This was a cute little cliche of a book. I loved the little snippets that hinted back at Jimenez's other books. I love a good small town romance, and she really hit the nail on the head with this one. It gave me "Hometown Cha Cha Cha" vibes with the small town that helps each other and looks out for their own.

This is easily my favorite of Abby Jimenez's novels. I was hooked from page one and fell easily in love with both Alexis and Daniel. Their love story was written beautifully and I enjoyed watching Alexis's growth, both in her personal and professional life. I think Jimenez did a tremendous job addressing abuse both physical and emotional, and why its so difficult to break out of that cycle. It was truly a phenomenal book from beginning to end.

I received a copy this book complimentary for review from NetGalley and the publishers. I was extremely excited to read this novel as I have loved all of Abby Jimenez's previous novels. "Part of Your World" is no exception. One of my favorite aspects of this novel was the vivid imagery of the town where the male protagonist lives. Jimenez's writing made me want to get into my car and drive to a small remote town in Minnesota. The plot of this novel focused on the pressues between people doing what others/the world expect them to do and what their hearts tell them to do, which is extremely relatable as we as humans are constantly faced with this issue. Both main characters, the male and female protagonists were also likable and people who though fictional I cared about. This book is for you if you like well-written chick-lit, a quick easier read, and or have enjoyed other of Jimenez's books.

This is my least favorite Abby Jiminez. You obviously expect steam in her books with some depth, but this book somehow lacks in both departments.

Alexis is a 37 year old super successful doctor who falls in love with Daniel, a 28 year old small town carpenter. You know why I’m mentioning their ages? Because their age difference will be referenced to at least once in every 30 pages, and I’m not kidding. Also, the difference in their lifestyles and classes. I didn’t expect to read about these issues in 2021, when they certainly are not that big of a deal. All the talk about carrying the family legacy was boring, and the steam is also nothing special. Things like therapy and domestic and emotional abuse are referenced to, but I wish they were explored more in depth. Some of the lines seemed just out of those Instagram posts that you see floating around with quotes.

All in all, nothing special.

first things first... check the trigger warnings/content warnings. The biggest one is for sure the emotional abuse.

I adored this book. I loved the concept of the town having this bit of magic where it "gets what it needs." The town knows what it wants and it for sure wants Alexis and Daniel together.

Wakan (the town) has an amazing and super fun cast of side characters and I loved getting to spend so much time there. I loved watching Alexis not just fall in love with Daniel but also with the town and everyone (well... maybe except one person) in it.

Daniel is a puppy dog sweetheart (is that even a thing? I'm not even a dog person so I don't know if this actually makes sense at all...). He's just so cute and earnest. He's nice to a fault. Like, I just adore him.

Alexis definitely has a lot of hurdles to overcome. She doesn't see a path to happy and I really felt like I was right by her side as she struggled with what she deserved and what she's been told her whole life she should be doing.

I loved this book so much. I wanna say this is my favorite Abby book but I'm not sure if that's too big a claim to make.

At this point, I’ll read anything that Abby Jimenez writes including her grocery list. It isn’t often that you pick up a book that captures romance and comedy while addressing heavy subjects such as domestic abuse. Abby does just that in Part of Your World, and has set the bar even higher for herself.

This is an other-side-of-the-tracks romance that brings together two people from completely difference worlds, who find comfort and solace in each other. The story follows Daniel, 28 year old small town carpenter/inn-keeper and Alexis, 37 year old ER doctor at a pretentious hospital. I loved experiencing Daniel and Alexis’ story unfold in all its messy, beautiful, and heartwarming glory.

Be sure to keep this book on your radar and preorder it if it sounds like something you would enjoy - out in April 2022! Thank you so much Netgalley and Forever Pub for the advanced copy.

I absolutely love Abby Jimenez’s books and was overjoyed to receive an ARC of Part of Your World. This one did not disappoint. We are introduced to Daniel, a small town guy who does it all and Alexis a doctor from a prestigious family. Of course, part of the premise is that they shouldn’t be together because they come from different worlds, however, this book is so much more. I love how Alexis is older than Daniel and he doesn’t care. I love all the animals and all of their hilarious names. This book is full of laughter, tears, love and strength. I couldn’t recommend it any more.

