This author is an auto click for me and this book a perfect example of why! I was captivated from page one with its bone rattling plane ride all the way to the swoony HEA. I loved both the main characters. They were intelligent and likeable with real world problems. The chemistry between them was smokin’! Even the secondary characters were interesting and well developed. Add in the angst and the drama. And there were enough plot teasers to make me anxious to read the upcoming stories set in Captivity, Alaska. I can’t wait!

Over the years I've read a number of books by Samantha Beck but I think that Wild in Captivity might be my favorite book by her yet. I'm a sucker for the city girl goes to Alaska and finds love troupe and haven't read one in a while so Wild in Captivity really hit the spot for me. The main and side characters where extremely likable but they had their flaws that they had to make them seem like real people and the side characters were interesting enough that I am dying to see them in their own books, without overshadowing the leads.
LA lawyer Isabelle "Izzy" Marcano is only in Alaska to facilitate a good deal for the selling of the local air field in Captivity for the owner, Trace Shanahan, and that's it, with the hopes that this sale will boost her standing at work enough to make her a partner at her law firm. The issue is that Trace doesn't want anyone in town to know that he's considering selling the air field so when her luggage busts open and the whole town sees that her best friend has slipped some NSFW items in her luggage for an Alaska fling the only way to explain her presence in town is that she is Trace's potential fiancé and she wants to see what Captivity is like. Well there goes her plans for a fling with a hot Alaskan...
Ever since Trace lost his brother in an accident he hasn't loved the airport like he used to, and he's tired of doing all the paperwork by himself, so he's decided to sell it and move on with his life. But he doesn't want his younger sister and the rest of the town to find out until he's sure that he's selling it. When the law firm he hired in LA to handle the sale sends the extremely attractive Izzy he can't help but feel an attraction to her. And when her luggage pops open and it's full of lingerie and condoms he can't help but wonder why she has all of that packed in her bag. With that in everyone's mind he comes up with a little lie, that they've been dating and he's thinking of marrying her but they want to see if she fits in in Captivity. So they decide to keep up the ruse while the negotiations are in progress.
But when a fake relationship starts to turn real can Izzy keep her feelings about the reasons why Trace is selling the airport, and some other secrets she's learned about Trace's sister and family friend in check to do her job properly so she can get what she wants in her work life? Or will she throw it all away for a man she's just met but might actually love?

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I started reading Trace and Izzy's story, but it was beyond anything that I could have wanted in this book. From the second that Izzy landed in Captivity and she shared that sizzling hot kiss with Trace she couldn't stop thinking about him. The time time they spent together, the more they wanted one another. Izzy went to Alaska to help Trace sell his shares in his families airline business, but the more Izzy dug the more she wondered if what Trace was doing was right. Izzy went for one reason and ended up getting so much more.

I loved the fireworks that blasted off the page whenever Trace and Izzy were in the same room together, she fought their chemistry so hard but in the end Trace was right and she did give in. He thought he was going crazy but because of that his life changed for the good. I loved this book I could not put it down, I was addicted to these characters from the second I picked up this book. I highly recommend!!!

This is Samanthe Beck's steamiest story yet! The stories just keep getting better. I can't wait to read the next one that comes out of her creative imagination! This one has so much chemistry between the two lead characters. It's a pretend engagement to cover up why she's in the small Alaskan town. It's fun to watch two intelligent and capable people interact. It's full of small town noisy, helpful folks, secrets and ambition hopes. I loved every single minute of this story with lough out loud moments along the way.

Isabella Marcano is a driven woman attorney looking at a partnership in a big LA firm if she closes this deal. Unfortunately it's in small town Captive Cove Alaska and she's in a bush pilot plane on the leading edge of a blizzard dressed for the big city. Trace Shanahan is the bush pilot racing the storm to get this prissy attorney to his small town so she can closed the deal on selling his air & cargo company's sale. His friend Chuck was supposed to send someone from his firm to blend in and he gets a fish out of water! Now he has to come up with a plausible cover for her being here without the town guessing what he's up to. Isabella planned to change clothes before she boarded but the blizzard rushed things and there she was. When Mad Dog & Wingnut helped unload her trunk it sprang open spraying lacy underthings and a big box of condoms he had to come up with an excuse asap. He declares she's his girlfriend and the adventure begins. She's there to dig up records to close the deal and he just wants to escape away from haunted memories. What follows is lots of time together and Isabella trying desperately to remember the bar rule of no intimate relations with a client.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

WILD IN CAPTIVITY is the first instalment in Samanthe Beck’s contemporary, adult CAPTIVITY ALASKA erotic, romance series. This is thirty year old, Alaskan bush pilot / CEo of Captivity Air Trace Shanahan, and twenty-five year old, California attorney Isabelle Marcano’s storyline.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Trace and Izzy) WILD IN CAPTIVITY follows California attorney as she is tasked with researching the sale of Captivity, Alaska’s Captivity Air to a US investor, a sale of which owner Trace Shanahan has asked to be kept on the down low. Working in Alaska, Izzy finds herself the ‘fake fiancee’ of Captivity Air’s CEO Trace Shanahan, when the locals begin investigating the appearance of a ‘city girl’ in their small Alaskan town. As Trace and Izzy’s fake relationship quickly turns into something more, Captivity’s secrets begin to reveal, and Izzy struggles when she is caught in the middle of a potential disaster. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Izzy and Trace, and the fall-out a Izzy is unable to get past Trace’s lies by omission, as her time in Alaska comes to a close.

