A fun sweet read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
I loved it. Simply loved it.
With age gap romances, it's usually an older man scenario, so the woman being the older partner was a delightful change.
Another thing I loved was how the "forbidden" element wasn't there, like, the FMC being the MMC's mom's best friend or her knowing the MMC since he was young.
It was just refreshing to see two consenting adults, the youngest being 25, attracted to each other and eventually falling in love.
.
The age gap was considerably large, 15 years, but I feel if the roles were reversed and the guy was older, no one would bat an eyelash.
It also made sense because Josh, the MMC, was a mature, responsible guy. His upbringing definitely played a part in shaping his character and priorities.
Ginny, the FMC, was also a great character. She was really well written, she was older but she wasn't old if that makes sense.
She wasn't acting like a 20-year-old woman, but she had a charming and attractive character that was super easy to love.
Their chemistry was sizzling, I almost saw sparks flying out of my phone. They definitely made my heart flutter.
.
I also loved how the conflict of interest was handled. I understood where both were coming from. Gin didn't want to hold Josh back and prevent him from reaching his dreams, which he kept talking about in the beginning, so she felt inclined to let him go.
She was also under constant criticism from a lot of people about her having a baby with a younger guy. It also didn't help matters that his mom was against the relationship in the beginning.
On the other hand, Josh was sure about his feelings for Ginny from the get go. He was open and attentive, he didn't shy from pursuing her multiple times even when faced with her reluctance.
I also liked the way both of their priorities shifted throughout the book. Both had a clear plan in the beginning but realized quickly that things changed and they had to reconsider their life goals.
.
I agree with some reviewers about how small and meddling the setting was. The whole gossip mill thing was over the top, to be honest.
That was the one frustrating point of the book.
.
The ending was amazing, I was really sad to let them go but I was so happy when they finally got their happily ever after.
*I received an ARC of this book through netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review*
Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.
I loved this romcom beyond words! I loved the humor and heart throughout the story.
I highly recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
It was a good book and really enjoyed it all and rooted for this couple to make it. Love it all.
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book.
I had a difficult time getting into this book. I found the main character to be annoying. There wasn't enough romance to keep me interested.
Book wasn't meant for me. Hopefully someone will enjoy it more. I will look into renting it in the future
Ginny is a 40 year old single woman, who has recently be left by her boyfriend for his ex-wife, and she has been coming to terms that maybe having a baby and a family is not in the cards for her. Josh is a 26 year old, he has recently graduated college with multiple degrees and the dream of being a landscape architect who works for a big corporation, travels and makes a large impact on the world around him. These two meet when they bump into each other in a parking lot for the marriage reception of Ginny's cousin and the job that Josh is bartending at. They are both immediately attracted to the other and from there they decide to have a one night stand which leads to an unexpected but very welcome pregnancy on both their parts.
I really enjoyed The Men of Lakeside series also by this author. I love that there is crossover from that series into this one. This is a wonderful feel good story which I feel like is something we need right now. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
Not Seeking Mr Right is a sweet and sexy novel of an older woman and younger man, plus accidental pregnancy (in case that is triggering for anyone). I am the same age as the older woman so that was kind of interesting to see the parallels and also the differences. I like the characters but I was angry a lot at some of the actions as well as basically their entire small town. I understood what was happening but I was annoyed and definitely did not feel some of the characters got what they deserved. It was an enjoyable book and ending, just unfortunately I did not like the setting as much as I usually do for small town set books.
Not Seeking Mr. Right has a great premise, with 40 year old female lead in an age gap romance where she's the older one, this book is different from the usual. Throw in an unexpected pregnancy post one night stand and you have all the angst for an intriguing read. It's a light book, but it also got me thinking about who changed tropes we easily accept and which we have a harder time with and why.

I have to say that this book had all the elements for me to NOT like it, and even so, I really enjoyed it.
I am not a fan of the "accidental pregnancy" trope and I do not like a big age gap between characters usually, but something about this book made it very fun and entertaining to read.
In the end, I was really into the book, longing to see how everything would fall into place.
I want to say a huge thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this fun book.
This was a cute story about going after your dreams. I enjoyed that each of the main had separate dreams for themselves and managed to simply make things work.
There was the typical drama that comes with age gap romance. I must admit this was a bit of a larger gap and the nail was constantly being hit on the perils of the gap. It was a tad annoying at times to be honest.
The ending was cute. Overall it was a cute book.
