Another quick, fun, loveable read from Belinda Williams! I adored Tom and Chelsea in the first Pierce Brothers book, but I also fell in love with Nadia and Luke in this second book. My favorite part of books in series is references to previous characters and the fact that Tom and Chelsea were highly involved in this book (AND there were numerous references to Tom as Mr. Nice Guy) made me smile with delight. This was an (almost) enemies to lovers trope as Nadia has closed herself off to love and is convinced her "thing" with Luke isn't going anywhere, but this whole story can melt even the hardest of hearts like Nadia's. Can I find a hot, capable man to build me a deck and an attic for my shoes?! *Swoon* Looking forward to Seth's story as the next book in the series!

Also- this US girl LOVED all of the Australian wording, especially the dodgem cars!

Cute, quick read. The story was sweet and simple, but it was very predictable.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an ARC I’m exchange for an honest review.

Was a good book and it was definitely from a females side of not wanting love. A good read and will definitely read the others. Well done.

A second chance romance. Nadia and Luke had a one night stand and before they were able to be anything more Nadia finds out that Luke is separated from his wife, and has a kid. She acts like she hates him and Luke acts like he doesn't care. Luke is a contractor and takes on the project of working on renovating Nadia's whole house for her.

I did find Nadia to be a bit immature which bothered me and initially didn't make me want to continue reading. I did think it was a pretty easy read and liked reading a reverse grumpy/sunshine because I haven't read too many of these. Also loved the close proximity in the book.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for providing me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Spoilsport is a second chance romance of Nadia and Luke. They once had something together but Nadia found out that he was separated from his wife and had a child. Nadia acts like she hates Luke because of this. Luke plays it off and says that Nadia never asked. If you were still married, wouldn't you mention that to the next person and let them know you were separated? Common decent human courtesy. I found Nadia to be highly immature and annoying. Luke wasn't any better. This story just wasn't for me.

Belinda Williams continues her planned series on the Pierce brothers with "Spoilsport' being book two.

Luke is a single dad having just gotten out of a long-term relationship. Meanwhile Nadia, after witnessing her parents' marriage, likes to keep her relationships strictly casual.

Both end up having a fling until Nadia learns Luke was hiding a secret from her - her one rule breaker - he was married. Well technically married but seperated. From then on she wanted nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately for Nadia, her best friend Chelsea's boyfriend Tom is Luke's brother (their story was documented in the first book of this series, the horribly titled 'Mr Nice Guy'. I do wish though she's stop using the term - she uses it in Spoilsport to describe Tom - as it has a far more sinister meaning).

Combined with owning a run-down house, and Luke being a builder, she is going to be in forced proximity to him. And like the builder he is, Luke will be banging down her walls.

Spoilsport is a fun easy read watching Nadia have to overcome projecting her issues onto Luke, who she is clearly attracted to. They have a fun, easy banter and I liked the reverse grumpy/sunshine with the woman being the grumpy instead. At times though, I thought poor Luke deserved better treatment.

There's an earnestness to Belinda William's writing which makes this book a carefree and easy read.

What would you do if your house was literally trying to bury you alive? Well, of course you would hire the gorgeous man that you had a thing for over a year ago – who now you can’t stand – that happens to be the brother-in-law of your best friend. I absolutely loved the plot line, the (almost) enemies to lovers vibe, and the easy-to-read way of Belinda Williams in Spoilsport, book two in the Pierce Brothers series.

Even though part of a series, you can definitely read this as a standalone novel. This sweet rom-com had tons of potential – however, it fell a little flat for me because I wasn’t too much of a fan of Nadia Alvarez (who just happens to be the main character). l. I found her to be rather immature – and a Spoilsport, like the title warns us from the beginning. I felt like Luke was too good for her and I couldn’t understand why he kept being Mr. Nice Guy, trying to win over her affections. The other characters were great . . . almost making up for Nadia. I thoroughly enjoyed Esme as well, Luke’s younger daughter.

This book was a lighthearted, easy read. I enjoyed not having to think or put together hard story lines, making this a good, quick, escape from reality. After peeling off some of the layers of Nadia near the end, I was left feeling like if I had to describe this novel in one word it would be: sweet.

Honestly, I’m just feeling a little meh about this story.
This book follows Nadia and Luke who were previously together before Nadia dumped Luke after finding out that he was not officially divorced from his wife and that he had a daughter she never told him about. He is back in her life to help renovate her house that is falling apart. I wouldn’t say the book was bad but I had trouble caring about the characters that much. I thought Nadia was annoying and, while I love a headstrong heroine, I didn’t understand why she was being so stubborn for most of the book. As someone who prides herself on being stubborn, I can appreciate holding onto a grudge, but Luke was trying so hard to help her and I don’t understand why. It was a quick read but honestly none of it was very memorable and overall it was kind of cliché. Though maybe if I had read the first book before this one, I would’ve liked this better.

