Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley and I am so sorry I didn't read this sooner, it went on the wrong Kindle (I have 2!)
A really good twisty thriller from an author I really enjoy.
More please.
A dark and twisted thriller this is a great read from the author. It was well written and kept me engaged.
Juliette and Danny move into a new home after the tragic death of their young daughter, in an effort to start again and make fresh memories.
Their neighbours Sarah and Richard appear to be friendly and all is well until Juliette is convinced she saw a young girl in her neighbours garden. Richard tries to convince her that her grief is making her see things. Juliette is not convinced and she will not let it go.
I loved this book, it held me captive from the start with its many secrets and red herrings that try to put you off the trail, not knowing who you can trust.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
I'm a big fan of this author and this book didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the main concept of the story and it had a strong main character, I enjoyed the twists and turns in the book and it kept me hooked throughout.
I tried to get into this, but could not! I found the text a little boring and just didn't feel connected to any one character. This was a miss for me, sadly.
Mel Sherratt has done it again....I would recommend this to lovers of dark pysch suspense / thrillers...twisty and great suspense
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this book.
I felt the writing was done well in this book but there was just something missing for me and I couldn't get into it and enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.
A gripping read, full of twists and turns, and moves along at a very nice pace too. Interesting characters and enjoyed the split narrative.
Another great thriller from this author who definitely does not disappoint. The writing style draws you in immediately and the plot is one you can get lost in trying to guess what is going on
I am a huge fan of Mel Sherratt after reading The Estate Series - I am pleased to say that this book did not disappoint! From the opening page, I was completely hooked and found myself surprised at every little twist and turn this story took.
A brilliant page turner that will not disappoint!
4 stars! This thriller was enjoyable. Dark and twisted, it is sure to keep the reader entertained.
Thank you to Mel Sherratt, Bookouture, and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The life she wants is a page turner for sure? It is gripping and the story lines are smooth but oh so twisted. It's no surprise that this book is difficult to put down given that its a Mel Sherratt book! I loved the way the book opens into a compelling scene and chapter. From there there is no option but to keep turning thise pages. Somewhere along the way I could figure out where this was headed but the journey to there was twisted and there were a few things I did not see coming. The characters in the book were good and my favorite was off course Juliette!
Thank you NetGalley Bookouture and Mel Sherratt for the arc!
Not sure about this book, I found a lot very silly it could have been better.
Sarah was married to Richard but was not a happy marriage. Richard from the outside was an amazing husband, but he was abusive and cruel, they also had a secret.
When new next door neighbours moved in they had to be very careful that secret was not discovered.
Thanks netgalley for this book but it was not for me.
.
I
Thanks so very
Loved it, really good fast paced thriller full of twists and turns and had me racing through it to get to the end!! Will look out for more from the author…
This book was phenomenal- full of twists and turns; and entertaining to the very last page.
Following the death of their daughter, Danny and Juliette move to a quite country neighborhood looking for peace as they navigate their grief. Next door Sarah and Richard have built a perfect life, and Sarah is relieved that the life she built won’t be interrupt by the grief stricken couple.
Soon the friendship being built between the couples is tested, lies are surmounting and Sarah will stop at nothing to hide the truth.
This is a multi-POV, so you need to pay attention to be able to follow the lies and truths. There are characters you will absolutely despise but it makes so a even better ending.

I was given a copy of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the chance to read this book!
The author has a way with her words and always keeps me guessing throughout the book.
Told in more narratives, this story is full of turns and twists that keep me engaged until the last page. I couldn’t say that I had it al solved before everything was revealed but parts of it was quite predicted by my crazy mind.
That being said, I enjoyed this thriller with all its scary moments and despicable characters. A must read book for sure
It was a slow paced book at the start but then it became a lot better. Told by 3 perspectives , it really had me scared. Which I loved. The ending made the book for me.
Chilling and compelling psychological thriller which keeps you guessing.
Cleverly split into several sections as our view of events is reframed.
Juliette and Danny have moved out of London for a quieter life and a new start following the heartbreaking death of their young daughter. The village they move to seems idyllic, apart from their next door neighbours, Sarah and Richard, who seem a bit off as though they are hiding something.
I just love Mel Sherratt books. I have loved her series and now this standalone one has been great. Loved the cover was instantly drawn in and really enjoyed this new storyline. Loved the setting, the creepy loneliness of it, loved the neighbours moving in, loved the character relationships, it was very good.
Although I preferred her series this one was still a fab contender for me in my fave thrillers of the year so far!
Another cracker by Mel Sherratt. Her characters are so well fleshed out, you can imagine them living at the end of the street. A dark and twisty read that will keep you glued to the page.
