It was delightful to return to the Jennings families' stories. I love when I read about a family and become connected to them and the author continues to write about them in subsequent books. It is so fun to see these characters' lives continue to be happy and their growing families. I know, they're fictional but I just can't help myself and I get attached to them. *shrugs*
Rebecca's story was so fun to dive into. And the title is perfect for her accidental romance. I enjoyed her sweet nature and how kind and loving she was towards her family. Even towards Ben, especially after his part in her accident and keeping her from her chance at a London season. Poor Rebecca. Although I say everything worked out splendidly.
Ben is trying to figure out his life and the hurts from his past. Little does he know that he's going to be drawn to a certain young woman who has the heart to heal his heart. He might fight it and deny it all he wants but us readers know it is inevitable for him. These two were just so wonderful together. I loved every scene with both of them in it.
If you've read the other books in this series you'll enjoy seeing those characters. They are quite delightful. If you haven't read the other books, no worries, this one reads just fine as a stand alone. And I think you'll still enjoy the secondary characters as well!

Happy Reading!!!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love historical fiction and I can add this to my list of favorites. I really enjoyed the book from start to finish.
I so enjoyed being back among the Jennings family. I love their family dynamic.
This was a sweet slow burn regency romance. Started off with an accident that evolved into a unexpected friendship and ended with them falling in love.
Bonus that we get to see all of our favorite characters from the prior books in the series.
It was a lovely romance that I truly enjoyed. Thanks to Netgalley and Covenant Communications for sending me a copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
A tender and sweet regency romance. Rebecca is so excited to finally have her season in London that she is absolutely crushed when an injury prevents her leaving at the last minute. Instead, she’s stuck at home, being kept company, and entertained by Ben. Ben is charming and despite her best efforts, Rebecca falls for him. Ben wants nothing but the best for Rebecca, so when she is healed enough, he sends her to London with the promise that she will fully enjoy her season. The moments they share are tender and sweet and you cannot help but champion for them to find their way back together. Karen Tuft writes in such a way as to engage and retain the reader throughout the entirety. I absolutely recommend this book to those who love sweet regency tales.

Rebecca Jennings has waited so long to have her first Season in London. It's been put a couple of years in a row because of unexpected events in her family, and she's tried to be understanding about it, but this is to be her year thanks to Lady Walmsley. After shopping in town, Rebecca takes a much traveled shortcut through the neighboring estate. While crossing the stile to her family's property she's startled when someone calls out to her, and she takes a tumble breaking her ankle. Seems as if, she's not to have Season this year after all and she's none too happy about it or with Mr. Fortescue (the new Earl of Winton) who caused her fall. Mr. Fortescue (Ben) feels terrible about causing her fall and decides he must do what he can to keep her company and lift her spirits while her ankle heals.
I'm so happy that we get Rebecca's story, as we briefly met her in the last book, The Duke Meets His Match, which is about her older sister. It was fun to see what Rebecca was up to while her sister was in London. This is a tender love story. Rebecca is hurt and upset to be missing the Season she's longed for so long and has to forgive Ben for causing her accident, as he didn't mean to startle her.
Ben's first marriage wasn't a good one. He learned after the marriage that his wife was not what she appeared or pretended to be, so to avoid being betrayed again, he's closed his heart to love. Because it's hard for him to open his heart and trust again, tt takes him awhile to admit he has feelings for Rebecca, and then more time for him to realize Rebecca is not at all like his deceased wife--with her, what you see is what you get.
I liked that both main characters showed growth throughout the story. I really enjoyed seeing Rebecca's sister, Susan, her new husband, and some of the other characters from the previous books. I liked that Rebecca has musical abilities and is accomplished on the pianoforte, like the author. It's always a joy to revisit the Jenning's family, they have some colorful characters in their family, and I hope this isn't the end of their family tree.

