If you haven't read a book by Abby Jimenez yet, this is your sign to do it! Pick up The Friend Zone and start reading! While this is a standalone book, it features a few characters from previous books. I love how Abby is able to take heavy topics and write in a way shows how strong the people can be. I adored Alexis and Daniel along with all of the people of Wakan. I can not wait for the next installment to learn all about Bri!

Thank you @readforeverpub for a copy of this book. This was all the stars!! My heart was shredded to pieces and put back together. I loved Jason from HEAP but Daniel is now my new favorite book boyfriend!! The story made me laugh and cry and I was on a total emotional coaster.

I read this book has a lot of references to Disney and was worried it would be over top Disney and I was glad it wasn’t. It was a great way to give love to Disney without it being in your face.

I adore the Easter eggs dropped through the book.

Impression: Abby Jimenez does it again. This time, think Alexis from Schitt’s Creek (except super smart) meets Sweet Home Alabama.

Synopsis: Alexis is an ER doc and the black sheep of her family. After her brother is disowned for marrying a pop star, she is expected to take over the family legacy. After getting pulled out of a ditch by country boy Daniel, she starts a fling that turns into more. But how could they ever make it work?

Is love enough to give up your whole life?

Thoughts: While this book wasn’t my favorite of Abby’s, it’s not really fair to compare since they’re all 5 star books for me. The chemistry between Daniel and Alexis was off the charts but the book kept the steam level fairly low, which was A-ok by me.

As expected from an Abby book, there’s a lot of deeper story lines and this time it’s about the cycle of abuse, both emotional and physical. It was so well done and really added to the story.

At first I was a bit annoyed that the town has a bit of “magic” of sorts, but in the end I really liked how the town always gets what it needed.

I laughed, I cried, I sped through it in 24 hrs, I didn’t want it to end.

Also, the Easter eggs in this book made me so happy!! Abby is my favorite author and I just reread all of her previous books, so I think I caught them all.

Go preorder this book, it’ll be so worth it!!

Thank you so much to @readforeverpub and @netgalley for this ARC. I have been waiting for this to become available and screamed when I got approved.

Wow. Ahhh so many feelings to process. First of all, five incredible stars. Seriously. I could not put this down (much like Abby’s other books). She never disappoints me.

This is a reverse age gap. Alexis meets Daniel one night after driving her car into a ditch. Alexis is an ER doctor and Daniel is mayor of a small town named Wakan. He runs his grandparents B&B, is an incredible carpenter, all while helping the townspeople.

I was swooning from the first second we met Daniel and the baby goat in pajamas.
I am such a sucker for a quaint small town and Wakan did not disappoint. The characters were just lovely, and the way Daniel cared about the people of Wakan was the sweetest.

The character development for Alexis was so amazing to watch, she had me cheering for her so hard near the end.

There is so much I want to say, but really I don’t want to give anything away. Abby has such an amazing way of portraying hard situations in her stories with such grace and the ability to make people understand - there is talk of physical and emotional abuse, and depression in this one.

I highly recommend reading her other books because the mentions of past characters had me left with the biggest grin on my face. I love love love when authors crossover characters - and Abby does it best. P.S so happy we will get Bri’s story in 2023!!!

Also, the nod to Taylor Swift was just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When it comes to contemporary romance, Abby Jimenez is one of my favorite authors. I've loved all three of her previous books, and the fourth will surely continue her successful streak.

Alexis and Daniel come from different worlds. She is a Minneapolis ER doctor destined to carry on her wealthy family's legacy at a prestigious hospital. He is a (very) small-town carpenter who is also proprietor of his absent mother's B&B. He also has a goat, a pig, and a rambunctious dog. Alexis and Daniel "meet cute" when he hauls her car out of a ditch and forge a casual relationship (with benefits) based on their mutual attraction. But Daniel is almost 10 years younger, and their lifestyles don't mesh at all. In addition, both have [personal/family issues that they are struggling to overcome.

Abby Jimenez has a knack for creating fascinating characters, fleshing out their worlds with color and interesting details. Daniel, in particular, is one of the most endearing heroes I have encountered. There is even a small dash of magical realism. Best of all, the plot is imaginative and soul-satisfying, with some fairy tale elements. Jimenez can't write her next book fast enough for me.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Abby’s best yet! (And her first three books were excellent.) I loved this story. My favorite meet-cute I’ve read in ages. Tons of funny moments in a surprisingly deep story. Can’t wait to re-read this one.

