Excellent character driven novel. For those who like labels on their fiction, I would label this one Women's Fiction, Domestic Suspence. Whatever. I loved it. Loved each of the characters and appreciate how the author brought them to life and so deftly showed the good and the not so good of each of them. Highly recommended.

High School Reunion.
Who doesn’t want to experience young love again? The angst, jealousy, and gaming frenemies were not only present and accounted for, they were the WHOLE book.
While the characters in Can’t Look Away are not in highschool and range from age twenty three to thirty three, the feeling was very juvenile. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved some YA books but they’ve been written in a unique or lyrical way and possessed adult elements.
Billed as a Thriller, this was more of a Romance. I made it to the end with some effort, but my continuing thought process was “Is this all?” I was bored and clearly not the right audience.
I wish I’d played hooky on this one.
Thank you to St Martin’s Press, the author, and NetGalley for my ARC. I was so looking forward to it that I read it within days of downloading and I’m sorry that I couldn’t be more positive.

This was a compelling and fun read. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys domestic fiction with a side of suspense. 3.5 stars.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book. It’s hard to categorize. Part thriller, part romance, part women’s literature.
I just thought it was a lovely commentary on who we are when we are young and how we change as we age. And how love can mean a lot of different things. We can hold so many people in our hearts in different capacities.
Honestly the thriller elements are okay, but the character development and relationships are what will stick with me.
4 stars.
Thanks to st.martin’s press for an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

In a multiple point of view, multiple time line novel, we meet Molly a 23 y.o. who working as a barista and is simultaneously working on her MFA. She dreams about becoming a successful writer. What she is not expecting in her future is to fall in love with the lead singer of the up and coming band, Danner Lane. Their love affair is intense, exciting, and not without problems. Shoot forward, and we meet Molly again, married to Hunter and living in the suburban town of Flynn Cove with with their 5 year old daughter , Stella. Molly is not in love with the other women of Flynn Cove, as they tend to be more interested in the country club and the latest fashion than genuine friendship. This all changes when Sabrina walks into her yoga studio. She is down to earth, doesn't care what others think and they share similar issues with fertility, which bonds them together. Molly is in for a huge surprise when she goes to Sabrina's house for dinner and her past is brought roaring into the present when meets her husband, a true blast from her past. Now Molly has to figure out how to hold on to the life she has built, when her life is turned onto its head.
Carola Lovering has written an amazing story in Can't Look Away. I couldn't look away from the page, or stop turning the pages to see what happened next. My husband kept calling me to dinner and I found myself saying over and over -- I am almost done! Just a minute, I have to finish this. I was sad when it was over, as I truly loved the books and all of the characters that Lovering created in this story. Even the characters you love to hate. While varying timelines and different points of view can become confusing, this books was easy to follow and I liked getting to be in different characters heads. This book is romance, fiction, and a little bit thriller.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the advanced ARC of this book.

Rating: 4 to 4.5 star
Genre: I believe this is classified as a thriller. I will say as I read it, I felt like it was a thriller; however, after the end, it felt more like a fiction with thriller vibes.
I enjoyed this one! It definitely kept me reading. Throughout the book, it definitely had more thriller vibes. Once the book ended, it felt more like a fiction with a side of thriller. It was still intriguing!
I have a couple of warnings for this book. If miscarriage or fertility issues are a trigger at all I would be cautious reading this book. They are themes throughout the book.

Not sure exactly how I feel about this book!! The storyline was intriguing, the writing was amazing, the characters were written brilliantly but it is more of a drama than a mystery. At times it felt just drawn out and a little boring. The last quarter of the book kept me wanting to know the decisions the characters made and kept me turning the pages. If you like books about decisions people make than this book is for you. Not sure if I would recommend this one though.

This was super interesting to read - it even creeped me out sometimes as I read so there’s also that: the characters were very interesting and also very layered so that was fun. 5 out of 5 stars!

I couldn’t put this one down! The alternating viewpoints and shifting timelines worked well here and the characters, while not always likable, were engaging. I genuinely wanted to know how everything worked out for them all in the end, and although the “villain” didn’t exactly get her comeuppance, the ending was satisfying.
The plot had just enough twists to keep things interesting, including a couple that made me literally gasp.
I would definitely recommend this novel to fans of domestic thrillers and character-driven storytelling. This is an author who will be on my radar in the future as well.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this book so much that I talked about the plot to my mom. She's not a reader but I told her how thought provoking it was and we discussed how or what we would do if we were Hunter or Molly.
This book was filled with suspense and although you want to dislike one of the main characters toward the end, your heart sort of goes out to them.
I would definitely recommend this as a love story with a healthy amount of suspense. It's well written and a pretty quick read.