Trace Shanahan has chosen to sell his shares in Captivity Air, but has yet to reveal the real reason behind his impetuous plans. Months earlier, Trace and his sister Bridget’s life imploded with the loss of someone they loved, and in the ensuing months everything is changing in Captivity Alaska. Isabelle Marcano is hoping to make partner at the LA law firm for which she works, and sealing the deal on the sale of Captivity Air is her ticket to the big time but getting involved with the ‘client’ is an ethical problem, and in this, our heroine is hoping to keep not only the sale of Captivity Air on the downlow but her relationship with Trace, as well.

The relationship between Trace and Izzy is one of immediate attraction but from the outset Trace needs everyone to believe that Izzy is not whom she claims to be. As his ‘fake fiance’ news spreads fast about our story line couple, news that brings out the humor, rumors and future plans for the people of Captivity Alaska. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to the people of Captivity Alaska including Trace’s sister and fellow pilot Bridget Shanahan and their dog Key; Inn owner Rose Iquat, and her daughter Lilah; bar owner/ former Army special forces Gord Langley; fishing boat captain Jorg Henrickson; pilots Wyatt ‘Wingnut’ Jensen and Maddox ‘Mad Dog’ Douglas; Izzy’s best friend Danny, and their boss/ attorney Chuck Reynolds.

WILD IN CAPTIVITY is a story of loss and grief; guilt and acceptance; family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is inviting and heart warming; the romance is intimate and seductive; the characters are flirty, wounded and spirited.

A lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, Isabelle Marcano is sent to seal a deal in Captivity, Alaska as a stepping stone on her way to making partner. Intending to gorge herself on some much-needed sexy time, she finds herself immediately cock-blocked - by her own client, Trace! Keeping up the ruse of a fake relationship is just one of the problems she faces, as the town, Trace and the deal reveal hidden truths she hasn't wanted to admit to herself.

Trace Shanahan is looking to offload the business that's been in his family for decades as quietly and quickly as possible. When the firm he hires to oversee the sale offers to send out an attorney he agrees. But one look at Isabelle and he knows she won't help at all with his plan to keep the sale under the radar. But announcing their fake engagement just happens to show him what he's missing in his life, but will he be able to let go of his personal demons in order to keep Isabelle?

I really enjoyed this book. It's the kind of book that makes you smile (and laugh out loud a few times!). I especially identified with Isabelle - we're the friend that's ALWAYS cold! I fell in love with each character, and I can't wait to see what great things the author will do with the series.

I recommend this book wholeheartedly and unreservedly.

This story was my catnip.
It has everything I want in a contemporary romance: fake dating, opposites attract, small town & plenty of steam!
The writing was fast paced and addictive. Two thumbs up!!
This is a first in a series so be sure to pick this up before the next one comes out.

Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for an e-ARC!

If you don't know that I love Entangled Publishing books by now we have an issue. This was so fun. I loved the small town setting, the details that really fit everything into place and the chemistry between all the characters, not just romantically, but platonically as well. Izzy got on my nerves for a tiny bit but I really loved her character development and self assurance by the end. She was strong willed and understood what she needed and wanted. And Trace oh my lord this man is hot AF I can tell. This was SO steamy and the tension between Izzy and Trace was so high. I love their scenes together, steamy and not and I thought the setting was the perfect romantic background. Such a good one!!

This was sooo cute and fun story.
This book has a lot of the tropes I enjoyed including grumpy/sunshine and fake dating and I loved it. And yes it was a bit cliché-ish and I wish the characters were a little more flesh out but overall it was such a delight to read.
If you like small-town romance with fake dating this is for you.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

It might be cold in Alaska, but it’s hot as hades in Captivity! The chemistry between buttoned up lawyer Izzy and hot “bear daddy” bush pilot Trace could melt more than one glacier. From their first bumpy meeting to the end, these two opposites are a joy to get to know. There’s so much laughter and inside little snickers that brought fun to their journey. I wish I was one of those readers who highlight passages to share…but then I hate to give those gems away.
They share a ton of passion, but become friends as well. Izzy learns of not just Trace’s heartache, but that of his family and friends. Sister Bridget and young Lilah quickly welcome Izzy into their girls club and Mad, Wingnut and Ford round out Trace’s closest friends. I’m hoping each and every one of them gets their own stories!
I was totally enthralled with this story, these characters and this beautiful landscape of Captivity, Alaska. Kudos to Samanthe Beck or starting off her newest series with a bang! 5 huge stars!

