Some books by Jennifer Probst have been hit or miss for me. Meant to Be was a hit! Fantastic plot development and charming characters. I wasn't at all bored and quickly read this up. Wonderful.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm a huge Jennifer Probst fan but this book was hard for me to get through.
There was sososososos much introspection from the hero and heroine that at times I had to put the book down because it was just too much angst about their relationship.
Also, even though Quench was such a huge part of Chiara's life, I felt there was a lot of story exposition devoted to it that could have been edited out.
:Like all Probst stories, this one had a couple who are destined to be together no matter what, and even though the oopsie baby trope was a bit hard for me to take with these two, it served the story's purpose in bringing them together.
All in all, not my fav, but a good story nonetheless from an amazing writer.
Great romance about second chances and fate. Great dialogue and interesting characters a great read.
This book was hard for me to read. I typically like juicy romantic books like this every once in a while but it was so "right leaning" to me that I couldnt see past it.
Since this is an advanced reading copy I wont post little glimpses of what I mean, but there are some situations and phrases that just were incorrect or simply ignored.
If there werent so many controversial topics that were skimmed over I would have enjoyed this book.
Omg, I just love Jennifer Probsts' books.
This one was such a lovely read. I love the main characters. And I can smell there is a new series. I can wait to read the rest books.
I don't want to reval anything, but this one was the second chance love, and I am all for it.
It really is the sweet read.
For me this is a 4.5 stars read.
Jennifer Probst brings us the story of Chiara and Sebastian. They meet one night at a bar and spend the night just talking and enjoying each other's company. At the end of the night, they part ways and never see each other again. That is until Chiara meets Sebastian again, but he is now her best friend Rory's boyfriend. She pretends to meet him for the first time setting a precedence for their future. Fast forward years later when Chiara and her friends are at Rory's funeral. A drunken night leads them to a possible second chance only if they deal with the past. Will they be able to put past fears to rest, or will they allow the past to destroy their future?
Jennifer Probst brings us the story of four very different women who came together and created a successful company. We start with Chiara's story. I look forward to seeing where life will take the other women as she continues with this series. It will also be nice to visit with the other characters we meet each time we go back.
I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for this privilege.
This is a promising start to a new series. Poignant, with the main characters navigating grief and learning to accept their feelings for each other. Strong female friendships and great secondary characters. Some moments hit me right in the feels. I enjoyed it very much!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the review copy. All opinions are my own.
