This was my first time reading a Contemporary Romance novel from Amy Clipston. I’m hooked after reading this book. After inheriting her Aunt’s Toy store, Maya relocated to the small town she grew up in to start fresh. While getting things organized she meets Brody and his daughter Ashlyn. They began spending a lot of time together while developing feelings. Amy takes you on a whirlwind of emotions with these two characters. Both are struggling with moving on and letting each other in. If you enjoy romance novels, you will love The View from Coral Cove.

The View from Coral Cove is the first book that I have read by Amy Clipston and it won’t be the last. The View from Coral Cove was a fast and enjoyable clean romance with some memorable characters. It’s about a lady who is still suffering from a bad breakup and recently lost her great aunt and inherited her great aunt’s toy store and apartment. She is also a romance writer who is struggling with her latest book and trying to deal with her grief about losing the last family member she had left, when a kitten wanders into the store and chooses her as her person. She finally finds out who her father is and tracks him down with the help of her best friend. She also ends up becoming close friends with the local vet and his young daughter, which quickly develops into her very own romance story that appears to be heading in the direction of her getting her very own happily ever after just like in one of her stories, but will they let their past heart breaks get in the way of their very own happily ever after? Read The View from Coral Cove to find out.

Overall I really enjoyed reading Maya and Brody’s story and was rooting for them from the very beginning, the one thing that I really didn’t like was how fast she went from dating and telling Brody that she loved him and was ready for a commitment to breaking up and getting engaged to someone else. I really didn’t find that relatable or believable for someone to act in that manner so fast, and so for that reason I am only giving it 3 stars.

I really liked the writing. I liked the characters too.
The plot and the conflict were frustrating and a bit boring.
The cover is gorgeous. I would check out something else from this author if the synopsis sounds good.

I felt this was an emotional story with the 2 main characters (Brody and Maya) nursing broken hearts and dealing with life's challenges. I loved the little girl! She was Brody's daughter and just a delight. I did feel the book dragged at times because it dealt too much with unimportant things - like running a store and other moments. Maya's search for her father was interesting and I enjoyed the outcome. Brody was up and down for me. I liked him as a father to his little girl, as a vet and as a helper to Maya & her store. He kind of drove me crazy with his up & down behavior though. Not that people always act one way, but he was just too vacillating! Maya's behavior regarding her ex-fiancée was so strange to me! It just wasn't believable as far as a "rational" way someone would act. I liked the descriptions of the town and their holidays. Overall, I enjoyed it but it could have been cleaned up a bit!

Sweet little contemporary romance:
This was a sweet, clean romance that was heartwarming albeit slightly predictable. There was a little intrigue surrounding Maya's family history but I am afraid I found myself getting a little annoyed by her repeated insecurities.
Having been hurt in the past, Maya and Brody were both initially reluctant to open themselves up to the possibility of love again. It took them a while to sort things out but I was glad when they eventually got there. Brody's 8 year old daughter added a lightness to the story and so did the calico kitten. All in all a good read if you are just looking for something easy and light.

While nursing a broken heart from a jilted fiance and losing her great aunt, Maya packs up and moves back to Coral Cove, NC to run her aunt's toy store. She is a romance novel writer who is struggling to write her next book so is hoping this change will give her new inspiration.

A rescue cat leads to an unexpected meeting with the town veterinarian, Brody and his precocious daughter Ashlyn. Brody and Maya have both weathered broken relationships as well as Maya grew up without knowing her father, so trust issues are a stumbling block in what appears to be a budding romance.

Much of the book is focused on the relationship between Ashlyn and Maya so the romance "build up" seemed a bit lacking. The plot was a bit formulaic and predictable, but if you are looking for a quick beach-side read, this would be a good choice.

Perfect beach read that you won't be able to stop reading.
Sure that Coral Cove, North Carolina is the perfect escapist location to heal a broken heart novelist Maya Reynolds is in for a lot of surprises.
Coral Cove holds so may great childhood memories for Maya and when she inherits her great-Aunt's toy shop she knows it's her second chance opportunity at starting over and being happy.
A found note reveals long lost family secrets in this small town romance and feelings of betrayal.
The characters are ones that you could see yourself having as neighbors and becoming friends with.
Maya's character starts off unsure of herself with a lack of confidence but as things improve her confidence returns with her being a self assured woman.
The book is so tender and sweet, very emotional and you are definitely in for some fun surprises.
My heart was stolen by a lovely little girl and a rascal of a clever calico kitten. Read and see how they get things rolling with a sweet romance. Hard to put down and even better than the first book in the series.

