Retired Navy Seal Greg Harrison had to the Seals because of an injury. After wondering he found a job with a security firm and is now working with Mattie and her daughter. Mattie is having problems at the museum with what she believes is a ghost, but after kissing Greg she is now having feelings for him as well, she is wondering about him. He just wants to focus on his job and is having problems with that because he can’t get her out of his mind. Hence the story takes different turns but is still good.
This was a fun and quick read. Greg and Mattie have a lot of chemistry. I liked the overall story and character development.
Thank you Netgalley and Leslie North for giving the chance to review Seal's Purpose in exchange for my honest review. I've read a few of Leslie North's books and this one I didn't enjoy. I'm giving the book 2 stars.
Again i had high hopes and was unfortunately left lacking, i had difficulty connecting to the characters and the plot. But just because i didn't enjoy it doesn't mean someone else won't
After a career-ending injury, former Navy SEAL Greg Harrison struggles to find his place in society. When his friend offers him a job working private security, he’s uninspired—until he meets his first clients. Mattie Salisbury and her cute daughter, Liza, immediately strike a chord with the tough SEAL, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect them.
It has nothing to do with the fact Mattie is gorgeous—she needs help, that’s all. The museum she works for is supposedly haunted, and it’s ruining business. Greg is determined to keep things professional—that is, until Mattie tries to kiss him…
What a huge mistake—Mattie must have misread Greg’s signals because when she tries to kiss the hottest man she’s ever seen, it doesn’t go well. At all. But when Greg kisses her, only to apologize for his behavior, she can’t deny there’s an irresistible attraction. But neither of them needs the distraction while trying to solve the mystery of a volatile “ghost”. If only they could keep their hands off each other…
Maybe it’s time to take a chance.
2nd book in the series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Single mom Matty who works for the museum which is supposedly haunted, looks into hiring team oracle security and ex navy seal Greg is there to help. He just ended his job and long term relationship, but Matty and her daughter Liza has worked their way into his mind and heart.
This one wasn’t one of my favorite of her books, but still a good addition to the series.
I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book
Another well-written, entertaining read by Ms. North. This is the second installment of the Team Oracle Security series. The story focuses on Greg and Mattie. They are working together to find the person responsible breaking into their small town museum and vandalizing it. As they work together, they begin to feel more for each other. Mattie is a single mother and is very attracted to Greg. But Greg is a wounded warrior and recently ended his long time relationship. He's not ready for a new one. The story gets interesting as they work together to solve the mystery. These two characters worked really well together and had amazing chemistry. Enjoyed the book and look forward to the next one.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
3/5 stars!
After the hero gained a career-ending injury, he retired from the military and tried to find his place as a citizen. When his friend offered him a job, he took that chance and his first assignment is to protect the heroine and her daughter from danger. Their first meeting led to instant attraction. What will happen as the couple navigate professional and personal boundaries in this book?
This is the second book in the Team Oracle Security trilogy by Leslie North. It's a solid addition to the series but not my favorite thus far. I didn't connect to the couple that much and found that the hints thrown in the story was not caught earlier. Also sorta annoyed with the hero a bit until his growth in the story. I did enjoy the mystery aspect of the book and the daughter is also a likable secondary character. Overall, it's a nice Leslie North book.
**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and thoughts in the review are my own.**
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. This one took by surprise! Leslie North is one of my favorites.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Mattie and Greg. Mattie runs a museum and Greg is a security expert. Mattie has some trouble at her museum, a fire, a chandelier falling, and many other things. Greg is hired by Mattie to figure out who is pretending to be a ghost and trying to shut the museum down. There is a mutual attraction between Mattie and Greg and during this time it grows. They finally figure out who is behind all the troubles. They find true love.
Gotta love the whole Seal to the rescue read.
I loved that our named hero Greg was insecure, wholesome and not an alpha male.
Greg and Mattie meet when the museum needs a protector. The sparks fly from day one and neither know which way to look; until they’re in bed together making fireworks go off.
The storyline was predictable, but an absolute joy to read still.
I look forward to reading the next book
A sweet, enjoyable story about finding new goals in life when faced with adversity, “SEAL’s Purpose”, by Leslie North (Relay Publishing), features a former SEAL who is unexpectedly anti-Alpha and shows an often refreshing level of insecurity.
I liked that the hero, Greg, has doubts and feels insecure about his options in a phase of transition; by emphasizing this side of his personality the author makes him human and real. And it’s so unusual to have a former Navy SEAL hero with really strong Beta tendencies.
I also liked how the author explained Greg’s changes and coping strategies after his injury.
Sometimes the level of Greg’s indecision affected doing his job competently and in this case it became a bit annoying.
The romance involving two endearing characters was sweet but moved too fast for my taste. The heroine’s daughter was cute but sometimes talked like an older child.
The suspense part has a cozy, small-town vibration and weaknesses related to it: both main characters showed sometimes a lack of smartness and plain common sense.
I felt that some wording (adorkable, hot stud, bad guy) would be more appropriate in a meta-story context than used by the characters.
Another brilliant read by Leslie North. Quickly becoming one of my favourite authors for a steamy romance story. As usual, loved the characters and the story line.
Thank to netgalley for giving me a eARC in exchange for a honest review.
This is a easy and quick read. Nice bodyguard to love romance story. How does not love a military man. I have not read the first book but that is not a problem. If you are in the mood for a sweet, fluffy and mystery romantic this is the book for you
This is a mystery and romance all in one. There are several twists that I didn't see coming, which I always enjoy. The characters are lively and funny and it was fun to get swept up in their story. A very fun read!
Complementary copy given for my honest review and opinion. Suspenseful and full of romance with some insecurities on both parts come together to create this great romance.
Ahh with this book I realized that I did not have an problem with the author, but that the series I started with was not for me. I love me an personal guard that is around pretty much 24/7. I also really liked that there was a mystery to the book, but was kind of irritating how I guessed who was behind the mystery pretty early on.
I liked how the conflict was not dragged out but was fixed pretty fast

SEAL's Purpose by Leslie North is a second instalment in Team Oracle Security series but can be easily read as a stand alone.
Our heroine is Matty Salisbury, a single mom who works at a small private museum which is (supposedly) haunted by a ghost. The occurrence of ghostly activities leads to Matty hiring a private security firm which sends her a former Navy SEAL Greg Harrison - our alpha man. Greg, due to his injuries, recently lost his job as a SEAL and ended a long term relationship. So when he takes a chance to work in his friend's team he doesn't know what to expect, but it surely is not Matty and her adorable daughter Liza.
I went into this story with exicatmanet - I felt like reading a romance and what better than one with an ex seal, single mom and a mystery in a museum. Well to say I am disappointed with the outcome is to put it lightly.
There were a lot of 4 and 5 stars reviews here and on Goodreads and I am wondering if we all read the same book because for the love of books I can't imagine giving this story that many stars.
The writing (which was rather told and not felt, basically for the majority of the story) felt flat and the times of repeated things happened way too many times. The characters were okay, I loved Liza (Matty's daughter) but the chemistry between Matty and Greg wasn't delivered properly and therefore wasn't enjoyable for me. The sex scenes were short and awkwardly written so they could easily be skipped (in my opinion). The mystery isn't really a mystery and you can guess who the ghost is from the first mention of the character.

Seal's purpose by Leslie North.
Team oracle security book 2.
A museum mystery might be the perfect way for this former Navy SEAL and single mom to succumb to their desires…
A brilliant read. Read in one sitting. Brilliant story and characters. Apart from Carter who I didn't trust at all. I loved the cover too. 5*.