I don’t even know where to begin, as I’m tearing up just thinking about this absolute rave review I’m about to write. Abby has done it again, better than before. How that is even possible I do not know.
I was a victim of emotional abuse with my ex husband. I didn’t know it at the time, as many victims are blind to the abuse. My abuse was not as drastic as that of Alexis’s in the book, thank God, but it still left its marks. My now husband saved me from that life, and that marriage. He helped me see my worth and pulled me from my darkness.
The hidden gems in this book, alluding to Disney themes, characters and magic in general was genius. I wasn’t even aware of all of the clues until I read the Q&A at the end of the book. I think this is my favorite book in the lineup so far (though just saying that I’m doubting it because all of her other books are SO GOOD).

Is there a 6th Star option? Abby Jimenez knocks it out of the park once again with her 4th book, Part of Your World. I have read all of her books, but this, by far, is my favorite (they were all 5 star reads for me, but this one get's a 6th bonus star!). This book takes you on a full rollercoaster ride of a love story. Alexis and Daniel meet on a dark foggy road thanks to a raccoon, and kismet (and maybe a sprinkle of magic) do their thing along their journey to keep bringing them back to one another, even when the "real world" and real life responsibilities want to get in the way of true love. It was a 24 hour read for me- could not put it down, even in the cringey moments when Alexis makes choices we KNOW she's going to regret. There are moments of great pain and sorrow (and spoiler/trigger warning, this book does deal with emotional and physical abuse scenarios in domestic relationships and adult parent/child relationships...all with a good ending though), but also the happiest, corniest lines, and just pure magic when the town of Wakan comes to LIFE to help encourage it's people to be their best. If you're a fan of Disney, you'll appreciate the very subtle nods to so many magical stories, starting with the title itself! I was fortunate enough to review this Advance Reader Copy courtesy of Abby Jimenez and NetGalley, but all opinions are my own.

Abby Jimenez has done it again 👏 Part of Your World is by far my favorite of her books thus far! Abby literally has this way of breathing life right into her characters. When they laugh, you laugh. When they cry, you cry. And when they're angry, you're ready to fight whoever is making them feel that way. This books tackles some hard topics like mental and physical abuse, but in a way that empowers the victims and doesn't glorify the abusers. I love how Abby works in real life problems that many of her readers have dealt with first hand, and she does it respectively and with research to ensure she's painting the perfect, most realistic picture. And to put icing on the cupcake, she has created the most magical love story. As always I was surprised at every plot twist and could not put this book down. I can't wait to read it again and I just finished it last night. Amazing job Abby, thank you for creating yet another masterpiece for me to read (and read and read 🤣).

P.S. to my fellow Abby Jimenez junkies, the cameos she throws in this book are just glorious and I love them so much ❤

I’ve read all of Jimenez’s book multiple times and have loved them. The characters were realistic, believable, love-able/hate-able, and the plot had me hooked. I enjoy how she’s able to hook in other characters from previous books as characters into new books.
What I loved about this book was how the one of the main characters (Alexis) at the end of the book truly found her “calling” in life. Her story line is all too familiar and all too common, so how she resolved her problems had me cheering, “YES!” as I finished the last few chapters. The other main character (Daniel) felt like he was a “wild unicorn”
of a man; he cooks, he’s thoughtful, he’s caring, has typical manly qualities, and he’s not afraid to chase after the woman he loves.
I also appreciate how Jimenez touches on hard to talk about, yet very real, problems in society (in this case domestic violence and abusive relationships). It makes the story lines relatable and able to grasp, even for secondary characters.
I loved to hate Alexis’ dad; he was a well written villain. I even hated but then felt sorry for her ex by the end.
I also loved the real references to Minnesota locations; as a MN girl myself, I enjoy the mentions of places I’ve actually been.
What I didn’t love about this book was what I felt was the lack of character development in the first few chapters. It felt like the story just abruptly started and I hardly knew who I was reading about. I didn’t care about them enough to have much feelings for them. By the end I cared!
I also struggled with some details on the ending. Without giving too much away, the endings of her books all have similar qualities (married, pregnant, etc). While I’m all for a “happy ever after” ending, sometimes it’s fine to be a little mad at how the end happens.

Will I buy this book once it releases? Yes! Will I re-read it? Yes. Will I recommend it to friends or give as a gift? Absolutely. Would I pick up one of her earlier works instead? Most likely.

Be still my dang heart. I've gushed about this series more than enough for y'all to know that The Friendship Zone books are my favorite romance series and that @authorabbyjimenez is one of my very favorite authors. Hence why I lost my MIND and dropped everything I was doing last Thursday evening when I was approved for an ARC of her latest release, Part of Your World, due next spring.