Gin is at a wedding reception and notices Josh in the parking lot. Changing. He notices her too. After a one night stand, she finds out she’s pregnant. Age is a big issue for her as she is 40 and Josh is 25. After telling him the big news, he doesn’t react the way she thinks he would. Turning down proposals is what she thinks is best as he just graduated from college and wants to see what the world has to offer. I liked this rom com a lot. Was a very enjoyable read.
I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book
This was a cute, fun story of Ginny--who finds herself dumped one minute and with a date the next... A date that ends in a one-night stand... And a baby.
I loved this one, because Ginny was actually older than the Josh... And you don't see that too often.
This was a humorous, sweet read with great main characters and a story that I won't soon forget!
This is a really good book. The two main characters are Ginny and Josh. Ginny is 15 years older than Josh. Ginny is more concerned about the difference than Josh. Josh has just graduated college and is actively seeking something in his field. They both attended a wedding Ginny was invited and Josh was working as a waiter. Ginny decides to have a one night stand with Josh. Josh understands what Ginny wants because his life is really gonna change with him seeking employment. About a month later Ginny finds out she is pregnant. Ginny and Josh grow to love one another, but Ginny doesn’t want to keep Josh from finding his dream job. But Josh realizes dreams change.
I enjoy age-gap romance and this one is an older woman/younger man with 15 years between them and a one night stand with a surprise for them both. Filled with emotion, Not Seeking Mr. Right was an engaging story.
The last thing Ginny Colburn expected to see in the parking lot of the country club where her cousin was getting married was a really nice a$$, but that’s exactly what she saw and when he turned around even covering himself with a pair of pants the rest of his body looked just as good. Younger than her by quite a bit, Ginny couldn’t help but be a bit happy when she caught him staring at her when she bent over to pick up the shoes he’d tossed. Josh Anderson knew the beautiful woman with the smart mouth and quick wit was older than him but age was only a number, making a decision he stayed close as he served drinks during the wedding she was attending and when he saw the right moment he swooped in for a dance and to let her ex-boyfriend know he’d screwed up. One thing led to another and they promised only one night, but life had other plans.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit and felt that despite their age difference Ginny and Josh had a lot in common. Josh was more mature than most people his age and had a good head on his shoulders and had goals about the type of job he would take. Finding out he was going to be a dad kind of threw a wrench in things and Ginny basically telling him she could and would do it on her own didn’t sit well with him. There was a lot of conflict between them about how they would proceed and with Josh actively looking for a job out of Lakeside; Ginny knew that she wouldn’t hold him back no matter if she developed feelings. She also wouldn’t agree to marry him or believe him when he told her he loved her. For me that got a bit old and it seemed like they were on this never ending merry-go-round. I hated that the town was not kind to their relationship and the insinuation Ginny used Josh because her biological clock was ticking. While I was happy with the outcome of this book, I needed more time with them actually together to love this book. I needed more time with them as a couple and less time with them being at odds.
Not Seeking Mr. Right was enjoyable despite it being angst filled and had characters that I really liked; I can’t wait to see what’s next for the single ladies of Lakeside!
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a pretty good read. We have a woman in her 40s that has just been dumped but needs to go to a family wedding. She meets a bartender at the wedding and sparks fly. She ends up pregnant and the story just goes from there. I really enjoyed it and just couldn’t put it down.
Ginny Colburn has reached the grand age of 40 and she's over men. Her last boyfriend cheated on her with his ex-wife and then dumped her at her cousins wedding reception. Not the greatest start to anyone's day. Luckily it gets better when she meets a cute, younger man. Suddenly what began as a flirty moment develops into a one-night-stand with unexpected consequences. A warm and engaging story, Not Seeking Mr. Right is a perfect example of how sometimes unintended moments grant the sweetest of outcomes.
Whelp…
I tried getting into this one and it simply didn’t hold my attention. I even tried skipping around and still no luck. I did not finish reading this one.
This was my first romance read by Natasha Moore and it most certainly will not be my last!
The moment I read the blurb, I knew I had to read Ginny and Josh’s story. Not Seeking Mr. Right is a sweet, sexy and oftentimes funny, read. It’s a small town, one night stand, accidental pregnancy, friends to lovers, reverse age gap, romance. There is a lot going on in this book, but it works.
The thing I liked most about it was, that Ginny, was a forty year old woman. She was relatable because she is close to my own age. I really, really, enjoyed that AND it was refreshing to see her as an attractive, put together woman who still had what it took to attract and keep her younger man. And what a man Josh is! He’s the whole sexy package in a twenty five year olds body. Ginny definitely got her groove back 😉.
I’m giving Not Seeking Mr. Right the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval and am looking forward to reading more mature romances by this author. TBR and Enjoy.
