Oh what a great story! If you like a good werewolf romantic suspense this is for you! I like to throw one in every once in awhile just to change up! This was a good one for that. It had the action and suspense I like not to mention the yummy romance! Alexis is a were, but also a detective, that’s on the trial of the were that bit her. Raul is a Park Ranger investigating werewolf’s that are turning people against their will. Can they find the culprit without killing each other is the question!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

4.5 Stars for Paranormal/ Cop Plot
3.75 Stars for Romance

Bared and Betrayed takes place in Hemlock Hollow, a Montana town entirely populated by werewolves. We follow Elexis, a newly bitten against her will werewolf, and Raul, her guide into the werewolf life. They are both cops, and both looking to uncover why there have been a rash of unlawful turnings.
Elexis doesn't trust Raul from the start, seeing as he himself has bitten someone without permission. There are some enemies-to-lovers vibes, but pretty quickly they become tentative friends. This story is a slow burn, which I usually don't read, but the fast-paced plot made up for it. While I loved the mystery aspect, the romance was a little slow for me, but the pay-off was worth it in the end.

Thanks to NetGalley for the free copy!

Cover was ok but the blurb caught my eye. I also missed that this was a series and not a stand alone which made reading this hard.

What did I like? The suspense was pretty good but the two main characters had an elephant in the room feel. Raul knew why he bit in the girl but he wasn’t telling Elexis. The heat between Raul and Elexis was apparent but I felt the author overdid the necessity to get naked in front of the other too much.

Would I recommend or buy? No to both. It took a lot longer to get through this because I was a bit bored. Factoring in that this was book three, it probably would have helped to read the whole series. Thanks to City Owl Press for a copy to read and voluntarily leave a review.

Bared and betrayed by Heather McCorkle.
Children of fenrir book 3.
In this Montana town of Viking descended werewolves, there are secrets upon secrets.
In the name of protecting his family and his kind, Raul Anderson has made some terrible decisions, and even worse mistakes. Mistakes that got him bumped from First Verndari, to the bottom of the pack. Being blackmailed is no excuse, especially when he can't prove it. Now he has to work his way back up to the top of the pack so he can challenge the werewolf he suspects is plotting to throw them into a war with humans.
But that isn't his only problem. As punishment for his mistakes, he is sentenced to be a kennari—a teacher to newly bitten werewolves. His first charge is not only hotter than Helheimr, she's also the new detective the police chief has partnered with him to solve who is behind the unsanctioned bitings.
Elexis Sandalius will do whatever it takes to catch the werewolf that attacked and changed her—even accept a job as a detective in a town full of werewolves, and partner with a guy who bit another woman in without her permission. She couldn't dislike the sexy, cocky ex-quarterback anymore if he had been the one to bite her. Until it becomes clear he is not what he appears to be, and is certainly not what everyone thinks he is.
If they can't overcome their dislike of one another—and deal with their growing attraction—a mass murderer will not only walk but will launch their kind into war.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Elexis and Raul. They were my favourite. The bridge scene was my favourite part. I do hope there is more to come. 5*.

I missed that this wasn't a standalone, but book 3. I don't think it mattered at all. I almost DNF when several chapters went on and on about how hot she was. It was really starting to be cringeworthy. As enemies to lovers it was okay, the end of the book was twisty and interesting with a lot of rapid developments. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

Firstly let me start by admitting I didn't know this was part of a series.
But it didn't make me feel like I had to read the others to get what was going on. Though I'm sure I'd you read the other ones first it will flow easier and you'd understand more.
Still it was a decent read. The Characters where cool. I'm always down for an enemies to lovers story line.
I didn't love this book as much as I thought I would but I still liked it.

This is a slow burn novel with lots of shape shifting done right! It's a mystery and adventure with a reluctant romance built in. There are several twists built in that add to the suspense. An exciting read!