Karen Tuft's new regency romance, An Accidental Romance, is out and is full of details and depth and characters from previous novels. It was fun to see where they are in their lives now!
In An Accidental Romance, Rebecca Jennings is excited that she'll soon be leaving for her first Season in London, but her hopes are dashed when her new neighbor, Mr. Ben Fortescue startles her and causes her to lose her footing and break her ankle. She must miss her long-anticipated season and she is not happy about it. Ben feels terrible and tries to make up for his part in the mishap. As they get to know each other better through Rebecca's recovery, could there be something more than friendship between them?
This is a romance between two people from very different backgrounds. Rebecca has been sheltered and is somewhat young and naive. Ben has seen enough of life to feel jaded and world-weary. He is mourning his wife and his marriage and at times, his seemingly fresh emotions made it hard to see how he could fall in love with Rebecca. The romance between them is a slow-burn, however, and Ben is easy to like in how he treats his servants and those around him. Readers will sympathize with his grief and the ways it manifests throughout the story. Rebecca wasn't very kind or easy to like in the beginning, but the author does a wonderful job of showing her journey as she experiences more of life and the heartaches and joys that it brings. I did enjoy the author's descriptions of Rebecca's recovery and the "foot corset." It made me wonder if that really was a thing! There is enough to the courtship between Rebecca and Ben to hope for a happily-ever-after for them and readers will close the book with a smile. The authors truly shines, however, in her descriptions of Rebecca's musical ability. The reader will be as carried away as the audience in the book with the passionate playing described so beautifully. Those scenes were definitely my favorite!
A slow-burn romance, lovely and wonderful characters, and words written so eloquently, with a touch of mystery. Emotional highs and lows and everything in between can be found in this excellent story. Forgiveness, family loyalty, hope and love - all under one cover by Karen Tuft.
A slow burn romance that starts off with an accident and slow blossoms into friendship and eventually more. I did find it very slow to get going and the constant on off relationship caused by the hero a bit long winded. So much so it seemed to be rushed at the end with him accepting his daughter without any of the previous angst shown
This was a really good book. I’ve always loved Regency era books and his book was no exception. I loved the development of the characters and also the intereactions between Ben and Rebecca were so engaging.
This was my first book. By Karen Tuft and I know I will definitely go and read more from her.
A sweet slow burn romance. I loved their meet cute. It's fine to meet at a ball or card party, but it's so much better when it is a uncommon situation. I really enjoyed Ben and Rebecca's relationship and how naturally it developed. I enjoyed being back with the Jennings family. They are so wonderful. This story overlaps with The Duke Met His Match and while you don't need to read them together, I highly suggest it to get the fullness of both stories.

