There is just something about hockey romances that just really have me delusional in thinking I can change a player of a man and make him fall in love with me. Me being delusional aside, I loved this. I am clearly in my hockey romance era and Raine Thomas is now going to be an author that I turn to whenever I need to read absolutely smutty romance perfection.

Hockey = check
Romance = check
perfect book to read when it has both of these in it. loved!
I really enjoyed this romance, it is a sports romance and while there are scenes on the ice and the sport is mentioned, the key part of the story is the romance itself. Both Roxy and Callan are reluctant to become too committed, to begin with, but they seem unable to resist spending time together and it's not long before they are developing feelings for one another.
Do I ever love me a hockey romance and this was no exception! Roxy was a fantastic character, loved her right away and her character development made me love her even more. Callan and Roxy's relationship was so fun to follow along with too, The pacing was a little bit more of a slow burn than I like my romances to be but I was so invested in the relationship that I didn't mind one bit. Great read!
A Heart So Wild - Raine Thomas
Atlanta Siege Hockey Romance, book one
Ooooooh! This was great! I couldn’t put it down.
Thank you to @netgalley and Lambe books for the #eARC
It was so cute.
I loved how sassy and confident Roxy was but as her character develops we see past the guard and into her soul.
Callan/Murph seemed to be so into a relationship from the offset. I wasn’t really taken in by his ‘playboy’ persona.
The book is hot, steamy and wonderful

3.5/5 STARS
I loved Roxy! The portrayal of her body- an average sized woman was EVERYTHING!!
I loved her character so much. I really didn't know if I was going to like Callahan but I do. I really really do!! He did everything in his power to see Roxy again and I loved it !
Although there were times when I felt a bit thrown off at the pacing of the book, but overall I loved it.

4.5-stars for A Heart So Wild
I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did; it's a well written slow burn, contemporary romance. For most of the book, I wouldn't have even said that I would consider it sports romance since 85% of the book is written in the off-season. Callen & Roxy's eyes met across the club and their chemistry and connection was instantaneous and felt by both of them. I loved Callen's character, but Roxy's character, not so much! She was self-centered and selfish but Called, while he was a player / playboy, he definitely proved to be an amazing boyfriend (and book boyfriend material). Callen's small gestures and the sweet, thoughtful surprise gifts he planned for Roxy to try to win her over, so swoonworthy! Definitely recommend A Heart So Wild! Is it February yet, because I can't wait to read Christian's story, A Heart So Familiar, book 2 in The Atlanta Siege series.
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited, voluntary opinion with this review.
enjoyable read! Callan's relationships with his friends and teammates are fun and funny and it's nice to see how he grows and develops across through the story. Roxy is also a fun character--she's got lots of grit and determination and it's easy to cheer for her success.
Hockey, steam, and character growth. Those things add up to a perfect romance.
The infectious dialogue and likeable characters made this romance so enjoyable.

This was one of those cases where the plot sounded and was good but it developed so slowly (really I like slow burn but this one was too much) that it lost me at times.
I liked both our main characters and they had good chemistry but the pacing didn't let me enjoy this book as much as I wanted to.
Still, this was a good fun read.