I loved this story. Maya and Brody were wonderful together. And throw in his daughter and the bit of mystery? Well, you have a winner. Did not want to see this end. Amy Clipston is a marvel

An enjoyable if predictable story. I liked the main characters. The constant mention of brand names for everything felt like the advertising. The character can ask for a can of soda without having to specify Diet Coke and you can just get in a car without having to know it is a RAV4. It was distracting. Still, if you are looking for a good book to read at the beach, this will do.

Amy Clipston's latest contemporary romance has it all - a jilted romance novelist, a single dad, a cute little girl, and kittens - lots of cats, really - and even a bit of a mystery. Readers who love a sweet romance with these elements should definitely pick this one up!

Maya Reynolds writes romance fiction, and her books are pretty popular. Until she's jilted by her fiancée, that is. When he leaves her, he takes her writing muse with him. Now she's stuck with a deadline, and no idea how to make her next book flow onto the page. To top it off, her great-aunt CeCe dies, leaving her the toy store she grew up loving, but leaving her without any family. Taking over the toy store in the beach town of Coral Cove, NC is a no-brainer, but can she find inspiration at the beach for the story that has been stalled since Kyle left? When a frisky kitten runs into the shop, followed by an adorable little girl, she has no idea how both will change her life, but it's the father chasing after the girl who captures her interest.

Brody Tanner has sacrificed many things to give his daughter the life she deserves. Adopting her after her mother - his sister - dies was his duty, but losing his fiancé because he now has a daughter has made him extra cautious about relationships. He's determined to avoid romance, not wanting to put his daughter's heart on the line along with his own. Meeting Maya puts his resolve to the test. Can he remain aloof when she wants commitment?

I loved so many things about this story. Maya's search for belonging, both in the town and in her life, ran as a constant thread through the story. Her search for her father and his reaction to her was such a feel-good component of the story! I also loved watching the interactions between both Maya and Ashlyn, and Maya and Brody. I don't think he realized that anyone could love his daughter as much as he did.

I absolutely recommend this one!

The View from Coral Cove caught my attention from the beginning. We are introduced to Maya as a young girl (in the prologue) and then the story begins with adult Maya.

This sweet story is a journey of healing and self-discovery. Maya is on a roller coaster of emotions and events. She doesn't always make the wisest choices and toward the end, I got really annoyed with her for a while. I was emotionally invested in her journey and was fussing at her, LOL!

Brody and Ashlyn have also had their fair share of hardships. This has caused Brody to put walls up around his heart, and while he likes Maya, he's not sure she is worth tearing those walls down for.

I loved the characters in this story. They are well-rounded and realistic. They are easy to connect with and I enjoyed their story. There are quite a few things going on in the story but they come together seamlessly. I loved the small town of Coral Cove and the wonderful residents.

I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys clean romance stories. A perfect beach read or cozy read.

Perfect summertime read!
Coral Cove is a small town by the beach and sounds like such a cute little town to go visit. I know I’m ready to go there after reading The View from Coral Cove.
Maya and Brody’s sweet romance along with Brody’s daughter, Ashlyn, make for a heartwarming and heartfelt read. All three have had major setbacks in their life along with tragedies. Can they overcome all that life has given them?
If you want a sweet, clean, contemporary romance, you need to pick up The View from Coral Cove.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

A sweet story that I definitely enjoyed. I liked Maya a lot as a character and her family mystery added a fun layer to the story. It's a quick easy romantic read guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Maya makes the move to Coral Cove following her broken engagement and the death of her aunt who left to Maya her home and toy store. Maya and her mom had lived with her aunt for a time when Maya was a little girl, and then vacationed there every year after they moved away.
Maya is an author and can work from anywhere, so she figures she'll run the toy store and work on her next book. The book that she's already gotten an extension on as her creativity seems to have dried up after her fiancee broke their engagement and moved out of the country for a job opportunity.
Maya now has no living relatives that she's aware of. Her mother never told her who her father was or anything about him. Maya has always wondered if he wasn't in the picture because there was something wrong with her.
She meets the good looking veterinarian, Brody and his darling daughter, Ashyln when a kitten runs across the street to her.
She begins spending time (a lot of time) with Brody and Ashyln. She feels herself developing feelings for Brody, but isn't ready to love again. After all, her fiancee left her without giving her a reason. She offered to move with him, but he told her they were over.
While the ending was pretty predictable from the beginning, it was a charming story.
Maya is somewhat irritating at times. For example...when she emailed Kyle demanding to be told why he dumped her. Once she decided she was ready for a new relationship, she reacted like a child when Brody told her he wasn't ready for anything beyond friendship. She felt he should, also be ready to move forward.
Maya found a note from her aunt that gave a clue about Maya's father. Can she find him? Does she want to? What if he rejects her once again?
While there was no language or sexual content, there was also really no Christian content with the exception of church being mentioned once.
I was given a complimentary ecopy of this book by the publisher, Thomas Nelson through Netgalley. I was under no obligation to write a positive review.

