Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I started reading this back in 2021 and stopped about one quarter of the way in because I got distracted by other fiction reads - I have to be in the right mindset for nonfiction. But I recently revisited and finished the book with a mix of reading and listening to the audiobook. It’s really an engaging portrayal of a legendary lawyer Barry Slotnick. And it’s interesting that the audiobook is narrated by his son (I believe). If you are interested in NYC-based crime and trial proceedings, this doesn’t read like nonfiction, thanks to James Patterson’s prowess.
