I was hoping for something far more than this, some tips and hints to help me improve my drawing, to help hone sketching animals, but not the simple drawings here. Not helpful if you want to improve your art
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Simple but effective, draw 500 awesome animals does exactly what it says on the tin. This isn’t a ‘how to draw’ - it’s literally 500 pictures for you to copy, adapt, doodle around etc. My eldest daughter who is 7 loves to copy drawings and loves animals so this book is perfect for her and having had a preview of the digital copy, I’ll be looking to buy the actual book (which you are encouraged to draw in). Some really cute and quirky pictures included and I really like the look of this book.
I think I must have missed something ... I thought there may be some text to help me draw creatures ...instead just 500 roughly sketched creatures
The copy I received was just pictures, no text at all. This seems off for this type of book? Usually there are some step by step or tips. I was using Bluefire to read, not sure if that was the issue or not. Anyway, the images are cute, but this without words isn't up to the quality of the usual drawing books.
Not my cup of tea.
I was expecting something really different, some drawing tips or tutorial. This is only a simple list of animal drawings.
Draw 500 Awesome Animals is an idea and doodle book that encourages you to pick up a pen and have a go, The animals have been simplified so that they can be easily copied and adapted. It is not meant to be a step by step guide or an instruction book, It is a good place to start for anyone interested in learning to draw, It is a bit of fun and great for a rainy day or for keeping children occupied.
Thank you for the opportunity to review an electronic copy of this book in exchange for honest feedback. Based on the cover and title of this book, I assumed that it was a how-to guide for drawing animals. The cover is enticing; I've reviewed a lot of drawing guides, and therefore, a lot of different types of art. I like the modern designs for the animal illustrations. However, the book itself is mostly a "draw it on your own" type, like, you'd just copy it somehow. There aren't any instructions of how-to tips. Therefore, I'm not sure why someone would buy this instead of just printing out a picture or copying from something for free. At the very least, I think the book features cute illustrations and if someone wants to copy/get inspiration, maybe this can help.
Not quite what I expected, I assumed this would be a teach how to draw book, but it’s actually just a collection of drawings.