I love books about a heroine who decides to move to a new town to change up her life. After a failed relationship and losing her last surviving family member Maya decided to move to Coral Cone, North Carolina to try something new. She's feeling blocked on the current book she's writing and has a looming deadline and a drastic life change might be just what she needs.

Maya meets Ashlyn and her father Brody and they all form an undeniable bond. The more time they spend together the more Maya and Brody fall for each other but Maya is a little weary as she's been hurt in the past.

This is a great story set in a picturesque town I would love to visit!

The story was well written with great dialogue and pacing. I was enthralled the minutes I started and could not put it down.

This book would be a wonderful story to sit down to any time of year, however, it really felt right to be reading this book just before summer begins. The View from Coral Cove would be a fabulous story to take with you on vacation and is an excellent beach read!

Brody, Maya, and Ashlyn were characters that I couldn’t help but connect with immediately. I really felt for Maya, arriving in Coral Cove with a broken heart and grief over her great aunt’s passing. I enjoyed reading about the way she plunged into life in Coral Cove and the way she worked to try to help her great aunt’s store to prosper.

I felt for Brody, too, even as I hoped he would be able to overcome his hesitancy toward committing himself to someone after a bad experience in his past. He was a really great guy, who loved his daughter and wanted the best for her. He was also a great friend to Maya and it was sweet to watch as their friendship began to grow into more.

The author created a beautiful setting and a story where I felt as if I was experiencing everything with these characters. I felt their highs and lows and wanted only the best for them. And I loved the epilogue!

When romance novelist, Maya Reynolds's fiance ends their engagement, she finds herself completely uninspired and unable to work on her upcoming new release. As Maya struggles with the end of her engagement and with intense writer's block, she learns that she has inherited her great-aunt Cecelia's toy store in the small, beach town of Coral Cove. Since she had always loved visiting Coral Cove, it seems like the natural thing to move there to run her aunt's store and try to find inspiration for her latest book. The last thing she expects to find is a love story of her very own!

As Maya begins the process of sorting through her great-aunt's belongings, she begins to discover family secrets that she has wondered about for most of her life. She finds herself questioning everything she knows about herself and her mother and their past. As she works in the toy shop one day, she meets the very handsome local veterinarian, Brody Tanner, and his adorable daughter. While Maya finds herself drawn to both of them, it quickly becomes clear that he has secrets of his own. While he quickly becomes a good friend, will the secrets they are both carrying get in the way of building a future together?

I have always enjoyed Amy's Amish novels and loved the sweet stories and relatable characters she writes. This is the first contemporary novel that I've read of Amy's and I enjoyed it even more! I absolutely related to both Maya and Brody. Maya is very relatable in her self doubts that follow the end of her engagement. I loved watching as the friendship between Maya and Brody progressed, but I especially loved her interactions with Ashlyn. The bond between Maya and Ashlyn was really just too adorable. All of the adults in the story were incredibly relatable and it was interesting watching as they grow and learn from mistakes and past challenges . The entire story was just a fun, sweet read and I want to move to Coral Cove!

Great beach read! Loved the characters, especially Ashlyn. Inheriting a toy store after her great aunt's passing, writer Maya is eager to make Coral Cove her home. Will her special memories of past summers help her writer's block? Writing a new romance novel after a bad breakup takes backseat after finding a hidden letter from her aunt with surprising news. Brody, the cute veterinarian with an adorable daughter has also been hurt by love. Can Maya and Brody find their way to a happy ending? A little predictable but enjoyable read. Recommended.