What starts as a hot night together evolves into an never ending sparring match because of his lie. Though it had some relateable moments I was constantly unsure if Nadia and Luke where really meant to be. I found that even though Luke could be misunderstood, he lacked some common sense when it comes to Nadia while she was really coming across as completely stubborn and cold. Not a great start to a possible romance. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for an enemies to lovers story, but I feel the need to see and want them to be together is crucial. Since I flip flopped too often I didn't truly buy it.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

3.25 stars! I wasn’t deeply moved but I enjoyed it enough.

Nadia has bought a fixer upper, a home she could really see herself living in, but she’s struggling to pay for it despite really needing renovations. When it starts to get worse, Luke gives her a quote that can’t be beat but she’s hesitant because Luke is a former one night stand who omitted some pretty big things. Nadia only agrees to hire Luke with one rule: no falling in love. As the house gets built, Nadia and Luke find themselves both breaking the rule.

As mentioned, I liked it. It’s exactly what a romance novel was. I just wasn’t ever deeply yearning. Luke was sweet and dreamy. Nadia was just a tad immature for my liking.

thank you netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Spoilsport by Belinda Williams is the second book in the Pierce Brothers series but can be read as a standalone. It is a second chance romance featuring the eldest Pierce brother, Luke Pierce, a divorced father who doesn't do fun and Nadia Alvarez, a nurse who doesn't do relationships. With Nadia's fixer-upper house trying to kill her, she needs a builder who can turn it into a home and in comes Luke, who owns a construction company. What follows is a sweet romance with trips to Sydney, nerf gun fights, pictionary sessions, amusement park rides, a couple of unfortunate hospital visits, custody issues, old grudges, an amazing best friend and her adorable relationship.
It is a cozy and cute story with lots of potential that just wasn't for me. There was a lot of focus on the renovation part which I immensely enjoyed. I liked that the characters considered the fact that some people can prefer to remain single. This is something that isn't dealt well in a lot of romance books. I didn't like the way some terms related to mental health were used and the way the Nadia's attire was talked about. There was a lot of repetition of several expressions and incidents. There was a lot of comparison with the former relationship which I didn't like.

ARC received from Netgalley and author/publisher in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

Spoil Sport by Belinda Williams is lighthearted second chance romance about Nadia, a complicated woman with an aversion to relationships and Luke, a divorced father who takes life seriously and the weight of all the responsibilities on his shoulders.
This book begins 1 year after their one night stand which ended badly due to some miscommunication!
The starting was a little slow so it took me 3-4 chapters to get into this! But after that i really liked it!!
I really like Nadia and her character was so interesting! I liked Luke too but i preferred their interactions together so much more.
Theh definitely had some cute and wholesome moments together! But that doesn't mean they didn't have any chemistry together! Luke and Nadia had quite a few sizzling moments ahajsh (but this book doesn't have any nsfw content, the scenes were fade to black! So if you don't like that stuff, you'll definitely like this!)
If you're looking for an entertaining, charming and sweet romcom, this book is for you!

~3.5⭐Rating~
When nurse Nadia bought herself a fixer upper house she didn’t quiet expect her new, well old home, to want to eat her alive! With working long days and sometimes nights and a pretty tight budget Nadia is in desperate need of a good contractor. However the last person that she wants to work with is Luke Pierce, the guy that rocked her world for one night but also left out some major personal details. But with Luke’s quotes coming in at a steal and his persistent fix it attitude Nadia has little to no choice but bite the bullet and work with him. Hopefully this time she can keep the charmer at arms length while getting her dream house.
••
This novel was any HGTV lovers dream romcom! I loved that this was a super cute fast paced romcom with a strong headed heroine and a total softie hero. Also I have to mention that I loved that this book was set in Australia!
••
As far as our main characters go well to be fair I liked Luke a bit more than Nadia. As much as I liked Nadia there were a few things that just irritated me, I just found that she was to immature and held on to something that really wasn’t a major issue. Also gosh girl accept that your house is falling apart and needs fixing! However as the book progressed I did warm up to Nadia.
••
Luke Pierce gosh this guy was the cutest! I loved that he was so fixed on helping Nadia and that he was genuinely a great guy. I loved his relationship with Esme and that she helped ground him. Also I loved the way his brothers played a hand in hooking him up with Nadia.
••
All in all Spoilsport was one cute fast enemies to lovers read with major HGTV vibes. This is definitely one to add to your TBR!

Spoilsport is the second book about the Pierce brothers and is a second chance, lovers to enemies to lovers type romcom.

Luke is a newly divorced, single father who comes back into Nadia's life to work on her fixer-upper of a house. Nadia is a fiery nurse who doesn't believe in love or relationships.

