Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

OMG!!! This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

This is my second Lucas book, and the second that I didn't enjoy. I won't be reading her again. She gets too political - first book had an immigrant voting for Trump, this one had vaccines as a ot. No thanks, I'm over it

A bunch of frenemies show up to a party and chaos ensues. Seems like a great premise, but this was just not for me. I would have DNF'd it if I didn't feel an obligation to finish. I didn't like any of the characters or really care what happened to them.

This was unfortunately not for me. The storyline was a bit all over the place and hard to make sense of. There were a lot of characters and just made everything more confusing.

Funny, satirical, and scary all at once. Like some other reviewers, I didn't necessarily agree with all the topics explored (particularly the vaccine subplot) but this writer is so talented and funny that it's hard to stay mad at her. I'm really interested to see what she comes up with next and I'm checking out her backlist as I type.

I have no idea what this book was trying to be, but it did nothing well.

It seemed like it was trying to make readers feel bad for a group of adults who worked together to falsify vaccine records to submit them to school boards so children did not need to get vaccinated to attend school, but instead of what could have been an interesting story following this plot, it was confused into another story line of an elderly couple who disagree about if they should continue to live on their large property, another about a man who seems to be living completely in a fantasy land in his mind and a third about a woman who escaped a religious cult and sold her brother when he was a baby. Way too much going on, and nothing particularly thrilling.

I'd recommend skipping this one.

I could not fully get into this one. I found myself skimming through the pages just to know how it ended. I could not connect to the overall storyline and the characters.

My true biggest gripe is definitely the length--this book could have been at least 100 pages shorter (almost the entire first half felt extraneous and moved *very* slowly). I wasn't hooked by the beginning and ended up not actually caring about the whodunit. I don't DNF books (nothing against those who do, it's just not my style) but if I did I would have DNFed this one.
That said, the second part of the book did pick up a lot, and while the characters felt extremely one-dimensional and unlikable in the beginning, they ultimately grew on me. I don't like to leave things unfinished, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of picking up the second book in this series whenever it's released--but I certainly won't be rushing to get my hands on it.

I am sad to say that this book didn't grab me. I was hoping to like it, but THE LAST PARTY was one I just couldn't finish.

The premise for this story was good but I could not engage with any of the characters. There was a lot going on in this plot. Still an interesting read.
Many thanks to Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Last Party is a phenomenal thriller from start to finish. Filled to the brim with twists and a captivating plot, this one is sure to keep readers hooked. The characters are well-developed. The story is incredibly fast-paced. This is one not to be missed! Highly recommended! Be sure to check out The Last Party today.

Eeek! This book just didn't hit the right notes for me, which surprised me since I loved the blurb. I found it to be slow moving, and a bit confusing. Lots of characters and different POVs, which wasn't great for a simpleton like me! I liked it enough to finish it but it wasn't my favourite.

I'm grateful to the publisher for the eARC, and the opportunity to review this title. All opinions are my own.

These authors definitely took a big risk tackling the topics they did in this book. I did like most of the story, but I liked their last book Santa Monica much better. Overall, a decent read. It’s about a group of friends that were torn apart years ago and they come together at a remote location to celebrate one of their birthdays.

The only reason this book didn't get a one star is because I did finish it.

But I didn't really like it.

The character development was weird. I didn't really like anyone in this book. Everyone seemed flawed in a way that I felt like I was meant to somehow feel bad for them, but instead I just found them obnoxious.

The story itself felt as if someone was on a deadline and just slapped everything together in a ridiculous way that didn't make sense.

I could not understand why someone would go to a party with people that they completely screwed over. I could not understand why someone would bring their neurodivergent daughter, who they treat like a toddler, and then leave that daughter alone for hours.

But the main thing? I couldn't decide if the author simply wrote this for her anti-vaxx agenda. It certainly felt that way. And if that is the case, the author really needs to do some scientific research and try to keep her mouth shut.

This book is bad. I'm not sure why I finished it. Don't make my mistakes.

What the hell did I just read? DNFed at 23% because I had no idea what was happening and didn’t care to find out.

DNF

This is a mess and it’s truly over the place. The opening chapter/prologue and the next chapter didn’t even match writing style.

Beyond that, each POV has been insufferable so far and I’d rather gauge my eyes out than read a POV of an anti-vaxx celebrity. I’ve had enough Jenny McCarthy thank you very much.

I wasn't sure if Cassidy Lucas could top her debut novel but... she did!!!!!!!! The Last Party is unputdownable & I couldn't get through it fast enough!! Had me reading all through the night.

I was so confused. What's going on here? It sounded like a good plot but....no.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchange for an honest review.

The story is told from the perspective of various party goers, so the reader gets to know a little bit about everyone. We have A LOT going on here. I was nervous about the different POVs. The Last Party was such a confusing book. I don't understand how this party actually came about. Between all the character narration changes and the actual plot of the book, everything felt confusing and maybe even flat.

Overall, I was just invested enough in the ending of the story to plow through and get to the end

The premise of this book sounded really great. Girls weekends gone wrong are one of my favorite thriller storylines so I thought this had a lot of promise. Thats where it ended however. As soon as this started it felt like there was too much being thrown at me. There were too many POVs and too many unrealistic happenings. I can't recommend this book at all. It's boring for the most part, full of plot holes, and a host of one dimensional characters. Although I didnt enjoy this, I thank the publisher and author for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
