I listened to the audiobook which ran just under 6 hours. The story was quick paced and full of twists right till the end but I did not like any of the characters at all who, in a nutshell, were all different levels of sociopaths. The two narrators, Mandy Kaplan and Wyatt Baker, did an overall decent job of narrating the book but I did find Mandy's southern accent for a couple of characters a bit annoying.

My thanks to NetGalley, the audiobook publisher OrangeSky Audio and the author Kiersten Modglin for the audio Arc of the book.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐💫

When one of the residents of Cason Glen reports seeing a car drive into the lake, everyone seems determined to prevent the authorities from searching the lake. Cason Glen is filled with people who have secrets to hide - people who are determined not to be found out.

This is a well-written mystery/thriller filled with multiple unreliable narrators. The book was well-written and the narration was done well.

I've loved others I'd read from Kiersten Modglin so it's no surprise that this one followed suit. From the very beginning, I was hooked. The story is told from the POV of Stephanie, Michelle, and Enzo, which I loved because they all had their own secrets to protect which made it seem like they were all lying and you could never tell who to trust! I love thrillers with multiple POVs and this one did an excellent job of presenting the story in a clear way with 3 different narratives. The chapters were short too so it was quick to get through this. This was full of twists and reveals and kept my mind racing. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this. Thank you to Kiersten Modglin, NetGalley, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book that I have ever read by Kiersten Modglin and while I’m not reading about it I still enjoyed and felt entertained. The twist were great, I didn’t see them coming however the characters drove me absolutely bonkers. You couldn’t pay me to spend an afternoon with this group. Hoping to find a few characters I might actually like in future reads from Modglin

I binged all of Kiersten's books a while ago! This was the latest one I've read. I enjoyed it, it was entertaining. However, it was predictable.

I can’t get enough of KMod’s books. When I start reading, I know I’m in for a crazy ride. Such a fun, twisted small town story. I loved every minute of it!

Here is another neighborhood suspense mystery. There were tons of twists and turns throughout the book. Everyone in the small town has a secret. Some more intense than others, but everyone has a secret. People lie to keep their secrets to themselves. The darkness starts to come to the light. Almost none of the characters were likable. With all that said, I did keep reading and was interested in what was going on. It was a train wreck, and I couldn’t stop. Enjoy the twists and turns if you are going to read this.

Solid mystery (felt more mystery than thriller to me) where you’re not sure who to trust. Everyone is sketchy. This is the 2nd Kiersten book I’ve read and she’s once again delivered a decent twist.

The plot was promising and the narrators were very good. Sadly the story just fell flat for me. Not enough time was put into building the atmosphere and the characters were undeveloped.

I really enjoyed OrangeSky Audio's production of Our Little Secret, it flowed really well and it was easy to listen to. Mandy Kaplan and Wyatt Baker's chemistry enhanced the audio experience.

Our Little Secret is a trademark Kiersten Modglin story that is full of twists and turns, some romance and complicated human motivations! Great to get anyone out of a slump!

The overall mystery was good but I wasn't a fan of the characters. None of them held my interest. At times I felt there were to many characters in the story.

Someone…or everyone is lying in Cason Glen. Stephanie’s husband is missing. But, she knows something is just not right. She makes a false report about a car going into the town lake hoping the authorities will drag the lake and possibly put an end to her nightmare. When the law comes to question her, she reneges on her statement. But, her husband is still missing!

There are so many secrets in this novel. You just don’t know who to believe. Honestly, everyone seems to be everyone’s friend and they are all one big, happy town. Well! They are not! Everyone is lying to everyone.

This is a twisted story and the ending is completely worth it. However, this novel fell short for me. I just did not like any of the characters, especially the teenage boys. But, it is fast paced and the narrators, Mandy Kaplan, Wyatt Baker, did a very good job!

Need a good mystery with a big twist…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

So I’m always seeing Kiersten Modglin’s name come up when I’ve been looking for something different. On Scribd, she’s always listed under “You May Like”. Well, guess what? I did like! In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I’ve read 2 more since!
The town of Cason Glen is like watching a season of Knot’s Landing. Everyone knows everyone and nobody is sure who knows their secrets. And secrets are something this town is drowning in. Six “friends”, who have known each other forever, are keeping their own individual secrets and a few could really tear things up amongst their little group.
Not just full of secrets, but full of twists also, this book has something around every corner that’ll make you stop and think twice. My only real complaint is that there really is not one likable character. If one seemed likable, I just couldn’t connect.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced audiobook in return for my honest opinion.

