Must-read for Bridgerton fans! I loved it! Lady Whistledown is one of the best fictional characters ever created, in my opinion, and I love the way she "guides" readers through this beloved collection of quotes and memorable moments.
This book was everything I wanted it to be. It had me turned pages without even realizing. It was so good!
There's nothing new in this book. Just favorite quotes from our characters we have grown to love.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC. This would probably be a good gift for the Bridgerton fan.
The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is not meant for the fan of the Netflix show, but it is for fans of the book series and for people who have read all of them. Its more like a pocket guide of quotes about the characters from their family members as well as a fun new intro to each from Whistledown. It is a cute little book and a fun gift for fans.
This book has everything: Bridgerton, Lady Whistledown, and JULIA QUINN! What a beautiful book to have in my multiple Bridgerton collections with the wisdom only Lady W can provide!
This is a cute collection of various memorable quotes and scenes from the various books the make up the Bridgerton series. It was an interesting read to see just little snippets from each book. I enjoyed this, though I definitely am looking forward to reading all of the books individually.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC. Our library will not be purchasing it but this would probably be a good gift for the Bridgerton fan.

This was a fun little visit with the Bridgerton family and Lady Whistledown. It is a collection of stories featuring each of the children of the family. Each story stems from a quote and it was fun to revisit the times in the books I really enjoyed. Recommended for fans of the series.

What a fun read. The book is filled with wonderfully delightful quotes from each character and even what other characters had to say about them.
This is a great companion book to the series.
I will say it is hard to say much about this book because it is not a novel. It is a mix of each book in the series. But if you are a fan of the series via books or NetFlix this is a must have.
Personal Note: I can’t even tell you how many shirts I want to have made with some of these quotes!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and the author for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.
I know, I know, I know, the synopsis SAID it was a collection of quotes. I knew it was, when I requested it, and I knew it was, when I started it. But as sweet as it was to relieve some of my favorite moments about characters I remember fondly, it was a little boring to read through, novel-style. Hence why it took me a whole week to finish it even though it's not exactly a long book. I think I was really hoping for a few NEW gems, little anecdotes or witty words, but nope.
If you're a Bridgerton (books or TV series, although TV series watchers will find PLENTY of spoilers here) superfan, this is definitely worth picking up and wallowing in the Bridgerton world just a little longer. But do yourself a favor, and read a little at a time instead of trying to gulp it all down at once.
The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton - Lady Whistledown's Official Guide by Julia Quinn is a delightful reminder of why I love her historical romance series The Bridgertons so darn much! I need to break out my audiobooks and take a trip down memory lane with the entire cast from beginning to end.
Lady Whistledown, author of the gossip sheet Society Papers, is our guide to all the members of the Bridgerton family. Each chapter highlights a different character. This includes a new introduction by Lady Whistledown herself, quotes from the character and comments other characters made about them during the course of the series. It's a reminder of all the familial love and affection, romances and wit that I came to love.
It took me a bit to get into the rhythm of the layout of each chapter. Reading about the first few characters was a bit confusing, and I had to do a bit re-reading. But once I got the hang of it I was in Bridgerton heaven! The most heartwarming chapter concerns Violet, the matriarch of the family; she was the glue that held them all together. Other favorite characters of mine included Colin, Gregory and Hyacinth. One thing I absolutely loved in the series, and was reminded of here, was the family's brutality in playing Pall Mall. It always made me laugh, especially the Mallet of Death! The author made mention of the Netflix series The Bridgertons, but that's not something I'm interested in. I'm a purist. I want to see the characters in my mind the way I pictured them through reading. As we all know, the book is ALWAYS better. This book is a charming companion to one of the best series of all time. If you're a fan, you will just adore it.
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This one is strictly for the die hard fans, like having a special treat. Having all of the favorites scenes compiled into one book. So no really new content. I just love reading Lady Whistledown snippets. I really love this cover!
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Perfect for fans of the Bridgerton series. I really enjoyed the intros from Whistledown. It was fun to get some new insight into the characters we love.
What a wonderful trip back into the world of Bridgerton and into the familiar characters we have all grown to know and love throughout the entirety of the Bridgerton book series. For those who are looking for a dive into the Bridgerton Netflix series, this is not it. This is solely focused upon the book series.
Lady Whistledown is our guide back into the depths of the world and brings us a new article of insight for each character. I loved going back and seeing the quotes from each book about the characters and remembering what I loved so much about them and the Bridgerton family members. I loved seeing what quotes were picked out for my favorite characters and my favorite book (When He was Wicked).
I just loved the aesthetic of this book and the warmth it brings back to think of the cozy knit Bridgerton family of children and the bonds they form within their world.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Avon & Harper Voyager for an ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.

