From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be a good one. I immersed myself into the book from the first chapter and I cannot say enough good things about this book! Honestly amazing! The writing is incredible and the plot is just one to die for. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. My favorite part would have to be the character development throughout the book. Character development is something I look forward to and this book did not disappoint.
Abby Jimenez does not disappoint, and this book definitely didn't either. I could not put it down! I loved watching Daniel and Alexis fall in love, I loved watching them overcome issues and find a way to be together. I loved watching Alexis become independent and into her own. I laughed out loud, reread pages so I can experience their love again. I cannot wait to read Bri's story because I know it will be this good. I need a goat in pjs because how adorable is that! Definitely recommend it and cannot wait to read what's next.
I adored this book and am super excited that the story is continuing in Spring of 2023!! This feels reminiscent of Jasmine Guillory but mixed with Gilmore Girls meets Virgin River. If you like small town meets big city romances, then this will be right up your alley. This book checked all the boxes for a romcom story so those who like a little romance mixed with some humor, some tears, but the certainty of a happy ending, pick up this book today!
This book was my very favourite Abby Jimenez book so far! I loved everything about it and that’s saying a lot. There are novels in the past that I thought Jimenez hit out of the park but this was everything to me! I loved that these characters came from very different areas but fell in love with each other’s world enough to break past their conflicts. I think I liked this so much because it’s so real…there are many relationships I have seen develop where the couple comes from very different locations and backgrounds and it’s part of what makes their romance so beautiful. I love that Jimenez will tackle the nitty gritty situations in real life and bring them to light in her writing. She handles her characters and readers with care while doing so. This was exquisite and if you have read Jimenez in the past and loved her I promise this will take you further than ever before. If you read her and didn’t like her stuff…please try this! I promise it is a gem! Lastly, if you have never read her…this is a great place to start and it will always hold a place on my shelf and in my heart!
Abby Jimenez delivers again with Part of Your World. It's giving strong mature woman meets yummy (and younger) bearded smalltown hunk. Throw in a baby goat in pajamas and you shouldn't need any more convincing. Get this book now. Oh, you need more? Fine. The dick pick scene! Omg I laughed so hard. It will live in your mind rent-free for a very long time. You will want to tell all your friends about that scene.
Plus you'll want to read this book before Abby's next book comes out which is the story of Bri- Alexis best friend that you'll be introduced to in this book. Once you start ready Abby's books, you're hooked for life. You're welcome.
Abby Jimenez does it again! I was able to read this book through NetGalley’s ARC. Like all Abby books, I read it in less than a day! Loved the story and the characters. I am a Day One OG Fan and Abby is literally my favorite author. My favorite thing is trying to find the Easter eggs and connections from the previous books. The connection on this one is awesome! I also loved the Grey’s and Disney references. Can’t wait for more from Abby!
This was yet another fun read from Abby Jimenez! I believe I devoured this book (I received an early eARC) over a weekend. PS check out the super cute baby goat on the cover 😍 It’s really not fair that a hot man also owns a baby goat, who can resist? Anywho go buy and read this romance when it comes out on 4/19!
I ended up reading this entire book in one day. It was meant to be my commute book this week but I couldn't stop reading it when I got off work on Monday.
Daniel is soooo sweet. As the town's last remaining Grant, Daniel acts as town mayor and watches over all of the residents. He treats Alexis (and everyone else) perfectly. Normally it bothers me when characters are *too* perfect but I absolutely loved him. Alexis, on the other hand, really had to grow on me. For a surprising majority of the book she witholds so much information from Daniel that I was honestly thinking he deserved better. Alexis is dealing with the longterm effects of emotional abuse though, and once I realized that her actions made a lot more sense.
Most of this book is about overcoming abuse and trying to choose yourself over others, but there is plenty of humor and lighthearted moments too. I really just loved everything about it and can't wait to read the rest of Abby Jimenez's books.
Are you looking to smile and then feel happy when you are finished with the book? Part of Your World delivers interesting characters and a great story. Abby Jimenez is a talented storyteller and I went out and read every other book that she has written after I finished this one.
I loved this fantastic book! It made me laugh. It made me cry. It made me swoon. Everything I want in a book!
Ohy have I not immediately binged all of the books Abby Jimenez writes? This is now the second of hers I've read and they've immediately soared to the top of the favourites lists. Especially considering some of my most trusted friends also tell me this, I still for whatever reason don't drop everything. This book has now changed that.
Part of Your World was absolute perfection. Is there a better book boyfriend out there other than Daniel? I doubt it. A lot of this book hit really close to home, so close that it felt like I could have written a lot of it myself (in much less eloquently, beautifully written words). I saw so much of my husband in Daniel, the raw and overwhelming love he has for Alexis and the heart of gold, do anything for his neighbours and loved ones attitude. I also saw a lot of myself in Alexis, trying to be strong and independant but knocked down by those closest to her. I loved the progression of her character in this book, how she learned to be her own person and stand up for herself. I absolutely adored how Jimenez handled different kinds of abuse in this book - without spoiling anything, I sincerely appreciated how she didn't discredit someone for enduring a different kind of abuse and made all forms equal.