I'm not sure how to classify this book - romance? Domestic suspense? Mystery? Maybe it's all of those.
What I liked:
I loved the romance at the beginning of the book. It was an insta-love, but I fell for it and believed it. So right away I decided to root for these two. Then it turns out that they did not end up together (you find this out by chapter 2) and I really like her new husband too. I am torn as to who to root for, which made this part of the fun.
I liked the writing, and I could picture the characters and the the world that they lived in.
I liked all of the characters - well, most of them..
I thought it was a fun, easy read.
What didn't I like?
It almost felt a little too "hallmark movie of the week-ish". at times.
I liked the ending, but felt that things were resolved too easily.
I have several other thoughts on this book, but do not want to spoil anything. Finding out some of the twists for yourself is part of the fun. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will read more by this author.
I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review.

What happens to Molly between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2? And why?
You will be so determined to find out that if you are anything like me you'll absorb this book non-stop until you know.
Perfect blend of thriller and bit of romance.
Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy. It was my pleasure to write an honest review!

I’m not quite sure how this book is being described; there’s definitely suspense but it’s also a bit unsatisfying? I feel we get this plot twist about 1/3 in and the suspenseful aspect of the book dies out and from there it’s just domestic fiction. I enjoy Lovering’s writing and the story was captivating, but I also don’t feel the resolution was wholly satisfying. I didn’t understand how Sabrina’s motives could be tied up so neatly, and really that anyone in the book could forgive the lies and mistakes so easily. I’ll definitely tune in for Lovering’s next book, but this doesn’t hold a candle to her previous novels.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Special thanks for the email heads up so I knew to rush and download!

Another compelling and impossible to put down story by Carola Lovering! I could not get enough of the dynamics between Molly, Sabrina, and Jake. The mixture of romance and thriller gave this a fresh feel. I also appreciated Carola's thought into navigating infertility---a topic I wish to see more of in fiction. I couldn't stop reading this book and was sad to leave the world of Flynn Cove (even though I wouldn't fit in there, ha!) which speaks to the talent of this writer.

CAN'T LOOK AWAY is an exploration of how far one woman will go to get the man she wants. while parts of the novel seemed unrealistic, the writing was good and the characters of Molly, Sabrina, Jake and Hunter were well developed and interesting. A good read!

Can't Look Away by Carola Lovering is the quintessential domestic suspense novel...I couldn't put it down! I was immediately drawn into this story which follows the life of Molly Diamond, a young barista who meets the lead singer of a band, Jake Danner and is immediately enthralled as is Jake. Their love story is tumultuous and we meet Molly later in life when she's married and settled into a bedroom community in Connecticut with her husband and daughter. She meets a lovely woman named Sabrina who she feels is her first true friend in her new town, and discovers that her previous love, Jake is Sabrina's husband. But is Sabrina really who she thinks she is?
Thank you to the author, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Incredible novel and I look forward to Ms. Lovering's next book! #Can'tLookAway #CarolLovering #Netgalley

The title of this book says it all. I couldn't look away once I had started this absolutely engrossing story! This is my second read by Carola Lovering and I am officially a fan. She is such a master at weaving together a story from multiple points of view. I was completely invested in Molly's relationships and the beautifully created characters. The suspense kept me turning the pages to find out what had happened. Loved it!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for access to this arc.

CAN"T LOOK AWAY is a winner for fans of domestic suspense. The characters are extremely well-drawn and I felt immediately invested in Molly's life, both present and past. Lovering keeps the plot moving at a nice pace and the ending brings everything to a satisfying conclusion. The alternating POVs and different timelines are handled in a seamless manner. I especially appreciated the themes of the narrative as Molly wonders if she made the correct decision by marrying Hunter. This is not necessarily a thriller with jaw-dropping twists and turns; readers should go in expecting a nuanced and thoughtful page turner (there's plenty of suspense!) about what happens when life does not go the way we planned.

This was q fantastic read. I like how the characters were introduced and their storyline. I would definitely read this author again

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the arc of this book. I love Carola Lovering's writing so I ignored the other books I have to read and dove right in. Well, I inhaled this book! The characters, though not all likable, were great! So great that I couldn't wait to find out what happened to them. I oculd really identify with Molly in the early years. The writing was as good as I expected. I read a lot, and am getting a little tired of multiple timelines/POVs, but Ms. Lovering does such a great job I really enjoyed the use of these devices. The story was so good, and I won't give any spoilers, but just know there are some surprises! I loved this book, even though maybe not as much as I loved Too Good To Be True. If you want an engrossing thriller without killers and gore or just want to read a great book, this is for you.