The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is an interesting book, and one I wasn’t sure about until actually reading it. I mean, the books exist, so even if this is being published to cash in on the show’s popularity, why do so while adding very little that’s new? But given the discussions around the problematic content in the books (especially The Duke and I) that has not aged well, I’ve found that this actually makes for a great book for someone who liked the show, but may be somewhat apprehensive about the books, due to concerns about the sensitive content.. And for older fans, it’s a great compendium of both the humorous and insightful moments that center each of our favorite characters.
I love that it’s split into sections highlighting each family member, giving us an intro from Lady Whistledown’s POV, which doubles as a new excerpt from her column, in addition to what we’ve read in the books. From Anthony being now remarked on as “boring” in his wedded bliss to a remark of Lady Bridgerton anticipating disaster when Hyacinth debuted, I loved these bonus snippets into their lives, in addition to a collection of their best moments across the eight books. I also appreciated that Lady Danbury got her due, getting her own chapter alongside Violet and the Bridgerton siblings, and reminding me that she’s always been my favorite character.
I was a bit disappointed in a few areas however. While the Violet chapter contains many moments in her life as a mother, I was dismayed that nothing from the criminally underrated Violet in Bloom made it in. I mean, Colin’s got an excerpt from First Comes Scandal, so prequels and companion works are clearly fair game (I will admit that that moment is incredibly quotable, but that’s beside the point). And despite being based on the complete series, and many of the quotes for all the characters being very “spoiler-y” (in a matter of speaking), I was a tad annoyed that the only significant others featured were the ones relevant to the show up to this point. Simon was the hero of season one, so he’s in, and Penelope is another main character, so featuring her is also obvious. And they’re obviously teasing season two with the inclusion of Kate. But what about Sophie, Michael, Philip, etc.? Philip also appeared in season one, although his character is connected to a character arc that has drawn a lot of concern about the direction they’re headed in, given their fate in the books, so perhaps that was at least partially the rationale behind his exclusion?
This is a fun compilation of both the heartwarming and hilarious moments across all the Bridgerton books. Whether you’re a fan of the books or the show, or both, you’ll definitely enjoy this.
This was a fun immersion into all things Bridgerton and I loved every bit of it!
While this does not have any new content, other than a bit from Lady Whistledown, it has so many moments of goodness that make up each book and thereby, the whole series. Each chapter covers a different character and within are quotes that paint a perfect picture of that character. From the deepest heartfelt moments, to those that had me laughing again as it reminded me of all the humor this series contains.
This is definitely for those who have already read and loved the books. Any fan will enjoy this but the formatting for the printed book is exquisite and definitely something a hard core fan would love to have on their shelf. I’m totally in book envy at just the thought!
But what really has me cheering for this book is the way it thrust me back into the joy that is the Bridgertons and thereby making me fall in love with them all over again.
A must have for die hard fans of Bridgerton. The book highlight quotes, wit, and wisdom ( as the title indicates) from various characters in the Bridgerton series. A fun addition and a great way to have some favorites in one volume.
The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is a fun companion to the novels. This isn't a new story, but an organized collection of quotes from the books from and about each character.
I only picked up the series for the first time last year and it was fun revisiting favorite moments that made me smile, laugh, and entertained me as I read. You can read it straight through as I did, but you definitely want to have read the series first. I can also see just jumping into a section on a favorite character and reading a little bit here or there.
If it's been awhile since you've read the Bridgertons series this will make you want to read them all over again!
The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is a fun treat for fans of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series. It’s a compendium of quotes from the series spotlighting each of the eight Bridgerton siblings plus Kate, Penelope, Simon, Violet, and Lady Danbury. I loved the collection of quotes from the books and was interested to see what Quinn would pick out to highlight each character. Each character is introduced with a new column by Lady Whistledown, but aside from that the text is all pulled from the Bridgerton series (plus one Rokesby book).
If you’re looking for some insight into Bridgerton the show on Netflix, this is not that. Aside from Quinn’s introduction, The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton is entirely focused on the books themselves. If you haven’t read the series I don’t think this collection will have the impact for you that it did for me (especially as you get farther down the Bridgerton sibling line to characters who are not heavily featured in season one of the television show). I delighted in revisiting my favorite characters in this format and I highly recommend this for anyone who loves the books and wants to have a collection of quotes to simply pick out and enjoy whenever the mood strikes. The Wit and Wisdom of Bridgerton serves as a lovely reminder of all the things I love about the Bridgertons, their relationships (romantic and familial), and Quinn’s sparkling prose.
A beautifully designed collection of quotes from Bridgerton. Fans of the show will likely enjoy it, but I think the ideal reader for this book is someone who has read the series and can reminisce without risk of spoilers.