Okay, THIS IS THE ABBY I LOVE!! Unfortunately, I did not like her last book (loved her first two), and man I just loved Alexis and Daniel, their relationship, and their friends. Felt like it could have been 50ish pages shorter, and sometimes I felt the one sentence as it's own paragraph back to back to back was a bit eye rolly, but I really liked this story and the real world challenges Alexis and Daniel faced.

In this book you meet Alexis and Daniel... they are very different and live very different lives as Alexis is a very well-off doctor and Daniel has many jobs but lives in a small town no one had ever heard of. Two very opposite people and they instantly attract one another. Throughout the book you can see and feel the struggle Alexis and Daniel have. There is magic in that small town, you can see it, feel it and it wants Alexis to be a part of its world.

Abby has done it again! I loved every page of this book, yes even the part where I cried, why because you emotionally invest in the characters because the writing is that good. You feel like you are a part of the characters' lives, you go through the emotions with them and each pages leaves you wanting more.

I LOVED this book. Abby Jimenez always writes nuanced romances, but this one felt so believable as two very different people tried to figure out if their disparate lives could work together.

Trigger Warnings: emotional abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, on page physical abuse of a side character

4.5 stars (I don't know if I can half stars on the rating)

I had the absolute pleasure of reading an early advanced readers copy of Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. Thank you so incredibly much to Ms. Jimenez, her publishing company, Read Forever Publishing, and of course Netgalley.

Alexis is a city girl headed back to Minneapolis, Minnesota, when she has car trouble in a deserted area of a highway after she has just spent time with her family at a family member's wake and funeral. Daniel is a carpenter/property manager in a magical little town called Wakan. Daniel saves Alexis &. then is shocked when Alexis walks into the only open establishment in town later on that night. One thing leads to another, and Alexis stays until the early morning. Alexis rushes back to her job at her family's world renowned hospital to continue with her life as an ER doctor, much to the chagrin of her overbearing father. She is licking her wounds after ending a long, but not good, relationship with one of the head's of the hospital. She is learning just how badly he treated her, so when Daniel sneaks back into her life, she only sees how they're not compatible with each other- age (she's 10 years older), location, city girl, country boy. The list could go on. Until one day, she realizes just what she wants. Daniel. But is it too late?

Jimenez has done it again. Her stories grip me from the beginning. Alexis is a lovable character who has not had it easy. Daniel is a wise above his age character who just wants to show Alexis that she can be who SHE wants to be, no matter what anyone else says, or wants. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I was sold at the Golden Girls mention. Add into it the mentions of the dragonflies and what they mean, and to me, there could be nothing better. I loved the whimsy of the town of Wakan. It had magic seeping from its pores. The brief cameos of the characters from Friend Zone, Happily Ever After Playlist, and Life's Too Short were frosting on the cake. Even the mention of Jimenez's own bakery, Nadia's Cupcakes, added such a personal touch to this story. I absolutely adore how Jimenez tackles tough subjects, but she does it with such grace, respect, and levity. She has a knack for getting to the root of the problem. This will be such a perfect spring/summer read for the season of '22.

Part of Your World is a rare blend of funny and serious, as only Abby Jimenez can do. In this novel she tackles the serious topic of domestic abuse. Dr. Alexis Montgomery is slowly clawing her way out of an abusive relationship that only she, and her best friend, Bri, actually acknowledge. Everyone else is slow to believe her. Enter Daniel, a nice guy who believes in kindness, grace, and good manners. While neither of them believe in one night stands, the universe, and the town of Wakan, have other ideas. Alexis knows this relationship is doomed...there's the fact he's 9 years her junior, he's a simple carpenter and she's from a renowned medical family, he's living day to day and she's leave Louboutains behind in ... the dirt. And yet, Alexis can't seem to distance herself from this man.

I love how the town of Wakan is a significant supporting character in this book. It's whimsical, and magical, and has a mind of its own. Wakan sets terms and conditions and woe to those who don't heed her plans.

While the stakes are high for Alexis and Daniel, and the differences seem insurmountable, Jimenez manages to give us a believable, high-stakes romance that feels real and recognizable. It handles the tough topic of domestic abuse with care and consideration, while gently educating the reader on how to help. I loved everything about this story.

“It was amazing that one season of someone could paint over a lifetime.”