Good old fake dating romance that turns into lovers- lawyer comes to Captivity- small town Alaska and falls for the bush pilot that flyers her there and is also her client. This small town Alaska is just fun - cute- full of great people. This one had some great moments- geese- LOL and also sad moments with his brother. Izzy is out of sorts from LA to Alaska but finds she loves it and its better than her workaholic live. Trace is the Alaska mountain man she hopes she meets and gets. The chemistry is there from the start and we get some steam in this one!

I'm excited to see more of this series for the others to their HEA.

4 stars
4 steam

Holy bear daddy hotness!

Oh my word, I had so much fun with this book! I felt each and every one of Izzy's Alaskan mishaps as she acclimated to the small, frozen town that was a long way from Los Angeles - in every possible way. And that first kiss! Whew! I think I can still feel the burns!

Isabelle is the lawyer sent to represent Trace in the contract negotiations to sell his stake in the family aviation business. From the moment she lands in Captivity, Alaska, she has to pretend to be Trace's girlfriend, a cover story meant to keep the impending sale from fueling the gossip mill. The ruse works too well and Izzy is soon swallowed up by the close-knit community and running out of reasons to continue ignoring the obvious chemistry she shares with Trace. The sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

This story is so much more than a romance, though. I love the insightful, inventive writing style that really gets you into the heads of the characters. There's a lot going on with Trace and his family, and the last part of the book had more than one jaw-dropping secret revealed that completely changed the entire game. There's a bit of a spiritual (but not religious) aspect that was very nicely done, and I have to say, I can't remember the last time a dog character was so well developed that he was nearly human. Not just a sidekick, Key plays a pivotal role throughout the book.

The whirlwind HEA is followed by an explosive introduction to the next book, and I am already hooked! I loved every single thing about this book - the humor, the passion, the family and community connections - it's one of the best contemporary romances I've read in a very long time. I highly recommend this amazing story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wild in Captivity by Samanthe Beck is the first book in the Captivity Alaska Series and is jam-packed with drama, angst, and awe-inspiring scenery that takes your breath away. Alaska is not for everyone, as Isabelle soon discovers, but there are also some fine male specimens that just might make her endeavour tolerable. A well-written storyline and strong and interesting characters made this an enjoyable and entertaining read, and one I’m happy to recommend. All that testosterone didn’t hurt either, so I’m really looking forward to the next in this series.

I absolutely loved this book! This book is about a LA Lawyer who is sent to a small town in Alaska (captivity) to help sell the small town airfield. Trace is her client, but as soon as she lands, Trace doesn’t want anyone to know why she’s there so he pretends that she is his fiancé.

This book had everything I love, fake dating, ONE BED, slow burn, tension and hilarious dialogue. Both characters interact so well together! It was surprising cute and super steamy!

Being set in Alaska it gives off the perfect winter and fall vibes with the snow and atmosphere. I’ve been to a few small towns in Alaska on a cruise while back and it made me miss it so much!

I also liked that this book had native America rep and a lot about Alaskan history.

I loved the cast of characters, story and romance. I can’t wait to read more books set in this series! Can’t wait to read more about the people of Captivity Alaska.

If you are looking for a cute, steamy and funny small town romance I highly recommended picking this one up!

Despite the constant plug-in for Bear Daddy-ness, which made me cringe each time, the story kicked off at a face pace. Fun series, I may be interested in reading more, since the author set up storylines for other characters.

I loved this book!

I fell in love with Trace and Isabelle from the very first chapter and continued to love them throughout this book! Everything about this book was super entertaining, I finished it in a day since I couldn't put it down! I laughed, I got teary eyes, my heart melted a whole bunch of times. I'm so glad to have discovered this author! I'll definitely be reading more of Samanthe Beck's books soon!

I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

Wild in Captivity by Samantha Beck was unputdownable reading! Izzy and Trace were two of the most well put together characters in a book that I have read for a while and their antics in the narrative kept on entertaining and surprising. The secondary characters too draw their own spotlight and I hope they all get their own story in the series!

What a fabulous story Wild in Captivity is with its fabulous characters, and oh so perfect setting combining to make this book a read I could revisit over and over again with ease, easily earning a top spot in my fave reads list.

Lots of opportunities to laugh out loud. Izzy is a lawyer with an itch to scratch. Trace is a client with a reputation to protect. The story is feisty and totally delightful. From the exploding suitcase to attack geese you will be thoroughly entertained. The cast of characters in the small town of Captivity, Alaska are all in on ensuring that Izzy and Trace get their happily ever after.

Isabelle is a lawyer on track to become a partner, heading to Captivity, Alaska to work on a sale of an airport.
Trace is not ready to announce to everyone the real reason why Izzy has come to Captivity, so he comes up with fake girlfriend story while she is in town. Only they didn’t take into consideration their attraction making it difficult to keep things professional between them.
Wild in Captivity is a fast paced, steamy read. The chemistry between Isabelle and Trace is off the charts hot, and that along with some cute, funny moments, make it a very entertaining read. I loved the guardian angel angel, very heartwarming and Traces pet dog, Key just stole my heart.
Eagerly awaiting for the next book in the series.