I really loved this book. It was a super enjoyable read and the characters have really great chemistry. There are great side characters and I could vividly picture the entire story while I was reading. The only reason it's not a 5-star read for me is because I thought Luke deserved better and I wanted to see him get some resolution. He deserved an apology and some resolution from his ex and I thought Nadia owed him big time. I would have loved to see a little more development on her end because she was immature and intolerable at times and I wished Luke got the apology from her that he deserves!

Thank you Net Galley for letting me read an advanced copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion.

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed by this one. The premises were good, amazing even. Second chance love, former one night stand so lovers to enemies to lovers, forced proximity? Sign me up.

And, dont get me wrong, I did enjoy reading this story. However, there are a few things that just didn't work for me.

Nadia and Luke spent a night together, there was passion and the desire to repeat the affair again. Something goes wrong and they drift apart.

Now, the reason they fell apart? The whole reason why there's tension between them and makes them enemies?

It lasts about two seconds.

We know immediately why they didn't work out, what when wrong and how they both reacted to it. Like, what was supposed to be Nadia's reason to hate him so much, the true reason, you discover it in the first few chapters.

That's a no for me. What about the built up? The tension between them until one of them just cannot go on being forced to spend time together without clearing the air between them. And then we would have the climax were they fight, their true colors are exposed and then there's the resolution.

None of that.

Moving on, Nadia's has swore off relationships. Eventually that changes, of course, but it didn't feel realistic. Like it happened too quick too soon. There wasn't an internal debate she had while she struggled with admitting her feelings for Luke. Nope. One chapter the feelings were just there.

Like???

Let's move on to Luke. Don't get me wrong, the guy is fine. But he has no depth nor dimension. He's just there.

So yeah, all in all, it was an enjoyable read and it had a lot of potential. There were just too many things that didn't work for me.

If you LOVE a bit of tension, are OBSESSED with some steamy scenes and ADORE a happily ever - then this book is for you. This book is everything a romance should be!

Our lead, Nadia is an independent woman who has NO time for men. Especially Luke Pierce. After a failed one night stand, to call this couple estranged would be an understatement. So when Luke comes back into her life and gives her an offer she can’t refuse, Nadia is stuck seeing him every day. What comes next is a classic tale of enemies to lovers who have a wave of obstacles in their way from parents, to ex partners to housing issues!

I give full warning, if you’re a sliiiight romance lover then I wouldn’t give this one a go because you otherwise you will be thrust head first into a sea of cheesy gooey romancey love stuff which you might not enjoy all that much- personally I ADORED it and flew through it in just a few days!
The character development was great, as was the plot and the underlying storyline and battle between Luke/his ex/his daughter etc. Books that have an underlying subplot as opposed to just ‘he likes me he likes me not’ (hellloooo The Hating Game), are by far superior to all other romance novels and this one is NO exception!!

This one is released today so don’t waste time picking it up!! You can find out more information on Belinda's instagram page and thank you so much again for the opportunity to pre-read your work ❤️

I found this book difficult to get through. Nadia came across way too immature, unreasonable and childish. The way she treated Luke because he had a child and didn’t immediately tell her is a dangerous precedent to set. Storyline was way too cliche for me.

This book is just absolutely amazing!!! It’s one of those books that by chapter 3 I already knew I was going to love so much I’d want to binge it but I force myself to read only a bit a day to stretch it out. Slight enemies to lovers vibe, tiny miscommunication trope that didn’t last very long (thank you for that). The whole group friend dynamic is such a breath of fresh air, nice low-key relatable vibe. I absolutely loved how he treated her and wanted to give her her dream home. And while the spicy scenes were limited, boy were they well written!!! Their whole relationship came across as genuine and relatable, will forever recommend this book and will probably become one of my comfort books!

Definitely in my top 5 for my October reads!

Nadia is a confident woman who knows what she wants out of life. She enjoys the company of men but she doesn’t do relationships or love; which is the exact opposite of Luke. Luke is Tom’s oldest brother and as Nadia has pointed out on multiple occasions a spoilsport and lacks fun in his life. The only time Luke broke from his natural tendency was when he met Nadia during his separation and started a “relationship but not a relationship” with her which Nadia promptly ended when she found out about his soon to be ex wife and kid.

With Luke remodeling Nadia’s dilapidated house, Nadia and Luke become unable to resist their physical attraction to each other and become friends with benefits. But somewhere along the way, the lines being to blur and Nadia can’t handle it and builds her walls back up. Can Luke take down her walls or will he walk away hurt again?

Spoilsport is a fun and easy read full of smart sarcastic comments and playful jabs between Nadia and Luke. This is the second book in @belindawilliamsbooks series about the Pierce Brothers and the third book about Seth will be out in 2022!

Thank you @belindawilliamsbooks and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