Alexis is an ER doctor who runs into car trouble and is stranded in a small town. Daniel is a carpenter/innkeeper/town's mayor who helps her. Throw in a grilled cheese sandwich and a baby goat, she is swept off her feet by the devastatingly handsome guy who knows how to use his hands. Can two people with nothing in common find lasting love or will their spark burn out?

I slept a grand total of 2 hours and finished this cutie in one sitting. I laughed out loud, cried and felt all the feels in between. What a GEM! Abby does it again by creating pure rom com magic with sizzling chemistry, an interesting plot, enlightening character growth, endearing side characters, witty banter and the SWOONIEST ROMANCE. As always, she handles incredibly sensitive topics (i.e. emotional and physical abuse, parental abandonment, gaslighting) with incredible grace and poise. As a mental health clinician, I was pleased with the thoughtful and appropriate responses and resources shared in the story and the author's note for survivors of abuse. This love story was authentic, soulful, vulnerable, funny and smart. I simply adored it.

Things I LOVED: small town, baby goats, touches of magic, some Disney princess vibes, age gap romance, examples of healthy boundary setting, fun meet cute, steam, grand gestures, healthcare profession

Things I didn't love: absolutely NOTHING!

This darling gem of a book comes out into the world on April 19, 2022. Mark your calendars, pre-order your copy, and go re-read all her other books to prepare your hearts!

A million thanks to @ readforeverpub + @netgalley for my copy of this one.

Abby did it again! I love everything about this book! I love the big city girl and small town boy. I love the seriousness and the comedy. I love that Abby clearly does her research. I love the references to previous books (Abby calls them Easter eggs). Bravo Abby!

Okay are you KIDDING ME with this book?!

(Thanks @readforeverpub for the @netgalley ARC!)

I’m obsessed. 100%, couldn’t put this down, still thinking about it the next morning, obsessed. This book was everything I needed from it. It was romantic, it was funny, it tackled hard subjects in such a graceful and informative way. It was the perfect weekend read. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with these characters just like I did in Jimenez’s first two books. ❤️ (Book 3 fell a bit flat for me but we won’t talk about that. This one redeemed itself!!)

Absolutely pick this one up when you can. Coming April 2022. ❤️

HUGE content warnings for emotional abuse, gaslighting, domestic violence!!

Abby Jimenez did it again! I laughed, I cried, and I sighed as Alexis and Daniel lived their love story.

As a reader of a “certain age” I appreciated an older heroine taking a chance on love with a younger man. Ms. Jimenez developed the cast of characters fully - no one is perfect. The ability to be self aware, know your value, and believing in yourself is not always a smooth path. The insidious effects of abuse were handled, in my opinion, with sensitivity and exposed the damage that can be done with words as well as fists. On a lighter note, the town of Wakan came alive as it’s own magical character. I enjoyed the description of life in a small town, the sense of community, and the commitment to care for their own.

I have read and enjoyed all of Abby Jimenez’s books and this one did not disappoint! I can’t wait for the next in this series!

Just when you think Abby can't possibly do better than her last 3 books, she goes and writes something like this... And I loved every word! I find my reaction to Abby's books are about 50% grinning, 20% laughing out loud, 20% contemplating sensitive subject matters, and 10% tears. Part of Your World was no different.

Abby walks the reader through a believable and tender tale that highlights just how much our origin stories impact our thought processes and decisions, our approaches to life, and our sense of belonging and worthiness. She covers some tough topics, such as verbal and physical abuse, with grace and thoughtfulness.

This book is sprinkled with fairy-tale whimsy, symbolism, and a little bit of magic. My only complaint is it was over too soon (and I wouldn't mind if we got the full, steamy details of that first night's encounter, Abby)!

I wasn't quite sure how I would feel about one of Abby's books that didn't include the Abby-verse core group of characters, but it was extremely enjoyable.

Alexis is a girl that has her head on straight and is coming to terms with leaving an emotionally abusive relationship and runs into Daniel who is 10 years younger and an exceptionally swoony book boyfriend. Their relationship is goals and I loved their banter and how they related to each other. They're both from separate worlds, but they give each other a part of themselves that changes the other and makes them better. Honesty though, Daniel did this way more for Alexis.

Like all romance novels there has to be some friction and I wanted to shake Alexis for constantly trying to downplay this great relationship and want to leave Daniel because they'll never be able to make it work. Obviously it works in the end, but I definitely came up with the idea of how to fix things early on so I wanted to just shout at the characters to figure it out already, haha.

Trademark Abby humor, amazing conversations, and a supporting cast that either makes you angry or makes you so happy. I love the town of Wakan and I cannot wait for Bri's book coming next year. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early. I'm a sucker for all of Abby's books and this one is no exception.

