This book is dual, first person POV. It's cute. It's sweet. But it just missed the mark for me. The overall plot is great and works really well: Billionaire needs a personal shopper for Christmas. Girl needs money. Billionaire then learns he needs to have a serious girlfriend to take over his company so fake dates the personal shopper. I wanted a little bit more in almost every area: chemistry between the two, tension, flirting... I didn't like the epilogue. It was very info dumpy, first off, but I also hated how much the authors were trying to fit into it. This book was just okay for me. I skipped ahead at one point and probably won't be going back to read through what I missed.

I love contemporary romance novels and I will watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year long, so reading a holiday romance is basically my favorite pastime. I was excited to read this purely for the Christmas romance vibes. I previously read a couple of books in this series and they were okay, so my expectations weren't high. But this book was not great. The drama felt like it could have worked in a high school setting, but it was a bit much for the plot that the authors were trying for; characterizations were at odds with how the characters actually acted, and the characters felt young and immature to me. The plot itself was fine overall, and I think I would have enjoyed it more if some of the other elements had been better. Overall, it was a quick read but it just felt too unrealistic and immature for me.

Read an ARC.

This book alternates point-of-view between the two primary characters. The first two chapters set it up quite nicely with amusing parallels between their conversations with different people.

The premise is pretty straightforward, Holly's friend gets her a personal shopping gig for the career obsessed Archie. There are definitely hints of Pretty Woman at times but most of the events through the book are plausible.

A couple of lesser developed side characters, I kind of wanted more Faith beyond the quippy child trope and more from his family beyond stodgy rich people vibes.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a standalone holiday whirlwind book that you cannot put down.

Holly is a poor single mom (aunt) to a precocious little girl, who winds up being given the opportunity to be a personal gift shopper for a billionaire, Archie, who needs Christmas gifts to impress his godfather.

There were moments of this that felt rom com, and then moments that were very Hallmark Channel holiday romance. I am personally a big fan of the former, but less-so the latter (the formula and contrivences aren't my thing). Ultimately, this leaned more Hallmark (I mean, her name is unironically Holly Snow), but had some great moments.

I honestly got a little misty-eyed at several moments with Faith, Holly's niece. She was a bit too precocious at times for 5 years old, but the relationship between her and Archie was just really, very sweet. I also loved how Archie took care of people he cared about, and wasn't ever actually a Scrooge at all.

This was a fun, sweet, holiday story, that was also a quick read, and well-written. If you're a big fan of Hallmark movies, you will absolutely love this.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! Grumpy x Sunshine is my favourite trope of all time. Add in a quirky child to the mix? I'm sold. The whole book was witty, fun and made my heart melt.
Thanks to netgalley, the authors and the publishers for granting me the e-ARC. :)

I loved this. I hadn’t really enjoyed one of the pairs earlier texting books but this one had me snort-laughing throughout. Will definitely check out their other works!

I love this series so much. I still need to read the first couple books. All the books are so fun and sweet and this one definitely didn't disappoint.

This was definitely an opposites attract and a little grumpy/sunshine which is honestly one of my fav tropes of all! And throw in the cutest kid and my heart melted.

Part of me thought the relationship progressed too fast, but they did kind of say it was insta love later. Archie's personality almost changes over night after realizing what he was missing.

And I loved Holly. She was so strong that you were completely rooting for her the whole time!

We are getting in the Christmas season for books now and though I'd like to enjoy fall,. I am super excited!

A great festive read!

Holly is struggling to make ends meet, so when she has the chance to make some extra money as a personal shopper she takes it, even though she's not done it before.
Archie is a workaholic who wants the top role at work, so when he finds that a family man is preferred for the role, he convinces Holly to play his girlfriend at a family gathering. Will it backfire on him?

Like how this is told from both points of view, and love the character of Faith!

This is a sweet and fun story but the best part of it is the easy banter between Holly and Archie. She’s struggling financially when a friend recommends Holly to her Scrooge-like boss as a personal shopper. The MCs are likeable, BFF Toni is perfect as a snarky foil and even Faith, Holly’s niece, is a great character. A lot of authors put children in their stories but can’t write them properly, but Faith is perfect here. This is an opposites attract slow burn with a holiday HEA that’s worth every minute.