The description of this book sums things up nicely. Rebecca is preparing for her first London Season. She should have had one a few years ago, but it keeps getting put off for one valid reason or other. Rebecca is crossing her neighbor's property when she is startled, trips, and falls, breaking her ankle in the process. She won't be able to walk or dance. And traveling in a carriage to London with a broken ankle is out of the question. So her Season is delayed again. And she is heartbroken. Pretty much everyone can relate to disappointment and hopes deferred. Rebecca begs her older sister to still go to London without her so that she can share the excitement and experiences with her.
Ben feels guilty for causing Rebecca to miss another season. He resolves to visit her every day to appease his guilt and entertain her for a small portion of the day. Sometimes he reads to her. But often, the two find opportunities to talk. Ben shares some of his past and his situation with her. But his past isn't exactly what I would call dark. Full of pain? Sure. But dark implies something else, I think.
An Accidental Romance was surprisingly complex and layered. And I appreciate that for the depth. The main characters, particularly Ben, had much behind their initial stories. The side characters popped off the page, especially given Rebecca's large family. I would like to know more about the side characters, which is almost always a good sign. I have more to say about An Accidental Romance, but I waited too long to write my review. I will tell you that An Accidental Romance gets 4 Stars. Have you read An Accidental Romance? What did you think? Let me know!
This was such an enjoyable read. I love angst and there was plenty of it in this story. The feelings between Rebecca and Ben were just bouncing off the page. I’m not going to lie, sometimes I wanted to slap Ben and tell him to get his act together. But it just made the ending so much better. I loved Rebecca’s family, too and that Ben finally found a loving family of his own. This was my first read by Karen Tuft, but it won’t be my last!
This story is a delightful romance. It was wonderful to finally get Rebecca's love story and it truly was beautiful. Ben was fantastic! And watching him heal with Rebecca's help was heart warming. This story is unique because you get to watch the healing process so well. That's not common and it was very well done.
Rebecca Jennings was finally going to have her first London Season until she breaks her ankle. Whilst she can blame Mr. Ben Fortescue, her new neighbour for her misfortune, the more time they spend together, the more she begins to realise that Ben is all that she wants. However, Ben is not who she thinks, and his secrets may make it impossible for them to have any future together. When Ben suggests that she go to London on her recovery, Rebecca wonders whether she will ever love another.
This is a true love story, with Ben experiencing betrayal in his first marriage, only to find true love with Rebecca. Yet, he struggles with believing that such love can come to him at last. It was so delightful to see Rebecca grow from a young girl desiring her first Season to realising that through her support, that her love for Ben can grow and become something to treasure. In many ways, it is this aspect of the story, that was truly beautiful.
Without revealing too much of their story, this is a love story to treasure and one that will linger long after the last page is read. I am so appreciative for having been given the chance to review this book. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This sweet romance had quite the whirlwind of events. From a broken ankle keeping Miss Rebecca from London to an unexpected marriage (not her own) that led to exciting events- this story goes all over the place. The slow build of romance was fun to see in the beginning as the couple's interactions were not purposeful but incidental. As the story continued, it seemed to drag for a bit and I couldn't help but skim some of the not as important details and conversations. It took me a while to get through the middle part of the book. Once the climax occurred, it all happened quickly and drew me back in. This story was a fun one-time read but I don't know that I would go back and read it again. The characters were fantastic and wholesome and the plot was solid but I just had a hard time connecting with the story as a whole.
Slow paced with plenty of day to day life detail, this book explores Rebecca's growth as she copes with disappointment and learns to look outside herself. Ben is a tortured hero in search of respite and anonymity, but discovers an unlikely friend in Rebecca. They each have plenty of angsty moments, but my favorites were their interactions as they gradually become aware of their mutual attraction. It was frustrating for them to believe their romance is impossible, when it seems to be entirely possible if they would sacrifice for it. This story is more of a journey that follows the long healing process of their hearts, both separately and together. Readers of the first two books will be happy with plenty of characters in Rebecca's family and beyond that come together and in turn support and frustrate her during her recovery. I feel like the amount of "filler" details and scenes made my interest wane as well as the chemistry that the author had built between Rebecca and Ben. I was invested enough to read through to the end, and overall it was a pleasant diversion.

Oh how I loved Rebecca and her big personality. Ben was a delight, He made her bleak situation so much better. She had been looking forward to spending her first season with her sister and was disappointed by a broken ankle because he startled her and because she was in a precarious situation of her own making.
The growth of the couple and the characters was organic and lovely. I loved everything about this story. It was a delight to read. I found myself transported into this fantastic family and the lovely area in which they live. I loved seeing Susan and Lucas and their families from previous books.
This was such a fun story with such a sweet storyline. Each character had to embrace the weakness in the other and figure out what they wanted out of life. I love this change from strangers to friends to more.
I received an early copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest review.
I loved this book! Ever since I read my first book by Karen Tuft I have loved her books and she is an automatic buy for me. I was so glad that we finally got Rebecca's story and that we got to know how she broke her ankle and how she dealt with that. I loved the romance between Rebecca and Ben and how they saw each other for who they really were and loved each other because of their flaws. I just really loved this story and want to read it over and over again.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Just as good as her other books. I had some small annoyances throughout this book, but I think that was more me than anything. I loved the writing and the development of this story.
Rebecca Jennings is loaded down with packages on her way home, when she takes a shortcut to her home over her neighbors property. As she steps over the stile, she is startled by her new neighbor, Benjamin Fortescue, the Earl of Winton. As she does so, she breaks her ankle, and her much anticipated debut in London has to be cancelled.
At first, out of concern that he caused the accident, Ben visits Rebecca, keeping her company during her convalescence, but soon they develop a friendship as they share details of their lives and confide with one another. They have rocky moments as they traverse this path to romance. I loved the line by Ben when he said, "I want you in my life ---- and I don't."
This was just a really good novel, with lots of depth and character development, good dialogue, as well as an interesting, and unique story line. -- all things that I am accustomed to when I read a Karen Tuft book. I loved it that Lavinia and Lucas and Artie and Delia also showed up -- always fun to have the main characters of her other related books to make an appearance. If I could I would give this a 4.5 because it was just a great read!
I received an ARC copy of this book by NetGalley. The opinions reflected herein our my own.
