Oh my, this book is fabulous! Upon reading the first paragraph I was quickly drawn into the worlds of Alexis and Daniel and finished this book in a day. I felt like I won the lottery when I was granted an ARC from Estelle at Forever and what a prize this novel is! Jiminez’s novels blend romance, humor and usually a life issue (fertility, grief or illness). This novel is the tale of Alexis who is a 37 wealthy physician from a prestigious medical family who is held to critical standards from her parents. Daniel is a 28 year old carpenter and lives in a small town of Wakan. Alexis is recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship and trying to find balance in her life. Daniel is the mayor of the small town, bed and breakfast owner and a carpenter. This tells the story of their relationship, the small town Daniel lives in and how they struggle with meshing their two worlds. I loved all the cast of characters: the people (Alex, Daniel, Doug and Briana) and animals which make this book so fun. There is a mystical element as well, especially about the town of Wakan which tries to attract her to stay. Briana Alexis’s best friend has great one liners and is the best friend everyone wishes they had (she’s getting her own book). Even though emotional and physical abuse are addressed there are enough laugh out moments (all I can say is “Dick pick”) that had me gasping for air. Jiminez deftly creates novels that are laugh out loud funny and not weighed down by the heavy topic she’s addressing. But she always infuses a mixture life lessons in her novels. My favorite line in the novel is “Grace costs nothing” which refers to being kind and that good attitude permeates the book. I just loved “Part of Your World”, it made me fall in love with Jiminez’s writing all over again.
I LOVED this book! I'm a huge fan of Abby Jimenez and loved her first three books. Part of Your World was amazing! I love how she writes the chapters from both the hero and heroine's perspectives. It really makes you get to know and love the main characters. I grew up in a small Minnesota town that was mentioned in the book (Red Wing), so I immediately fell in love with Daniel. I read the book in less than two days, and I have two toddlers at home! I loved the ending :)! The hardest part will be waiting until Bri's story is released in spring 2023!!!
I knew that I was going to love this book, but I wasn't prepared for exactly how much! I have loved all of Abby Jimenez's books but this one really was unbelievably hard to put down. I immediately felt drawn to both worlds and while I had a hunch I knew where the book was going, I still couldn't wait to see where they all ended up. The characters were engaging and thoughtful. and the relationships adorable. I loved every minute of the book and can't wait to read whatever she does next
ABBY JIMENEZ HAS DONE IT AGAIN! FIVE STARS!
I absolutely loved this love story of Daniel and Alexis. Specifically, I really loved Daniel's POV. I really felt how much he loved Alexis from the very start, even with her constant pushback.
I loved how the age difference wasn't a huge part of the book - mind you, it was there. But it wasn't the sole focus. I have read too many books where that is the overwhelming factor.
I am also appreciative of how abuse was represented in this book. It brought to light that there are many different kinds of abuse, whether you can see it or not.
Overall, this book was amazing. I can't wait to read Bri's story because she's a firecracker!
what a cute read 😍 i couldn't put it down! it gave me all the feels and Abby Jimenez always kills it when it comes to banter! it was everything i love in a romance; passionate, light, funny, and predictable. i can't wait for Bri's story next!
I just finished this book, and now I've read all of Abby Jimenexz books! And I think this was my favourite one! 5 glowing stars! I just love this author so much. Her ability to write deep emotions, but still have humour and then a seriousness without feeling like its token issues or cheapness. This romance was meaningful and oh so sweet! I usually don't like a friends-to-lovers trope .. and while this doesn't fit that traditional mode I think it still has those aspects. But I absolutely adored it. Every word is carefully crafted. I judge my emotional romances based on finger tingles and stomach clenches, and this book delivered all of that! I felt everything the author wanted me to. Amazing.
Abby has done it again! A beautiful heartwarming and heart-wrenching book. I can honestly say from when I first started the book I was no longer present in the real world because the world of Alexis and Daniel pulled me in. I did my best to take my time reading it and only semi-suceeded.
The awareness and sensitivity Abby gives to her characters and their situations is unparalleled. Thank you for giving us an incredible book and bringing awareness to small town disparities and mental health issues.
Thank you NetGallery for the advance copy.