Kiersten Modglin is becoming a tried and true author to follow for a good experience. There are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing, but not too many to annoy you with the lack of reality.

This was a fun one to read in the spooky month of October, as well.

3.5 stars

This was entertaining, sure. At the start, I was curious to learn what was going on and how it would all play out. But as the story continued, I realized I didn't really like anyone and was kind of glad how it was all going down. How can that many morally questionable people live in one small town? Anyway, interesting but I didn't love it.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Thanks NetGalley for this great audio book. A small town can hold lots of secrets. A missing husband, a dead wife, an affair. Jude is the sheriff and his wife is the town busybody. She knows where all the bodies are buried. They are hiding their own secret. Stephanie’s husband has been missing for only four months but that doesn’t stop her from having an affair with the mayor, Enzo whose wife was killed after a robbery.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was terrible. The characters were all ridiculous and annoying. The teenage boys were awful and their mom let them walk all over her and say horrible things to her and she just kept saying she loved them. They were probably the worst part of the book and that's saying a lot. The mystery was not worth suffering through this.

Our Little Secret is set in a little town called Cason Glen, and although it seems to be one of those places where nothing bad happens, and everyone knows everyone, it is full of secrets, lies, death, and missing people. I am glad the name of the book is Our Little Secret because honestly, I don't think there is a single person that was mentioned that wasn't hiding something.

I love that Kiersten's chapters are short, and her books overall are not unnecessarily long. You can always trust her to save you from long pages describing irrelevant things, which I also think gives the reader the freedom to really take the story she gives you and get your own idea. I would not be surprised if readers who like casting books came with somewhat different actors or places. Now having said all that, I disliked the main character, so I am very curious what other people thought of Stephanie. I also felt that the ending was confusing? And I did go back to make sure I just didn’t gloss over it. <spoiler> What happened to the baby? Unless I missed it, I don't remember any mention of a baby when it seemed to be such a big deal to Caroline to keep it. And did the kids do anything after all? Are we supposed to assume they killed one of the other girls? It sounded like Caroline set them up, but one of them also said his lol should show him respect because he killed a girl? I also can't help to think that they all had one common enemy, and all of them working together could have gotten away with it. It kind of feels like no one is really too shocked at Ted being a pedophile or abusing his power? Enzo merely refers to it as “extracurricular activities” WE ARE TALKING HIGH SCHOOL! Everyone is killed for the worst reasons. And Stephanie comes clean to save Enzo regardless of her fear of Ted killing her, but not to save teenage girls she thought were getting murdered? Caroline is revealed to be a psychopath but she was irrelevant for such a good chunk of the book that it doesn't really hit you as much. </spoiler> While I like how short and sweet the chapters are, I feel like a major topic was super minimized. While the main plot is not as crazy or hard to believe, how the characters acted and reacted lacked logic and common sense in my opinion. All the secrets are revealed in the last chapters, and to me, it got confusing. I think one or two twists could be enough, and there was just too much going on. While my praise to her is not filling the book with fluff, I would either read an extra 100 pages or have things work harmoniously.
I find it super hard to believe this book is supposed to be set in a little town where everyone knows everything yet so many things slipped under the rug with no issues. The biggest reason for my low rating is that the ending feels rushed. It is unclear to me who is responsible for certain actions (the same things I felt were minimized) and character development is lacking.

My rating for this one will be 2.5 rounded down to 2 stars because it had potential, but there is no connection with any of the characters, not even a negative one. A reader should not be this impartial to such dark matters, and at the same time, I feel like I was the only one alarmed by a huge issue this town had. Huge miss for me.

Stephanie reported seeing a car fall in the lake. But she lied. Then the Sheriff and the Mayor wanted to convince her that might've been tired and was mistaken. What did they have to hide or did they know she lied?!
Stephanie's husband went missing and she didn't know if he left her and teenage boys or if something happened to him!
Enzo's (the mayor) wife was murdered and no one has been arrested. The Sheriff, Jude, and his wife Elisabeth were afraid the divers would search the lake and their secret would be out.
Everyone has secrets.
Love, betrayal, secrets, the things parents would do to protect their children and doing the right thing.

You can't but hate every character in this book. Even Enzo the most tolerable one did something cringy and insane.
And the messed up teenagers! So MESSED UP!!

But I liked and I loved the open ending.

I felt suspense from the first chapter. I love how everyone had a secret and they could not run from that secret. Each character also paid for there secret by the end of the story.
