Abby Jimenez’s fourth novel, “Part of Your World” was a delightful and thoughtful romance that I wanted to savor but ended up devouring in just a couple of sittings. As with Jimenez’s prior novels, and what I feel like has become part of her successful formula, “Part of Your World” included witty banter, likeable characters, a dual narration – each chapter’s point of view flipping between our female and male protagonist, strong well developed supporting characters, a troublemaking dog, just the right amount of steam, and serious subject matter being addressed in a relatable fashion. This romance touched on suffocating familial expectations, abuse – both verbal and physical, wealth disparities within relationships, and mental health. Jimenez’s ability to seamlessly weave such heavy topics into her love stories is masterful. She made me laugh out loud, she made me cry, and she made me fall in love with yet another one of her books. 4.5 stars – huge thank you to NetGalley fo r the opportunity to review and advance copy.

As a general rule, I never start an Abby Jimenez book after 9 pm because I *know* that I'll be reading it in one sitting. This book was no exception to that rule.

Abby Jimenez was able to craft a lovely romance - full of humor, small town vibes, and characters that will warm your heart. But she also talks about abuse in relationships and the multiple forms it can take. As a woman who's experienced a long-term relationship with an emotional and verbal abuser, it rang so true. The things that insecure men will do to control you are heinous - ranging from isolating you from your friends to breaking down your self esteem - and they're represented in this book with such care. This book has such nuance in it, from the light magic of the town of Wakan to the small revenges Bri takes on Neil, it's truly lovely and I can't recommend it more.

Abby Jimenez makes me feel all the things! She has an uncanny ability to create characters you can’t help but love and write scenes that make you feel everything the characters are from the highest highs to the lowest lows. Abby has mastered the art of creating earnest love stories with whimsical comedic relief (a squirrel at breakfast?) and will always be an auto-read author for me. Will be recommending this to my fellow romance readers for sure!

Alexis is passing through the small town of Wakan when she meets Daniel. After ending a seven-year relationship, the last thing she is looking for is to jump into another relationship. There is something about Daniel that helps Alexis forget her troubles and she can't stay away from him. Alexis knows that all they have is a fling because they can't have a future together. Daniel doesn't fit into her life as an ER doctor who has a medical family legacy to uphold. But can Alexis leave him and the small town she has fallen in love with behind to continue with the life that has been planned out for her?

WOW! Abby Jimenez - I bow down to you! With each book she has written, I felt like it was my favorite of hers, but this book is easily going to take the prize. Her writing has been amazing from her debut novel but it impossibly gets better with each book. Part of Your World is a book that has captured my heart in a very deep way. Jimenez's writing is beautiful, emotive, and full of so much meaning beneath the surface that I feel like I'm going to be processing this one for a while.

I loved the palpable magnetism between Alexis and Daniel. From the moment they met, I knew that their love was as inevitable as was their heartbreak. I LOVE an age gap romance with an older female and younger male. It creates very interesting and heartbreaking challenges in their relationship, which include challenges that come from different generational cultures and gender stereotypes. On top of that, they have to face challenges from their difference in class, which is the most pronounced challenge in this book. What I loved most about this book was that Daniel was willing to face any of their challenges head on. He didn't care about anything else but her and he wanted to fight for her. Daniel's devotion to Alexis as their relationship progressed had me in tears because I knew that their relationship was going to crash and burn.

My most important takeaway from this book is that there are many nuances in finding strength. Someone can have the strength and confidence in some areas of their lives but maybe not in all areas of their lives. Alexis was this brilliant, powerful, talented, and respected woman in the medical field. She had a hard time finding the strength to fight against the influences of others and to take what she wanted. What we have the strength to fight for is a lot more complex than just making the decision that it's what we want.

This book is going to go on my all-time favorites list! This book made me laugh, made me cry, and made me feel all the things in-between. THIS IS A 2022 MUST-READ NOVEL!!!

4.5 ⭐️Okay, where can I get myself a guy like Daniel? He had a golden retriever personality and I loved every second of it. This book was so cute and I always love a story where I am pulled in instantly but also drawn to the characters so much that I feel like I know them.

Part of Your World is about Alexis and Daniel. Two people that are polar opposites in every way but they come together so beautifully. I literally swooned when reading Daniel's POV. He was the sweetest and had a pure soul. I was thrown off by the age gap at first but mostly just because it was brought up so casual. 37 year old woman and a 28 year old man? How crazy! Kidding but it was refreshing to read.

They definitely had things in common though due to the fact that they both had legacies in their lives and they were assumed to continue on those legacies. Alexis' felt more like an obligation the become the chief at her family hospital where Daniel's was pure excitement to continue the legacy of being mayor.