Abby has done it again, she has written a book that makes you feel the spectrum of human emotion. I laughed until my sides hurt, felt anxious and scared, and cried with my whole heart. Her books always take you on that roller coaster of a ride that is a relationship, but leave you feeling pumped with adrenaline to read just one more chapter... and then you find it's over. Her tongue n cheek style feels like your not reading a book, but that your girlfriend is telling you a story. POYW had a particular relateability that pulled on my heartstrings, and made me route for Daniel and Alexis..all while I wanted to shake her and tell her exactly why she belonged with him. Can't wait for the next in the series!
Abby truly has a gift. Each book of hers is so very different when it comes to the plot and characters, yet they are all so wonderfully written! I feel blessed to have received this ARC. I instantly fell in love with Part of Your World, just as I have with every single other book she has written! I have such a book hangover now, in the best way possible. I will never forget this book (and I read a lot!). Thank you for the best escape, Abby! Also, thank you for mentioning Cedar Rapids and the Midwest in general. Thank you for staying true to who you are. Go Iowa! I will be purchasing this title for our library and recommending it to anyone who looks lost browsing Barnes and Noble. 🤣 ❤
Abby Jimenez is a must read author for me and Part of Your World was a solid read. This meet-cute follows urban doctor Alexis and rural goat cuddler/mayor/carpenter/jack-of-all-trades Daniel as they navigate their relationship despite geographical, class, and age differences. Abby always balances laugh out loud scenes (looking at you ring light scene) with deeply heavy content, in this case abusive relationships. I really loved the unexpected sprinkling of magic throughout. Some of the themes got a bit repetitive, like the comparison of Daniel to Alexis’s POS abusive ex-boyfriend, but overall that did not detract too much from my enjoyment of this read. Thanks to @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I have previously given Abby Jimenez's books four star reviews--and they were great romantic comedies. In fact, the last one, Life's Too Short was my favorite--until now. In that review I wrote that I hoped Jimenez wouldn't stop taking chances with her characters, and she hasn't.
Part of Your World is a socio-economic, education, age-gap rom-com full of small town shenanigans--baby goats in pajamas and runaway pigs, dinners at the diner, romantic evenings at the local drive-in movie theater. It all centers around Daniel, the 28-year-old mayor of Wakan, a tourist town that shuts down during the off season, and big-city ER doctor Alexis. She gets stuck in a ditch on her way home from a funeral and Daniel saves her. One thing leads to another and they hook up after a silly bet at the VFW hall, but she sneaks out in the morning, doing a walk of shame back to Minneapolis with one shoe and a stolen hoodie.
Alexis overthinks everything. Luckily, she has a great wing-woman in her best friend, Bri, and soon she is looking Daniel up and making plans to return to Wakan. It's a long, glorious summer, but Alexis gives herself a deadline on happiness, knowing that her life as a big-city ER chief of staff and Daniel's as the de facto mayor of Wakan can never work. Hearts break, mine included.
Life isn't easy, but some things are simple. Daniels knows this and he works hard to make Alexis see it. We know we are going to get a HEA; it's the getting there that is the fun of romance. Here it is well worth the wait: Lessons are learned, bad guys get their comeuppance, and true love wins in the end.
I appreciate how Jimenez continues to tackle series issues (here, generational emotional abuse and domestic violence) while weaving a love story that allows both the male and female leads to show vulnerability. An added bonus: name-dropping characters from the previous books to reward those of us who have been here since the beginning.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book prior to publication. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Compelling book with engaging romance, high stakes, family drama, and rising from emotional abuse. While the heat was a little higher than my usual tastes, it was nonetheless a page-turner, one that current fans of Abby Jimenez, such as myself, will embrace!
Abby did it again. I spent the entire book rooting for Alexis and Daniel. Their story was so sweet and left me wanting to know more. All the supporting characters in Wakan were charming and well written - even the one I didn’t care for. Every detail of the places and characters were so well written, I felt like I was there with Alexis through it all. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes an easy read that will most certainly tug in your heartstrings.
Sometimes knowing a book will have a happy ending makes it more predictable. Not this book! This book had enough twists and turns to keep me reading until 1am just to finish! It was such a good story and so fun to read! The characters are lovable and the story is exactly what you want to read in this genre!
Abby Jimenez’s Part of Your World is the unlikely relationship of Dr. Alexis Montgomery (age 37) and Daniel Grant (age 28). Alexis is the chief ER doctor and lives in luxury near Minneapolis. Daniel is a sixth generation carpenter who lives two hours from Alexis in a city called Wakan, in the middle of nowhere. Daniel and Alexis alternate in narrating their love story. I especially love the cameo appearances of Jimenez’s characters from her other books.
