First of all, I want to thank NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. I saw this book on NetGalley and, I just thought: I need to read this. However, I have tried and tried and tried to read this book a billion times and... I didn't have the need to keep reading, to enjoy it. This is my opinion, at this moment so don't get influenced by this. I encourage you to try this book because maybe it is not my type of book or maybe it wasn't the right moment to read it. I want in the future to really try again and finish it.

This story was equally charming and sweet. I loved the aspect of neighbors to lovers within this book between Jake and Audrey. They are both hugely different people that at first glance don't seem like they would get along, but a book shouldn't be judged by itself cover. They hit it off instantly, and as their friendship grows into something more they both help one another see the faults in the way they have been living.

Their gift exchanges were adorable, and I loved seeing how they both acted around Jake's niece and nephew. Not to mention his dog was a cute edition to the story.

I really loved this story, and I'm really happy with how it ended. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Loved this book! All of the characters were very relatable.

Audrey was such a strong female character working to reach her goals. Her struggles with her work-life balance is something we all definitely struggle with.

This was such a cute romance and I can’t wait to pick up more books in future by this author ❤️

"I'm still learning not to let work swallow me up. But one way is to take time to savor your successes. "
- Partner Pursuit

Audrey is a hard working lawyer since her goal is to be partner to her firm company. While Jake is a marketing senior vice president, they introduce new musicians. It gives me interest because Audrey is a lawyer and I was able to imagine it's life in real world. This romance is in a slow-paced but I like how the author made it beautifully together.

Highly recommend this book to those workhalolic people, you learned how to manage to have a balance work and life wherein making it balance is the hardest thing to do.

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and man did I enjoy this. Workaholic Audrey isn’t someone Jake normally goes for. He doesn’t usually date lawyers. This is a fast paced book with a lot of a laughs and an interesting storyline. I will definitely be reading another book by this author.

Audrey and Jake. I fell in love with these two immediately. Not only together, but separately. Audrey Willems - lawyer who wants it all when it comes to her profession. Jake Miller - music marketing executive who works hard, who knows to not put work before his own life. Two completely different souls, that craves each other deeply. How will they maneuver their differences, and can Audrey learn to let go and see that work isn’t everything? I really enjoyed reading about these two dorks and all the laughs it brought me. And let’s not forget about our dearest Biscuit. This is a love story I will remember.

Audrey is an NYC, workaholic, lawyer hoping to make partner at the firm she's with. She’s crushed on Tim at work but now has a cute new neighbor who has also caught her eye. Audrey's struggle for a healthy work-life balance was completely relatable.

I really liked this. I loved the characters, I felt like Audrey was a strong female character working on her own to reach her goals. Audrey's struggle for a healthy work-life balance was completely relatable. There were a lot of "friends" in this book but it looks like that was a setup for more stories coming from the author. My only real con with this book was the (sometimes) lengthy passages regarding Audrey's work. I think the point of her being a workaholic and engrossed in her cases could have been conveyed without all the in-depth legal jargon.

I'm looking forward to more stories with this group from Kathy Strobos!

One word for this book: ADORABLE! This book made me laugh SO much. The characters were so fun. This is the best kind of rom-com.

This is my first book by Ms. Strobos and I enjoyed it very much. It was a cute and entertaining read with likable characters. I was looking for a light-hearted and fun read and this did not disappoint! This was a very charrming story about Audrey, who is a lawyer in a big New York firm and is working herself into a frenzy trying to make partner. She has no time for social life, let alone a love life. Jake is her new neighbor, and the complete opposite of Audrey. He grew up with a workaholic father and knows first hand how that can cause a strain in relationships. He lives his life in a more easygoing, carefree way. Despite their opposite nature, these two really click. I enjoyed following their journey and seeing them realize, particularly Audrey what is important in life. This was such an enjoyable story, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it. I am happy to recommend!

I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

“Are you sure you’re a corporate lawyer?”
“Positive. Why?”
“You seem too mischievous.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Audrey is a corporate lawyer in NYC, up for partner in six months. She’s crushed hard on Tim at work forever, and now there’s a cute guy next door too! Is it worth potentially putting partner on the line for a boyfriend? And how will she choose who?

I really liked this. I loved the characters, weirdly especially Colette, I think me and her were definitely on the same wavelength at times! But the whole Audrey/Jake/Tim triangle just had me so intrigued throughout, and kept me turning the pages!