Part of Your World is one of the best books that I've read in a quite a while. I'm a massive Abby Jimenez fan and I love this series. When I found out that there was going to be a new book, I was thrilled! Even better when I saw I received the arc to read!

Ok, I love Alexis and Daniel!!!! There story was so good. They made me laugh, I felt all the feelings with these two. I cried more than once, and I just felt so much love with these characters. I was rooting for them so hard to make it work.

Alexis, 37 and super accomplished, was such a strong woman once she realized her own voice mattered. This book deals with abuse and it was hard reading about what her ex put her through, but I was glad to see that she stood up for herself and she refused to be in that position again. Her parents crushed me and I saw that sometimes, even those we love so much can cause us so much harm. Alexis really went through a lot in this story and as hard as it was reading about it, I was glad to see the changes she made.

Daniel. Honestly, he might be my new book boyfriend after reading this. I just loved him. Small town boy who takes care of so many things and so many people. I loved the story of how he first met Alexis on the side of the road and how their story just took off from there. Daniel is strong. He is hard working. He is incredible. He's thoughtful and generous. He's everything that Alexis is not used to when it comes to men in a relationship. I was so happy to see him realize his own worth as well.

Also, can I say that I loved that book featured a 37 year old woman falling for a 28 year old. THANK YOU.

Before we start, I’d like to thank Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the chance to read this lovely ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m always scared when books and authors I love have so much hype because what if they don’t live up to them? What if I don’t love the book? This was my most anticipated book of 2022 and I’m so happy to say that it most certainly lived up to all the hype and that Abby Jimenez deserves all the praise she gets! She has a way of making you fall in love with these characters and really getting to know them.
This book is funny, swoon worthy and tackles a very serious subject matter with respect and that is really a testament to how talented Abby is as a writer.
Let’s start with Alexis I loved her development and her openness to change even if she didn’t really see it. She was struggling with a lot. Her willingness to learn was nice to see.
( I could say so much more but SPOILERS)

Daniel, Daniel, DANIEL! Abby really does write the best husbandoos! I have a thing where I like to rank the best book boyfriends and give them the HUSBANDOO title. Daniel is on that list. He’s so sweet, loving and he has a baby goat do I need to say more? Because I can, trust me. His banter with Alexis was part of why this book works. It’s so natural.

Something I really enjoyed about this book was that the magical aspect of it didn’t hit you over the head like “HEY LOOK AT ME THERE’S MAGIC IN THE AIR “it was subtle but if you paid attention you could totally see it!
I can’t say enough good things about this book, I absolutely loved it! My physical copy has been pre-ordered, and I can’t wait for the audiobook links!

Each time I read Abby Jimenez's latest book, it becomes a favorite and not only is Part of Your World an instant favorite of mine, it is a book that a few days after finishing I'm still thinking about and made me feel so many emotions while reading.

The chemistry between Alexis and Daniel was incredible from their meet cute while Alexis and her car were in a ditch and throughout their relationship that neither one of them was calling a relationship. Reading about them, you just know that these two characters are destined to be together, even if Alexis tried fighting it. They balanced each other so well coming from two different worlds and were exactly what the other needed, even if they weren't ready to admit it yet.

While I have loved every character so far that Abby has based her books on, Alexis felt to me like the most relatable character. There are so many instances when we put what everyone else wants ahead of what we want, when we let our jobs dictate our lives, and don't follow our hearts because we are afraid of the damage it will do to those around us, and my heart not only broke for her, but it was also so easy to sympathize with her because I've found myself in those situations before. Her growth throughout the book as she learned to stand her ground with Neil, realize things about her family and friends, and follow her heart both romantically and in what she wanted her legacy to be, was so powerful.

Abby knows how to write the most swoon worthy book boyfriends, and Daniel is one you will easily fall in love with as soon as you meet him. He was so caring to Alexis and all of those around him and was always willing to do what anyone needed of him, even if it meant putting his own needs second. At first, Alexis and Daniel seem like they have nothing in common and won't work, but they are more alike than they both realize and at the end of the day, they both just want to help those around them. It is a pairing that you will root so hard for, because you know deep down how much they truly love each other.

Part of Your World is a small town romance with little bits of magical elements mixed in. The cast of characters that you meet — aside from one — will make you understand why Daniel loves his hometown so much and how easy it is for Alexis to fall in love with the town. And it wouldn't be an Abby story without a dog that is so lovable even when he is misbehaving! This story deals with abuse, both physically and emotionally, and it is written with such care and respect.

I highly recommend Part of Your World. It will leave you with a book hangover and you will be so glad you read it. I now cannot wait for my physical copy of the book to arrive!