I was so grateful to be approved to read an early copy of Part of Your World several weeks ago. I fully intended to start reading it immediately, but then I realized that if I did, I’d have no more new Abby Jimenez books to look forward to again for who knows how long. I #bookedged this one hard until I couldn’t take it anymore and then proceeded to read it in two sittings. If you haven’t read any of Abby’s other books, you should go and do that now and then pre order this one right away.

This is a strangers to lovers, small town romance with excellent banter, a very sweet hero, a memorable meet cute, and A++ sexual chemistry. The town itself is a little bit magic and plays a special role in Alexis & Daniel ending up together. The story does deal with domestic and parental abuse, both emotional and physical, so please handle with care.

Alexis is an emergency doctor in a family of surgeons. A member of her family has practiced medicine at Royaume Northwestern Hospital since the day it was built in 1897. It’s a legacy that her family is famous for and not something she can get out of even when she sometimes wishes she could. Daniel (my new book boyfriend for life) is an integral part of the close-knit community that makes up the population of Wakan. He manages a B&B, volunteers wherever he is needed, takes care of his elderly neighbor, and is even the honorary mayor. Except it’s really more than an honorary position since a member of his family has been the mayor of Wakan for the past 125 years. The only thing their lives have in common is the way they feel about each other and for much of the book, I just had no idea how they were going to figure out how to be together without one of them having to make major sacrifices. I was so impressed with the way it all came together and I could not have imagined a more fitting ending. I saw this one described as a modern day fairy tale and I have to agree with that assessment.

Part of Your World comes out in April. I’ve added it to my list of all time favorites and hope everyone reads it! Thanks SO SO MUCH to Forever for the opportunity to read and review and early copy!

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING.

It’s super cute and funny, BUT it also tackles some major topics. Some topics are abuse (spouse and parental) and suicide.

So I truly don’t know how a book can have those heavy topics while also making me laugh out. A city girl falls in love with a small town boy? YES PLEASE. I loved that the female MC was a doctor, and WANTED to work. And the male MC wanted to cook/clean/stay home. That was pretty cool! It also had a kid goat in pajamas, which is hilarious.

I’d best describe this book as It Ends With Is and The Simple Alone having a baby. It is SO GOOD.

Guys, drop what you’re doing and add this book to your TBR and preorder it! It comes out April 19!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was just pure magic. I always expect Abby Jimenez’s books to have a choke hold over me, and this definitely didn’t change the pattern.

Abby Jimenez has such a gift of writing books that captures both romance and comedy while tackling ugly topics. These stories transcend a typical rom-com and throw you into a world where you navigate life and love with all the realistic messiness that comes alongside it. Your heart aches for these characters as if they’re truly real. Abby Jimenez has been an auto-buy author for me since her first release of The Friend Zone and I’ve had the honor of arc reading all of her other books so far. And this book was just truly so special. It holds a very special place in my heart and I know I’ll be thinking about this book for a very long time before I inevitably reread it again before it officially is published. To be honest I kinda just wanna immediately start a reread... lol.

I always love Abby’s characters that she writes, but there was just something so undeniably extra special about Daniel and Alexis. They’re a couple that just bring out the best in each other with no effort. They truly belong together and you can just feel the absolute truth that they were made to love each other. Their romance is such a unique and special one. They’re such wonderful characters on their own. But put them together and they are pure magic.

Just like her other books, Abby Jimenez manages to have complete control over my emotions. I laughed, giggled, swooned, and definitely cried. I’m such an empath and this book brought out that side more than most books do. I found myself with this energy to want to fight for these characters and then was unbelievably sad when I came out of my brain for a second to realize it was fiction. This book is absolutely incredible, wonderful, amazing, all the other adjectives. I will always recommend Abby Jimenez and her books, but especially this one.

*A huge thank you to Abby Jimenez and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.*

It’s no secret that Abby Jimenez writes some of my favorite Romance books….

Although I only read a few a year, you can BET that one of them will always be whatever Abby has published! I am always so excited when I see that she has a new book available to request.

Sure, this genre has a formula that leads to happily ever after-but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to write.

In romance you MUST like the characters, you MUST enjoy their dialogue, and you MUST feel the chemistry!! 🔥

In addition, you absolutely MUST feel the angst! Theirs and yours-as you become worried that one of the leads will let the other get away, causing you to scream at that character to “go get your person”!

NOW!!

All the boxes are checked here!

And, once again, Abby Jimenez adds an “extra layer” to her stories by weaving another important topic into a sub-plot-this time, “domestic violence-both verbal and physical “, providing resources after the epilogue.