Part of Your World is now my favorite Abby Jimenez book! I loved immersing myself into the world of Alexis and Daniel. Their sincerest thoughts and feelings were so perfectly expressed by the author. I felt joy and hope and laughter and my heart broke in this wonderful story. I’m going to post a more comprehensive review closer to the publication date. Five big beautiful stars for me!
Author Abby Jimenez can do no wrong in my world! Each of her books, in my opinion, is better than the last! I have never read an author that keeps getting better and better with each book! She is also not afraid to mix romance with a more serious subject, and in this case it's domestic violence. This is so important because you see that violence is not only physical, but also emotional. In this story we meet two women who are victims of both.
Oh this book! Daniel may be my new favorite book boyfriend! I loved everything about him! Not only is he and Alexis’s chemistry smoking hot, they are just perfect together! When they first met Alexis didn't know how to do anything because it's always been done for her. She now knows how to cook, change a tire and so many other life skills. I loved it when Daniel showed her something new! He will have you swooning! Also how can I forget to mention the goat that wears pajamas?!! So adorable!
Now her parents, ex and two of her girlfriends are going to be the people you love to hate because they are that awful! Thankfully Alexis does have one friend who has her back, and now I need her as a BFF!
This book will make you laugh, swoon, cry and want to throw the book at the wall while reading about the above mentioned horrible people! It may also make you want to move to a small town!
Do not sit on this one! Pre-order today or grab your copy when it comes out April 19, 2022!
Thank you Forever Pub, Author Abby Jimenez and NetGalley for my #ARC!

When Alexis finds her car stuck in a ditch at night and in the middle of no where, she is hesitant to allow a stranger to help her. She reluctantly gives in to the kind stranger realizing she has no other options, and is shocked to run into him at a dive bar an hour later. Though the two hit it off easily, she knows nothing serious can come of their flirting given that she in 10 years his senior and lives over 2 hours away. In spite of all that, she can’t deny the attraction.
LOVED. I devoured this entire series and this latest installment was no different! I was so excited for this one that I started it moments after receiving it and I couldn’t put it down from the very first page. I had so much trouble focusing on anything in the weeks leading up to my wedding, yet I finished this one in 24 hours - even with wedding brain! If you’ve read the other books in this series you will love this one just as much!
Well, Abby Jimenez has done it again! If you have loved her other books, this one won’t disappoint! Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Book Group for providing me an ARC to read and review.
Alexis Montgomery is an ER doctor from a wealthy family of surgeons and doctors in the city. When her car breaks down, Daniel Grant comes to her aid, and soon sparks are flying between the two. However, Daniel is a small-town carpenter, and will never live up to Alexis’ parents expectations. As Alexis and Daniel continue to get closer, Alexis finds real happiness with Daniel, but knows that it will have to end due to her responsibilities at home, but ending the relationship seems impossible.
The characters in this story are so well done! I fell in love with many of them, as well as the small town of Wakan. Abby has a way of creating characters that you can really connect with. There are many obstacles in this relationship, and Abby also did a great job of helping the reader see how impossible things feel for the characters in their situation. I found myself laughing out loud many times (especially due to the antics of Hunter) and also shedding a few tears, as I have with all of Abby’s stories.
I sped through this book because I couldn’t get enough. Just read it! It’s a good one. And don’t worry, there is a HEA! 😉
Well Abby did it again y’all. 👏 I didn’t think any of her main characters could top my love for Jason but Daniel definitely gave him a run for his money. (Jason is the main character in her second book and if you haven’t read The Happy Ever After Playlist I need you to fix that immediately.)
Alexis lives in a big city and is heading home from a funeral when her car ends up in a ditch. She’s in a small town and is definitely stuck when Daniel drives by and tows her out. They meet up again when she goes out looking for a meal and the story kicks off from there. Alexis has a hard time staying away from Daniel and the small town he loves so much even though she believes their lives will never mesh.
I love how Abby’s books always deal with real issues and I have so much respect for how she dealt with domestic violence and emotional abuse in this one. If you are looking for a small town romantic comedy with a heart of gold (and an adorable baby goat) pick this book up when it releases April 19, 2022. Thank you again @readforeverpub for the advanced digital copy. 💖
