'Damaged Intentions' is the second book featuring Omer's character, Abby Mullen. That being said, the author does a good job providing the context of the first book as it relates to this story. I will still be searching out 'A Deadly Influence' and am anticipating any future works by this author.

The story is suspenseful from the first chapter and drives the reader forward with the desire to know what happens next. I wasn't sure how the events of Abby's past were going to impact the story line of 'Damaged Intentions.' In my opinion, Abby's past was used to set the scene for a third book, which works, but could have been left out. The story was intriguing on its own and I was immersed in it from start to end.

What stuck with me most form this novel was the author's commentary on social media and a person's need to see patterns or conspiracies where they usually don't exist. The activities and thoughts of The Watchers are all too relevant in our pandemic world and frighteningly accurate.

Overall, I would recommend this book to fans of the suspense and thriller genre. I typically don't read from this realm of fiction as I have a hard time with suspenseful scenes and situations. I did enjoy Omer's writing and the story progressed at a pace that kept me reading for more.

As soon as the first book finished I went searching for a second book, and I was so glad that there was a book in the wings - at the time there was no title and no cover on Goodreads. I patiently waited and then sure enough a title popped up and a cover.... I got more excited. What I wasn't excited about was waiting until March 2022, however I know that great books take time so I set in for the long haul.

So then you can imagine my excitement when I find this advanced copy on NetGalley and get approved for this book I have been impatiently waiting for. I was not disappointed in the slightest. WOW what an amazing follow up. Abbey Mullen NYPD Lieutenant Hostage Negotiator is back and action packed drama is about to land in her lap in a huge way.

There are bad guys and gals galore in this book and Abbey and her kids are in for a super rough ride, there were moments there I totally thought I would actually chew my fingers off. I started and finished this book in under 24hours and I regret nothing!!!! THAT ENDING!!! I will say nothing to anyone about the ending because if I spoilt it not one reader would forgive me... ever!

All the characters are there - but the story centres around a group of weirdos who call themselves the Watchers and a hostage situation that goes from bad to worse to the absolute worst in so many ways, oh and wait Sam (Abbey's daughter is caught up in it). It was very stressful but I couldn't stop reading.

I loved the writing, I loved the story, I loved the twists, I loved it all. Bring on more of these books.

I love A Deadly Influence by Omer so when unseen book two..... Yes! Yes! Yes! I requested!

Well-written, suspenseful, and ultimately very satisfying, powerful characters and story telling, including terrifying descriptions!
The story was full of heart stopping moment that will get your heart racing. An absolutely amazing read that yet again pushed the genre of thriller from amazing to extraordinary!
The action here is fun, exciting and very entertaining!
The way Mike Omer can write and make hang onto his every word is very phenomenal and deserves a five star in my book!