This story introduces us Alexis Montgomery, who has been tapped to carry on her family legacy of world-renowned surgeons. (Think Meredith Grey of Grey’s Anatomy) She and her brother, Derek, have been groomed since childhood to be the next generation to lead their prestigious hospital into the next century and then Derek bails out.

Not their first choice, but nonetheless, now their only choice, her parents want Alexis to marry the right man-Neil-the head of surgery-have the right friends-the horrible Jessica and Gabby, and fulfill her destiny-Despite the fact that she has she realized that she doesn’t want any of these things.

Late one night, she is driving home from an out of town funeral, and she has to swerve to avoid a raccoon, her car ending up in a ditch. Daniel Grant offers to tow her out, and after, at a nearby bar which is the only place in town which is open, and has available food and bathrooms, she runs into him again and decides to help him win a bet against his friends as a way to “thank him” for his assistance.

Despite the fact that their lives are as different as night and day, their sizzling chemistry is undeniable, and will make Alexis question if money does buy happiness and if if she has the courage to live life on her own terms.

As she tries to reconcile how she feels, we hear from both Alexis and Daniel, in alternating chapters, and I enjoyed hearing from them both equally.

Thankfully, Alexis has one true friend in her corner, Bri, and we should ALL have a friend like her-a friend who will tell you what you NEED to hear, and CHEER YOU ON, as you go for what will make you happy!

If you have enjoyed this author’s past work-you will enjoy this book too!
AVAILABLE April 19, 2022!

One last thing—I was excited to learn that in 2023, it will be Bri’s turn in the spotlight and it will be her chance to find happiness! ❤️ My calendar is already marked!!

Thank You to Forever for my gifted copy! It was my pleasure to offer a candid review!

Just me pretending not to cry as I read this while we are watching football on Sunday. I’m fine, I’m fine. 🤣😭

What’s expected of us? What do we want? When do we say enough is enough and follow our heart?

I’ll admit first that it did take me a lil bit to get into. I was kinda just avg with it until about 30%. I actually put it down for a few days. But I think it was because I wasn’t committing. I was reading a few here and a few there during a busy work week. But then I sat down w a full mind and got totally invested.

The chemistry way organic. The characters felt so real. I feel like I know them. I’m not a powerhouse surgeon or a keeper of an inn but in some strange way I found myself relating to these people.

You’ll get butterflies and laugh with this read. All the feels, honestly.

Some random notes:
Squirrel 🐿 🤣
Hunter 🐶❤️
Googled the Hyoid bone 🦴🤓

It comes out 4/19/22. Tysm @readfor for the arc. 🥰

This book is fantastic! Abby has done it again and published a wonderfully written book that sucks you into another Friend Zone world. This book can be read as a stand alone, but has several references to the rest of The Friend Zone world to tie everything together. Each of Abby's books has a real approach to deal with hard issues people face, and I love seeing her characters handle the issues impacting them without being sugar coated over. I wish this was a real town to vacation at! Such a magical book that I read it in one day. Then I reread her first three and read this one again! It's a great book, I highly recommend it!

Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC copy of this book in exchange of my honest review! 🥰

Abby Jimenez is a magician, able to write the most heart shattering a beautiful, romance novels: Part of Your World has insta love, a thoughtful view of family & intimate partner emotional abuse, and the most lovable characters. This was one of my most anticipated book releases for 2022 and IM SO EXCITED FOR ITS RELEASE!

Rating: 10/5 stars! I swear to god A.J. could write anything, and I’d be devastatingly obsessed! Daniel & Alexis we’re a couple I swooned over instantly. They’d romance was written so well that I just smiled the entire time reading this! Alexis’s recovery over emotional abuse by her past relationship, as well as recognizing the “conditioning” she received from her father was written beautifully. It had a (I thought) predictable HEA, but that didn’t nullify all the good vibes I had in this book! Alexis balancing her life expectations and own wants and needs is something everyone battles, and the character growth, and power in her voice she develops genuinely had my crying in her final speech. I could go on about how much I loved this book, but just go read it yourself!!

Tip: Read the Friend Zone series prior to picking this up, because one of the characters from The Happy Ever After Playlist makes an ‘appearance’ in this book and it’s fun knowing a bit of their storyline beforehand!!