This was a good and quick read. I enjoyed the dual main character POV between chapters and how well they transitioned. The slow burn to get to Roxy and Callan getting together was well written. The inclusion of Javy and Christian injected the perfect amount of ribbing and humor while still providing movement in the story. My favorite parts were towards the end (trying to not give anything away) when the sentimental things were talked about....definitey had this sap tearing up.
Raine Thomas melts the ice with A HEART SO WILD (Atlanta Siege Hockey Romance #1). Callan Murphy is a left winger for the NHL’s newest expansion team, the Atlanta Siege. While being the wingman for his goalie, he meets Roxy Wagner. Roxy is the first woman who has held Callan’s attention. Neither one wants any distractions, but Callan decides to make an exception for Roxy and decides to pursue her.
A HEART SO WILD is an entertaining read. Roxy and Callan face some compelling obstacles in this story. Callan needs to clean up his playboy image, and he wants to focus on becoming a better hockey player. Roxy is staring a career in real estate and has some financial troubles. The real estate aspect of the story was interesting. Roxy had a lot of appealing ideas.
The characters are likable and fun. They do a lot of soul-searching and evolve throughout the story. I like that Callen becomes involved with the Center for Boys and Girls and mentors Rashied. He was an entertaining addition to the story. A HEART SO WILD is a solid start to the Atlanta Siege Hockey Romance series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Callum, professional hockey player and all around ladies man, takes his star goalie, Christian out clubbing one night with one goal in mind: find Christian a one night stand. Roxy and Allison head out to the same club, but Roxy is the wing woman for Allison. Roxy and Callum do their jobs well, sending Allison and Christian off together, but realize they might have a little spark themselves. Deciding she doesn’t have time or need for a player like Callum, Roxy heads home for the evening, but can’t get him out of her mind. Callum has the same problem and decides he needs to change her mind and make Roxy his girl.
I found the slow burning A Heart So Wild very refreshing in that they didn’t fall madly in love in chapter one, but it took time to develop and realize their love for each other. Callum and Roxy are both so against a commitment but soon admit exactly what they want from life to each other and themselves, even if it’s not the norm or expected. With their hot chemistry and mature outlooks, I couldn’t help but cheer them on, hoping for a happily ever after.
Roxy is a great main character, at 28 and a curvy 5'10 she is confident with how she looks, and then it never comes up again! Love it. Her size/height/whatever, just isn't relevant to the story - a sign of true comfort and confidence.
The plotting is where this story lost me. Callan and Roxy are both trying to set their friends up when they hit it off together. After hooking up together, Roxy remembers she's on a no dating break which causes Callan to craft a lie about wanting to hire her as a real estate agent to continue to see her. This is a good outline, but the pacing was off. The slow burn portion of this book is very slow with little else going on in the story, at some points we were just house shopping in what felt like real time. After the slow burn there is a hot and cold drama filled romance that takes place in a very short time frame considering we are not dealing with teenagers here.
Took me a while to get through this book, partly because it seemed long and partly because it was just an ok read. There were some nice lines and moments that I appreciated -- helping to elevate some parts to a more mature level -- but then the rest of it just didn't really impact or get me emotionally impacted.
This first novel in a new hockey romance series is a really enjoyable read that had me never wanting to put it down. I love the dynamic between not only Callan and Roxy, but between them and their group of friends. The strong friendship bonds within this novel were really well done. The author created a wonderful bond between Callan and his teammates that made them all seem more like brothers than just team mates. His home life growing up hadn't always been good besides with his grandfather. He found a family with his hockey team, and seeing how tightly knit they were was really precious.
Callan and Roxy never expected for their connection to ever happen, especially not when they were merely being a wing man and a wing woman to different people on the same night. They are both very driven people, and throughout out the novel they are not only growing their relationship, but they are working towards goals they have set for themselves with their careers.
I never could get enough of these two characters, and it was really great to read their journey together and how they grew as people both together as a couple and separately as themselves. They were very relatable, and genuinely interesting to read about.
I truly can't wait to read more of this series, and to possibly see these characters again but as secondary characters in the rest of the series. I don't want to say good bye to theses characters at all.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I NEED MORE!!! I absolutely loved the build up between Roxy and Callan. Started out fast burn then went into a slow burn. Callan truly finds himself at the end. While Roxy thought she always knew herself but yet finds a completely different person she didn’t know she had within herself. They both bring out the best in each other. I honestly wished G-Man could’ve met Roxy in the end. I loved how Raine Thomas included him in ending!
This was a cute fairly quick read! I enjoyed both of the development of the main character throughout the story. Roxie's relationship with her family was such a nice part of the book and she just felt like a realistic main character overall. I did find parts of the books slightly undeveloped and like there was a bigger world of a series that I was missing so I might need to catch up on the author's other books. There was a lot of setup of characters that will hopefully be seen later in the series!
Thank you too Iambe Books and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
A great hockey romance!
Callan and Roxy are just so perfect for each other and the chemistry between them is off the charts. The storyline is really good and I enjoyed the banter between the characters. Roxy is a strong female trying to support herself without the help of her close family. Callan really grew throughout the book … from a self-centred playboy to a responsible giving man. This is the first book I have read from this author … and it won’t be my last. A great start to a new series!

A Heart So Wild the first in a new hockey romance series by Raine Thomas, who is a new author to me.
I am a sucker for a good sports romance, so I was excited for this one and really enjoyed it.
Callan is a talented hockey player trying to rehab his image after the death of his grandfather. Roxy is a down on her luck real estate agent who has trouble accepting help. Both Roxy and Callan are reluctant to become too committed, to begin with, but they seem unable to resist spending time together and it's not long before they are developing feelings for one another.
Roxy and Callan make a great couple, there are a few misunderstandings to get through first, but let's face it, you expect that in romances, but they work really well together as a couple.
I look forward to more from this series and this author.