I really enjoyed this book! I teared up at a few parts where I felt my own heart breaking for the main characters due to their differences and thinking they could not be together. I felt like the ending was brought together wonderfully. I am always a sucker for happy endings.

I want to start this by saying that I will read anything Abby Jimenez puts out. Her books are fun, smart, and explore complex, heart wrecking topics in the most beautiful way. This book is no different, but I struggled with this one. I feel like the voice and tone of the opening didn’t carry through.

Daniel is everything I want in a male main character. He is interesting and sweet, he is kind and caring; but at times I felt like he faded too much behind Alexis’ story. He has a conflict with his biological mom, but it is really a sub sub sub plot. He felt very one dimensional, so even though the core of him was wonderful, I wanted more from him; more growth, more backbone, more depth.

I struggled to truly root for Alexis. She is an accomplished ER doctor in her late 30’s and she doesn’t know how to use a broom. It was just hard to root for someone who does not root for themselves. It is really difficult for me to wrap my mind around this woman who is so accomplished, yet so helpless. She spends the bulk of the book being a soft pushover who lets everyone around her decide her life. I understand that she was abused by her ex and her father, but I wanted some fire. I wanted to see her come alive but she just didn’t until the very end.

I liked the magic/Disney element but I felt like it took something away from the character's growth. Unlike Abby’s other books, it's not the characters fighting to be together, it's the town and the magic it holds.

At the end of the day I am glad I read this book. I passively enjoyed it and I still love Abby as a writer, but I feel like this book lacked a lot of what made me love her to begin with; witty, exuberant characters, who fight for what they want in the face of hard circumstances.

The best part of this book was Briana, who is the female main character of the next book. I will probably re-read Part of Your World in preparation.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better or that any of her future books would seriously rival The Happy Ever After Playlist (which WAS my favorite), she creates a story so beautiful that I honestly teared up a few times. I laughed. I smiled. I fell in love with the story. First, we have Alexis who is an ER Physician at a very prominent hospital with a family legacy like no other. And then we have Daniel, the mayor of very small town and pretty much the jack of all trades kind of guy, who also has a family legacy lasting many generations. When these two meet, as fate would have it, that chance meeting ends up evolving as the 2 start spending more time with one another. Life is just not fair in this world and it certainly isn't for these 2, testing them and their love for each other when one day their worlds collide. The ending was truly one I did not imagine and I am incredibly happy that that was so because it was so much better than what I had in mind. Thank you so much to Abby Jimenez for creating such a wonderful story! And thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this incredible book!

4.5/ 5 stars

I adore Abby Jimenez so I was so excited to get to read her new book, Part of Your World. I would categorize this book as somewhere between a rom-com and contemporary romance. There are definitely some very funny parts. But there are also a lot of serious subjects mentioned.

The female narrator is 37 year old Alexis/Ali Montgomery (1st person POV).

Ali is such an interesting heroine. She is an ER doctor in Minneapolis. Her parents are extremely demanding. And her ex-boyfriend is also a handful. But Ali herself is very entitled. I really enjoyed seeing the world from her point of view.

The male narrator is Daniel Grant (1st person POV). He is a carpenter and property manager. What an amazing and kind soul. I really enjoyed everything about Daniel. And I loved seeing the world from his point of view.

There are some great characters (pretty much everyone in the small town where Daniel lives, but especially Doug and Liz). And Ali's best friend Bri. I loved Bri's advice!

There are also a bunch of characters who made me so mad. I really disliked almost everyone in Minneapolis, especially Ali's dad and Neil.

Overall there was so much to love about this book. I loved that so many serious issues were mentioned. I loved that this book was beautiful and emotional. The romance was epic! I adore books that make me feel and this book made me feel so much!

*This book is a standalone. But Daniel is Josh's cousin from The Friend Zone (but Josh is not in this book).

I loved this book! A great combo of romantic comedy with real depth to the characters. I loved the mysterious weather, the zany animals and nod to the Princess Bride. I also loved the whole start of the book and how Alexis meets Daniel. This one draws you in instantly and kept me guessing until the end on how it was all going to work out. Wakan is its own character and I could have read a whole other book on this town alone. It was the perfect ending, just a great read all around.

Abby always knows how to blend tough topics with humor, love, and romance. "Part of Your World" just may be the best book in this series.

Alexis Montgomery lives life meeting the expectations of others. When her love life falls apart, she starts to see that maybe she needs to step outside of her family name and live her life on her terms. Daniel Grant is the polar opposite of everything Alexis knows. His simple life draws Alexis in, giving her something she hasn't experience before: a place for her to be herself, not just another Montgomery living out her family's pedigree. Can two very different people find their happy ever after when they are worlds apart?

Throughout the book, I experience second-hand embarrassment, laugh out loud moments, and found myself crying over zombies. I will never think of a ring light the same way again nor will a simple rock ever hold so much meaning. Jimenez held nothing back and I am forever grateful for her writing. "Part of Your World" is perfection from start to finish.

