This is decent and short collection. Good but not great. I can see the talent seeping thru. This set just wasn't great. I do look forward to the author's future output.

Looks like I’m the first person to rate and review this (the author and the author’s own publishing company surely mustn’t count). This is my second time reading this author. Uncharacteristic, since I didn’t care for the first impression, a collection of short scary stories that really didn’t work for me. This was a genre switch up, science fiction this time, but lamentably the result is the same.
It’s a difficult thing to pinpoint exactly, because technically these stories are fairly competent in their execution, but there’s just something about the writing style that doesn’t work for me. For one thing it’s much too dense and all tell with barely any show, or dialogue for that matter. For another thing, outside of one story, there really isn’t much in the way of original, fascinating or intriguing concepts here. It’s just not all that exciting in the end. Though short enough of a book that you do get to the end quickly enough. For me, it’s a pass. User mileage might vary, but after two tries I’m giving up on this author. Thanks Netgalley.