Delightful Christmas book to read by a cozy fire! I really enjoyed the characters and I absolutely LOVED Faith (the little girl in this book). She is a funny kid!

I received an advance copy of, Mistle Text: 'Twas the Text Before Christmas...by Whitney Dineen & Melanie Summers. I thought this book would be really good, and it was not. I really wanted to like it but I did not. The characters were bland and I did not like the language.

The fake dating trope is one of my top 10 and this did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the first half of this book more than the second half. Holly's dedication to Faith and her mother really pulled at my heart strings. Our workaholic Archie is very likable and I love how sweet he was to Faith but he was no match for Toni. All these characters were well developed and the romance was was cute. Definitely worth a read.

The book was absolutely delightful and it put me in a festive mood (luckily, it's only about 100 days left until Christmas!).

Holly is sweet, honest, and generous, but her life is quite hard. Determined to be the best aunt/legal guardian for her five-year-old niece Faith who lost both of her parents in an accident, Holly puts her dreams on hold and works three jobs to make sure Faith has everything she needs. Still, there's no hiding the fact that they arejust making the endsmeet. So, when her best friend Toni, a personal assistant of a workaholic bussinessman Archibald Harrington, hears that her boss needs a personal shopper to find 'thoughtful' Christmas presents for his family and acquaintances, Toni suggests Holly. After all, how hard can it be to splash a bit of cash on fabulous gifts and in return make sure Faith's school fees are paid for three months in advance? It's just that Holly knows nothing at allabout Archie's family and therefore needs his advice. A few texts now and again won't hurt, will they?As it turns out, Archie may need a bit more help from Holly-a fake date for a holiday with Archie's family.

I loved all the characters in this Christmas tale- especially, Faith who was just adorable, Archie, who, despite his grumpy reputation, is a decent guy, and, of course, Holly. There are lots of fascinating secondary characters that add more colour and humour to this classic Hallmark love story.

This was my first book from this writing duo and I can't wait to read the previous stories in this series.

This book was so cute! I loved everything from Archie’s relationship with faith to his with Holly. I even loved how protective Toni was. Each character felt like they had genuine development and that they truly felt for each other. Faith brought a fresh aspect to this romance. I’d highly recommend this one!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this cute, holiday romance. I've never read either of the authors before. This book was well enough written that I was invested in the story from start to finish. I thought the hero and heroine had solid character growth and there was good conflict. I was rooting for the hero and heroine to get their happily ever after from page one. I can't wait to read other books by these authors. Huge thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

Holly's love for her niece, Faith, is truly wonderful. It's heartwarming how much she would do for Faith, including putting her dream career on pause.

Holly is definitely a lover of the spirit of Christmas and it almost seems to be more so with her niece in the picture to make it special for her. When she is struggling with funds and is given the opportunity to be a personal shopper for Archibald, who doesn't have the time or enthusiasm to Christmas shop himself. The element of Holly reaching out to understand the people he is gift giving to, and his scrooge like manner reminds me a lot of one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies.

There is so much more to the story and characters than meets the eye, and every single page had me hooked. The more time Archibald and Holly spend talking and being around each other the more something grows between them until neither of them can deny it. I adored the festiveness within this story, and it's already gotten me even more into the approaching holiday season.

Thank you NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for the ARC of this novel.

Holly was afraid she was getting in over her head when she accepted a position working for Archie but she had no idea that her gig as a personal shopper for the holidays would turn into fake date at his family Christmas. Still, raising her niece, Faith, on her own means that she will do what ever it takes to be able to provide for her even if it means putting Holly is putting her heart at risk. I was absolutely smitten with this holiday tale. Oozing with fluffy, feel good, yuletide charm I was swept away by Faith's adorableness and Holly's desire to be a best aunt possible. Holly never loses herself in her deal with Archie or forgets what is truly important at the end of the day making this my kind of Christmas fairytale.