4.5 STARS for Abby Jimenez's forthcoming novel, PART OF YOUR WORLD, out everywhere on April 19th, 2022.

Alexis is a late thirty something successful doctor in a big city who likes the finer things in life. Daniel is a late twenty something carpenter in a small town who likes to keep things simple. They couldn't be more different. But when a meet cute forces them together, they find out that they're magnetic. They are from two very different worlds but what happens when it feels like they're destined to be together.

Abby Jimenez never lets me down. She can pull me out of any book slump and she did just that. I love how she weaves a swoon worthy love story in with real life issues in all of her novels. All of her books are a delight, and PART OF YOUR WORLD is no different. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Can't wait to see what Abby Jimenez has in store for us next.

I look forward for sharing this title on our blog and will keep it as a potential contender as a pick for our monthly book club.

Abby Jimenez knows how to write fun yet heartfelt stories with intriguing characters that you root for and watch grow as you read. When it comes to Part of Your World, that continues to be true. But what separates Part of Your World apart from Jimenez's pervious three books is just how predictable this book was. I have gotten so use to Jimenez's ability to be so original, that when I figured out the ending within the first five chapters and I was correct, it was disappointing. Honestly, the plot seemed straight out of a Hallmark Holiday movie. Very much the weakest, by far, of all of Jimenez's books.

This is my first Abby Jimenez book and WOW what have I been missing?? I loved this book so much. The characters were great, the story was lovely, the comedy was on point, and I even cried. I loved this one so much, and I can’t see what comes next for Bri in the next book!

The story is about Alexis - super rich, big city physician who is never seen as good enough by her stuck up parents - and Daniel - small town mayor, carpenter and B&B host. An unlikely couple since their worlds don’t mesh well…

Trope: Unlikely pairing
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Romance: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
TW: Emotional abuse

Thanks so much to NetGalley & Grand Central Publishing for a copy of this book for review. Part of Your World is out April 19, 2022.

Absolutely one of the best books I’ve read this year. Abby Jimenez does it again with Part of Your World. I really appreciate getting an advanced copy of this book!

I could not put this book down. It would be amazing to see this story turned into a movie. Two people from two different worlds being drawn together by their hearts- what a beautiful story. It begs us to decide if love can conquer all.

This book was so good, I devoured it in 2 days. Laugh out loud moments, great banter and chemistry. A cinnamon roll hero that's very well done and believable. This book had me laughing and teared me up at times, incorporates some thought provoking themes that are not awkward or heavy handed. Everything about this novel was well executed. A great reading experience, highly recommend.

All of Abby’s books are fantastic and this one is no different than the rest! She is such an amazing storyteller and it’s so fun to get a peek into the lives of characters from past books. Can’t wait for the next one💕

I've read all three books in Abby Jimenez's Friend Zone series. The first titular novel I really didn't like. The Happily-Ever-Playlist was better, but my favorite so far is Life's Too Short, which hit just the right balance of sweet and sassy. This one, however, is so much better, and one of the favorite romances I've read this year. Alexis and Daniel's story has brought me firmly into the romance corner, and I find myself wanting even more. This is a bit too adult for our YA readers, but I'm happy to recommend this to teachers, and staff alike!

I am seriously going to need a few days to process my emotions and recover from this incredibly heartfelt and awesome read. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, and startled my dogs more than once as I read Part of Your World! Abby Jimenez's fourth novel, is enjoyable, sexy, moving, emotional, thought-provoking—I absolutely loved it!! There really needs to be a special level of star-ratings for Abby Jimenez’s books because 5-stars is simply not a high enough rating for her talented writing, thoughtful character and plot development, and overall riveting storyline where big city gal, Alexis, meets Daniel, a small-town guy with a big heart. I was absolutely captivated by Alexis and Daniel’s undeniable connection and could not put Part of Your World down. Part of Your World is in the same universe as Abby’s other books, The Friend Zone, Happy Ever After Playlist, and Life’s Too Short, which are certainly worth reading for further enjoyment and connection with the various Easter eggs that Abby has sprinkled throughout Part of Your World. I am planning to go back to reread TFZ, HEAP, and LTS for the trip down memory lane that POYW has sparked! Thank you, Abby Jimenez for another brilliant story, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Part of Your World!

4 stars

This is my first Abby Jimenez novel and I can't wait to read her other books. Part of Your World is a lovely romcom. Alexis Montgomery is an ER doctor from a long line of prestigious doctors. She meets Daniel Grant during a pit stop on her drive home. He's a much younger, small town carpenter. While they are from very different lives, they click.

The book just flew by and I read it in a day. The world needs a lot more Daniels in it.