The only thing holding this back from being a five star in my book was how in depth the lawyer talk was… Let’s just say there were a few times I zoned out, but the in-depth romance side to it definitely had the rest of the book covered!

I’ve got book two in this series lined up ready to go over the next couple of weeks!

Workaholic lawyer Audrey Willems is not going to take any chances with her bid to become a partner at her New York law firm—especially with only six months until the decision.
Until she bumps into Jake—her new neighbor. Jake is a fun-loving music marketing executive who might just be The One. But Jake will never date a woman married to her job. His father was a workaholic lawyer who never had time for family.

This was such a fun & quirky read! I loved the NYC vibes it had which made the romance more charming. The romance was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you netgalley and publisher for the ARC

This book is the definition of a rom-com vibe book.
So Audrey is a lawyer but she's a workaholic. Her only motive is to be made a partner in the Law Firm, she's extremely determined to get what she wants.
Being a workaholic means that she doesn't have a life anymore, she can't see her friends, she cant date. Until she meets the hot, handsome, and charismatic Jake, aka her new neighbor, obvi jake don't want to date a woman who is obsessed with her work, but this will change when he meets our beautiful Audrey.

overall this book is such a cute and fast read, I loved the characters and how Audrey is a strong and relatable lead.

Audrey is clearly highly driven but also is not in the business of self-promoting. As she is in the final push in the pursuit of a partnership at her corporate law firm, she strikes up a relationship with the handsome music marketing exec, Jake, next door, who also happens to have an aversion to dating lawyers.

The gaslighting at work from Malaburn and the unhealthy competition from Colette, an associate also up for partner, raised my stress level as I was reading.

I liked the message of attempting to achieve work-life balance and how Jake, Audrey's friends, and even some of her clients help her to see that there is more to life than just working all the time. I also liked the message of women working together to support each other instead of competing against each other. It was also good to see Audrey grow into being able to stand up for herself while still maintaining her positive approach and the niceness she strives for in the book.

The flirting via notes and gifts between Audrey and Jake is cute, but be aware that she feels stuck in the friend zone for a chunk of the book.

This is more women's fiction than romance. I would like to have seen more of the development of the relationship, but I understand that this book is more about Audrey's growth.

Any intimacy other than kissing is closed door.

Trigger/Content Warnings: grief, gaslighting at work

DNF at 30%

This is reading more like a book about life as a lawyer than a romance book, way too much focus on the lawyer side of things. I've ended up skipping entire pages of law chat that's just not for me.

Partner Pursuit was like a Hallmark movie came to life: a woman married to her job and trying to juggle romance in between long hours at the office. Audrey’s main focus is to make partner at her law firm and it’s nearly in her grasp. Unfortunately, the heroine’s obsession with her career got an unproportionate amount of air time compared to the love interest. The romance seemed like a secondary plot line and the hero was barely featured. In addition to the trope of the career woman who’s most important relationship is her job, we also received a multitude of side characters that blurred together and bedroom scenes that went straight to commercial.

The few moments we got to see Jake were worth it. He was bright, affable, sweet, and had the personality of a golden retriever. He reminded me of Levi from Fangirl because he provided the sunshine in an otherwise cloudy romance. While I’m personally not a dog person, I thought it was cute that he named his dog, Biscuit. I kept waiting for Jake to show up and become more prominently featured in Partner Pursuit. They had nice chemistry together, even if all their love scenes faded to black. The scale of sexual content is entirely up to the author and I think I’ve read too many spicy romances that I wasn’t expecting to slam on the brakes when it started getting steamy. Closed door love scenes aren’t my preferred rating on the "love-o-meter", but I can always respect the author’s choice.

While I didn’t completely love Partner Pursuit, I liked the clever title and the heroine’s dedication to her career. I need to take more personal time myself and give less devotion to my own job. Audrey faces the struggle of the modern woman who feels like she has to decide between the law firm and romance. Who says she can’t have both? I wish the romance with Jake was a bigger element of the story, especially because he was cute as a button. Partner Pursuit shows that it’s important to follow your dreams and avoid obstacles when you’re flying down the bustling streets of life.

This is one of those books where I can't put my finger on why it wasn't exactly for me. The plot was strong, but I think the writing and pacing wasn't working while I was reading. I'd definitely give this author a try again though, considering this is just her debut!
