, but mostly fade-to-black

PART OF YOUR WORLD is the first book I've ready by Abby Jimenez, but it will not be the last! I absolutely loved this novel, & to prove it I'll tell you: I read it under 24 hours. I could not put it down because I had to know how Alexis & Daniel found their way to each other & made it work! I was about 85% done with the book and it felt like it was the make-it-or-break-it moment - so obviously, because it seemed like there was too much book left for a clean resolution, I had to finish it immediately!

And I am absolutely glad I did!

Things I Loved:
- Alexis's age! So often in romance you run into main characters that are so young that you can't relate or you can't accept that their love story is going to work out. The fact that Ali was 37 really spoke to me.
- With that said, I loved the age difference & that Daniel literally gave zero f**** about it.
- The idea of found family. Alexis felt so out of place in her "home" & with her "family" that you could feel her come into herself when she traveled to Wakan.
- The emphasis on therapy & the benefits - Mental Health is so important! And I love seeing it take a spotlight in books today, and especially romance novels.

Things I Didn't Like:
- The partially closed door romance! Jimenez spends so much time building up the sexual tension to just fade-to-black the night away? Come on!
- The jumping around in time. I find it unsettling in a novel to have to try to remember where I am or how much time has passed. I didn't love the "And then four months later, after this - this - & this happened, here we are." Why couldn't we pass time more slowly & show some of those things happening? Skips like this almost give me NEW MOON vibes where Meyer just did month chapter titles with no other words.
- I wish we'd seen more of Derek (who, because he's a surgeon & a Montgomery, just made me picture Derek Shepard from Grey's - & so OBVIOUSLY he was going to marry a superstar).

In short, READ THIS BOOK.
Excuse me now while I go read all of Abby Jimenez's backlist.

I don’t know what’s happening to me this year but I feel like the universe is messing with me: how is it authors are writing to me personally- is it just me? My whole life these last 2 years has been me seeking my home and my purpose (Life’s too short by Abby Jimenez and People you meet on vacation by Emily Henry both annihilated me emotionally earlier this year); when Abby first posted the description to this book, I knew I would be devastated reading it. I’m grateful to say that I don’t feel devastated but inspired - it encourages me to know that it’s not too late for me to find my own Daniel (I’m a 34 year old medical professional devoted to my career in a hospital setting). I’ve also suffered from people pleasing because of emotional manipulation as a child and am working to seperate myself from the trauma of that. It’s wonderful to feel represented in a romance heroine and to feel like all is not lost: I am loveable even though I don’t embody the ideal female main character. Thank you Abby!

I was such a bundle of feelings after finishing this book that I stupidly didn’t write my review and now, two months after reading it, all I can think of GAH I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I’m going to reread it closer to the publication date (which I rarely do, but I really did love it that much) and write a proper, coherent review. For now I’ll say I’m awed by Jimenez’s talent - her ability to draw the reader in, tug at the heartstrings, and make you laugh and cry (sometimes simultaneously). I wasn’t sure if she could top Life’s Too Short, but this book might just have done that.

I love this author’s writing style — funny dialogue, rich characters, multiple POVs, interesting situations — but she falters once the main characters fall in love. They lose their personalities and become codependent on one another, which is at odds with the fierce independence they both exude early on.

That said, I appreciated how this book expands on the world-building of her earlier novels and adds elements of magical realism (and yes, Disney. I’m a sucker for the tragic real-world fairytale).

Thank you, NetGalley, for selecting me to read an advance copy!

Abby Jimenez is a go-to author. Her books, including this newest one, are often read in just one sitting.

Daniel Grant and Alexis Montgomery couldn’t be more different. A doctor coming from a prominent family in the city, Alexis meets Daniel when she’s driving through his town and can’t seem to stay away. Daniel is a carpenter, mayor of his tiny town, and smitten with Alexis. Can they figure out how to make it work even when the odds are stacked against them??

Highly recommend this fun read for fans of Emily Henry and Beth O’Leary.

Alexis Montgomery, 37 and a doctor at a hospital 2 hours away, lands in the town of Wakan one evening after car trouble. She meets Daniel Grant, 28 and mayor of the town, and ends up in bed with him that night. A connection is instantly formed, and Alexis keeps coming back for more of Daniel and the town. At the same time, her ex won't leave their shared house, her parents won't let her leave her ex, and Alexis can't leave the hospital which is her family's legacy. Daniel is not the man Alexis (or anyone in Alexis's circle) has envisioned for herself. He's tattooed, rugged, and well, not rich. But he's everything Alexis wants and needs in her life. Will she choose what her heart is telling her by staying with Daniel, or will she choose what her head and everyone else is saying by living out the life set out for her?

Enjoyed this romance that can be devoured in a single setting. There are some triggering scenes (physical and emotional abuse) within this book, so BOLO. But, overall, an enjoyable romance.

This probably would have been much harder for me to read a year ago. I left my abusive now ex-husband almost two years ago after 15 years together. Neil behaves eerily similarly to my ex. Abby did a wonderful job handling this subject, but it's definitely going to stir up memories if you've been in an abusive relationship. Abby always makes me feel a range of emotions throughout her books, this one more so because of my experiences. Alexis experienced the same type of abuse as I did. A few times while reading I stopped and just cried. I always feel Abby's books very deeply, she's just great at what she does. Abby writes the kind of book where you feel like you are inside the story. Fantastic writing as usual.