One of my favourite reads of the year - you should probably go check it out.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. All opinions are my own!
This was a cute, fast-paced read. While a little unbelievable in parts, it still kept my attention and was a fun break from reality.
This was a great addition to the series and I really enjoy the emotional roller coaster that Abby Jimenez always takes me on!
Abby Jimenez can do no wrong. This book was another fantastic read. Each time I think her new book can't be beat and she proves that to not be the case.
This book was everything I want in a romance - high stakes, amazing chemistry, impossible odds, and the perfect HEA. Alexis and Daniel made such a wonderful couple, and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning! Each character had an individual journey in addition to their romantic journey, which is something I always appreciate in a romance. Add in a truly adorable dog, and I'm sold! Definitely recommend!
Abby Jimenez is back in Part of Your World with her signature romance style. This novel starts out with a sweet meet cute, when the protagonist finds herself with a broken car, stuck two hours from her home in a small rural forest town. Of course the man who comes to save her resembles an attractive lumberjack, and the two of them instantly hit it off. The enter a loose long distance relationship agreement, but both people realize the truly do come from different worlds. Alexis is a very successful doctor in a long line of a famous doctor lineage, while Daniel is as carpentry maker and runs the bed and breakfast in his small town. While they struggle to overcome the differences in their backgrounds, what they do know is that when they are together, it is magical.
This novel has a lot of fairy tale references and winks to Disney, which I picked up on immediately while reading. There is a trigger warning in this novel for domestic violence in several different forms, and I always think Abby Jimenez has a knack for incorporating these heavier real life topics into her novel in a way that feels authentic to the story and really adds valuable awareness. I don't know that it is the most impactful romance I've ever read, but I enjoy her novels and will continue reading them for sure!
Abby Jimenez writes a great rom-com. She incorporates real-life issues which truly add to the story and make it seem less "fluff." In Part of Your World, Alexis comes from a family of doctors. But they aren't just doctors. They are mega-rich donors who have been involved in a hospital for 125 years as doctors and the expectation is that the family will continue the legacy. Alexis's twin brother has found a woman (shout out to previous books) and moved to Cambodia with her, so the pressure is on Alexis.
On her way home from a family funeral, she swerves to miss a raccoon and her car goes off the road. Daniel finds her and tows her out. The insta-love story begins (ack). Daniel is a great guy from a small town. He's 10 years younger than Alexis and his entire apartment would fit in Alexis's bedroom. They come from different worlds and, yet, they still fall in love.
Alexis is dealing with an ex-boyfriend who was emotionally abusive, but her friends and family want her to get back together with him. She's used to men telling her what to do and it's hard to break that cycle. I understand what the author is trying to get at here, but for me, it was a bit of a hard sell. Alexis is a strong woman who has no idea of her wealth (as evidenced by her friends). All of a sudden, she's a changed person? She thinks it's normal to be nearly 40 and not be able to know how to peel a potato or sweep a floor?
I love Daniel and the town of Wakan but I think that he just fell for Alexis and she was selfish. I understand the cycle of abuse is hard to break but I wish she would have connected with her brother more. The book read well and I liked it, but parts of it were frustrating.
Thank you to Forever Publishing for my #gifted copy of Part Of Your World.
I already knew this before, but this one just reiterated the point for me... Abby Jimenez can do no wrong! I will read ANYTHING she publishes without even know what it's about. No question.
Part of Your World will be in my top 10 of 2022. I just loved it sooo so much. It has that curveball humor and tenderness that take a book to another level for me. Alexis has this a-hole of an Ex that does not get that they are done with a capital D. And an even worse father that is pushing her back to him. She is such a strong woman and her growth in the story was just beautiful. And Daniel. Sheeewww. He is everything I want in a main character. He is hard working, humble. has his own problems but you'd never know it from looking in, he treats everyone in his life like gold, and especially when it comes to Alexis... he really aims to please if you catch my drift.
This one is for your if you love:
-age gap romances
-opposites attract
-baby goats!!
-clever humor that is guaranteed to make you bust out laughing AND tenderness that breaks your heart
This was the perfect summer read. I loved the complex relationship and family dynamics. I love the small town closeness and personalities that we meet. Daniel and Alexis are so well formed and their romance is so perfect. They’re sweet, funny and passionate. I love how they both learn from each other and grow and come together in the end. A lovely and sweet read with heart.
I all read all of Abby Jimenez’s books. Somehow, she knows how to totally pull you into a love story. This book has everything: small town charm, down-to-earth male lead, forbidden love, family values, loving animals, dragonflies… and Nadia cakes!
I loved the improbable duo and although it was a bit predictable, I read the story in a day! It was a great vacation day and I recommend as a beach read!
I will without a doubt continue reading Jimenez novels as she has a way to my heart!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me a complimentary e-arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
