Very interesting bedtime story! Good Night to Your Fantastic Elastic Brain was informative and well written for children. Loved it.

I received an electronic ARC from SOURCEBOOKS Kids through NetGalley.
A sequel to Your Fantastic Elastic Brain. Readers learn what happens inside our brains when we sleep. The authors discuss and illustrate the various parts of the brain that remain active through the night to keep us alive and process the memories from the day. The informative text is presented at an elementary processing level. The artwork offers support for the text and gives readers another way to see the information and evaluate what they have learned.
A must have addition for school libraries.

Our family is a big fan of the book Your Fantastic Elastic Brain: Stretch It, Shape it, so when I received a free digital copy of Good Night to Your Fantastic Elastic Brain I was really excited to read it to my kids.

As a parent, I love that the text doesn't patronise the child reader and uses correct scientific terms to explain complex processes in an age appropriate way.

My eight year old loved learning about why sleep is important instead of just being told that it is. He is now making plans for how he can implement a 'sleep rhythm' to 'boost' his 'brain power'.

My six month old enjoyed the the bright, graphic illustrations and seemed particularly drawn to the pink brain illustrations.
This is a great book for discussing the importance of sleep with primary aged children and I will definitely be adding a hardcopy to our family bookshelf.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for giving me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It’s amazing how much material this book covers in a fun and readable manner. While elementary school-aged kiddos are probably its best match, I quite enjoyed the refresher course on sleep and brain function. The illustrations are cute and accessible for a wide range of ages.
I spent much of college studying parts of the brain, and wish my textbooks (and professors!) had been this engaging.

Thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS kids for access to the ARC.

My kiddo is only 4 years old so this book is just a little bit advanced for her. However, we were still able to look at the pictures and I summarized some of the pages to make it more comprehensible for her. She has been really curious about why she needs to sleep and what is happening while she is sleeping, so this is the perfect resource! I also really appreciated how inclusive the images were. Many thanks to the author for thinking of this.

Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Kids and NetGalley for the opportunity to access this free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I am impressed by how well this book delivers so much information in a way that is easy to understand even for children. I am not a subject matter expert but from what I know everything in this book is correct and nothing important is missing. This might be a nice summary even for adults.

Another big plus is all the representation in this little book. I had already almost finished the book when I noticed a girl with a headscarf and a girl in a wheelchair in one picture. I scrolled back and found children with different skin and hair color, different faces, different clothing. Without me even noticing it this book showed me many different ways of being human.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

We learned so much about how our brains work, especially while we sleep. It’s so important to get enough sleep and it was a good reminder for my kids why it’s important they get enough sleep. There is a lot of information presented, but in a way that’s easy for kids and parents to understand. The illustrations were colorful and child friendly.

I absolutely love this book! Goodnight to your Fantastic Elastic Brain does an excellent job explaining brain function and sleep to young children. My daughter is particularly interested in the brain and is often asking me many questions that this book answers. For parents it's also a great tool because it explains to children many of the reasons why sleep is important! This would be a great book to read before bed so kids feel ready and excited about getting a good nights sleep.
In the classroom this would be a great picture book to read with elementary aged kids. At a young age students will understand some of the broader ideas, while older children can understand more of the details. The illustrations are a great companion to the facts and information. The pictures make lots of confusing body functions tangible to children.
This book was such a delight! I can't wait until it's released so I can check it out of the library to read with my kids. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebook Kids for giving me this sneak peak of this ebook!
